Um...Yeah, No Thanks
October 11th
Sunny with sparse clouds
A half-hour after the last class of the day
Tagging @Henry Knight (as Charles Alluring)
The day was nice, surprisingly so from what Miranda had come to expect so far in October. If she hadn't braved the winters last year, she would've believed Hogwarts had some kind of weather-neutralizing charm placed over it.
But there was no way her luck would last...which meant she had recently taken to escaping outside given every opportunity. It was especially helpful that doing so allowed her to escape the influx of new students. Miranda had thought having one school's worth of students at Hogwarts was a lot...but four (arguably, three of the four weren't the whole populations...but the idea was there) was even worse. Silence had become a rare commodity, pretty much exclusively kept to corners of the grounds, or the common rooms, seeing as Beauxbatons, Ilvermoney, and Durmstrang students couldn't get to the latter.
But the Ravenclaw common room wasn't outside, which was why Miranda had decided to spend every available moment on the grounds.
That day, she'd had the good fortune of receiving a relatively small amount of homework, and had finished most of it during a free period earlier that afternoon, and the rest in the last half-hour. This meant that the rest of her afternoon and evening were free.
So of course, Miranda had gone outside, and her feet had directed her in the direction of the Quidditch Pitch. Perhaps it was the fact that her first game as the Ravenclaw First-String Chaser was in less than fifteen days...or maybe she just headed there randomly. But either way, Miranda didn't bother leaving straight away, and instead stared up at the Keeper hoops far overhead, imagining herself flying up at that level - or even higher, if it came to that.
She lowered her eyes, turning around as if to leave...but something stopped her from doing that.

Dressed in his Dumstrang uniform and after a half hour of searching he finally found the it, the hogwarts quidditch pitch. As Charles walked onto the pitch he couldn't help but looked around and feel a bit disappointed, while the stands were as high and large as he would expected. The actual pitch wasn't what he was expecting and smaller then what he would have preferred, it seems the third year Dumstrang student found another good and bad thing about the school of witchcraft and Wizardry.
Charles however reminded there, while he preferred to be around others and was beyond social. There was also something else the boy was feeling, he did long to play quidditch but broom racing was all good to but it wasn't that, it was something else bugging the boy. A feeling of longing and sadness almost, Charles knew where the feeling was coming from and when it started.
The summer after he completed his first year at Dumstrang and during the year even before his brother and him were not close but had a good relationship, they considered each other training partners and would go on morning runs together while they would also train and wrestle together. Then during that summer, Andrew was name to be the next head and Charles was forgotten by everyone including his brother who started bulling him, that was probably why he tried his hardest to talk to everyone and be the most social person in the room, which wasn't always a good thing but the kid didn't know and wouldn't let others know either.
Charles however was about to leave when he spotted a blonde haired, blue eyed girl wearing Hogwarts robes the blue ones which meant she was a ravenclaw be thought. Remembering the ball coming up and forgetting the others whom he asked, Charles walked to her as his curly blonde hair was comb out a bit and Dumstrang uniform was crisp and clean, he approached her.
Charles gave his charming half smile as he did a traditional small Dumstrang bow to her before standing straight up and saying " hello miss, may I say that you are beautiful," Charles was a total flirt and hopelessly romantic as he continued " would you come go the ball with me?"

The grass rustled quietly as the breeze brushed through it, calming Miranda somewhat. From where she stood, with her feet firmly planted on the ground, the nerves and worry of her upcoming match seemed so far off. But the rational side of her mind wouldn't let her forget what was coming.
Suddenly the sound of approaching footsteps broke through her contemplation, firmly bringing her back to the present. A tall boy with blonde, curly hair and blue eyes was approaching her. He wore the traditional Durmstrang uniform, something that Miranda was more than familiar with given how many of the school were seen around Hogwarts. The same thing went for Ilvermoney and Beauxbatons.
He gave her a half-smile and bowed slightly, then spoke up. "Hello miss, may I say that you are beautiful." A fraction of a second's pause. "Would you go the ball with me?"
For a moment Miranda said nothing, just gave him a confused and shocked look. Who was this boy that sauntered up to her and, out of nowhere, she might add, asked her to the dance. She'd be appalled by the behavior no matter what, but what made it especially bad was the fact that she was already going to the Autumn Ball with her boyfriend, Henry Knight.
"Excuse me?" she asked, grasping at something to say. In truth, Miranda was on the verge of storming off, but common courtesy kept her where she stood. "I don't even know who you are...and you don't know me."

Hearing the young girl's response and not showing that he was taken back or alarmed, Charles gave his signature half charming smile as he spoke with a small head bow " my apologies miss, where are my manners," Charles paused a bit as be took a former stance before continuing to speak with a British and Russian accent " I am Charles Alluring of Dumstrang institute, a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Charles held his hand out to let her shake it as he then continued " would I have the pleasure to know your name as well miss?"
Charles didn't mean to resort to flirting or insults or fights but it wasn't like he enjoyed any of those things, he actually only did them so people won't find out his secrets. More like family secrets which some of them were he was used to be ignoring as a child by his family but he had his brother who trained with him then after his first year at Dumstrang, he to forgot about Charles and ignored him. So Charles only did the things he did because he figured out that when he did then people didn't ignore him and actually pay attention to him even if it was for negative reasons.

