The Fall Ball (Masquerade)
first section, lana | second section, fyodor______________________________________open to interactions.
The day of the ball had practically snuck up on Lana, the talk and chatter around the school bringing her to reality. The dread had filled her immediately, not just because of the fact that'd she'd have to waste her night away in a ballroom. No, she dreaded it because she would have to arrive with Enzo, the "allmighty" french boy she was so joyfully arranged to go with.
Rather than dressing up like the other girls in the year, or every girl for that matter.. Lana chose to wear something more her taste, in which case it would be her arriving in an overly sized trenchcoat and a simple laced mask. Out of place, sure, though she couldn't fathom showing up in a ballgown.
She had arrived unannounced, though heads still seemed to turn to her direction. Only for a second did the other students meet her eyes, soon then returning to their partying festivities. Lana searched through the crowd for her friends, the ones she had left anyway. Alas, no one seemed to show. For a moment she considered leaving once again, something telling her there was no point in participating in something so pointless. Yet she ventured farther into the ballroom, taking note of the scenery around her. Flash had certainly outdone himself.
Upon walking father, she had found herself in front of several students, one in particular grabbing her attention. Who else could have blinding green hair like that.. Lana looked down at @Jane Victoria's rapier and giggled, tapping them on the shoulder from behind. Not intending to scare them, she wore a small smile that appeared to be seemingly genuine. It had then struck her that she had failed to mention her connection with Enzo at all, causing her to internally wince. She figured she could brush it off, couldn't she? They hated each other, so why would he hang around her anyway?
Nonetheless, she nodded at Jay and spoke softly. "Something tells me I'm a bit underdressed."
______________________________________The very much anticipated Masquerade ball had come to light, the talk between the students buzzing around the entire school. Fyodor, not caring nor bothering to obtain a date, arrived on his own elegantly. He was dressed marvelously, an all-black suit paired with sleek leather shoes to match. It was made apparent that he had much of a night ahead of him, though he still seemed to be bored.open to interactions.
The ballroom was certainly alive, the entire school appearing to have squeezed themselves into the large area. Part of himself wondered if he should go and try his luck in the costume party, though figured there was no point in walking all the way to the Rehearsal Room. Hell, he'd probably get lost on his way.
Instead, the pompous Ilvermorny student stood quietly by the refreshments table, his eyes scanning each individual near him. He had spotted Charles, though figured not to disturb him and his "date". He let out a small chuckle as he watched his friend try and appeal to the french girl standing with him, causing him to look away from sheer second-hand embarrassment. Should someone approach Fyodor himself, no one is to say for sure how he'd respond.

Ball, ball, ball.
Everyone was talking about the ball. Whispers, rumours, outfit planning - the like. Girls and boys setting up dates, Beauxbatons, Ilvermorny and Durmstrang arriving, frantic shopping for gowns and masks...it was exciting to say the least. A buzz of adrenaline seemed to wash over Hogwarts as October 16th dawned on a pleasant Friday. The date had been set up well, as the students would just have finished their lessons that day. Now the time had come as numerous pupils and professors flooded in the ballroom. Some might've been wary, the events of the Secret Blossom Ball playing on their minds.
Scarlett had not gotten to attend the infamous Secret Blossom Ball for reasons still undetermined. Tonight would be different - tonight would be exciting. She wasn't going to be left out. Hell to the no. Obviously Scarlett hadn't scored a date. The very thought of it was incredulous. Yet it made her feel rather inadequate as she entered the Masquerade part of the ball. Perhaps she would visit the 'fun' area later. Loosen up a bit.
She had gotten ready with Rose and a few first years in her dormitory. Needless to say, with Rose's skill with hair, everyone looked fabulous. Scarlett's own dress was shorter than many - she herself opting for a knee-length gown rather than flat-out finery.
