The hallway leading into the ballroom had been absolutely transformed for the occasion. How the Professors and Staff pulled it off without any of the students seeing? Well, that was their secret to keep. As students finished trick or treating at all the locations they chose to visit they would end up here. There would be a dimly lit tunnel covered in spiderwebs, perhaps not the best choice for those in Slytherin but perhaps they had gotten over their fear of spiders since the incident. The smokescreen spell, Fumos, was in full effect leaving the end of the tunnel barely visible. Thank goodness for the enchanted candles lining the floor on either side. Hufflepuffs were sure to avoid the fire hazards on the side, sure it wasnβt their common room. But no one in that house wanted to awaken the castle to a fiery inferno consuming the ballroom. They were headed through to their treat, or perhaps it was a trick. They wouldnβt know until it was too late..
As they broke through the smoke-filled tunnel they would see the ballroom completely made over. The walls were lined with spooky old trees that were reminiscent of the Forbidden Forest. This would hopefully not be one that the Ravenclaws ended up falling victim to, no, for now they seemed harmless. The fumos continued into the general ballroom as well, but this time it seemed to stay close to the ground rather than filling the entire area. Swirling beneath the studentβs feet as they wandered around the mysterious forest they found themselves in. Above their heads were floating jack-o-lanterns and skulls. Black candles barely illuminating the room with dim flickers of lights that threatened to go out. Hopefully no one was scared of the dark, as it seemed like they could be plunged into it at any moment. As soon as they walked through the tunnel they would be greeted by the resident Astronomy Professor, Kateri Karr, donning a pirate costume. There she would offer them a choice of one of five bags, the final official goodie of the night. The five options of the bag decoration were ghost, mummy, spider, jack-o-lantern, and bat. Each student would need to make a choice before heading in for the rest of the evening's festivities.
You can note here as well, but be sure to include your bag
choice in the original errand tracker!
One of the only other sources of light was a muggle movie of Nosferatu being played by an old hand-crank movie player operated by the new librarian, Robyn, that had obviously been swindled into the job. Between her and the movie projection on one of the walls were an absurd amount of blankets and pillows littering the floor for people to relax and get cozy for the movie. Students could move them around as needed to make bigger piles, or for a single blanket and pillow moment for a solo trick-or-treater enjoying the night.
Despite having spent their whole night getting treats, it was obvious that the sugar-filled haze they were about to be in would only be further supported by even more treats. There were tables on the opposite side of the movie lining one of the walls. There were drinks provided such as water, pumpkin juice, and lemonade. The drinks were in pitchers with orange and black cups provided. Next to that table was even more candy, cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels. All seeming to be surrounding and pouring out of a skeleton spread out on a platter, which was not edible. Do not attempt to eat the skeleton. The tables themselves were covered in caution tape, perhaps the food and drinks were poisoned? What was there to be cautious about? Surely the food would be safe if it was provided by the staff.
There were raised tables for students to stand around, some of them did have tall stools around, and chat while having a place for their food and drink. They were covered with a purple tablecloth that reached the ground, topped with an antique lantern with a small enchanted candle inside. The staff really made sure everything that could cause a fire was enchanted to ensure the night would not end poorly, at least in inferno. There could still be drama to come between students that would sour the night for some. The wonderful Slytherin Prefect, Nico Shymane, could be seen gliding along the room keeping a close watch on those in attendance. A navy topcoat and hat to complement the jet black plague doctors mask covering the prefect's face. Close by the new Librarian, Robyn Finley, was spotted wearing a dapper looking striped suit for the occasion ready to attend to any hexed children that should enter and preparing for her nightly task as projector crank operator extraordinaire.
Between the two areas hung a large chandelier that seemed to be slightly swaying? It was absolutely covered in cobwebs that obscured the brilliant detailing of the crystals that covered it. The crystals rang quietly through the hall with the slight swaying, filling the room with a continuous soundtrack of the danger of a fallen chandelier. Everything had been set up to give the students of the school a final spook. It was completely safe and there was no true danger posed to them. But, the only people that knew that for sure was the staff. The students would be left to wonder and jump at the slightest shadow of their fellow student that wandered the ballroom.
