Theodore was an unorganized mess. Somehow everything turned out wrong to begin with.
First the young Thunderbird had been running up and down nervously in the Hogwarts' boys lavatory. Hundreds of unknown familiar around him he truly started to feel like an outlander in this place, despite his excitement. He didn't belong here, he was merely a tourist mixing with the locals, trying to fit in.

Not that this sudden flash of anxiety wouldn't cause him to pull out of this event, not in a lifetime. A ball! And he could find the courage to ask out a Durmstrang girl who he barely knew and who's language he didn't speak, so he would definitely not let her wait either.
Looking at the mirror, he felt excited and unsure at the same time.
The outfit OOC: How do you call this coat thing, I googled myself to death unsuccessfully! looked quite alright on him, fitting the vampire theme he was going with.

Theo had never shown a lot of interest in girls. Sure, two of his housemates he considered friends, were girls and yes, of course he wasn't blind to attractive human beings, but he never cared about relationships and romances and such. They were simply friends.
Greta was fascinating somehow. The language and... well, she seemed to be from a whole different world. He appreciated his comrades in Ilvermorny, but this was just different.
He couldn't call Greta a friend really, for that they didn't know each other long enough. Also, what did he know about her?
Still, if he got the chance, he would try to change that.

His entrance to the ball was a disaster. Theo hadn't even noticed that he entered the wrong location, but suddenly he had been surrounded by fancy looking kids with masks. They were wearing masks. Suddenly Theo felt very ridiculous with his fake vampire teeth and the make up.
Luckily he was ten minutes early, so he had time to get back to the bathroom and wash it off. And he managed to organize himself a mask, luckily one of his dormmates brought two.
So he came back and finally realized that he was not in the rehearsal room. Why on earth would there be two parties? It was so confusing...

When he finally made his way to the Rehearsal Room, he was late. Only three minutes, but still., he had tried so hard to be on time...
Well, time to find his date then.

Having forgotten to prepare a suitable costume for the party, and being forgetful always a part of his plans, the lad had spent all afternoon adhering pipe cleaners and tissue paper to one of his favorite green sweaters. His sweater was going to be totally ruined as a result of his arts and crafts project, but the pay off would be clearly worth it when he posed with Minerva. A saguaro cactus was the only thing he could think of with the time he had left, but being able to take Minerva with him to the party would make him feel a whole lot more at ease.

Donning the prick pinned sweater, and inviting Minerva to join him by outstretching his arm as one would offer at a formal dance, Sylvain made his way to the rehearsal room. Of course not before one last check to ensure he had everything he needed. Wand, shoes, extra pair of socks, satchel, Minerva... "OH!" he exclaimed aloud to nobody but himself before turning back to his trunk of treats. The lad then refilled his satchel with chocolate frogs. Far too many for such a short event. That was the best he could do, prepare for whatever journey the night offered, and bring lots of chocolate.

As he arrived to the party, Sylvain quickly took note of the mountain of chocoballs. That and the sight of Pericles watching the door like a falcon. Presumably he was there to make sure none of the other students wandered off with a treat or a trick unintended for the rest of the castle. A noble endeavor, and a responsible one. He thought it best to offer his support to Pericles in that moment, at the very least he could offer to help keep an eye out for trouble.

"Hey Peri," he said realizing the prefect was likely to go without much in the way of thanks for his efforts tonight, including those to come. "Thanks for everything." A slight, knowing smile would creep across his face as he gave thanks.

"I'll be over by there with the tricks..." he added a pause for comedic effect, "Keeping an eye on stuff..." In Syl's mind, there was no doubt he would be eating too much candy tonight, even if it killed him. "I like your costume," he said while fading back into the party, "you look exquisite."

