As expected, it hadn't taken long for someone to approach him. Alexander turned as he noticed her arrival, pearly whites soft and gleaming under the candlelight. Icy eyes scanned the girl from behind his mask, noting the slim red dress and black nails. She didn't look familiar... Hogwarts then. Of course.

Alexander smiled at her words, straightening his shoulders. "You'd be right there," he laughed softly. Internally, he couldn't help but roll his eyes. Was this her attempt at humor? Breaking the tension? What a crude way to go about it. He grinned back at her.

"I would be honored to dance with you, Miss...?" And no formal name introduction. Alexander recognized beauty, but some people had no class. "I'm Alexander, it's a pleasure to meet you. I assume you're from Hogwarts?"

He was positive the scorn wasn't present in his tone as he said it, framed rather as a genuine question, but his stomach crawled with subdued laughter at the thought.

Alexander half-bowed, knowing that certain traditional customs made some people feel awkward. His only goal in life was to make everyone as comfortable as they could possibly be. Plain and simple. Connections were the best way to power, after all. Extending an arm to her, he swept a hand towards the dance floor, raising one elegant eyebrow.

"Shall we?"

Starting from Slytherin Common Room
When the green eyes arrived at the Ballroom, the Ball already begin. Many of people wearing mask and they did not know who is which since well this is a Masquerade Ball.

A month ago they sure that they have a date (@Cricket Mercury) for this occasion but when the ball rolled in, their partner for this ball - Cash isn't sure whether she will attend to this ball or not.

The young socialite used attending a ball like this alone. They been to balls, galas, this type of things from young age and some occasions the Ironwoods are the parties host. Cash also used to the awkwardness from attend this kind of thing alone at the beginning.

Their green eyes scanned the room - behind their half mask that snug comfortably on their face - Cash smile at a group of people that gathered. From where the purple hair stand, they can distinctly heard @Lucia Fox and @Scarlett Aden voices.

@Henry Knight and @Miranda Everest also presented and the boy (Charles Alluring) that Cash met once at the Leaky Cauldron. A girl wear Hijab that none other @Adlai Rod also in the room.

Their green eyes stopped when they stare at @Mars T'ien and the boy with silver or is it white hair (Alexander Baron). There is something about the boy that unsettling with Cash.

Then Cash green eyes fell onto a boy that stand by himself with a black nail polish on his nails (@Alec Mason). They had a feeling who is the boy was but since everyone wearing a mask, Cash was not sure about it.

And so as the heels of their ankle boots hits the ground, they walked towards the table for refreshment. "A fantastic ball, isn't it?"They asked to the person that wearing a red jump suit hoping the person open to any small talk with them.

Truthfully with the rain and thunder going on outside the castle, Cash forced themselves to at least enjoy the ball.

In his second year, Scott Alexander had gone to the blossom ball. And he had called it his element: he'd rejoiced in the beautiful music played, stared in awe at the pretty fairy lights which had adorned the air above him, and gratefully consumed the food provided.

Then it had gone up in flames.

In his third year, Scott Alexander had gone to the secret ball. And he had called it his element: he'd enjoyed the clandestine invites spread across the school, the fairytale-like visage of the transformed pitch, as well as the company he knew he'd be keeping.

Then it had gone up in flames.
This being a less literal description this time around, though still astonishingly fitting.

Now, Scott was a firm believer in the scientifically proven first law of probability: third time's the charm. Of course, this was by no means Scott's third ball altogether, part of the reason why he'd been so eager to consider the occasions his element was the fact that he was somewhat used to them, but as far as school dances went his experiences had been... concerning, to say the least. In fact, they'd been concerning enough to inspire valid reluctance within most sensible people to ever attend another school dance again... But that's no way to live! When it comes to dancing, your common sense should be left politely by the door, and your head better be among the clouds where it belongs. That's what Scott believed, and it's what he'd been telling himself over and over again as he and Ami had made their way towards the fourth floor together.