As she entered the room, her eyes immediately swivelled round to search for someone she knew. Where was Rose? Aurelia? Lindsey? Cassie? Scarlett had met with her childhood friend just a few days ago. Scarlett had always thought Cassie was a Muggle, but apparently not. She seemed to have mastered Vanishing Charms as well - her friend was nowhere to be seen. But then-
A swish of dark hair. Lucia.
"Oh my god, finally!" laughed Scarlett breathlessly, as she ran over in her sandal-type flats. She fumbled for her mask and produced it with a whoosh. "Ta-da!"
Scarlett placed it on her face. "Well, what do you think? It's so nice to actually have someone I know here. This place is massive!"────── ☆ ───────────── ☆ ───────OCTOBER 16TH

The trip to England hadn't gone very well for Elise, until a few days ago. Up until then, it had just been skulking around everyone else, trying to work up the courage to apologize to people, trying to swallow her pride and attempt to be - you know - nice. Needless to say, it hadn't gone well. Every word that came out of her immaculately-glossed lips was snarky or sarcastic. Every action, every movement seemed either violent or moody. It looked like negativity ran through her blood. Elise had evidently inherited her father's darker side.
But then Maximilien came along. Asked her to the ball. And she accepted.
Maxi looked sweet and nice. He didn't deserve someone like her. She had seen him talking to another girl when Beauxbatons arrived - perhaps a sort of short fling? Was the girl flirting with Maxi? Elise was too busy wallowing in self-pity to notice. She wished she hadn't been so dramatic. Nonetheless, Elise was incredibly excited. Her first date, her first ball! What would her mother say-
You don't think about that, she warned herself. Elise diverted all thoughts of mothers and shuffled into the ballroom. Hogwarts certainly was elegant, but Beauxbatons would always have bias on their side. Elise's neck felt itchy. She tugged at her collar and wondered if the black and silver was a bit extra.
Where are you Maxi...
Elise felt a tad anxious. Did he abandon her for that other girl? No, he wouldn't. He had asked her out to the ball. He wouldn't cheat, or anything. Anyway, it was only the start of the ball - plenty more people were streaming inside the ballroom by the seconds. All she had to do was wait.
No heart breaks this time around. She had to believe it.────── ☆ ───────

To say Alec was nervous wouldn't even be half of it. Alec wanted to hang out and have fun. Get a bit out there. But as the hours ticked by, his anxiety rose high. What if people thought he was weird for going alone? Would he be stared at for his.. Interesting outfit choice? Was the nail polish too much? Or would the thing people think that's weird about him be the way he talked? O-or maybe even walked? Alec felt sick.
Alec adjusted his mask making sure it was on good enough.Maybe it wasn't the best idea to go. He'd thought this year he was going to try new things. And try to enjoy himself. But mostly it'd been shoving his face in a book. And hoping people don't notice you exist. The war raged on deep inside his mind. It was straining him mentally as he made his way towards the Ballroom.
He needed to take a deep breath. Things were going to be fine. People aren't going to find you any more weird than they had last time they saw you(hopefully). And if any of your friends do recognize you. They're not gonna care what you're wearing. And besides, your parents can't yell at from afar for wearing nail polish if they don't know about it. And so with this Alec had been able to convince himself things were going to be fine. And so now. He could finally walk into the Ballroom.
Alec strode into the room. Fake confidence in place of any real confidence as he looked around. The place was just.. Wow.. Alec bit back a smile. Shoving his hands into his pockets as his eyes watched closely, taking in the details. Alec knew Hogwarts students could pull off some pretty great things. But wow.. This so far taking place as one of the top ten. The place really did look wonderful. It must've been a lot of work to organize things. Alec would've thought it may have taken a lot of work to set up as well. But he assumed some spells were used in the process. Either way, Alec wasn't going to deny that the planning for such an event must've been stressful. Alec's eyes glazed all the decorations once more before they settled on a far corner in the room.