Making his way to the snack table like a bear to a pot of honey, Sylvain passed by a couple he recognized, Willow Anderson and her date Jack Warren. Giving them each a cactus pose greeting and attempting to elicit laughter, he introduced himself. "Hey, you must be Jack Warren, I'm Sylvain" he would smile at Jack and wink reassuringly at Willow. "Nice to finally meet you after hearing so much about you." As Sylvain would move towards the snack table near the two, he would wait beside them quietly as he scanned the room for Remi. Minerva on his shoulder with both of her eyes on Jack and Willow.

He figured he would try a chocoball while he waited for Remi. What had Remi wanted so many chocolate frogs for anyways?

"It's the Dance!"
Remi told himself in the hall as he was racing his little behind onto going to the Rehearsal Room. It's been a pretty awesome couple of weeks, of messaging his parents about a costume for the fall dance. Nothing too crazy, however, his parents had the usual pure-blood pride and with that. His 'costume' wasn't a costume but appeared for something for a literal African Ball.

Wearing a sleek black fabric, or dashiki, with a red strip in the middle of it.

This, however, was something Remi didn't really care about. No-no-no, today! Tonight is going to be real speical. Holding onto a satchel onto his person as he looked around, near the entrance of the party. If anyone who was looking at him, there would be a paper mache gray little elephant hat with tusks coming from his hat.

Though, it appeared to be something moving. No, not the hat but the satchel it was holding. It appeared to, someone inside of it, appeared to be moving inside of the little bag but it couldn't be anything too seriously. Not trying to wave over Syl as he saw him near the food, throwing some little food balls into his mouth.

Walking up to him, in a half-whispered, making very-very sure that no one was either looking at him and say,
"I got the thing."
He said, glancing at bag and back at Syl with a sleek smile, his tonuge peeking out of his smile.

Walking into the rehearsal room was not an un-usual activity for Jo, but since it had been decorated wit bats, pumpkins and so much more Jo thought that the room must have gotten considerable bigger. She had walked into the Rehearsal Room with what might have been called a "date" by Jo, but being 11 years old she would have opted to call it a Friendly interaction with Her best friend (and crush) Riley Arcite.

The only reason Jo and Riley were here but not thee masquerade was because In Jo's opinion Wearing sweaters and Jeans didn't very fit in with the gowns and smockings of Most of the participants. Considering the Looks on the others faces it almost felt like Halloween, one of Jo's favourite holidays, mainly because it was an excuse to stay home and read something. Jo smiled to herself as she looked around the room. Since the Other schools students arrived she expected for Hogwarts to be overflowing with students and action, but it was the opposite to be very true it was more orderly maybe because of all the other adults that arrived?

Jo turned her head to Riley, they hadn't really spoken in a few days, which was a bit on the rare side for them, they liked to spend a lot of time, especially together, but since they were going to the ball and we're AT the ball together Having and conersation wouldn't hurt.
" I really like this place, it seems somewhat cheerful to me"Jo smiled and looked at Riley.

Akari hadn't noticed that Drew snuck up behind her so was pretty surprised when she felt somebody tap her shoulder and she automatically turned her head to see who had done so, but upon seeing no one she had started to look back towards Jess when in her peripheral she saw a figure standing on her other side which caused her to turn and then lock eyes with Drew. Her face changed from slightly startled to a cheerful one right away. She looked up at him with a big smile spread across her face that matched his. When he held out his hand to her she immediately accepted it, happily placing her hand in his. Oh how grown up she had felt in that moment when he had kissed her hand.

Instead of dropping his hand right after she decided to let it linger for a while longer.
She looked at him in his suit, all dressed up and thought he looked really elegant and gentlemanly and wanted to tell him, but didn't really know how to phrase it properly.
He had beat her to it by complimenting her first, which only made her smile all the more radiant.
"Thank you...You too-" Her eyes widened slightly. Why the heck had she said you too?. Well, that was cringeworthy but she quickly swallowed her embarrassment and then continued as she slowly lowered her hand with a nervous chuckle and really hoped he knew that she meant more than what she stammered out "Er- what I meant to say was, you also clean up nicely"

She then tried to distract herself from how she completely failed at playing it "cool" by thinking about her outfit and how it wasn't completely tied together just yet since she was still holding her mask in her hand. She wasn't whether she should put it on right away since it somewhat obstructed her view and she really wanted to take in everything around her so she eventually decided to just put it on once they would make their way over to the Masquerade.