Well, that's not true. In fact, Scott hadn't actually been able to "tell himself" anything all of this evening... His mind had instead been occupied, all through getting dressed and all through finding her down at the third floor, by just the one thought: he had her again. She was back. And all the way from outside her common room and to where the ball was to be held, the boy just couldn't help but look to his side over and over at the red and blue phantom moving along with him. And he supposed he had to admit, that should it not have been for Ami becoming his friend again, he would've surely stayed behind in his dormitory tonight- along with all the sensible people.

A nightmarish thought for a nightmarish celebration.

Shrug it off! She was here now, and on his watch she wouldn't be going anywhere else.

Scott clicked his heels of his shoes theatrically together when the two arrived at he doors, and gestured for her to enter the festivity before himself. His golden cuff links shimmering under the already protruding candlelight from inside, Scott eventually ushered her in impatiently to stop at the edge of the dance floor.

This was good.

Scott felt at the Venetian mask in his other hand. He'd held it to his side all the way from his dormitory, except for a brief preview of it for Ami's sake in case she'd needed to get any comments out in a more private setting... But now he lifted it up, and fitted it over his face. There were no straps to it, nor did it envelop his head. Still it stuck there, by means unknown to the boy... The mask was his mother's, after all. She'd received it as a gift in Venice many years prior but had jumped at the opportunity to lend it out all the same. A porcelain white thing, it was... Depicting a beautiful woman's face with red lips, gold leaf from above the eyes and sparse green gems thereunder. It did much to compliment his dark coat, and the golden links or broaches he'd adorned it with.

"Won't you look at this!" Gloved hands clapped together.

"And won't you hear the music!" Green arm linked with a blue one.

"This is my element!" If the mask could smile, it would have.

The skirt to her dress isn't quite as sheer as in the image.
Sarah had been in many balls and banquets in her life, the concept wasn’t anything knew to her, but she’d never been to one quite like this. Where the pretentious idiots her father would usually invite to such events were usually stood, there were crowds of students, smiling and having fun. Most of them were dressed in beautiful dresses and fancy looking suits or dress robes - the occasional ghost or pirate here and there from where students had come from the costume party - but all of them seemed happy. The air practically vibrated with the combined excitement of all the attendees, and even some of the usually stone-faced professors stood around the edges of the room seemed happy, or at the very least relaxed.

There were so many people, but she didn’t feel overwhelmingly closed in. She was just one in a large crowd and she suddenly realised how much she enjoyed the anonymity. The fact that she could just be herself for the night, not a Slytherin or a Pure-Blood, just Sarah was refreshing. The only mask she had up was the one she had tied around her head, not the one she often felt herself hiding behind. Her face broke out into a wide smile at the realisation, and a glance to her side told her that Paisley was equally as excited.

We shall,” Sarah grinned, grabbing her skirt and lowering herself into an elegant curtesy that even her father couldn’t argue with. Apparently his years of training her to be a member of high society had finally payed off. She giggled at the thought. Sarah followed her friend onto the dance floor, glancing around at the others there. Some of the older students were dancing close to their partners, a few first years jumping around excitedly, and then there was Paisley, twirling around her seemingly without a care in the world. Sarah immediately took her hand when it was offered, quick to spin the girl around beneath her arm. Dancing had always been an escape for Sarah, something her mother had taught her since she was a small girl, and to be here with her friend was quickly making this one of the best nights of her life.

Are you suggesting you aren’t my date this evening?” Sarah asked, offering Paisley a joking wink as she gracefully dipped the slightly smaller girl. Of course, she agreed with her though. She’d found the pre-teens on ‘dates’ to be quite amusing. She’d much rather be here enjoying this with a friend. She went to voice her thoughts but Paisley’s ramblings cut her off. She giggled at the girl as she rushed over her words, relating to the excitement written all over her face. “We should definitely head over there at some point, yes,” she agreed, eager to see the decorations in the smaller hall and look at everyone’s costumes. “Everything about this is wonderful. It’s is by far the best ball I’ve ever been too,” Sarah admitted, though the competition wasn’t all that difficult to beat, “And I’m so glad I’m here with you.” It was true; she couldn't think of a better person to be dancing with. Who needed a date when she had a Pasiely.

