Fall Games Quidditch: Gryffindor v Slytherin

Koko had nearly forgotten the feeling of being the Keeper Slytherin needed, but she was glad to have pride running through her once again.

She blocked Alan's attempts at a goal easily, not allowing for a smirk to cross her lips (although, really, she felt quite smug). Instead, she cheered for Alexx. "THAT'S our Chaser!!! You GO, Severin!!!"

Koko snickered when Erin dodged Anastasia and Rafael's blatching attempts. Honestly, Gryffindor's Captain was such a buzzkill, always trying to get rid of people on Slytherin's team. And he couldn't even wait on the Beaters to do it themselves! It always irked Koko, but at least she could act pleased that her teammates were doing fine.

Koko shifted on her broom, keeping her eyes out for any time a Quaffle might come rushing at her. She was ready for anything the cheating evils of Gryffindor might throw at her. She supposed, too, that she was ready to help her team, but that would honestly depend on if she was needed. Her goals were her first priority, and she was doing a wonderful job (in her thirteen-year-old mind) of keeping them guarded.

Once again, Koko thought of her Quidditch gear as armour, and she thought of herself as a knight. She was protecting the Slytherin team from being defeated once again - and she was certain they would win.

Remi's face looked slightly pale from seeing some of the first-string people getting 'sniped' out of the air by a blunger.
"Oh-"
As Remi squinted as Remi saw the sea of green cheering as a thought stick in the boy's head, making his stomach turn violently.

If the keeper were to get knocked off their broom and get out of the game, they'll have to shove in Remi for the second-string Keeper.

Crossing his fingers, breathing a bit faster than normal as he hoped to Merlin that that didn't occur. He was far quieter but he was a lion, apart of the pride, they'll find a way to win from the Snake threat... Right?

Though irritated that he couldn't find the snitch immediately and crush Gryffindor's hope of winning right off the bat, Dan was nonetheless happy at how things had gone so far. They'd suffered damage, but still had all their crew members, and Gryffindor was down a star beater. In addition, Rafael, the Lord of Failed Blatches, added another notch to his belt, now sitting at 4 failures in a row.

So many had aimed for Erin, and all failed. She had clearly been practicing. She acted like she didn't care, but that was an awful lot of improvement for not caring.

When Erin approached again, and asked who was next, he smiled adorably.

"Great Job, Erin! Those dodges were AWESOME! And that hit! WOOO!"

Then, He smirked, and discreetly pointed.

"As fer who's next. That one. Paint a bludger with their face."

Charlie watched the game unfold, his usual excitement kicking in despite being grounded and quite frankly benched.
Every whisk and whip forced an exhale out of him, and he he held his breath as scores began to count.

First points to Slytherin.

"Damn-" He cursed under his breath, already at the edge of his seat wanting to see more unfold in the skies. "Come on... guys..."

J[/b]ust when Griseldis thought that she could finally show off her skills as a Beater, but too bad that luck wasn't entirely on her side today. Right after she successfully hit a Bludger at one of the Slytherin's Beaters, she heard Kyle shouted the nickname he often used for her and tried to warn her of the incoming danger behind her. But it was too late...

Feeling the sudden chill coming in her direction, Griseldis only could turn to the side for a mere second and her eyes widen in shock to see it the elder Slytherin with the face she would never forget and the coldness she was very familiar with from the last snuggle they once shared at the Hospital Wing. A powerful sharp pain at her head immediately took away all her strength and caused her to fell off from her Silver Arrow. The only thing she could remember was the darkness that shallow her whole.

So, being reduced to saving-duty wasn’t particularly ideal. Then again, neither was Persephone’s position as a mere chaser at all. There were livelier skies to delve in and more glorious performances to demonstrate, but there were battles to fight before climbing to the peak of that mountain. This was something the young blonde recognized soaring through the air in a way much less slick than her team. A chain was only as strong as its weakest link, so the key was to hold on with her life. Or, alternatively, pray to everything and nothing that whatever broke in the end would not be her.

And it wasn’t. Perhaps she’d underestimated the importance of a savior, belittled the gallant aspect of their task. Not that Persy particularly cared for the player that ended up by her side, one Cassandra with a bat painted in envy and rainwater, but it was a necessary defeat. With drenched hair and clothing creating more weight than the burden already upon her shoulders, the girl would hope this sacrifice would not go unnoticed later amidst the anticipated celebration of victory. That recognition may come after that of whoever had put numbers by their name, however, though Persy wouldn’t complain. In fact, she’d cheer herself.

With a quick questioning glance to the captain, Persephone would fly on with her new baggage, determined to fulfill whatever was requested of her and keep the snakes on top.