She internally face-palmed herself for forgetting to introduce Jess and Drew so she was happy when Drew took the initiative to do so then added for a more formal introduction "Right, sorry. As he said, Jess this is Drew. He is a student visiting from Ilvermorny. And Drew this is my best friend Jess"

The memories of the previous Halloween ball still made him somewhat uneasy. However, having somebody to go with made it much less likely that he would get snogged by a certain maniac, at least in his mind. Not to mention that his sense of confidence had grown exponentially throughout the first year. plus, he was going to have a good time if it killed him. Which not for the lack of trying, it probably could.

Halloween was always a good time, and Jack was a fan of becoming something fantastic and fictional. Dressing up was like a guilty pleasure for the boy. He generally liked to keep an 'I don't care' vibe about himself, but it was hard not to get excited. A grin plastered itself on the boy's face as he glanced down at Willow in her Alice costume. The words 'Cute as a button!' rang through his head. It was something that his mother would have said, but Jack very much agreed with the sentiment. His own Mad Hatter costume had just been a mashup of different colors and ideas. A cyan paisley vest, under a very rough and patchwork red coat. An oversized multicolored bowtie was wrapped around his neck and knotted in a very loosey-goosey fashion. The overcoat has plaid patches all across the arms, elbows, and back, along with multiple unseemly looking tears and rips. Atop the boy's head sat a large tophat, with a mess of pins and fabrics, along with the classic 10/6 card. The boy decided to leave the mask in his jacket pocket while they were at the costume party. It would be perfectly valid to say he looked a bit cooky and ramshackle.

As the two entered the Rehearsal Room, Jack slyly slipped his hand into Willows. It was supposed to be subtle, but the second that Willow had caught sight of the snack table, the act was anything but subtle. A laugh erupted from the boy as they finally found their resting place beside the table. "I don' know, good ol' mugs' can get pretty crazy- I bet they make ya' howl like a dog, or sprout cat whiskers" He guessed, but the possibilities were endless. "I bet if we eat too much, we might just explode. Magic's a bit funny like tha'" The nonchalant shrug that followed was a Jack Warren specialty.

Suddenly a pipe cleaner monstrosity made an appearance. Jack had no clue what to make of the boy, but he didn't really mind. If he wanted to look like he got hit by a dump truck full of pipe cleaners, more power to him. "I sure am! It's good ta' meet 'chya, Sylvain." The boy grinned at Syl's entrance and stuck out his hand for the boy to shake. "I 'ope you're not too prickly for a handshake, are ya'?" The prefect was immensely proud of his little joke, and he followed Syl's lead. Popping a chocoball into his mouth with little restraint.

The fourth year was ready for the day, he had missed the ball the previous ball but had told him to not miss any more social events. After all those where the places where you met new people and made new friends. He was sure that this day would be memorable and he hoped to see a few of his friends again. He had asked George whether he would be there but the Hufflepuff had not been sure if he wanted to attend yet, but Alan hoped that his friend would change his mind. Who knew, maybe this ball would end up being nice against all odds.

If people were to see him enter into the rehearsal ballroom they would quickly notice that he had been dressed not only for one but both of the parties. He was just here to check if there was anyone here that he knew but the Gryffindor was dressed into a dragon costume just... that not everything seemed like just a costume. Perhaps it was a magical costume but the scaly wings and the slightly swishing dragon tail certainly seemed lively as the wings fluttered slightly. Even the claws on his feet seemed to be made of a life-like material. The additions to his human frame seemed to vanish beneath a red suit which made it difficult to actually tell what was going on. In his hands the fourth year was holding Tiger who had been dressed in a matching costume, a little dinosaur. There was no need to be concerned as the feline seemed fully comfortable in his outfit. He noticed Pericles but only gave him a wave and a smile as he seemed already quite busy with the event.

