Lost In The Halls
Barret could hear the clack of her dark shoes against the stone floor. The back of her scalp slightly stung from the fact that today she had attempted to pull her red, chin length hair into a sad looking ponytail that bobbed up and down as she tried to find her way back to the dormitory. She was coming from the library, in school she had never been the brightest, so she knew she needed all of the studying she could get.
However she had found the library quite...confusing...She had blindly grabbed whatever books off the shelves she could...She hoped that at least one book out of the stack would be useful, things weren't looking so hopeful especially when the title staring her in the face was How To Properly Charm Your Roast Beef. The pile of books lurched slightly to the left.
"Holy crap!" She exclaimed.
I should've been smarter about this... She thought miserably. She was now regretting not being more selective about her book choice. She attempted to peek around the large stack that she had created. C'mon...You got this...You can do this...Perhaps if I go a little faster I can be done with this sooner.. She immediately increased her pace and slammed into a wall.

Amanda was currently on her way back from the library, headed to the Gryffindor common room. She had her hands in the pockets of her robe, her blonde bangs hanging gently in her face as she watched her feet click clack on the floor in the empty hallway. The sounds of her feet were muffled by someone else's frantic footsteps, and she looked up quickly. She saw the red headed girl crash into the wall, her books about to topple.
Amanda's eyes widened and she ran over, catching the books before they slammed onto the poor girls feet. She slowly set them down on the ground, confused at the title of the book on top. How to Charm Your Roast Beef? must be an interesting book. Maybe she'd have to ask to borrow it some time. She ripped herself from her thoughts, looking up to see if the girl was alright. She noticed the girl might've hit her head on the stack of books, reaching out gently with her hands.
"H-hey.. are you alright? Do you need to go to the infirmary?" She asked cautiously, not wanting to upset her or maybe get too close.

"H-Huh?"
She blinks confusedly...Her face then turns tomato red when she realized what was happening. She had been caught getting wrapped up in her stupidity by a cute girl. Her miserably made pony tail had became mangled..Oh Noooooo...She sat up and gave the other girl a embarrassed look...She realized warm liquid was starting to pour from her nose.
She quickly puts her hand over her face. She looks down in embarrassment. How do I even explain this? Falling because you have gathered a large stack of books for almost no reason sounds quite dumb... She thinks as she looks down...She slowly looks up and shrugs at a attempt of being nonchalant...She gives a light giggle...
"It's fine...I don't need to go to the infirmary..." Her tone was cheery and happy despite her current situation...She slowly stands up.
She looks around the room realizing she had another slew of issues. Huuuh?! You have gotta be kidding me! She sighs... Why did Evan and Sadie have to get the good eyesight, Genes are weird! She shook her head as if she was attempting to erase such thoughts from her head. Jealous of her siblings? What?? Never! They had never wronged her! However when thinking about this.. Darker thoughts loomed over this...Envy, anger, and regret threated to come closer to the front of her mind. To fix this she smiles and pushes it to the back of her mind. How dare she think such things!
She brings herself to focus back on the current situation, despite it being quite chaotic and embarrassing focusing it was better than betraying her siblings with her thought. She realizes that the girl had somehow managed to catch the books that she had dropped..
"Ah..."
Woooah! She must have a lot of dexterity! She now is even more embarrassed to be so dumb in front of someone so impressive!
"T-Thank you...Can you help me find my glasses...? I lost them during the fall...I hope they're not broken.."

Amanda watched as the girl looked up at her, a blush coming to Amanda's face as well. They sat in silence for half a moment, just studying the other. It was interrupted when blood started to rush from the girls nose.
"O-oh no! You're bleeding! You definitely need to go see the nurse!" Amanda held her hands out to her, not knowing what to do. She slowly stood up with the girl, her being at least 2 or 3 inches taller than Amanda was. She saw the girls giggle and happy tone, and was a bit confused. She was stunned for a moment by the pretty smile on the girls face, but then was distracted by the dripping blood. She asked Amanda to help look for her glasses, in which she immediately nodded, searching the floor. She found them next to the stack of books that Amanda had caught, unharmed. She picked them up, careful to not let her fingers touch the glass to not smudge them. She stood up, gently sliding them onto the girls face with a small smile.
"T-there you go.. good as new!" She blushed a bit, holding her hand out to her.
"Let's go see the nurse about your nose, we can come back for your books after, okay..?" She suggested, hoping the girl would take her up on her offer to help.
