Team One & Two Complete

Nick stood there dumbly in the center of the ring as the event unfolded in front of him. They were the first group to fight, and, naturally, it had devolved into chaos. Half of the team had booked it, trying to find their way out of a mess that he felt they would have to fight their way through. The other half were either watching the mess unfold from the outside, or fighting with some probably personal deputes.

Nick held onto that last part, turning to the two boys, one of which had just punched the other. Those two and him were the only three people fighting, though Nick hadn't quite yet got the chance to throw a punch. He was definitely the third wheel in this scenario, though it is a bit dark to think you're the outlier in a group of people trying to KO each other.

Looking at his knuckles, and back at the two boys fighting, Nick decided to leave. He wouldn't try to get out like most people, he would just wait for it to all be over. He hoped that would be a better outcome than rendering himself unconscious or getting lost in whatever contraption they had set up for the exit. Walking out of the arena, he picked up his shoes, shirt, and wand, and walked over to where all the other teams were waiting.
Nick has left the ring

When Ileen noticed the marks on the floor another cold shiver ran down her spine and she had to fight down the rising anxiety. As a fresh year she knew nothing about runes except that they were not to be taken lightly and should be handled very carefully. Something really bad was happening here - something that was way beyond her knowledge.
Her focus shifted back to @Victor Moore as he told her, hissed at her, to move. She could see that he was in pain and immediately a strong feeling of powerlessness came over her. Here she was, trying to become a healer and yet she couldn’t do anything to help that broken boy who was clearly suffering even though he assured her that he was fine. If he would bother to catch her gaze he would see the compassion, helplessness and agony in her eyes. But she couldn’t do anything since she didn't even understand what was going on here.
Running sounds good.” She stopped and gave him another serious look. “You should come with us to get… help.” The young Slytherin was almost sure that he wouldn’t listen to that, but that was all she could do.

She turned towards the crowd, ready to make her way back to the entrance and out of here as she heard the sound of a punch behind her. And contrary to her original decision, she stopped. She could go now, find her friends and try to escape, but something was holding her back. Two voices in her head, speaking to her which forced her to reconsider the situation.
The first and loudest one was from her teacher of trust, Professor Vernatis (@Artemis Vernatis). ”You have to feel what is right and what is wrong inside of your own heart. I know it will be hard to do since you are completely blind about whatever it was your parents did in the past to give them a bad name, but just do any good that comes naturally to you.” These had been his exact words that had driven her to choose the path of the healer, a path she had sworn to try to fulfil. If she would leave now, she wouldn’t have harmed anyone, but she wouldn’t have done something good for these idiots either.

The second voice was connected to her fortune telling with Professor Kibitzer (@Rosalind Kibitzer) a few weeks ago. When Ileen had asked her if she and her friend Dealla could have a good influence on the school, she had approved. Ileen hadn’t anticipated that she would end up in such a situation as the fight club, but hadn’t she sworn to step into this responsibility? Maybe this was her first test - maybe it was time to act instead of running away.
God damn it!” Ileen clenched her hands as the truth sank into her like ink into an untouched parchment. She didn’t like most of her housemates, not at all. But she wouldn’t leave them behind in a dangerous situation like this.

Though deeply reluctant, she whipped around, just in time to see Perce punching Hanako. Idiots! Quickly the brunette girl ran back to the ring and ducked under the barrier. The fact that she was returning for her housemates once more gave away how concerned she was. As she passed @Wyatt Starkey, she glanced at him. "Something is very wrong here. It looks like a ritual or something. Help me get them out of here. Please." The truth was told by her eyes. Hopefully, he would listen to her. But she wouldn’t stop to wait for a reaction or reply.
Instead, she threw herself between the two friends (@Percival Rainwood& @Hanako Tone), her tent mates, who suddenly seemed to be fighting for some reason. She tried to push herself between them to separate them with her body and reached out a hand to each of them to stop them.
Her brown eyes were fixed on Percival and the fear she was fighting was reflected in them. “Please stop. We gotta get out of here. This… is some kind of ritual or something. We need to leave.” They were no friends but in her voice worry and fear was clearly audible. Hopefully he could assess her well enough by now to know that she would not return for nothing.
She glanced back at Victor and raised one hand. “Team one resigns!” She didn’t care if the others were okay with this decision. If they attacked her, they would get what they deserved after all. Hopefully they would listen to her and leave.

