Bad days suck, that's basic knowledge everyone knows. Currently, Amelia was having a bad day. It was the first day of October, everyone was starting to get excited for Halloween and the upcoming Autumn Ball. Everyone except Amelia though, this morning someone had spilled pumpkin juice over her during breakfast. Then in Transfiguration, she couldn't get the transfiguration correct and she was overwhelmed with the amount of homework she had to complete. Luck was not in her favor today. So instead of heading back to the common room and conversing with her fellow Hufflepuffs after classes, she decided to head out to the grounds for some peace and quiet.
Usually no one comes around these parts of the grounds, right near to the great lake but within enough distance that you weren't risking getting snatched and pulled into the lake by the giant squid. The young witch settled herself underneath a big oak tree, it's branches and leaves providing some coverage from the blazing afternoon sun. She opened up her bag and pulled out her all-time favorite book, it was a book her dad had gifted to her when she turned 9, the young witch was never an avid reader, preferring the outdoors to books but when she had read this book she instantly loved it. She has read it countless times but has yet failed to get bored of it. Amelia quickly grew in love with the characters and the setting, becoming entranced with the world-building and the character development. She realized they were just words on a page, but to her, when she read them she was transported into the book - going on the adventures with the characters. She smiled to herself, flicking open to the page she had bookmarked. She took the bookmark out, setting it gently down on the grass beside her and continued reading.
It was peaceful here, the gentle breeze of the wind blowing against her face and the rustling of the leaves above made the entire scene tranquil. The giant squid occasionally coming up to the surface of the lake, splashing around before returning to the depths of the great lake. The Hufflepuff tucked a loose strand of her behind her ear, she was feeling better already - the stresses of the day leaving her mind as she read and listened to the beautiful sound of nature.

Autumn was Althea´s favorite season by far. Happy memories filled the young witch´s mind , from jumping in the piles of leaves outside her flat to carving pumpkins in her kitchen. So on the first of October, Althea decided that she was going to make her own fall memories at Hogwarts.
Her classes seemed to take forever for the Slytherin, and more than once through out the day, she found herself dozing off and thinking of what she would do once reaching the grounds. Would Althea attempt to climb the big oak? Would she sit and calmly draw underneath the trees? Or would she pick up that book that she had checked out from the library? The second her last class had ended, Althea found herself wasting no time walking to her dorm, hoping to avoid the rush that would inevitably occur when most Slytherins returned to the common room. Thankfully, Althea´s hurry had paid off, as when she entered the common room, there were only a few people lingering about. Deciding to sit and draw while in the Grounds, Althea walked into her dorm to pick up her sketchbook and a spare quill.
Finally, the girl was ready. Walking outside, Althea was pleasantly surprised by the nice weather and the slight breeze that ran through the loose strands of her hair. Deciding to walk up to the big oak, situated in a quieter part of the grounds, Althea was shocked to find another girl- Hufflepuff- by the looks of her robes, already sitting underneath the tree. On any other day, Althea would simply turn and walk the other direction, but she had spent too long planning for this afternoon to give up simply because someone else was there first.
As she approached the other girl, Althea noticed the book lying in the stranger´s lap. The grass crunched beneath Althea´s feet, and when she got close enough that it would be easy to converse, stopped.
¨Hey, mind if I sit?¨ Althea called, motioning to the spot next to the other girl

The Hufflepuff was so immersed in her book she didn't even realize someone had came up to her until she heard a girl speak. She looked up, squinting slightly and putting her hand over her eyes to block out the sun. She saw a young witch standing in front of her, who looked to be in Slytherin judging from the green of her robes. Amelia didn't recognize the girl, but she was more than happy to make a new friend. Maybe a new friend could make her day just a bit better. "Of course," she smiled warmly at the girl, "Here let me just move my bag and you can sit here." she moved her bag away, giving space for the girl to sit down next to her.
"I'm Amelia, what's your name?" she asked the girl. She wondered why the witch had come over to this part of the grounds, maybe she was also having a bad day? Or maybe she just wanted to get away from everyone? Her eyes glanced down to the sketchbook the Slytherin witch was holding, Amelia gathered that she must enjoy art. "Do you enjoy art? This is a really nice place to draw, the lake looks beautiful with the sun shining on it and the tree gives you some shade," she motioned behind her to the big oak tree which she was currently sat under. "I really can't draw at all, but I do love art. It's a shame honestly, I'd love to be able to draw." the Hufflepuff stopped talking once she found out she was rambling, she didn't want the girl to feel overwhelmed with how much she was talking to her.

The other girl, Amelia, had moved her bag away, leaving Althea enough room to comfortably sit under the tree as well. Shooting the other girl a smile, Althea took a seat next to her, setting her sketchbook and quill next to her on the ground. She assumed she wouldn´t be getting much drawing done today, but Althea was willing to make that sacrifice in order to hopefully make a new friend.
¨I´m Althea, nice to meet you! ¨
Amelia continued talking, asking about about the sketchpad that Althea had been carrying around, and Althea picked it back up, mindlessly flipping through the pages until she got to an open one. The slytherin was about to nod and begin sketching, but then she heard the other girl say she couldn´t draw.
¨I´m a firm believer that nobody is bad at art. You just have to practice ¨
To demonstrate, Althea flipped her sketchbook to the first page, where a rather bad depiction of a dog was pictured, and after a second, flipped to her most recent picture, a drawing of the slytherin common room. The last drawing was considerably more detailed and better looking than the first, and frankly, Althea was proud of herself and her improvement.
Flipping back to the open page and grabbing her quill, she passed the sketchbook to Amelia, motioning for her to try if she wished.