Miranda met the other boy's smile with an expression of annoyance that refused to give way for something gentler. When he introduced himself, his last name seemed slightly familiar to Miranda, as if she'd heard it somewhere before. But no matter how hard she tried, the niggling sensation didn't lead to anything more, so she ignored it.
"Miranda Everest, of Hogwarts," she replied, reaching over to shake his hand tentatively. To her, the whole situation seemed very awkward. On the one hand, although she would have very much liked to, she didn't want to seem rude by stalking off or dismissing him suddenly. On the other, Charles's direct way of speaking was barely tempered by his polite tone.
The easiest path out of the situation would be to tell him she already had a date, but Miranda still wasn't sure whether she should be so forthcoming with the news while the dance had yet to happen. Sure, she and Henry had decided to stop keeping the fact that they were boyfriends and girlfriend such a secret, but she still felt a bit uncomfortable mentioning it to people she knew, much less a complete stranger. So that meant Miranda would have to find a different way to dissuade him, preferably as politely as possible. If all else failed, she could go for the rude approach.

Charles watched the girl take his hand and introduced herself as Miranda Everest, Charles bought her hand up a bit as he lightly brushed his lips against her hand before placing it down and saying " a pleasure Miranda Everest of Hogwarts," Charles gave the girl his usual charming half smile before continuing " I am thirteen third year at Dumstrang institute along with my older brother Andrew Alluring were both from the Alluring family, a family well known in the wizarding world," Charles then gave another head bow as he gave his small introduction which was partly a lie since he was only twelve turning thirteen next month and hated his family at the moment along with his older brother.
Never less Charles pushed those thoughts aside as he focused only on the lovely girl in front of him speaking again " now that we are acquainted with each other madam," Charles gave half charming smile and stood straight up before speaking again " would you go to the dance with me?" Charles then held his hand out waiting for her to take it as he kept his charming half smile on awaiting her answer.

Miranda didn't make any comment that she wouldn't be able to tell an Alluring from a Potter from an Everett. That skill was one for the rest of her family, but the estranged branch she belonged to had nothing to do with the wider world of "wizarding families". However, she was a bit surprised to hear he was thirteen...he definitely didn't seem more mature than her. But then again, Miranda had been told she was quite mature for her age more than once, so perhaps that played a part in it.
However, her considerations were abruptly dragged to a halt as Charles once again asked if she'd go to the dance with him. This time he also put out his hand, as if waiting for her to take it. An invitation.
No way was she accepting.
"Look, I'm really not the dancing type - " Lie. " - and just because I know your name doesn't mean I know you." Miranda had no idea why she continued to stall, but saying a straight out no didn't sound like the most tactile response. But it was equally frustrating how he refused to take the hint. Or maybe he was just stubborn. Either way, it was getting on her nerves.

Still she said no, Charles knew he shouldn't have but something in him told him to continue. Charles gave his signature half smile as he spoke " well then we could get to know each other more at the ball," he stood straight up arms by his side except for his right which was out with his hand waiting for Miranda to take it as he spoke " so would you do me the pleasure of going to to the ball with me, Miranda Everest of Hogwarts?"
Charles knew he shouldn't be asking her, he was taking Cassie; his good friend to the ball but something told Charles to ask and it wouldn't hurt since she kept on saying no. Turning him down, it was odd usually most girls wouldn't have said no with Charles's good looks and constand flirting but this one was different, was that the reason why Charles wasn't leaving her alone?
Charles never had too many experiences with Hogwarts girls but after this one he didn't really want to have any more since she kept on refusing his hand but of course maybe there was something else going on? Whenever there was or not, one thing was clear Charles wouldn't stop trying to ask Miranda Everest to the ball.

My, he was stubborn. Miranda wasn't all that perceptive to others' feelings herself (most of the time), but even she would've been able to notice when someone was so obviously not happy with the conversation. And yet somehow the Durmstrang boy kept going.
"Look," Miranda began. She paused a moment, then reached over and gently pushed Charles's outstretched hand away. "I'm sure you're a nice person, but I really don't want to go to the dance-" with you "-much anyways. I'm not a good dancer anyways...you're not missing out on much." She fidgeted slightly where she stood, yet continued to meet Charles's gaze straight on.
While most of the Miranda's words had been at least semi-true (she tried not to think of her half-truth, but it nagged at her however much she tried), she still felt uncomfortable, and the idea of leaving suddenly crossed her mind. However, after a glance at the exit to the pitch, she dismissed the idea. If bolting had been a good idea, she would've done it a while ago. Now Miranda just had to wait and hope thinks could be resolved in a better way - hopefully without her having to reveal she already had a date.Apologies for my late reply on this and many of our other RPs. RL is pretty busy for me at the moment

English in brown@Miranda Everest sorry for the waitCharles heard her words and looked at her, why was she keep declining his offer and at least in his mind without a proper excuse. Charles never been on for subtle hints or anything like that, he wasn't to smart more like avenge so the boy seemed to not get the multiplied hints that he should leave or let her leave instead he was persisted and kept on trying which meant that conversation was up to get real bad.
"Dancing? Is that why you won't go with me because you can't dance? Well than I could teach you, I learn from a early age because of my family and would be more than happy to teacher you," Charles spoke with his signature half smile as he stepped between her and the exit on accident of course as he held out his hand again this time saying " would you go to the ball with me and let me teach you how to dance before, my lady," Charles bowed as he kept his hand out waiting for her to take it, waiting for something that will never come.
There were moments that allowed Charles to wonder if the blonde haired girl would ever take his hand and agree to go with him to the ball or if she would just walk away. Leaving the Dumstrang boy alone, standing to himself and asking what just happened but then he would remember Cassie; a friend from beauxbatons who by just being around produced the urge for the boy to be himself and not flirt with every pretty girl that he has seen.