If at some point in the trick-or-treating occasion you were hexed by taking too much candy, Robyn is available for slight god-modding that involves them only getting their hex removed. There wouldnβt be much emotion in the interaction, just a simple cast before she returned her attention to working the movie. Feel free to interact with her for advice on how to remove quill ink from oneβs forehead.*FOR THOSE WIX SUFFERIN' SOME TRIX*
*Remember* You need to have at least 400 WC minimum in this area to finish up your posting for rewards!
AS FOR MODDING... Kateri, Robyn, and Nico are the staff on duty here. Other's may attend for the sake of parties but we will be modding the area. We will give everyone until *OCTOBER 20th* to enter if you want to make it in before the movie starts. You may join after but we'll end up doing a middle event mod post to say the projector is going and people are settled in for the movie that evening.

After a busy night of trick-or-treating, together with his best friend @Dan Palmer, Batman Andrew would follow the stream of students and make his way over to the Ballroom. Entering the spooky tunnel, he found himself siding closer to Dan, the slightest brush of physical contact giving him reassurance and the mental support he needed, bracing himself for whatever jump scares that would happen. Andrew wasn't normally scared - not of the dark or of spiders - but Halloween was a different atmosphere. Embracing the scared-ness and allowing himself to be scared was all part of the fun. Once he got worked up into it, Andrew would behave skittishly and yelp at the slightest movement. Quite contradictory to his stoic Batman character (which he rarely was able to stay in character for long) but that all the more encouraged him to act more comical and get a few laughing reactions. It was all play-pretend anyways. Nothing to take too seriously. Famous last wordsβ¦
But just to be safe, Andrew stuck like glue to Dan's side, anxious nerves on edge, as if fearing any moment he separated himself from him, his partner would vanish into thin air like in one of those horror movies. Andrew clutched his pet rat tightly, holding the warmth of Penelope's furry little body close to him as he navigated his way through the hallway, soon to find Professor Karr waiting by at the end with goody bags to offer. Andrew would choose a Ghost bag from the assortment, adding it to his black tote bag full of treats before entering the Ballroom, which was remarkably dimmer in preparation for the movie. Hopefully no one would trip and fall and get hurt in this darkness. He certainly didn't want to lose Penelope in it, not letting the restless rodent down for a second while he walked around the room and became all giddy again at the sight of a sea of blankets and pillows that beckoned him to make a giant pillow fort out of.
But before his architectural plans could manifest, the attraction of food became main priority, and Andrew headed over to explore the buffet. Not so much deterred by the CAUTION tape (though it kind of went along with the "crime scene" aesthetic), seeing a skeleton splayed out on the table through him for a loop, wondering if the bones were real and had actually belonged to someone once-living. Hesitant to reach into the skeleton's "guts" at first, Andrew would shortly help himself to a few chocolate covered pretzels, followed with a cup of lemonade, a little hint of something savory and sour to break between the overwhelming sweetness of all the candy he had in tow (and had been snacking on quietly during the trick-or-treating phase). Andrew didn't want to risk spilling his drink or getting crumbs all over the pillow-and-blanket area, so he lingered around the tables for a while.
He could finally let Penelope divulge in her treats for being such a good sport and being carried everywhere. Letting the rat stretch her legs as Andrew placed her on top of one of the raised tables, he then fished out a mini cauldron bucket from his black tote bag of candy. The mini cauldron had been stuffed with one of everything, tiny morsels from Andrew's collection of candy he reckoned was safe for rats to eat (which was practically everything on the human list). While Penelope nibbled at a piece of candy corn between her paws, Andrew would munch and sip on his refreshments, waiting for the movie to start.