The last time I attended an event like this, I accidentally spilt the punch bowl on my cousin,” She admitted with a grin, as the girls continued to sway and twirl and dance the night away. “Though if you’d asked me, I’d have said the red stain was an improvement,” She chuckled, remembering the look on her cousins face as the liquid had soaked her. Serves her right for insulting the house elves.

Mars meandered over to the drinks, plucking a cup from the decorated table with thin fingers. Humming something along with the beat of the music, they filled it with some sort of punch and raised it to their lips. Ah, perfect.

The sounds of heel boots clicking behind them caused them to turn, cup tucked neatly to their chest. There was Cassandra Ironwoods, looking dashing as ever. They were kind of surprised the Snake was alone—it seemed like they could almost always pull someone to their side.

Mars let out a laugh at their friend's remark. "Truly. But at least it's not up in flames, hmm?" they smirked into the rim of their cup as they took another sip, "Yet." The Ravenclaw tipped their glass at Cash at the word, the insinuation heavy in their tone. If this was a Hogwarts ball... well, they didn't want to say for sure. Maybe it would all go down with sunshine and roses and no giant moths and arson this time.

"Care for something to drink?" Mars asked, twisting their hips to sweep a hand over the wide array of refreshments. To be perfectly fair, they felt it was less about the drinks and more about a) having something to do or b) having a fidget to occupy the hands. Still, if Cash wanted it, they'd fix them a drink as well.

Turning back to their friend once more, Mars snuck a glance around their shoulder. They'd thought that maybe Cash's date was just arriving late but... they weren't so sure now. Eyeing the Slytherin over the top of their glass, Mars asked,

"So, did you come with anyone?"

Lydia had thought a lot whether she should have gone to the Autumn/Fall Ball or not. It wasn't simply because the last ball she had attended had turned into pure chaos, but also because she did not have a date. It wasn't as if she needed one; over the summer she had learned a lot about herself and who she was, and even though she was still struggling with it, the young part-veela felt way more comfortable with herself than before. But still, having a date would have made the whole night more enjoyable, especially since she planned to join the Masquerade Ball.

That one had caught her attention already from the invitations, the idea of wearing a mask and not letting other people know who you were felt kind of good, so she already knew she would have preferred going there rather than at the costume party, but of course it wasn't as if she could dance by herself at the masquerade. So she had decided to find a dress that could also be a costume, just in case she changed her mind and decided to go to the costume party instead.

When the day of the Ball finally arrived, Lydia was not at all in a good mood, and it looked as if the weather had agreed with her: the storm was raging outside, making it impossible for her to spend some time outside. She couldn't tell why she was feeling so moody; the letter her mother had sent her two days earlier, for her birthday, definitely did not help, but at least she had gotten her costume in time for the party. As she adjusted the rabbit mask over her face, Lydia looked at herself in the mirror of her dorm's bathroom and smiled; she could barely recognize herself in the mirror, her face completely covered except for her mouth and chin, a simple make up -just the normal foundation, concealer, mascara, eyeliner and red lipstick- hidden under the rabbit image. Her strawberry blonde hair were left down on her shoulders, the red strings looking particularly bright over the white fabric of her dress. Speaking of which, it was a simple, long sleeved, bodycon white dress, its fabric reminding the girl of a fake fur; her shoes this time were definitely higher, a proper pair of white ankle strap platform shoes that helped make her look taller than usual; a belt with a fake rabbit tail - and a wand holder- was wrapped around her waist, tied well enough so that it would not untie during the night.