[font=times new roman]Wyatt hadn’t really moved from his spot standing sort of by the girl he’d spoke to earlier. The whole situation was unlike anything he’d experienced before, and it seemed that the event wasn’t something most of his peers were familiar with either. He didn’t know what to do, who to speak to, or where to go. Wouldn’t the entrance/exit be sealed by now? Would they be stuck forever? A voice pulled him away from his thoughts soon enough.

"Something is very wrong here." Wyatt scoffed, thinking to himself, you think? "It looks like a ritual or something. Help me get them out of here. Please." Before he could reply, she was long gone. Wyatt saw something out of the corner of his eye, though. Rainwood, punching Hanako Tone in the face. Damn it, Percival. Wyatt walked to where Hanako was standing- no, more like swaying.

The girl who’d just stated the obvious a few seconds ago was standing between the boys. Wyatt caught the last sentence "We need to leave." Wyatt got closer to Hanako, and said “We’re all leaving, Tone.” Though he didn’t speak in such a nice tone, he made sure to grab his fellow Slytherin’s arm quite gently. Rainwood was so dim-witted. He just made everything far more difficult than it ever had to be by punching Hanako.

Wyatt was really hoping he wouldn’t have to drag Tone back to the surface. That would be annoying, and even though Hanako didn’t really seem to be in the best state of mind to do anything, Wyatt knew the boy wouldn’t be able to keep his mouth shut the whole way back. He heard the girl from his team say they forfeit. Good, it’s official. Now, back to the Tone disaster. Oh, Merlin. The tone disaster…

After giving a dirty look to Rainwood, Wyatt turned his attention back to Hanako. “Can you get back yourself or do you need me to drag you up there,” he asked with a snarky tone, though he was really offering his help. He imagined Tone hated being pitied as much as Wyatt did, so Wyatt decided to stay away from the word help. He imagined Hanako would find comfort in the familiarity of the disinterested tone Wyatt always used.

It was as if time had slowed down to a minuscule speed. Like Percival had a front-row seat to watch his fist slam into his ex-friend's face. His feelings felt jumbled and out of order. Percival felt a rush of euphoria before falling into nervousness and apprehension. Though in the back of his mind, a small part of him could not get rid of the fact that he still enjoyed it. Taking out his anger on other's had always been a habit of his. He wouldn't consider the act to be theraputic, but he would be lying to himself if he said he didn't feel at least a little better.

The boy stood in front of Hanako with a dumbfounded look on his face. His mind was still trying to catch up with the events that had just taken place. As the boy came down from his adrenaline high, he could feel the throbbing in his hand. Accompanied with the throbbing was the feeling like his hand was bleeding even though it clearly wasn't.

Percival's lips parted as if he wanted to say something, but he couldn't come up with anything to say. His fist had said it all. They were done. Finished. At that thought, Percival's heart ached and he truly wondered if he had made the correct choice. Though it wasn't like he could do much now. Their relationship had just hit the rocky shore. Causing all members aboard to perish upon impact. Percival narrowed his eyes at the other boy before taking a small step back as Ileen pushed herself between them. His gaze focused on her and a simmering dread crept up on him in the depths of his stomach. "What?" he asked confusion seeping into his tone. Percival's earlier anger had fizzled out as Ileen's tone got to him. The boy didn't know how she knew this was some kind of ritual, but he doubted she would lie about this. Especially with the amount of inflection in her voice. Unless, this was some sort of ploy to seperate the two from causing any further damage, physical or emotional, to one another. Though he doubted Ileen would lie to them about the apparent danger they were or would be in soon.