Then the fourth year would see a couple of students he was actually familiar with and his eyes lit up as he made his way over past Pericles with the tricky treats. He inwardly shrugged off any worry and took one of the chocolate frogs from within the bowl and thanked the prefect and wished him a nice evening. Why not, they are just treats right? He would help Tiger up so that he could perch on his shoulders making the feline loom over him like a protector which made the Gryffindor chuckle. As he arrived he had already unwrapped the chocolate frog and eaten it. However as he was passing the buffet he couldn't help but noice those tricky treats again and grabbed a pumpkin pastry that he was now slowly eating as he approached his friends. "Hey," he greeted his friends with a slight grin on his face. He was truly happy to see them here. "Have you also just arrived?" Willow and him shared a quick hug which was their usual greeting at this point. Alan was careful not to hurt her with the dragon "gloves" as the claws actually looked sharp so he had to be careful. But everything went over smoothly and he stepped back again smiling at her before holding out his hand to Jack and then Sylvain. After all he had seen Jack first because of how tall he was. With not much more thought he would finish the last bits of the pastry, wiping his hands clean on a napkin even though that proved to be quite difficult due to his attire.

As time passed and the minutes bled into hours, the little knot in Jess's stomach started to expand exponentially. It hadn't really been hours, of course, but even then ten or so minutes that the Hufflepuff had been standing and waiting in the Rehearsal Room seemed to feel like eternity to the girl. She clenched her hands nervously, despaired at her lack of something to fiddle with, as she watched more and more people filter into the room- people, who while were dressed very fancifully and were sure to capture Jess's attention if she had been trying to occupy her mind with that, were nevertheless people that Jess's didn't know. Until-

"Akari!" Jess squealed in a high pitched voice most uncharacteristic of herself. "God," she laughed as she neared the girl she considered her best friend at Hogwarts. "I meant to ask you to come to this with me but then I forgot and I wasn't sure you were coming and I thought I would have to be here alone and-" She stopped, seeming to notice for the first time what Akari actually had on. "Wait. Woah. Akari, wow. You look gorgeous!" She grinned as Akari returned the sentiment, glad that at least one person had noticed her outfit for that day. Yet- a small rise of jealousy started to blossom in her chest as she looked over her friend's appearance again... right up until Jess's loyalty to Akari and determination to not let this evening be ruined by self doubt climbed on top of that jealousy and stuck a sword right through its chest. Taking a small breath, Jess told herself again that she looked like a freaking snack and shouldn't worry about her appearance.

Looking up, Jess saw Akari glancing back and forth between her and the entrance to the room, almost as if she was waiting for someone. Her eyebrows scrunching slightly, Jess wondered who it could be the girl was waiting for- other friends? A date, even? But as a boy came up to them and snuck behind Akari, it became abundantly clear who he was. Too caught up in her guesses of who the boy could be to actually warn Akari of his appearance, Jess watched with a slight raise of her eyebrows as Akari turned to the boy, positively beaming, and allowed him to kiss her hand. Interesting. The Hufflepuff grinned at Akari's spluttered reply to the boy's compliment, thinking it rather cute. Her smile only deepened as Akari introduced Jess as her best friend, and all her doubts from earlier about her appearance and whether people would want to hang out with her or not seemed to vanish at once. It was a commonality in Jess's life for her to value a friendship more than the recipient of her platonic and occasionally romantic love did, and hearing somebody call her their best friend was enough to give the girl a surge of happiness so bright she thought she might explode.

"Hi, Drew," said Jess, happiness seeping into her words as she failed to hide her absolute ecstasy at Akari's previous seemingly offhanded statement. "So... you and Akari are... friends, are you?" She wanted to ask if they were dating, but also couldn't really just go ahead and say "are you dating?" so that was the best solution she had come up with. Jess didn't exactly want to threaten Drew during their first conversation together, but she hoped her little "are you" had been enough to imply to him that if he ever hurt Akari, that would certainly not be the last he would be seeing of Jess.