Just because he came to have fun and get out there. Doesn't mean he couldn't take a people break right away. Or, well, that was Alec's 'justifiable' excuse, anyway. Alec made his way to the space. Residing there comfortably. Or as comfy as one could be standing there. Alec decided to survey the room. People watching was always an option. You know if Alec looked hard enough he could probably find something interesting to entertain himself. Or another option if he didn't wanna be creepy. Was simply using his imagination. His mind was more of a free world than this ever would be. Alec let out a small sigh, taking his hands out of his pockets. Messing with them anxiously as his gaze fell to his painted nails. His parents were going to be furious if they ever found out.
And chances were
his trail of bad luck was still following him around.

Action André being André(it works because it's true)
André sighed. Was attending this really necessary? Yes. André knew that was coming. Curse him and his low social battery. He'd had enough chattering today, trying to keep up his act. He didn't think he could handle much more. He was bound to break at some point.
Even if André hadn't realized this yet, others had. André wasn't some super human who could do everything and do it perfectly. Oh, how he wished when he faced reality that this was the truth. Things needed to be perfect. It wasn't just a matter of wanting them to be perfect. With André they Had to be.
Because the things he could make both as perfect and as horrible as he wanted. Were the things he could control. And it was the only control he had over things in his life. Why didn't anybody realize this? How the boy got perfect O's on everything. But every so often ended up with a T as a grade for the thing he'd gotten an O for only just a bit ago. It was control. He needed it to function. When things were going wrong. Or his worries took over. He messed with the things he could control to help cope.
Well, at least today André got to control who.. That was worded wrong.. He needed to try that again. At least André got to pick who he was going with if he was forcing himself to go to this event. That sounded better. Besides, André guessed at least this way he could threat measure some people here. Sure he'd never see most of them ever again. But it was good to know.
When André finally walked into the Ballroom, his face was met with surprise. Which he covered with a smile. The type of smile those flirty type of guys use. André wasn't a 'flirty guy' himself. But he had to admit he did use his looks and flirting to his advantage at times.
Yes, he already knew.
He was no saint.
André rolled his eyes at his own thoughts as he put his attention back on the decoration. It was decent.. André.. Approved of it. It went along well with the theme. He had nothing bad to think or say about it just yet. The appropriate opinion on this Ball. Would be decided later. But so far. Not that bad.

The Fall Ball (Masquerade)
The weather outside was horrendous, to put it simply. A bit creepy as well, she had to admit. But that would do nothing to affect the way the Masquerade went, Miranda was sure. After the fiasco she'd heard of the Blossom Ball, surely the professors and student organizers would put extra effort into ensuring the safety of all attendees.
Putting the matter from her mind, Miranda slipped her mask off of her bedside table and stared at it with a critical eye. It looked impeccable, as did the majority of her costume, excluding a few small rumples in her dress, but she still felt a bit on edge. As much as she wanted the evening to go off without a hitch, there was some odd feeling, no doubt intensified by the gloomy weather outside, that things would end up going wrong. And she had no idea how or what it would be.
A particularly loud blast of thunder made her startle, and Miranda fumbled with the mask for a moment before finally slipping it on and heading for the door. She didn't want to be late, and if she fell into thinking too hard, it just might happen.
The halls were more or less empty, but as Miranda approached the ballroom on the fourth floor, more and more people began to coalesce onto the same path as her. Many were dressed up in similarly fancy costumes, while others were dressed up as characters from books, or other things she didn't recognize. A few weren't dressed up at all.
She entered the room just outside of the ballroom and glanced around, searching for a familiar face. Finally she spotted him amidst the crowd - Henry Knight, her boyfriend and date to the ball. He was wearing mostly black, and looked well, even more handsome than he usually did in his costume. Miranda was never one to notice that kind of thing too much, but it was a glaring fact at the moment.
"Henry?" she called, taking off her mask so he'd recognize her easier as she approached. "Hi..." her voice trailed off as she glanced around, suddenly feeling a bit self-conscious.

