-Hum you guys maybe should not stay in the classroom, it might be forbidden specially considering all the dangerous and scary stuff that might be inside...let's just go talk somewhere with a better view Hildegard remarked as she took a step back as if to dissociate of them even if she was not inside the classroom to begin with.
Hildegard would always obey the rules of Hogwarts specially as she heard of what kind of punishment student would undergo if they broke rules. And as Gryffindor had earned the reputation of rules breaker she had one more reason to fear those lions.
She looked at Amanda in the eyes preparing to judge her next action.
Switching then for a second to Lorelei, thinking to herself :
-Come on girl you're a Ravenclaw a smart one ! You know that we should not do things that may be forbidden !
Switching back looking in the eyes of the girl from Gryffindor, she had eyes similar to those of a lion which made her intimidating specially with her blond hair.
-You know that you kind of look like a lion Amanda Hildegard said with a mocking grin, getting better in the art of appearing as someone that no one should mess with.

Amanda smiled at Lorelei, at least one of them was friendly. She looked over at the Ravenclaw with a slight smile. She felt a tad uncomfortable with the other girls eyes on her.
"Y-Yeah, I am a first year. You guys are too, right?" She asked, trying to start a conversation.
Her attention was drawn away when Hildegard made a comment, a grin on her face. Amanda figured that the Slytherin wanted to put up a front, to show her and other Gryffindors that she was not to be trifled with. She probably wanted to build a reputation of such. She felt bad for wanting to get a comment back at her, but she'd reached out first, she supposed. Her attempts were for naught, because she clearly hadn't appreciated them.
Amanda smirked at her comment, flicking her hair over her shoulder and turning to Hildegard.
"Lions are beautiful creatures, so thank you. You must have been looking at me pretty closely to come to that conclusion, hm?" She remarked, tilting her head and returning Hildegard's mocking grin at her with an innocent look. She knew that the girl was trying to get a rise out of her, or to make her feel inferior. She supposed this was again to put her a step above the Gryffindors.

Lorelei shifted nervously as she watched the exchange between Hildegard and Amanda. She could feel the tension in the small room increasing, and wanted to quickly find a way to diffuse it.
"Erm, yes, I am a first year" she said, nodding at Amanda. She then turned to address Hildegard
"Your right, we should probably find a better place to chat. It would be bad if Professor Karr came in and yelled at us. I really don't want that to possibly stain my acedemic record. Where do you think would be better?" she addressed the last part to both pf the girls. She rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet gently as she thought. They couldn't wander the halls in the middle of the night, a professor or prefect might find them. Tjeu couldn't go to any of the common rooms, as they were all in different houses. It wouldn't be easy to push the chat off until the next morning either, for that same reason. Lorelei frowned, having friends, or possible friends in the case of Amanda, in other houses was difficult. She switched from rocking to bending and tapping her right foot, leaning on it in constantly switching, often unusual, postions.

As the coward girl saw the Ravenclaw agree to leave the classroom she smiled at her,
-Thank you for being smart ! Hildegard thought to herself.
Turning yet again to the Gryffindor she smirked, as a way to announce her "victory".
-You stupid Gryffindor will not get me nor her in trouble ! She said interiorly.
Adding after that in a small whisper:
-Well I always considered lions to be ugly.
The reply that Amanda had given earlier did not matter anyway as her primary goal was to protect herself and Lorelei from getting in trouble because of the Gryffindor, which was why she had tried to put up with such a front earlier.
Hildegard turned her back all while saying :
-How about we sit where I was sitting earlier, there is a magnificent view from there !
Claimed the girl.
She started walking with a limp back to the place she came from, already knowing or rather feeling that the Gryffindor she just met would notice the walking way she had, maybe getting a shock or something like people usually do.
Hildegard when she got to the place had to take support from the wall in order to sit down, now just admiring back the night sky.

Amanda frowned as the Slytherin praised Lorelei for her amazing idea. It seemed like she blamed her for almost getting in trouble. Amanda did anything but break the rules, she would be way too scared to do so anyway. She had always been a bit of a teachers pet, focusing on her work and staying quiet. She preferred her studies over people, they were more simple and reliable in her opinion.
She realized how much of a mistake this was recently, seeing all the pairs of friends traipse around the hallways happily. She wanted that, she wanted friendship. So this was her first attempt, to make a friend or maybe just an acquaintance. She had clearly done something wrong, something to make Hildegard unhappy with her. She wondered what it was, what she could have said to make her be snide. Maybe she made a face..? Or maybe she was just annoying...
Amanda frowned, about to open her mouth to speak when Hildegard whispered to her that she considered lions to be ugly. She immediately knew what she meant, her frown deepening. Tears welled up in the shy girls eyes, and her voice shook as she spoke.
"I-It was n-nice to meet you, Lorelei.." The Gryffindor spoke quietly, her voice breaking at the end of her sentence. She held back her tears, grabbing her backpack and books, running out of the tower before either of them could see how upset she was.