Barret slithered into the spooky tunnel that lead with to the ballroom, being frankly kind of tired. She had been nervously looking up and down while in the tunnel, but could see nothing due to the smoke. She took shaky breaths while traveling through.. Bracing herself for anything...The arms under her skin, hidden by scaly fabric had large mountain ranges of goose bumps. This continued until.. It was over? That was it? She gave a sigh of relief.. Surprised that nothing had jumped at her with the sole purpose of scaring her out of her coils. Now her eyes observed the ball room.Spots Visited: Muggle Studies Small Hall
There were many things she recognized from her numerous years of living in the muggle world, the world without magic. The Halloween movie playing, the blankets and pillows laid out onto the floor. This seemed like a normal event planned out by a normal school, however that illusion was soon broken when she realized that the typical decorations of skeletons and jack-o-lanterns were floating above their heads instead of somewhere on the ground or a table, somewhere that actually followed the rules of gravity. She kind of smirked at this, finding that fact that these simply decorations were disobeying one of the most well known laws of the universe using magic, amusing.
She turned her head towards the professor offering goodie bags. The endearingness of the cupcake ghost from now had influenced her decision to select the good bag decorated with the ghost. She happily pocketed it. Her costume was of course still growing more uncomfortable, but she would not stop until she had eaten a outrageous amount of junk food.
Her night would not be complete until she was feeling heavy from the sheer amount of food she had eaten and her eyelids were feeling droopy. She had spotted her target for the things necessary to make this happen. The sights of the pretzels, cupcakes and candy excited her. She had not minded the caution tape because no amount of caution could stop her conquest.. Also it was all just decoration...Right? Barret was willing to take the rest to complete the night and do what she had set out to do because she was a woman of her word, even if that word was unspoken and made only to herself. She sat by the skeleton, eating pretzels and tossing some candies into her bag that would hopefully last months later. However while doing so she had noticed a boy and a...Rat?
She wasn't too disgusted by rats, in fact she found their beady eyes and small hand like paws quite adorable. She walked up to the boy, assuming the cute rat was his.
"Can I pet your rat?" She asked@Andrew Vance .

After a day of trick and treating around the grounds, Henry left his messager type bag filled to the brim with treats in his dorm and changed into his costume which was a Lancelot costume which would pair with Miranda's Guinevere costume. Henry walked a bit slow to the great hall as he marvelled at the decoration set around Hogwarts, he didn't imagine an Halloween like this. Henry hadn't had too many memories of halloween so he was more than happy to create some at Hogwarts especially after his older brother told him all those stories about Halloween's at Hogwarts. It's just Henry never imagined he would he attending a halloween costume party or going with his girlfriend in matching costumes or even having a girlfriend.
Henry arrived at the great hall and before he knew it he spotted Miranda so Henry approached her as he spoke " amazing Guinevere costume Mira," Henry smiled at her before continuing " do you like my Lancet costume, " Henry stood like a knight for a few minutes before breaking to laughing and smiling at Miranda,
" should we go in then?"
Henry held his arm out to Miranda and smiled, whether or not she took his arm he would walk through the tunnel that in his opinion was a bit freaky and close to the exit of the tunnel there would be a spider web that fell at the exact time Henry would walk under it which would make hum stumble backward a bit before regaining his balance and laughing " that was close," stepping into the great hall Henry eyes darted to every single corner.
He saw a skeleton filled with candy and some cupcakes along Erin floating pumpkins and skulls but it was a bit hard to see since the hall was only lit by black candles which to Henry was the coolest thing ever as he leaned over to Miranda and spoke " this is wicked, especially the candles," Henry smiled at her as he adjusted his costume then saw the astronomy professor near a table with different types of bags on it so naturally Henry approached because his curiosity was to great as to not walk over there.
Henry saw they were each a different theme as Henry smiled at Miranda before speaking " do you think there's only candy in those?" Henry pointed toward the bags before continuing " which are you going to take? I think I'm going to take the bat themed one," Henry reached for a bag themed around the bat and held it by his side as he waited for Miranda to take hers.