It was an exciting night. Too exciting. Tonight was the night of the ball. Well, a party would also be occurring, but Nell had chosen to attend the Masquerade Ball. It was a little nerve wracking for the second year. She hadn't been to a ball in her life, so, it would be interesting. Nell wondered how everyone was going to approach this after the Secret Blossom Ball. Nell hadn't attended it, but she had heard so many rumors of disaster. Oh, how she hoped this ball wouldn't be the same.
The second year was dressed in one of her favorite outfits. She had brought a dress - light blue dress that went down to her knees - from her home. And, she was glad she did. It fit her marvelously even though it was older. Even with its age, the dress had maintained is delicateness over the years. Nell wore the dress with a sense of... confidence. Nell normally wasn't very confident, resulting in her hoard of large sweaters and various pieces of the like.
With the dress Nell wore smooth, white heels. She had never worn heels like these before so it would be... an experience. She had gotten these shoes before entering her second year and, fortunately, they still fit due to Nell's lack of growth. Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. That goes for so many things, doesn't it? A saying Nell's mother never failed to remind her.
Of course, to top off everything, Nell wore her Masquerade mask. She absolutely loved it. The nose shape of the mask fit Nell perfectly, and the silk lace tied around her head with such an ease. The mask was embellished with silver designs swirling and turning each and every way. Nell could see everything through the two eye holes, so, her vision wasn't even blocked in the slightest.
Nell ceased to doddle up very much, since she didn't fancy being looked at by passerbys in the castle. However, today was a special occasion. She didn't feel the need to do anything to the top of her face, knowing it would be concealed by her mask. So, she used a few products to conceal her stupid acne. Oh, how she hated all that. And that was all for makeup. For her hair she put it in some sort of braided bun. Nell didn't have a clue to describe it. With the bun she put a little tiara thingy.
Zoldak made her way into the ballroom - already filled with quite a few people. No. She would not get nervous tonight. She was going to enjoy herself. With a smirk, she glanced around. Nell spirits were up, and boy was she ready to have the night of her life.

Benjamin was very, very, very excited. No, not just because he was at the one and only Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but because he was attending the Masquerade Ball. The clumsy second year looked at himself in the mirror. He had had to find an outfit yesterday, so, not the best use of time. Since he'd arrived at Hogwarts, all he'd done was waltz around the castle, chatting with the paintings. Only at 10 P.M. last night had he remembered that there was a ball tomorrow. In a rush he searched for an outfit. Looking at himself he smirked. He had done pretty well for a last minute job.
The boy was wearing a simple navy suit. His jacket was buttoned nicely and everything was ironed - no wrinkles, for once. Under his suit he wore a white collared shirt, and he kept the collar tucked in. He didn't feel the need to tuck it out, and he didn't even think it looked good anyway. The sleeves of the white shirt peeked out from beneath the suit sleeves. He thought it looked fine, though. In the left chest pocket of the suit, he tucked in a literal tissue. He'd seen his dad always put something in the pocket, but he hadn't a clue what it was. So, he settled on a literal tissue. To finish off the clothing part of Ben's outfit, he put on a simple white tie. He was thankful to find velcro one since (A) He didn't know how to tie a tie and (B) He didn't want to ask anyone how to tie a tie.
But, In Benjamin's opinion anyway, the glam of the outfit was his mask. His Masquerade mask. It was gold. eat gold? Unlikely, but still. That mask has small little gears everywhere Obviously they didn't do anything but it looked spectacular. The mask reminded him of something that his best friend would make - small bits and pieces of various items put together to make a masterpiece. Another special aspect of the mask was that the left eye hole was not just an eye hole, but rather a hole that revealed his entire eye. he loved it. Benjamin hated being too concealed, so, this was the mask for him. Benjamin wore black dress shoes with his outfit - oh how proud his mother would be with him dressing well. His hair was quite messy, but, eh.
As Benjamin entered the ballroom. He glanced around quickly. It looked oh so very magnificent. He was so very ready for the might ahead of him.