Lorelei frowned as Amanda ran out of the tower. She wasn't sure what Hildegard had whispered, but she was pretty sure it wasn't too pleasant
"That was probably unnecessary" she said, turning to Hildegard "Both the getting in trouble remark and what ever it was you whispered to her. I mean, I know there's a house rivalry, but we don't have to be straight up mean because of it." She looked back at the door. "I get that you seem to have something to prove" she continued "And I can even understand why. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm certain that that-' she motioned to the doorway, to indicate what had just gone down "I'm pretty sure that is not what you want to prove. You basically put yourself in a box of house stereotypes there. And, I mean, on the train, you said you were worried that if you got Slytherin or Griffindor people from the other house would dislike you for no reason. Well, you're Slytherin, and that Griffindor girl was ready to try and be friends." Lorelei shook her head
"We should try and stop her" she added "She might get in trouble, after all, the main problem is being out of our dorms at night. She's more likely to be caught if she's wandering the halls instead of sitting in a classroom. I'd feel bad if she got in trouble" she paused, and added, in case Hildegard wouldn't want to help Amanda for that reason "And she may tell a professor or prefect we're in here".
Int truth, Lorelei really did want to help Amanda. She didn't see the point in making enemies or hurting people because of the house they're in.

Hildegard listened to Lorelei's sermon, the way she was analyzing things did not please her the least.
Wasn't the point of whispering not to be heard ? Did not she save both of them the trouble of being punished ?
As she felt that justifying would only put her in more sermon, trouble and so on the Slytherin decided not to explain herself, she was quite scared of trouble after all and scared to face the Gryffindor too.
Not to mention that Hildegard never did expect such reaction from the lion girl.
The coward one was sitting on the ground looking at the Ravenclaw that was waiting for actions or at least a reply.
Hildegard gave a big sigh before showing to Lorelei her limping leg.
-Even if I wanted to get back at her for her not to get in trouble i would not be able to Lorelei, you can see it I can't run nor walk very fast.
-That's it ! that is the best excuse ever ! I don't even need to lie !She thought to herself.
Yet Hildegard did not want to appear as a complete asshole, therefor she thought of something to add.
- You should be the one to get her back to us, I'm sure that if you go fast enough you can catch up with her.

Lorelei looked at Hildegard, and shook her head slightly.
"I'll be back" She sighed, and dashed out of the tower room as quick as she could. She spotted Amanda part way down the spiral stairs and called out
"Amanda, wait!" she hurried to catch up with the Griffindor girl. "Look, I'm sorry about what happened up there. I don't want any of us to get in trouble, and I don't think you would have been at fault if we had. We all have quite a walk back to our dorms, so if you'd like to join us and talk, and you know, hopefully, avoid professors and such that would get us in trouble, it'd be great. I'll try to do better actively mediating if house rivalry flares up again." she rubbed her arm awkwardly, hoping Amanda wasn't too mad about what happened.
"And, if you don't want to join us, at least let me give you tips on how to get back to your common room without getting caught. I don't want anyone to get in trouble" She paused, hoping she would at least be able to be helpful in some way tonight. She took a deep breath, realizing how close to tears she herself was. she felt awful about how things went down, and while she'd tried to make things better, it seemed she'd made it worse somehow.

Amanda made her way down the steep spiral stairs in a hurry. She had barely noticed the tear lingering on her cheek, her emotions running wild. She had no idea why Hildegard was so unkind while Lorelei seemed so friendly towards her. She went through the interaction in her head, trying to come up with a liable reason why she could have upset her so badly. Maybe it was because she had tried to defend herself against her snide comment about lions. Maybe she should have kept silent. She was pulled from her thoughts when she heard Lorelei shout from behind her. She slowed, grabbing onto the railing with one hand and turning around. She listened, sniffling and wiping her nose.
Her brow furrowed at the mention of why Hildegard was angry. "Y-you mean... that's why she was being mean..? Did she think I would get us all in trouble with the Professors..?" She asked, looking genuinely confused.
The second part of what she said confused her even more, there were reasons for the lack of kindness between them? She had no idea beforehand, figuring that she did something to offend or upset Hildegard. "And what do you mean by house rivalry..? Do some of the houses not get along with each other?"
Before she gave Lorelei a chance to answer her questions, she nodded, forcing a small smile.
"T-thank you for the offer.. I think I will, as long as it wouldn't upset her any further..." Amanda wanted to avoid any future conflict, especially for reasons she had absolutely no control over.

Lorelei blinked at Amanda's question about house rivalry
"You mean you haven't heard?" she asked "Apparently there's this long standing rivalry between Griffindor and Slytherin. Supposedly it started al the way back with the founders, but that's probably just a legend. It was supposed to And to be completely honest, I'm not sure why Hildegard said that, but yeah, I think it was probably just worry we would get in trouble" Lorelei felt bad speaking for Hildegard, after all, she truly didn't know, "In any case, yes, you can come up and join us." she hoped things would go well when they got back to the tower. She wend to shift her bag on her shoulder, and realized she must have dropped it back in the tower. She turned to head back up the stairs, and paused glancing back.
"So, you going to join us?" she tried her best to sound inviting, grinning back at Amanda, nodding for her to follow. "I promise I'll try to make sure things don't escalate this time. I can be more careful, so I don't accidentally, I dunno, encourage anything escalating." she started up the stairs, slowly, giving Amanda time to follow or catch up.