With one last sigh Lydia decided that it was time to go and walked out of her dorm and through the common room, the sound of her shoes hitting the ground loud in her ears. When she arrived on the fourth floor, she could already hear the music coming from the Ballroom and for a second her memory went back to the past Blossom Ball. Shaking her head to let go of those thoughts, Lydia finally walked inside the room, and her mouth fell open: it looked wonderful , the decorations and music setting the atmosphere in the best way. Her eyes scanned the room, unable to focus her attention on anything in particular; the organizers had done an amazing job, and everyone seemed already happy to be there.

Lydia walked inside some more, sticking mainly to the side so that she would not accidentally step into the proper dancing zone, as her eyes wandered around; she knew that Alexander would have attended, but she wasn't too sure how he would have dressed up. Once thing was for sure, the red headed girl felt slightly underdressed as she observed the amazing outfits everyone was wearing.

Adjusting her dress and checking that her wand was still inside her belt, Lydia went back to looking around. *

As the boy responded to katherine she couldn't help but notice he responded that he was happy to dance with Katherine but stopped and waited for Katherine to introduce herself, Katherine didnt want to introduce herself in the beginning because she thought it was too forward she responded to him and said proudly"Im Katherine,Katherine labourer and you are?", in her head she thought why would a guy like him know of such a powerful and rich family like hers she noticed he always had a smile with every reply she then caught on he was hiding under it.She was solving the guy but at the same time she noticed when he introduced himself and asked if she was from hogwarts.

As he said that she felt as if he was mocking her of her school but she was much better then this it was game on for her as she finally put the last piece of the puzzle about solving the guy she responded with a smile "yes I am and assuming to you, you are from durmstrang", she usually thought that the guys from durmstrang learned class and how to treat a lady properly but instead all she got was a puzzle that was easy to solve she was thankful at least someone got to dance with her. afterwards Alexander half bowed to katherine, katherine then was quite shocked half bowed he was supposed to bow maybe he didn't know traditional customs,Katherine knew all about traditional dancing because her family used to host these all the time in their ball and invite all the rich families from everywhere so she was an expert at this, she watched as he raised his arm and said "shall we",

katherine then responded with a smirk" we shall!", she put her soft and delicate palm on his, she looked at her family ring and knew that it was time to show him what a true labrouder is capable of she walked with him to the dance floor and put her hand on his shoulder carefully and softly and evened her other palm with his as she danced and swayed in the first minutes katherine looked down and back up to lock eyes with alexander she noticed his icy blue eyes and said" I wonder how long you thought you could hide under that smile of yours....im sorry", she smirked and continued"i've noticed you scanning me when i came to you and i've noticed you smiled and tried to make me comfortable which i do appreciate but lets cut the chase i know im in this ridiculous school but don't mistaken me with the buffoons you know here", she took a deep breathe and continued with confidence but at the same time kept focus with the dance trying not to make a problem"you see here mr alexander im not blind you obviously have a charming smile and handsome features and you tried to cover your uninterest in me but i know when people hide under smiles and think other opinions about people, i can recognise a person who does that from a mile a way because i do the same, and i think i've figured you out before you figured me out", she continued with a simple soft smile and continued locking eyes with him.

In her head she thought that she blew everything up and tried to clean her mess up and say softly"Mr alexander your obviously a gentleman and a charmer but i'd rather you be honest with me then just smile and comfort me and i'm not looking for trouble either",
she ended waiting for his response that she wasn't looking too forward for.

Amelia's speech: Yellow

Amelia did not belong here. Balls were definitely not her thing. She felt she looked terrible in dresses, and she couldn't walk in heels if it was between life or death. How she ended up at the Autumn Ball was a mystery. She didn't even have anyone to go with, so now she was just awkwardly standing at the entrance to the ballroom. If it wasn't for her mother sending her a package with her dress and mask in it she would most likely not be here. The Hufflepuff was definitely unprepared, she barely had time to plan anything for the Autumn Ball since she was so caught up in all the homework she had to do. The girl was completely clueless to how her mother found out about the ball, but she did and quickly sent Amelia a package with a dress, mask and heels in it along with a very angrily written note about how the young witch had forgotten to inform her about the ball.