Coding inspired by Rafael D'SpacitoThe Gryffindor swept into the ballroom. She was, for the first time in a long time, looking forward to this night. It was literally impossible for it to go worse than the last ball she had been to. Of course, she was tempting fate by even thinking that, but she was optimistic. Still, she wasn't an idiot, and in addition to her wand, she had smuggled in a dagger. Better safe than sorry. Anyways, the dagger perfectly fit her aesthetic, so if somehow someone had an issue with it, she could just say it was a costume prop. Then again, if someone was able to see the dagger that was stepped inside of her skirt, they would have a more immediate problem of being punched in the face repeatedly by Ana for attempting to look up her dress.
She was nervous, but in a normal, teenage girl kind of way, not a terrified for her life way. She had thrown herself into choosing an outfit once she and Flash had decided on a theme. If there was one thing Beckett women were good at, it was committing all the way to a theme. Instead of going with the obvious red for a devil, she opted for black with a few pops of red for contrast. Her hair was in a loose half updo. She had learned in her many years of partying attending that going with a less intricate hairstyle meant the hair gradually loosening over the night was far less noticeable
As she entered, the aroma of spices rose to greet her. If she had to guess, she would say they were cider and probably pumpkin juice. No distinctive smell of coffee though, which seemed a shame to her. None of these evening balls ever had coffee, and she had resolved to always have coffee at events she might host. After all, if you were dancing the night away, what better time for coffee?
Now, to find her date. The endeavor was made slightly more difficult by the fact that she didn't actually know what his outfit looked like beyond being angel-themed. She caught sight of two people that she previously punched, and made a mental note to avoid them. While she was dressed to kill, she was actually hoping to just have a good time that night. Her year had started with her aunt dying and had managed to go downhill from there. She had more than earned a night of dancing and fun.
She didn't have to search long for her escort. She made her way over and smiled slightly. It was hard to look bad in a suit, but Flash looked stunning. It was almost unfair how good he looked, and she would have felt self-conscious if she hadn't gone completely overboard with her own outfit. Still, color rose to her cheeks when her eyes met his. "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" she said, smirking slightly. It was a stupid joke, but it went with his costume, and also, Flash in that suit was making her brain slow down. She was just glad that she had been able to formulate an actual sentence.

The skirt to her dress isn't quite as sheer as in the image.
Sarah’s stomach had been fluttering all day. A mix of excitement and nerves and possibly something else she couldn’t quite put her finger on. She’d attended balls since she was young, her father constantly hosting lavish events at the manor and inviting Sarah attended even when she’d rather have stayed away from him and his like-minded colleagues. Still, if meant she had plenty of practise when it came to such events as the Fall Ball. Granted, she’d never attended a ball with others her own age, a fact that was slightly daunting to the Slytherin, but she took it in her stride and decided there was no point in dwelling over her slight nerves.
She’d spent the last few hours getting ready in the dorm rooms, rooms which had been filled with girls from every year in beautiful gowns and fantastic Halloween costumes. She was certain she’d seen someone dressed up as a pumpkin. It was strange, the complete juxtaposition between the two events being held - one formal and mysterious, the other far more casual and charmingly childish. This stark contrast had been more than apparent in everyone’s choice of attire for the evening. Sarah had chosen a long black gown with a slightly sheer skirt covered in hand-embroiled gold stars and bell sleeves which had immediately caught her attention.
It had been love at first sight and Sarah had known no other dress would suffice.
She’d paired it with a low pair of black heels - ones she’d found comfortable enough to dance in so knew they wouldn’t hurt her feet - and her mother’s black choker. When she’d put the jewellery on, she’d felt strange, a mix of sadness as she reminisced on the loss of her mother, and jubilation at having something her mother had treasured so close to her. She’d taken a few balancing breaths, before joining some of the other Slytherin girls with completing the finishing touches on their outfits. She’d once again found herself playing hairdresser with Opeila, something she’d enjoyed to no end, and had offered help to a few of the first years. When she’d finally been happy with her appearance, she’d grabbed her mask and headed out of the dungeons towards the ballroom.
