[font=Monotype Corsiva]Enzo entered the ballroom with his head held high and erect. The ball had come at long last. He looked around examining everything from top to bottom. The room was quite impressive looking. The organizers definitely pulled it off. The elegant orchestra playing in the background caught his attention for a couple of moments. It was a nice touch to the spooky and thrilling ambiance of the room. He noticed that some of the students had already taken to the dance floor which was not something Enzo was necessarily planning to do tonight. He never really attempted to dance before so he'd probably end up looking like a fool if he did.

Thankfully his mother had allowed him to help pick out his grab for the evening, so he chose to wear an all black outfit: everything from his mask to his shoes were black. In addition to the black attire, his honey blond mess of hair was neatly slicked back, and his fingers were adorned with a few silver rings.

Enzo continued to look around when finally spotted her. Lana Monet. His arranged date. She happened to be talking to someone, which as much as Enzo would have liked to deny it he was slightly envious. Typically he was not one to really care about friendships and such but in this particular moment, he couldn't help it. Seeing everyone meeting up with friends, girlfriends, boyfriends made him feel awkward for standing there like a lone wolf.
But he was already there, already dressed, so there was no point in just leaving now. He walked over to Lana and while approaching her from behind he spoke up sarcastically and most likely was interrupting the conversation she seemed to be currently engaged in.
"Why hello there, I don't mean to put a damper on what looks like the start of a lovely conversation but I believe it is customary to hang out with ones date at the ball"
He and Lana pretty much despised each other and their parents were obviously not present so there really wasn't anything stopping them from not interacting at all, but nevertheless he had spoken up. Mainly just because it was giving him something to do.

Event The Fall Ball (Masquerade)

It was a cold night the night of the ball but Melissa didn't care she was just nervous that she would trip over in those boots she was wearing. As Melissa put her mask on before entering threw the large doorway she was shocked on how beautiful dressed everybody was. Melissa was full of nerves it was her first ever ball and she had come alone but she wouldn't let that ruin her time there even if it tried.

The ballroom was full of people and it was like nothing Melissa had ever seen before. In her head she couldn't get around the fact that she was actually here. Melissa walked in with her head down trying not to be seen by anybody. In her mind she wanted to go out there have a blast but she knew she couldn't so she walked to the side of the ballroom and leaned on the wall thinking of all the things she could be doing than standing by the wall alone. Melissa hoped she would see somebody she knew. Melissa's mind was going crazy a part of her wanted to go out and dance however part of her wanted to stay here and watch everybody else have fun.

The time had finally come, the masquerade ball. Life had been quite an eventful disaster ever since the last ball, so Kara had hope of some more relaxing dancing instead of fighting for her own life. Even with those hopes, she still kept her wand in the pocket of her dress.

As she walked in, she noticed quite a few others were already there, fully decked out in dresses and masks. Kara mostly looked like everyone else. Lots of black, lots of it. Kara peered around, then looked up at the candles.

Flame freezing charm, wonder who did that one? Kara thought to herself.

Her chocolate brown eyes glittered in the flickering flames as she kept her head up on the ceiling, but she finally decided to get her head out of the clouds...more as, candles, and walk forward towards the food table, as she wanted some punch, as she was pretty thirsty.

The loud music sounded in her ears as she heard her heeled boots tapping on the ornate flooring. She took some of the punch from a ladle and poured it into her own cup, but as she was looking around, she met eyes with someone who looked like she jumped out of a renaissance fair. She poured a glass for her and decided to walk over.

I guess no matter how much I want to be distant, I can't help myself from being social, maybe this blondie can cheer me up somewhat.

She walked over to the girl, and then started a somewhat nice chat with her.

"Hello random woman who's name I have no idea. You seem pretty lonely just like me, so want some punch? Also, if you want to know, the name's Kara Capricorn." Kara greeted the girl.

As Kara offered the punch, Kara looked at her up and down. She saw that the girls hair was blonde, and through the mask, she saw some blue eyes.

"I feel like I recognize, you know. You also look quite a bit like my friend Heather, but I don't know if Heather is coming here. If so, I would've been here with her." She then paused, looking at the girls outfit.

"You're outfit looks pretty obsolete. I would suggest coming to Hogwarts events with a little more, how do I say this... mobile clothing? If I've learned anything from being a second-year, it's that at Hogwarts, you're never fully safe, and you never know when you might have to choose between fight or flight." Kara said, giving the girl a ominous, small smile.

Quickly Erik was making sure his costume was spotless before he made his way down to the Common Room. He had to be perfect after all. Knowing one of his best friends she would bring her A-game. He couldn't just go down stairs before he had made sure he had achieved perfection. As he ran his hand through his hair one last time as he threw a last glance at the mirror the Slytherin was finally content with himself. After closing the door of his dorms he hastily made his descent.