After however Henry would look at the old movie player and at once would be curious on how it worked and had a thousand questions buzzing in his head, he bit his lip a bit but pushed those thoughts down as he turned to Miranda and spoke " curious that movie player is isn't it? Have you ever seen a movie Mira? I haven't, I think I'm a bit too excited for this, how do you think those work?" Henry then saw he was geeking out and ran a quick hand through his hair before holding out his hand to Miranda and saying " should we get a seat then? Before the uh movie starts?"

Sarah's first official Halloween had been everything she'd always dreamed. There wasn't anything she'd want to change, not the directions which adorned many of the corridors of the castle, nor the treats and sweets she'd received along her journey through the school. She'd even not minded walking the halls alone. If anything, she'd been able to appreciate it all that much more without the fear of someone mocking her for her over-enthusiasm. She could hardly be blamed for it, of course, feeling as though she'd waited for this for her entire life. Besides, she'd seen some of her friends along the way; there was Henry, who she'd ran into near the library with his girlfriend - the one she'd seen they attend the ball with - and there was Paisley whose costume had been so impressive that Sarah had hardly recognised the girl. She made a mental note to praise the girl on her makeup skills, the next time she saw her. In all, she doubted the night could get any better.
Then she made it to the fourth floor and she was immediately proved wrong. She took a minute to appreciate all the effort the staff had clearly gone to to create the scene before her, and without any of the students catching wind of it before tonight. It was a feat she'd not thought possibly. The corridor had been transformed, lit with flickering candles and covered in spiderwebs - ones she desperately hoped were fake.
As she stood at the mouth of the tunnel, hesitate to enter in case she'd missed a single detail, she saw clouds of smoke billowing around her feet, obscuring her view of the tunnel so she couldn't see more than a few feet in front of her. It was fantastic. She took a final look around the corridor before walking through the tunnel and towards the ballroom. The room was quickly becoming her favourite in the castle, with the ball and her dancing, and no doubt the spooktacular movie party she was about to attend would be the icing on the cake. She'd made it the majority of the way through the tunnel, artfully managing the drudge most of the hanging spiderwebs and silently proud of herself for doing so, until a particularly low hanging one caught in her hair. She let out a high-pitched squeal, swatting around her head until he offending web was off of her, and then quickly stepped away. She took a moment to compose herself, staring at the handing decorations with narrowed brows, before bursting into a fit of giggles. "Merlin, when did you become such a scaredy-cat, Sarah?," She scolded herself, still giggling as she reached the ballroom.
Sarah stood, wide-eyed and breath caught in her throat as she made it through the fog and into the ballroom. Her eyes ran over the decorations, flicking between the floating jack-o-lanterns and skulls to the eerie forest-scape that lined the walls. She was right, everything about this night was perfect. As she made her way in, she was briefly stopped by Professor Karr who stood smiling and greeting the students who entered. She approached the table she was stood at, covered in different bags, each with a different theme. Sarah's eyes immediately fell on the bat themed bag, something about the design intriguing her. "I'll take the bat bag, please," Sarah said with a small smile as she reached out to take the goodie bag. She hesitated for only a second before adding, "Your costume is wonderful by the way," before stepping away from the table and back into the main area od the ballroom.
After making a lap of the ballroom, eyes moving between the treats covering the tables around the room and the floating skulls, before finally landing on the large screen at one end of the ballroom. This was what she'd been most excited about. A movie. She'd never seen a movie before, her father having never liked the idea of something so muggle, but she'd always been curious. Especially of a horror film. She'd never seen one, but would bet anything on her enjoying one. She glanced the scattered pillows and blankets which looked extremely inviting, and made her way over to a particular large pillow. She sat down, eyes still dancing around the room as she waited for the movie to start. A small part of her wished she had someone to sit and share this experience with - a friend, or her brother perhaps - though she tried to ignore it. She wouldn't let anything sour her experience tonight.