She’d agreed to meet Paisley just outside the room, being from different houses meaning they’d had to get ready separately, and so when she arrived, she moved to one side of the corridor in search of her friend. She’d jumped at the chance to attend the ball with the Gryffindor, both because it meant she’d managed to avoid going alone, but also because she knew the pair of them were bound to have a fantastic time together. She smiled to herself, anxiously tapping her fingers against her thigh as she looking around for her friend, bursting with excitement to get into the ballroom and hopefully have the night of her life.

When Logan had found out about the ball, she was not excited in the least. Her aunt on the other hand had enough excitement for the both of them. She had immediately started making her young niece a dress and that is how Logan ended up standing in the entrance to the ball room.
The young Hufflepuff had not bothered to find a date, she honestly didn't enough know how long she was going to stay, but she decided to enjoy the night as it was. She hadn't put much time into looking nice, just a little bit of makeup and her hair had slight curls. She did not see a point in looking extravagant with her makeup if she was going to be wearing a mask the whole night anyway.
The dress Logan was wearing was a silver blue, with lace designs the whole way across it. Carousel horses made their way around the dress, being the twelve year old's favorite part of the dress. Her mask was a similar color, with swirling designs around it.
With a sigh, the young girl slowly made her way into the ball room hoping to be able to identify someone. Sadly, almost everyone was wearing a mask so she was not able to identify anyone at that point. Logan made her way across the room, avoiding bumping into any couples as she got to a clear spot against the wall. Smiling she looked across the room as she gently tapped her foot to the waltz playing throughout the room.

It was that time of the year again. It was Quinn's favorite time of the year to be honest and also his favorite month of the entire year. It reminded him the most of his home during this time of the year. The way the leaves would change, the changing of the weather, the warm hot meals and drinks of his home. But most of all it was the feelings that it evoked inside of him. Plus the added bonus was that this was the month of Halloween and his birthday so yay Quinn!
As these thoughts passed through his mind, the incredibly tall and large Half-Giant stepped into the very macabre and Gothic themed Ballroom. As he glanced about he noted how the skulls, cobwebs, and candles really sold the theme. It created a very conducive and mysterious atmosphere. As Quinn looked around individual's would be able to instantly tell who he was by his size alone.
The Irish Half-Giant stood at a very impressive 8 feet 5 inches by this point. It almost seemed like he grew an inch a month at the rate he was going. Even more impressive was how Quinn had been filling out recently. Gone was the inhumanly lanky arms and legs. They were were replaced with thick arms that were like miniature logs. He carried a very athletic build to him that was tall and slowly becoming more stocky as he packed on more natural muscle with his growth. He wasn't quite barrel chested yet but quickly getting there as was plain to see with his wide broad shoulders.
Befitting his size he wore something that truly allowed him to stand out. He wore a fitted burgundy colored suit that hugged his frame unintentionally due to his growing body. Unknown to anyone else it wasn't a fitted suit but actually a classic-fit that look fitted because of his size and build giving off the appearance. Along with that he wore a stark white dress shirt that almost appeared silk if not a fine cotton. Wearing a dark golden tie and having a hankerchief of the same dark golden color in his left suit jacket pocket really complemented the colors. Along with that he wore large, Marrone colored Paul Evans Cagney cap toe dress shoes and black dress socks.
Of course, he wore a nice gold rimmed watched, not real obviously, with a brown leather band, and chain that went from his soot jacket pocket to the collar of his suit jacket. To complete his look, he had kept his hair long as it went past his shoulders but it was done up in a slight up do with. It was tied together by multiple large braids that wrapped around the side of his head to keep the hair in place. Giving a very viking feel to the style of his thick, wavy almost curly burnt orange hair. He wore a golden mask that appeared metal and bore extremely intricate in its designs as it only covered the top half of his face. His bright emerald-blue eyes shined through almost perfectly.