Once there he looked with his bright venomous green eyes for his friend. It didn't take long for him to find her. As soon as he had laid eyes on her she had rendered him speechless. She had literally taking his breath away. There he stood for a few seconds. Stunned, speechless and breath taken away at the mere sight of Ileen. Wow..., his lips moved wordlessly. Before Erik realised it she stood next to him. As was only proper he offered his arm to her as he spoke. Shall we? When they made their way over to the ballroom Ileen was beaming. An infectuous smile was playing on her lips causing him to charm a broad smile on his face as well. Oh, it sure will be! How could it not be? You were on the very team that created... Erik was at a loss of words once they had stepped inside the ballroom. The decor was spot on and the music was exhillerating. Leen..., he finally spoke. This is absolutely amazing! You can be so proud on yourself for doing all of... Well, this! The tall, blond boy opened his arms as he took a few steps backwards as he took it all in. He smiled as he made his way back to her seeing the dimples in her cheeks. But all of this, Erik indicated at the decorated room they were standing, bleaks in comparison to you, Leen. You look beautiful. Stunning even! The werewolf smiled at her. He was happy in this moment. But, hey! Don't get used to the compliments all too much. One night only alright? He winked at her as he laughed.

Erik scanned to room to see if his close friend Neculai would make an appearance.

As she walked out the rehearsal room, Lily gazed in awe at the door to the ballroom. If she thought this was amazing though, she had another thing coming. The room was lit by candlelight, just like the cafe in which she lived when they hat power cuts, which was often. She soon saw a girl with long black hair done up nicely, a pale blue dress and mask, perfect for the occasion. The dance floor was full, and Lily went over to her, putting her black mask on as she went.

There was now another girl, talking to her. She had long, ginger hair, or at least it seemed long, with the way it was put up. The girl was also wearing a red dress and a mask. Well, at least she wasn't the only one who themed her outfit, as the two girls seemed to do the same.

She ignored everyone, hoping nobody would notice her. And nobody did. She glided through the people like a ghost through walls. When got to them, they was standing awkwardly, watching the dancing, and chatting. She wanted to talk to them, but somehow couldn't think of a conversation starter. Perhaps she would talk in Welsh, that would be cool Or would it? Lily wasn't sure which she should do. Introduce herself in English, or Welsh. Eventually, she made up her mind. She was going to talk in Welsh, then in English. "Hi, I'm Lily, what are your names?" The girls looked at her with the expression behind their masks saying 'You weirdo!'. Lily then repeated the words. "Hi, I'm Lily, what are your names?"

The year prior, when the Secret Blossom Ball was happening, she was asked last minute. So she wore a simple cream colored sweater that hung off her shoulder and a pink skirt. She looked adorable in it but it certainly paled in comparison to all those attending the school dance. To make her feel more comfortable, her date Clifton Troublefield had suggested the idea of a Secret Secret Blossom Ball there in the Hufflepuff Common Room and it had been a night to remember.

This year she had time. Logan Zarcovich had asked her early enough that she was able to ask for catalogs to be delivered from some of the designers that her father always favored for his charity gala events, choose a dress, accessorize, and get it all ordered in plenty of time. As someone who liked to try and plan out all aspects of everything she did, that was wonderful.

She made her way to the Fourth Floor, wishing she had someone by her side already - maybe one of her best friends but it was better this way. She was going to meet Logan at the entrance to the Ballroom and it might be awkward if there was another there. She was eager for the evening, knowing she at least wanted to get in maybe three dances and a refreshment before moving to the rehearsal room close-by for some other fun, and more relaxed, activities.

Upon reaching the entrance to the Ballroom, she saw many waiting and nearly everyone had a mask on - this was a masquerade after all! Still, it didn't take long for this princess to find her stable boy and she smiled brightly at how well he looked put together from what she could see. Logan had always been significantly taller than her, as he was tall for his age and she was short for hers, and he had a strong build. That, paired with his messy hair (which she adored) she knew her boy from the moment her eyes glanced his way.

"Look at you,"
she smiled as she came up to him, reaching up to smooth her hands along his dress robes because she liked the texture of the fabric. "My Stable Boy cleans up quite nicely." She then lifted her hand up to the side of his face.

She was glad to see him but a little nervous all the same. Alina had tried to read her own Tarot Cards for about a month now and she got mixed signals when she tried to focus on this night. What she did know though was that this night felt like a turning point but she wasn't quite sure how or why, good our bad - but regardless, she hoped this would be a good evening.

Alina lifted herself up, to kiss his lips gently, before taking his hand and leading him inside. She looked around the room before leading him right to the center of the dance floor. The two had practiced for this and he was ready. She didn't want to give him time to get nervous.
Action: Found her date, entered, and now heading to the dance floor!