The boy watched with little interest as Ileen threw in the towel. Percival wasn't too sure he could continue this fight anyways. Most of his anger was gone after punching Hanako. It was as if the force of the punch had sucked away the majority of his anger. Percival didn't bother trying to help Wyatt collect Hanako. The two weren't friends both had said it, and his punch had sealed the deal. Percival glared back at Wyatt indignation burning in his gut. He didn't know why it was his fault for punching Hanako, the other had it coming. Percival didn't remember Wyatt being upset at Hanako after the other had publically humiliated him. Though he had also been too overcome by his anger to truly notice. Percival huffed before turning away from the three. "Whatever you say Ileen." he said before exiting the ring.

[font=PT Sans]So the first punch, Hanako wanted to hallucinate. He was basically in a state of trance at how the image of Percival- wrath and blinded by fury- took an actual swing at him. A reasonable swing from the harsh words he blurted out earlier. But still a swing Hanako evaded with ease yet the pain was still there. Somewhere in his chest, it felt icky. Many times he jokes to himself about carving it out. A hassle to feel too much, so why keep the main source of his uncomfortably? But his heart was vital for him to live and he intends to do more of that. But at the moment where Rainwood had echoed the same words Hana said many times before, he was unsure. An “ I wish I never met you” had never stabbed him so much. He felt like a hypocrite as well for wishing to never hear it again.

While in his blank stare and tranced state, he appeared not to be much of a noodle anymore when he was actually hit. Appearing like nothing scared him was a hobby of his. White lies were part of a conversation with him and exaggerating everything was a past time. Some people assumed a kid like him must’ve encountered trouble here and there. While that was true, he was basically untouchable with the backup of his jerk of a dad back in his neighborhood. So basically, in a world where we were just another emotionally troubled kid forced into a fighting ring, he was doomed.

To put it shortly, his pain tolerance was extremely low.

For him, everything went too fast. The 2nd swing, his spinning vision, and an 90 unfamiliar taste in his mouth, being unable to stop his body from being swung to the other side. All of it felt so surreal that he would’ve taken a few moments to experience the painful effects if not for room taking him up for a spin he never wanted. Due to the unfamiliar pain, he unconsciously let out an agitated groan, hands on his head and eyes closed as if it would ease the pain and regain his balance. News flash, it didn’t.

Too many thoughts and too little mental energy to acknowledge them had him missing out on crucial conversations happening behind him. Not that it mattered. He feared if his eyes opened again, he’d meet another second of a spinning room. There he hunched over, still, helpless and clearly not okay. The moment he attempted another try at opening his eyes was when he felt a gentle grip on his arm and a raspy voice that he recalled sounded much nicer in Parseltongue.

Starkey said something about leaving? Good! Leave him here! Just like his parents. How his parent issues were even remembered was beyond him. Couldn’t people just leave him quicker? That was the problem with Percival right? He deserved those words for everything he did. For secretly thinning out his patience for Hanako. For heeding warnings and red flags. For...staying by his side all this time? Hey now that he think about it, didn't he used to have more team members the last time he checked?

Wyatt snarkily questioned Hanako’s ability to walk to the exit, which was definitely better than asking politely. Pity was the last thing he needed and if anyone else saw him as helpless for being the first one that got hit or the only one that got hit, to be fair he swore he was going to scream. While he might have concluded he had everything under control, his mind was too frantic to come up with an answer that required a full sentence so all he decided to do was,

Hiiiiisssss!” he hissed at Starkey. For people around him that could hear his hiss, there could be two options. Hanako being so out of his mind that he was suddenly a really good hisser or he had been practicing his hissing out of all the things he could’ve practiced instead. Other opinions were welcomed but knowing his rep at school, it wouldn’t come as a surprise that he practiced this to ward people off. It was really simply just a realistic hiss.