Miranda's whole evening had been wonderful. The treats (and the searches for them) and been creative and delicious, although she'd yet to actually eat any. After she'd finished trick or treating with her boyfriend, Henry, Miranda had headed to the Ravenclaw dorm so she could leave her bag with her belongings and change int her costume. She and Henry had decided ahead of time to dress in complimentary costumes, and had decided upon the well-known matching of Lancelot and Guinevere from Arthurian legends.
Now she stood in the Great Hall, waiting for her boyfriend before they went to the Ballroom together, where the final part of their evening would be spent. Fortunately, it didn't take him long to show up, and Miranda turned to look at him when he arrived as if from nowhere to compliment her costume.
"Thank you," she replied with a small curtsy that was accompanied by a wry grin. "And you look very...knightly." Her expression remained one of amusement as she nudged him in the arm with her elbow, then dissolved into laughter at about the time he did.
"We shall go indeed," Miranda agreed, placing her arm on top of his. When the web almost fell on top of them as they passed through the final stretch of the eerie tunnel, she let out a muted yelp, stumbling backwards before halting when she realized what it was. An abashed smile slowly replaced her former expression of shock. "Whoops."
Continuing into the main room, Miranda couldn't help but gape at how changed the whole place was. In fact, if she hadn't been walking through the smoky corridor earlier, she could've sworn they'd stepped right into an exceedingly creepy version of the Forbidden Forest itself. Overhead, jack o lanterns and skulls jostled for space, and the flickered in the dim light afforded by the guttering candles. While Miranda had never been scared of the dark before, she found herself sidling a bit closer to Henry as she gazed around.
"The candles are pretty cool...but I think the trees are better. They look so real," she replied in an awed whisper, her gaze finally refocusing as the duo made their way to a table set out next to the Astronomy Professor.
"I think so..." Miranda began, taking a mummy bag. "And I'll take this one." There was no real reason behind her decision, but the mummy bag seemed like a nice enough one, much better than a spider or a jack o lantern. So she went with that.
The Ravenclaw turned to face Henry with a grin, the saw that he was peering at a strange-looking muggle contraption Miranda had no name for. However, when he mentioned the word movie, a conversation she'd had before was brought back to mind. Elias Kennedy, the Gryffindor student she'd helped in the library had mentioned such things before...however, the details were foggy. Something about...motion pictures?
But before she could answer any of her boyfriend's questions, he abruptly held out his hand and asked if they should get a seat. Again with that word, movie. What was it?
"Sure," Miranda replied, reaching over to slip her fingers inside his. "Where to?" There were lots of available seats to choose from, and she wasn't sure where would be best. Henry seemed to know a lot more about this movie business - it would be better if he chose, she reasoned.

"It's a batarang," Andrew corrected @Barret Baldwin in his serious Batman voice, pretending to sip his lemonade indifferently. "You can throw it, if you want." This was followed with a split second silence and blank stare, before Andrew dropped his façade, breaking a smile and a chuckle before the girl could even think of attempting his suggestion.
"Hehe, kidding," he resumed his normal voice and friendly tone. "I'm Batman," he pointed out, in case the girl didn't recognize his costume. "Andrew Vance," he divulged his real identityβ¦and that of his pet ret. "This is Penelope. Nice to meet you. Yeah, you can pet her," he assured [Barret]. "She won't bite. You can hold her too, if you like. Justβ¦careful not to drop her. I mean, she'll probably land fine, but I donβt want her to run around and get lost in here. Might lose her in the dark." Okay, he couldn't discredit Penelope for being responsive half the time to his calls and commands, but Penelope and her nose had a mind of its own too, mostly fixated on food. In a setting like this, she would be tempted to scavenge on anything within reach, if Andrew didn't keep an eye on her. The rat was already fat enough, as is. Andrew didn't want his pet to possibly overeat or sample something bad and get sickβ¦or put on any more weight than what was humanely allowed for him to let Penelope get away with as an owner.