Nick confidently stepped through the fourth floor halls, his dress shoes excitedly clicking on the floor. There was something about having a mask on and being a character, despite everyone knowing it's you, that can make you feel like you can do anything. And for a guy who was constantly worried he would be seen as too gentle, too flamboyant, or, god forbid, too feminine, this was just what he needed. In this costume, Nick felt like his charming, gentleman-like persona he was currently taking on.

This costume had taken on many stages because Nick didn't really know what to go as. He didn't want to just wear a generic themed suit and mask, but he also didn't want to go dressed as a pumpkin or something. His mother never really let him watch television all that much, so he didn't have much to go off of. However, there was one comic - Nick thought they were called... mangas? - that his mom had given him while she was going through her stuff called "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon".

Nick didn't know why his mom had this or why she had given it to him, it was a pretty girly comic. He didn't remember loving it, but while he was thinking of what to wear for the ball, he remembered one of the characters, Tuxedo Mask. He was pretty much just the love interest for the main character, but he was still a rather charming character that would be fun to dress as.

So, Nick wearing a three-piece tuxedo with a black cape with a red interior, velvet top hat, and a red rose to top it off, wasn't just him being more dapper than usual. As he approached the two rooms, he didn't even consider the thought of going to the ball itself first. No, he would go to the costume party in the rehearsal room, full of Nick's one true love in life, candy.

Stepping into the rehearsal room, Nick was greeted by the amazing decor that comes with Halloween, along with the amazing smells. He immediately ran over to the snack table and looked at the selection in front of him. He took a cauldron cake and shoved it in his face happily before turning to the rest of the room. Out of all the people, he spotted Robert, the guy he met while he was grooming Chance, his little pygmy puff, wearing a great banana costume.

Nick was feeling bold today, probably because of the costume, so he decided to approach someone he didn't know. The person who stuck out in the crowd most to him was a small redheaded girl in a black cat costume. She seemed to be off to herself, and while that could be her choice, he wanted to make sure that she had company if that would make her enjoy herself more.

Approaching the girl, Nick started to get nervous, how was he supposed to greet her? Should he just say hi? Do something in character? He looked to the rose he was holding, pretty enough as he was pretty good at Transfiguration spells. Girls like roses right? And guys give them to girls? He gulped before he finally got close enough to the girl to talk to her. "Wuld ye like this madame? A charmin' rose fur a charmin' lady." Nick said, extending the rose to her, his accent probably muddling up his attempt to be charismatic.

Akari's surprised expression that melted into pure joy was all too worth it. She was stammering and tripping over her words that never really ever became full thoughts. Then she called him gorgeous. Of course, it was by accident, but all the same, Drew grinned, waiting for her to correct herself to say what she really meant. "Thank you."

Maybe he should stop surprising her so she didn't have to grab hold of her bearings every time, shifting from shy, bashful, stammering Akari to the regular Akari. Maybe he should stop startling her or sneaking up on her,

Nah.

Akari introduced the other girl as her best friend, Jess. She held that tone in her voice that said "If you ever break her heart, I will break your face." Which was reasonable. They were best friends, after all. Drew wouldn't punch a girl if they broke Gregori, his best friend's heart, but he was pretty sure he would tell that girl to stay the heck away from them. The only thing was that Akari had just as much power to break Drew's heart as he did hers. There were a lot of stories of boys being not so loyal to their girlfriends, but Drew was sure that there were just as many boys whose heart had been broken.
Not that they were dating, anyway. "Yeah, we're just friends," 'for now.' Drew was not quite sure why his mind had added those last two words, and he erased them from the sentence, glad he hadn't said it out loud. Just friends.

He hadn't even realized how her hand was still in his.

"I like your costume," he told Jess. "You're an angel, right? Like, the costume." Wearing Vans, apparently.

Where were Elisabeth and Gregori?