Everyone looked amazing, like they had been preparing for the dance for months. Amelia had heard whispers around that the last dance was a disaster, and she was kind of hoping that something entertaining would happen tonight to distract her from the fact that she didn't have anyone to talk to. She wasn't looking for a date, considering that fact that she's literally eleven but she really, really hoped someone would come over to talk to her.

The Hufflepuff was still standing rigidly at the entrance to the ballroom, she suspected people were definitely looking at her and judging her incredibly hard right now. "Maybe going back to bed would be a better idea," she muttered to herself.

Katherine, Katherine Labrouder... didn't ring a bell. Alexander couldn't stop the mental image of a large pale dog from popping up in his head at her last name. It was almost funny.

As they took the stage, he couldn't help but notice that Katherine glanced at her ring. A family ring from the looks of it. Ah, so she was proud of her heritage then. Likely a high standing family of some sort, which was only confirmed by the way she placed herself into his arms as the music pulsed slowly behind them. He couldn't help but feel like she was—what was the word—ah, peacocking.

Alexander sighed in his mind, his face still impassive behind his mask. What a fool; there was no sense in flaunting what one didn't have nor in flaunting what they did. Keep quiet and controlled, be the snake that bites from the flowers.

The two of them rounded a few times, letting the music drift on for a few minutes before Katherine finally looked up at him. Alexander softened his gaze, hiding the piercing quality of his icy blues under thick lashes.

What she said next startled him. Then, it spread a wide, genuine grin over his face.

Allowing the absurdity of it all control his facial features, he grabbed one of her arms, intending to lead her into a spin. Surely, a purebred could handle a conversation while dancing, no? So, she knew his smile was fake. Fair enough, perhaps he'd overdone it. It was a fine assumption to say that he'd lost a bit of his touch amongst these people who were so easy to fool. She certainly wasn't wrong in saying that it was fake. But the rest of it...

Uninterested? Hardly. Had he not wanted to dance, he would have simply found a way out of the situation. He never did anything that didn't interest him. Buffoons... Ridiculous school... he certainly couldn't have said it better himself. But mistake her for one of them? Alexander never underestimated anyone. The contempt he hid behind practiced smiles could and would be directed at anyone—everyone was a fool at the end of the day, no matter the school, class, or ability.

Perhaps if it had been someone else, someone he was more certain could actually cause him trouble, he would have panicked behind his mask. But who was she to question him? No one.

"I don't know what you're talking about, my dear," the Durmstrang boy continued the dance, feet never missing a step, "There was never anything to figure out. There was no dishonesty. I am who I am and I do as I please and as of now," Alexander's smile grew, "I happen to be perfectly content dancing with you. Are you not?"

A taunt, an offer, a bid to see who succumbed to their own frustration. If she claimed she did the same as him, let's see who could remain civil the longest.

Our beautiful Slytherin is a goddess in gold and white. Aphrodite looks at her in envy, Athena in reverence. Nymphs seem to float around her, keeping her hair flowing in pale waves. In a secret pocket of her dress, a heavy emerald, wrapped is a silver snake sits, the weight reminding her of the duty one must carry as a Viridian Viper.

After getting ready, the girl met up with her date, Percival Gray outside of the Slytherin common room so the two could make their entrance. With a well-bred, handsome boy on her side and dressed in one of her Grandmother's old gowns, Amara feels invincible. With the hand that is not interlocked with Percy's fingers, Amara pushes back a stray lock of hair.

Pride, excitement, weariness, and a sense of duty. The Dragomir heir feels it all, rushing through her veins, just as powerful as the magic that runs with it. Rubbing circles around Percival's hand, a breath is taken. Be prepared for the chaos, be prepared for fire, be prepared for destruction, and be prepared to fight.

With another step and a regal glance around the room, the blonde steps into the ballroom. Taken aback by the beauty, our Slytherin pauses for a moment before sending a quick smile towards Anastasia and her date; may the night go well.