Penelope would welcome the petting session, not shying away at all from a stranger's hand. She was an older rat and accustomed to children handling her in all sorts of gentle and rough ways. A scratch and stroke along her head and neck (her black sweater and cut-out bat wings interfering with being petted along the back of her body) would be a bonus massage while Penelope ate her treats simultaneously - having gobbled up her candy corn and had now moved onto a piece of popcorn ball.
Kudos to [Barret's] costume, it had won a wow factor of creepiness with Andrew. Those unnatural black and yellow (contact lenses) were especially spooky, which was a good thing! "Are you supposed to be aβ¦snake?" He guessed, studying the yellow coils of [Barret's] outfit. Dim lighting and all, it was a little difficult for Andrew to make out exactly what others were wearing.

Goblin' It Up
After her trip to the Muggle Studies and Flying classrooms, Piper decided that she had had enough walking around for one evening. And so she began to make her way toward the ballroom. Her feet were tired, and though she would never admit it, her eyelids were getting heavy. Determinedly eating a sweet piece of popcorn ball, Piper worked her way over to the ballroom. Her eyes widened at the sight of the hallway. It was darkened, with fake spiderwebs stretched across and smoke eerily floating around. Halloween with magic was officially awesome.
As Piper eagerly walked through, lifting her hood for the moment so as to see better, she was met by Professor Karr. After overthinking, Piper finally decided on the Jack-O-Lantern goody bag. Thanking Professor Karr, Piper looked around the huge ballroom. It was decorated to look like the Forbidden Forest surrounding Hogwarts. While it wasn't spooky, it was certainly fun-looking. Piper excitedly looked at all the food lining the wall, then at the movie projector. "Wow," she breathed. Where to begin? There were pillows and blankets, which she would have to be sure not to fall asleep in! This would need to be remedied with more sweets. Placing the goody bag in her bucket, Piper made her way to the candy table, which was turning out to be a popular location.
Why was there caution tape around the sweets table? Piper suspiciously looked up and down for tricks or pranks. As no students seemed to be falling victim, it should be safe, so Piper relaxed very slightly. The candy had made her thirsty, so she reached over for a glass of pumpkin juice. She then tentatively reached her hand into the skeleton (no prank there, either) and put some of the candy into her bucket. When she saw nothing happened, she grabbed a cupcake and walked over to the movie projector. Piper wondered what it was like for the purebloods to see a movie projector. She supposed she would be very intrigued with how it worked, but she had always been the odd one out, so who knew?
Setting down her things, Piper grabbed a large armful of pillows (possibly more than was allowed) and dumped them on the ground in front of the projector. After picking up the softest blanket she could find, Piper sat down, curled up in her things, and opened a bit of candy. Looking up, she noticed a creaking sound from above. It appeared to be emitting from...the chandelier? How? This added an especially scary element, as Piper particularly was fearful of heavy things falling on her. If the staff had allowed it, though, it must be acceptable.
Piper made many mental notes and began thinking of a draft of a letter to her mother. She'd definitely want to hear all about Piper's time. Maybe one of the student newspapers would also have some pictures Piper could send along. Somehow, Halloween alone was much more fun than anticipated (though Piper still wished her mother were here to enjoy Halloween with her); no following others' rules or having to make special arrangements...it had been a wonderful, sugar-filled night, and hopefully Piper could stay awake long enough to enjoy the movie and finish it. How embarrassing would it be to have to be woken up or worse, carried to bed? That would not ever happen ever. More reason to eat more sugar!

Logan smiled as she walked towards the ballroom. Her mood had been lifted greatly since she had started going throughout the school to get candy, and now she was even happier to be able to see part of a movie. Sherlock was still sitting on Logan's shoulders at this point, swatting at the spider webs as they walked passed them. The tapping of the Hufflepuff's shoes echoes slightly throughout the halls as she walked down the candlelit tunnel towards the ballroom.