One even a parseltongue like Wyatt would interpreted as a mere ‘ hiss ‘. . Later in the future he would reflect his actions in shame but that time is not now. Despite his childish answer, his distaste for any help was obvious. But what he wished for was not what his body needed. And right now that body was trying to get any support it could to stop wobbling.

[27] Dan Palmer - Gone
[5] Bridget Collins - Gone
[29] Caelan Stewart - left the ring
[15] Margo White - did nothing. Has no posted in months in this thread. Presumed inactive.

@@Caelan Stewart was not interested in fighting. No words of defiance. No declarations of justice or revenge, he simply grabbed what was his and left the arena. To the disappointment of the crowd most certainly but that was the only consequence. No pain. No loss except perhaps to his ego and only there if he valued the aspirations of those who bothered to remain in the ring. No, it was not necessary to stay. To fight a war that was irrelevant to him.

@Ileen Knight had never entered the ring. She was still standing next to Victor. Finally she would abide, abide by his desperate plea. “Running sounds good,” she finally agreed. It was a simple notion, move ones feet until they could move no longer. Get some distance between oneself and whatever might threaten. “You should come with us to get… help.”

Her notion was met with a hard silence. A clenched jaw and tense shoulders. His voice came out in halting single words, "I... can't." No reason given, no elaboration. Not even an apology from the selfish youth who had marked them, made this into a show and... just stood there are watched.

She rushed to some boy, @Wyatt Starkey. Perhaps he was a boy that meant something to the girl. He was on the other team. One of the many friends split from those they found comfort near. She probably liked him, a normal-seeming youth Victor never knew. Perhaps that was for the best, knowing him only led to disaster it would seem.

"Something is very wrong here... It looks like a ritual or something. Help me get them out of here. Please."

What she said must have stirred something inside of him. The boy had been staring off into thin air for some time now. She had indicated to Victor that she was leaving, at least that was how he took it, but that was not entirely true. She did not run away despite sounding agreeable. Despite the Slytherin's pleas. She rushed back into the ring and stood between Percival and Hanako. He felt a pain, this sharp sensation in his chest. It was hard to breathe, as if he whatever air he put into his lungs was just leaking out. Escaping. A voice would call out to her but it would lack in power, his voice never reached the girl.

“Please stop. We gotta get out of here. This… is some kind of ritual or something. We need to leave.

Something was happening in this basement and whatever it was, it could not be good. She did not know a great deal about the deathly-ill appearing boy. Just the rumors and his small-seeming presence. His deference to someone named Vladimir. The animosity his presence had garnered from his housemates and peers. The unfathomable resources that were apparently at his, or someone who was working through him's disposal.

She would have back-up from Wyatt. Who would have thought a boy with a strength of 3 would be the 'muscle', but in this case there was perhaps strength in numbers. “We’re all leaving, Tone.”

No friendly salutations, no words of sympathy or support. Just, we're out of here. A demand. An order.

Ileen would make a declaration for the team. One that she had no power to make. “Team one resigns!” Power is not God-given, it is given and it is taken. @Percival Rainwood had given Ileen power over him as he complied. His vigor, his wrath, his ambition forfeited to her with a mere word. It was over, they were leaving. They had forfeited.

"Whatever you say Ileen."

Percival would trudge off.

Wyatt would offer to assist Hanako and be met with a hiss.

Silence would follow. An uncomfortable and long silence. Then a weak cough accompanied by a wheeze at the edge of the ring would draw attention to the young ringmaster. He would enter the ring with a loping gait, his shoulders hunched slightly he would straight his twisted carriage and stand to his full height that was still not particularly impressive. Rather average for a teen his age with a cacophony of pops and clicks as his vertebrae fell into place. "Team Two, Number Ten. The sole winner of the first match." There was a power in the voice, a confidence in the stride however it was merely for show as he continued with the 'game.' Next team. Next match. Moving on!

Hanako is moving onto the next match. The lone representative of Team 2.