Scarlett was about to die of laughter. She knew it wasn't nice, but it was rather hilarious to see Lucia stumble over her words. Of course, Scarlett knew that the offer wasn't like that. Otherwise it would've been rather awkward, wouldn't it? She had nothing against same-sex couples, but at the moment, she found herself sniggering slightly at the mortified way Lucia was trying to clarify that, no, it wasn't like that.

"Ah Lucia," giggled Scarlett. (Giggling? What had the world come to?) "We can dance as friends! Wiggle around and shake our heads to the beat. I like dancing. Don't be so awkward! It's me! We're friends!"

Scarlett was ready to whirl round and leap onto the dance floor like a maniac but a rather dramatic figure caught her eye. Dark-brown irises narrowed as Scarlett took in the face of Anastasia Beckett, looking more like a maleficent queen than a third-year going to a ball. Why did Beckett have to be everywhere she went? Why? It was a school-wide event, yes, but did the girl really have to show her face everywhere Scarlett looked? A few of her friends had attempted to counsel her to forgive Beckett, but bashing someone's face in was irredeemable. She was sure Beckett felt the same way, and that was just fine with Scarlett.

Turning away, she caught sight of a boy, who looked suspiciously like Henry Knight. Oh perfect - it was Henry Knight. Her friendship with the Slytherin seemed to have gone downhill ever since they arrived at Hogwarts and had a fight in the grounds. Like Beckett, they seemed to be bumping into each other too much. Whether it was duelling, comforting people, anything...her rivals were always there like pesky house flies following her around. And - who was that blonde girl he was with? His date? Hadn't she met her? The one at the Gryffindor Common Room, hanging around trying to find her brother? But again - his date? Scarlett felt the blood rush to her head inexplicably, a sudden urge to march over to the duo and start to scream-

"Helo, Lily ydw i, beth yw eich enwau?" came a voice. Plastering a smile on her face (she was quite the actress), Scarlett turned to Lucia and found a younger-looking girl with short brown hair and sparkling green eyes.

"I - er..." began Scarlett in confusion, glancing quickly at Lucia before the girl continued.

"Hi, I'm Lily, what are your names?" came the hurried reply from the girl. Random first-years didn't approach Scarlett much very often, but, nevertheless, she turned to the girl and forced a smile that looked rather pleasant if you didn't peer too closely.

"Oh hey," said Scarlett. "I'm Scarlett and this is..."

She trailed off, not sure if Lucia wanted to introduce herself. She certainly didn't like it when people took it on themselves to tell others her name without her consent.

After having spent sometime in her dorm room getting ready for the event Adlai stood outside the ballroom and looked curiously in. Everything and everyone was glittering in their own special light. Everyone seemed to be having fun, and the music was spectacular. Let’s try this again-She thought as finally she put on her mask and walked into the ballroom.

Perhaps, and hopefully this year nothing will be set on fire. Not seeing anyone she knew yet Adlai stood on the side lines and swayed to the music that played. Which was a step up from what she did last year, at that time she was either aimlessly wondering around the room looking for her friends or was awkwardly glued to the punch bowl. Maybe she’ll be able to actually dance this time around. All was well and that’s what mattered.

She hoped that Flash was happy with the way things had turned out since for the past couple of days he seemed stressed. Speaking of flash, she wondered if she’d be able to notice him in the crowd of masked attendees. Though at the same time she hoped she didn’t see him, after all he was with his date and didn’t want to intrude on their time together.

The Fall Ball was finally here. After months, quite possibly years of waiting, it had arrived, and Paisley couldn't be more excited. With her newly-blued hair tips, and her beautiful masquerade outfit, she felt more comfortable in her own skin. It was nice knowing she looked lovely, at least for an evening.

The most noticeable thing about her clothing was her dyed hair, because it hadn't been there a few hours before. It shone brightly in the lighting, and she couldn't wait to let Sarah see it. She would be the first one to set eyes upon it (other than the girl who had dyed it), and Paisley couldn't be happier. After all, the Slytherin herself had green hair, so they would have something in common now! I hope she doesn't think I copied her... she fretted nervously.

The young Gryffindor hurried to the entrance of the ball, her eyes drifting to the grand door that marked where it began. The candles that lined the halls weren't to be caught (Paisley had found that out the hard, and rather frightening way) and she brushed her fingers through the fire almost mindlessly as she waited for Sarah. I hope she doesn't ghost me... her mind drifted to all the terrifying possibilities, and she glanced around nervously. SPEAKING OF GHOSTS! she jumped when she saw a few wispy shapes moving across the dance floor, seeming to glide without feet. The strangest thing about them was they seemed completely translucent, meaning she could see the wall on the other side of them. Well, that goes to show how much I know about the wizarding world..to think I've never seen a ghost before!