What covered the lower half of his face was surprisingly a full blown thick medium-length beard. It was surprisingly well kept and trimmed despite its size and completely covered the lower half of his face and lower cheeks. The rest of his exposed face showed of the sea of freckles. No doubt with the braids and beard especially that he had ample help. Must be those amazing Jotun genes doing their work with the young lad.
Smirking the young lad from Hufflepuff checked his watch, while one hand was in his pocket. He walked around quietly, clearly looking for someone. He stood out like a sore thumb anyway, but seemed to embrace it nonetheless. This would be a lovely dance and the music was absolutely perfect as he waited for mo chuisle. Whatever happened Quinn would ensure that he had a grand time filled with no regrets.

For once, he started to prepare early so that he wouldn't make Dealla unhappy with him by being late, he had a promise to keep after all. He was adorning a styled three-piece suit that matched the Irish gangster scene back in the 1920s, primarily black with white plaid stripes. A white dress shirt accompanied his attire, neck brought up tight by the sleek black tie that was held with a Pratt knot. The second-year thought he could have fit right into that era. Just in between his shirt and the lining of his suit jacket, an old school shoulder pistol holster was stationed there; it held the ivory-colored Aspen wood wand that he kept close to him at all times. A pair of cap-toe boots are worn, calf-skin, refurbished from old family members that his mother sent over by owl along with the rest of his outfit and matched quite nicely.
Although he knew the style of which Dealla had chosen her outfit, he hadn't yet seen it and there was a twinge of nervousness that radiated through him as he hoped he could fit the part in their pairing. Time started to pass fast and he didn't even notice, trying to make everything look perfect was taking its toll upon his tardiness. It wasn't until one of his fellow dorm mates had said something about themselves being late that Zykeal checked the time; he wanted to be early. Now though, it seemed he could arrive just in time if he started to run. Turning quickly to check himself over once more, the boy would make a run towards the door and heard a faint, 'mask', from one of his mates in the room. Zykeal drew the wand from inside his jacket in a flash and flicked it towards the black mask that was resting upon his bed, "Accio Mask," he said and the mask came flying into his outstretched hand just as he exited through the doorway.
There were no self-defining words that Zykeal could find within that mind of his that could explain the state of happiness that radiated within him at that moment as he ran down the stairs. Dealla Prince had agreed that he could take her to the dance, one that she helped organize. The boy was proud to have her by his side, to be by hers, in an equal way that could possibly allow him to drop his guard in an unexpected way. Dealla always had a way to her that made him question things, made him... run away at times. It wasn't until a few short weeks ago when she had walked away from him, instead of the opposite, that it hit him right in his chest; as if the wind was vacuumed right out of him. Where they were meeting wasn't far away from the Gryffindors common room, in fact, he was just one floor away. The tricky part was navigating the staircases though and it took an extra minute when one shifted right under his feet and made his pathing more difficult.
With the ballroom corridor insight, he slowed himself down to allow himself to catch his breath as he adorned the mask he had chosen to wear that night. It was a framework style mask, covering just where the black metal pieces held the design together, see-through, with a set of devil horns that perked up on each side of his forehead. When he gathered himself complete, he patted himself down and made sure everything was in place before he slowly walked towards the gathered crowd and shifted through easily.
It wasn't hard to spot the bobbing girl in a beautiful white dress that seemed to radiate amongst the rest of the student body. Golden hues brightened even more than possible at the sight of her, there was a symphony of synonyms for the word beautiful, but, he couldn't find one that matched how truly amazing she appeared. Zykeal would have openly gawked if his pride would have allowed him; it didn't though. With graceful steps, he wove his way through the crowd until he could approach her from behind, a smile pushing across his features under that mask of his. A hand raised up, he'd rest it on the side of her upper arm as he leaned in to whisper in her ear.
"You look beautiful, Princess," he said softly, the 12-year-old offering a little bit of the charm of the Irish.