The entrance of the ballroom was where Logan saw her first person for the night and she smiled at Professor Karr as she asked for a Mummy giftbag. Sherlock instantly attempted to reach over and shove his face into the bag, but the young Hufflepuff was able to pull the bag away quickly enough. "No," she scolded the cat as her growled and lay back on her shoulders again.
With a roll of her eyes, Logan walked into the large room and immediately made her way to the snacks and drinks. She needed something after having all of those sweets, so she picked a water and then grabbed a vanilla cupcake. "Where to Sherlock?" she questioned as the cat jumped off of her shoulders and ran over to an empty pillow and blanket, curling into a ball quickly.
The Hufflepuff followed after the cat and slowly sat down making sure to stay clear of the cat. "Here boy," she muttered as she broke off a small part of her cupcake and held it out to the cat. Quickly he ate the food and looked at the girl expecting more. "No more," she muttered as she quickly are her cupcake and ran her hand down the cat's back. She could hear the cat purring loudly as she smiled and looked around. She could see Henry in the corner talking to Miranda and shook her head. She wasn't going to go and bother them, so instead she sat continued to pet her cat, adjusting his hat every once in a while to make sure it wouldn't fall off. Slowly, Logan sipped on her water, observing the large ball room that had been used for the masquerade ball only a few weeks before.
Looking down, Logan sighed as she realized that Sherlock had taken off somewhere. Probably to go and see Henry as it had been a few days since the cat had seen the boy. With a sigh, Logan continued to sit by herself and watch a little bit of the film playing on the screen.

It was not the eerie decor which had upset Pericles so. He did not shy from traveling down the spooky tunnel, shuffling along with the throng of whispering skittish students, some suffering second thoughts about the entire affair. Upon emerging, he did not balk at the frightfully familiar forest scene. He had been abducted by an acromantula there, yes, and been bound in a way which prevented him from helping his peers. The impromptu trip to the Forbidden Forest, however, hadn't ruined him. On any other day, he would be enchanted by the morbid whimsy of it all. The skeleton's spread of candied innards would have attracted him instantly. Even the swaying chandelier tickled an old happy memory: attending a performance of Phantom of the Opera with his parents at Her Majesty's Theatre in London. Yet instead he was indifferent, distracted, seemingly searching the party with a purpose. There was something far more worrisome weighing on his mind, or more specifically, on his forehead.
Upon exiting the tunnel and passing Professor Karr, Peri deftly plucked a spider goodie bag from the batch with a mumbled "Thank you, Professor. I liked your orrery idea a great deal." The words were quick, leaving little room for reaction, as he was clearly a wizard on a mission. Nervousness was not his natural state. He could face down mosps, giant spiders, his own peers. But this word, this nasty little word, frightened him a great deal. External threats were nothing at all compared to this potential breach of morality. He spotted his target at long last and bee-lined.
"Miss Finley?" Pericles pulled the mask from his head and brought it to his chest, cradled by two hands as if by a grieving man. On the boy's brow was a bold black word: GREEDY. His chin was held high in an attempt at sustaining some shred of pride, though the quiver of his lower lip did a disservice to this endeavor, as did the pained gleam in his odd eyes. A terrible blow had been struck to the young heir's dignity. His very honor was at stake. It was a horrible predicament for any pureblood to be in. Trying to salvage his credibility, he drew a deep breath, finally finding his voice proper. "I am truly, terribly sorry. I tried to take a second quill. I didn't mean t'be greedy, it was meant for a friend, but I've realized that was selfish and foolish of me, because it's perfectly possible my friends have already taken treats from your library, which I ought to've considered. It was grossly irresponsible and I hope you'll forgive me." Peri was plainly belching the garbled thoughts which had heckled him all the way here. Obviously, he was a bad lad and this was the end of his career.