She looked around again, and startled when she noticed Sarah by the door. She cleared her throat, walking over. She wondered briefly how long she had been standing there, but could think of nothing when she saw the beautiful outfit Sarah was wearing. It matched the style of Paisley's so much that she was stunned for a few moments. "I-you're-we're" she stuttered. "I can't believe it. Are we wearing the same dress?" she looked a bit closer, and realized Sarah's was black instead of blue. Still, they were so crazily alike...

"That is truly amazing. I can't believe it!" she said, looking inside of the ball. Excitement fluttered up inside of her, and she turned to Sarah, a smile on her face. "Where to first?"

August didn't have a date to the ball, and he wanted to keep it that way. A date was too...restraining. It tied you down, making it so that you had to talk to the same person all evening. That was ridiculous! Even a little kid knew that you could get bored by doing the same thing over and over again.

He scanned the ballroom quickly. He had to find all the potential friends as fast as humanly possible, so that no one else took them from him before he had a chance to say hello. The problem was, everyone else thought it was fun to have a date, and didn't usually like it when August came up and started talking to them. His eyes rested on a young girl, and he walked over to them cheerfully.

"Hello. I'm August!" he said, tripped over one of his feet, and almost fell on his face. Thankfully he didn't, but as he came back up, his hand grazed the flame of the candle. It was strange, because usually he was very graceful, especially on nights like these. He felt his face light up with embarrassment, which was not a common emotion with him. "Owwwwhoa...." his pained cry turned into that of something amazed. Instead of the painful burn he had expected, it felt whispy and almost cold. "Awesome..." he muttered, and then turned back to the girl. "It's been wonderful meeting you, miss. Have you come here with anyone? I wouldn't want you to be here all alone!" his eyes were round and sincere, not a hint of mockery in them as you might expect.

Slowly walking into the room, Lizzie looked at her feet. She had a bad feeling about the ball. If it was anything like the Blossom Ball in April than it would end in disaster. "Think about something happy. Your guitar back in the dorm or how your brothers can't come because they cut off your hair." She mumbled to herself and chuckled slightly before shaking her head a bit and bringing it up to look at the room around her. Her vision was skewed slightly by the mask she had put on her face. It was nothing special. Just something that her mother had sent over along with the blue dress she had hastily thrown on.

It had been quite a shock to the bird when she had somehow landed her self a date with the Quidditch Captain of her team. All Lizzie had to do now was actually try and find him through the sea of faceless people. She did not want to accidentally walk up to the wrong person and embarrass herself. It would be impact on her self-esteem. She had quite a lot but a knock like that would send her way down the pile of egotistical people.

Sighing and looking down at her feet again, she brushed her dress. It was a habit she had learnt over the summer. When ever Lizzie was slightly uncomfortable or unsure of what to do she would always brush a piece of clothing of the dust that had settled there.

Lizzie was never normally that concerned. She loved to look on the bright side of things and not let anything negative into her life. However, that doesn't always work out. She had been anticipating the ball ever since it had been announced. It was a chance to show herself off and impress people but that plan didn't seem to be going in the straight line she had hoped it was going.

"I hope this doesn't go terribly wrong." She breathed out turning towards the center of the room where Ghosts could be seen dancing and a few others students where lingering. Lizzie shook her head and put on a smile before stepping further into the room searching for the person she was meant to spend most of the night with.

Sébastien knew going to a ball without a date was considered rude. That was the philosophy in his grandparents' house. They loved to hold dances in their mediocre house. There were always a few people over dancing to classical music and sometimes they even slept there like it was their house. But if you showed up alone, it was the dog house for you. His once loving grandparents changed and shooed them out of the house.

He strode into the hall smirking and with hands in his pockets. Sébastien had just put on a slightly smart outfit with his favorite boots. It was one of the only pairs of shoes he had actually brought. They were practical and always went with anything he ever wore. It would not be a surprise to see him walking around his house wearing blue striped pyjamas and his black boots from time to time.

It had been a few stressful weeks for some people. Unlike Sébastien, they had obviously not prepared. Everything was better when you have time to relax and get it all done on time. He had even planned out his whole evening very well. Firstly, go get something to eat. Then find some people he does not like the look of and try to insult them. Finally go off to flirt with people already taken and then go back to sleep. He was just hoping that nothing would go wrong with the reputation Hogwarts had had in the past.

Eyeing up the room, he smirked again and walked over towards one of the windows where he looked out onto the rain. He found it very pretty to look at. Something that helped the world over and over again yet people hated it. "Hmm.." He sighed slightly turning to look at everyone else while taking off the plain black mask he had on. Berry wanted to try and at least find one person he knew so a small conversation could be started.

His eyes quickly caught Cassie and he stuck a hand up in the air to wave at her. Sébastien could see she looked a bit preoccupied with someone else and decided not to continue it any further unless she wanted to. The only time the boy ever considered others was when they had shown their worth to him and they had actually gotten to become at least friends.