All those niceties were... relieving because at least the fourth year knew that he could have faith in his team mates. He gave a nod to Evelynn and after taking in a deep breath managed to give her a calm smile before shifting his gaze to the captain, his friend Rafael. He could not help but flinch as he made impact with his shoulder but he managed to keep his smile up before taking off into the air and once he was up there he couldn't think of his fear anymore. One might call it autopilot but an excited gleam would show in his eyes as he shot into the air as adrenaline began to pump through his veins. His Quidditch gear would protect him and the water repelling goggles did their job more or less. It was still difficult to see through the heavy downfall but at least the drops of rain would not completely obscure his vision.

Alone in the first few minutes of the game the fourth year had gotten his hands onto the quaffle twice even though he was up against two of the opposing chasers, however he failed when it came to actually score them. It seemed close enough but his aim was a little off due to the rain but perhaps he would have better luck next time. He shook his head, he clearly would do this better next time and there were no questions. He had to be a part of this team and help in its pursue for victory. Sadly enough both Ana and Rafael would have to do penalty laps which made the Gryffindor bite his teeth together as determination took over. With two exceptional players less for the next minutes they just had to go above their best, strive for perfection. Not just that but they were also one person down as Gris fell and she would continue to fall which was a momentary shock for the boy as he could only watch on what was his biggest fear in this game happen to another. "Gris!" he yelled towards the unconscious form as he tried to snap her out of it. But after his attempt to rush after Alexx in an attempt to score a goal for Gryffindor, he was all but too far away from the falling lioness and for but a moment he was frozen in shock as his frozen fingers curled around the broomstick, his muscles locking around almost as if it was him who had just been endangered of plummeting towards the ground. The harsh weather and temperatures of the nearing winter apparent as he shut his eyes close trying to shake off those tremors of fear and freezing cold. Get over it, quick. He would repeat it within his head over and over like a mantra, until his eyes snapped open as his gaze would shift over the pitch.

Slytherin was not to be underestimated. Despite their questionable record the previous year, having won only one game, they were doing amazingly from the moment the whistle was blown. Within a moment, the players were off in a display of crimson and emerald, mere blurs against the stormy grey clouds above. Thora turned her gaze skyward, squinting them tightly in a desperate attempt to filter the raindrops falling only faster than before. Moisture was streaming down her eyelashes, nose, cheeks, and then dripping off her chin, but she couldn't bring herself to care—unless she was blinded by rain, nothing was stopping her from watching.

After all, Quidditch felt like her game now. Last season, she'd signed up for the team with flying class her only prior experience and hadn't exactly known what she was getting herself into. It had felt rather impersonal, especially since she had simply been benched all three games, and though she'd thoroughly enjoyed every thrilling minute of the season, the past summer had seen her briefly torn between Quidditch and duelling. Obviously, she'd finally decided on Quidditch, and though she was still in her usual spot on the bench, there was something different about this new season—she felt more in touch and excited, rather than nervous, with a year of experience now under her belt.

Although a Gryffindor chaser managed to skillfully take up the Quaffle not just once, but twice, Koko blocked both goals easily, a beginning to the match that left a hopeful smile on Thora's face. Alexx scored a goal for Slytherin promptly afterwards and the girl couldn't help but let out a cheer, though no doubt it was lost in the roaring wind. And of course, the blatches were not to be forgotten about—the move, almost signature for both teams based on their previous face-off, was quickly pulled by two Gryffindor chasers, one of them the captain. Although it technically was a foul, Thora had grown rather used to seeing it on the pitch—it probably came as no surprise to any seasoned player, really. Still, she frowned as the blatching duo aimed for Erin, the relief she felt as the fourth year dodged immediately marred as Gris fell to the ground, hit hard by a bludger.

Though they did take a couple hits, Slytherin was doing quite brilliantly, up by a single goal already. Now, all they had to do was maintain their lead—and, of course, try to catch the snitch.

There was no time to observe or think rationally as the game started and adrenaline started to run through her blood, firing her up. She didn't bother glancing at Beckett to check if she was failing epically. Instead, Scarlett focused on what she was trying to do - bludger Cash. Why was she doing this to one of her friends? Because strategy told her to. Anyway, Cash was on the same level as her, perhaps stronger. There was no hope for going for someone like, say, Erin. Scarlett swung her bat and with the force of another Beater - a pretty third-year Asian - and Cash went down.

"Sorry not sor- gah!" cried Scarlett, as Erin managed to bludger her fellow Beater, who promptly fell off her broom. No one saved her, unlike the Slytherin team. A blonde managed to catch Cash as she fell. It seemed the Gryffindor efforts had been in vain, at least on the bludgering side.
