Another step backwards meant that they were continuing to win, but this game was still not over. Wasn't this supposed to be more fun? With such a simple objective, Marcus knew that it would not be long before the professor side was victorious. Nora's voice reached his ears, talking of bowing out. So he wasn't the only one not having fun? He looked in her direction, but it seemed that Browne said something that reinvigorated her. And the strong student from before (Ami) offered to paint nails and do her hair. Would that motivate Nora? Marcus' amber eyes landed on Professor Galim and her bright red cloak next. For a moment he thought she had lost her motivation as well because she released the rope, but she was just rubbing her hands together before grabbing it again and giving it a tug. At least she wasn't giving in!

A girl with pink hair who had joined the professor side now released her hold on the rope and went to the student side. Marcus found some humor in that and smirked a little. Yes, the children would need all the help they could get. The fact of the matter was that even though they were putting up a good fight, it seemed that the professor side of the rope was just too good for them.

Feeling himself be lurched forward yet again, Søren wondered if there would be any hope for the student team. He did not anticipate tiring out so soon. His attempts thus far had been quite strong and while they clearly lost the previous rounds, he knew it wasn’t because of him. Exerting so much force early on probably caused him to become weak as the students continued trying to save their game. It could have been his lackluster timing, or it just could have been that he had less endurance than he thought, but it was obvious that his pull had less mettle now. Using the moment to breathe as the professors secured more ground, Søren noticed two students fall over. They quickly rose and jumped right back into the frey, but neither seemed to be packing much in the strength department. He wasn’t sure they would be of much help in this losing battle.

Before Søren could declare all hope lost in his mind, a flash of pink caught his sight as Willow joined in on the students’ team. Part of him was relieved. She didn’t look strong either, but the more, the merrier, he guessed. On the other hand, it was quite embarrassing to need people to drop out of the professors’ team for the students to even have a chance at winning. Waving off the feeling, the boy continued pressing.

Willow wondered if it was even worth coming to the student side, the professors were ridiculously strong and more and more students were dropping like flies. Either having given up pulling or just walked away from the Tug of War all together. Despite this, Willow kept yelling. "One, two, three. Pull!" The students needed to work as a collective force if they wanted to even win one round. On one pull, Professor Galim fell off the rope. The next pull, they took our Papa Badger as well. "They're weak, let's go!" Callie seemed to slip off on one of the pulls, seeing her fall to the ground. They still had people. They could still do this.

She could feel the weight shifting, pulling towards them away from the professors. "Next one is a big pull, pull with everything you've got!" She could feel the rope she had wrapped around her hand tightening and it hurt a bit. But she wouldn't let go now. "Ready? One, two, three. PULLLLLL!" She let out a mighty yell from her small body, and it worked! They had gained a little bit of what they had lost back. Maybe they couldn't win, but they would put up a fight trying. There was some phrase about something being mightier than something when together, but she couldn't remember it right now. And she didn't particularly care to.

Maybe Søren was wrong. Despite some kids looking like they had nothing more than bones on their body, the fact that they had such a large number worked out well for the students’ team this round. Some of his teammates seemed to be doing nothing, standing still or pulling weakly. Had he been more of a leader, he would try to convince the team to keep trying. Those who were trying were doing well, but their win was likely because of luck. The Hufflepuff HoH fell off his rope in similar fashion to those in the round prior. He was definitely a heavy hitter for the professors’ team, so to have him off the rope helped the students’ cause greatly. The Ravenclaw HoH continued to heave for his team, but without Caradoc as his backup, the professors’ team, thankfully, lost some ground.

Without much time to celebrate, Søren continued pulling. The short time he took last round to breathe helped him, evidently, as he contributed to the team’s strength. One such person, a familiar blond one, did not contribute this round and instead found herself off the rope like Caradoc. “Are you good?” he asked his fellow apple bobber, offering her a hand as best he could with his focus still on the rope.

Henry felt himself pulling which was taking a lot out of the boy with barely any muscles as his feet was digging into the ground and sweat forming on his forehead, he found them moving back a bit and almost slip but luckily used the rope to catch himself as he looked up and saw many of the professors fell off the rope and couldn't help shouting to them " was that all you can handle, your backs gave out I see!" before directing his insults toward the nurse who Henry was disliking more and more as he shouted to the man " jealous? Why would anyone be jealous of you and your rat nest nestled on your upper lip!" Henry shot him a sly smile as he took a breath before whispering so only Nick and probably Cash could hear him " I'll go for mustache if you go for the fat one Nick," Henry then heard the games keeper shout something at him which made Henry go white as if he was about to faint.

Henry felt his anxiety coming to the surface now as he thought that the professors knew of Nick's and his plan now, what if instead of detention it's expulsion, Henry tried to push it from his mind as he addressed Callie " it's call friendly banter and if you clearly can't identify banter than maybe your the stupid one here," Henry then shouted over to the divination professor with a hint of sarcasm " right professor it's only friendly banter plus everyone knows that your class is based on falsehoods and lies," Henry chucked a bit before whispering back to Nick and Cash so only they could hear " maybe we will win now since the professors are dropping."

Henry gave a quick smile as he continued pulling before whispering so only Nick and probably Cash could hear him " there's no way I'll jinx professor Browne or Iwasaki, ones to nice and the other uh seems like the type who will give horrible detentions," actually Henry for some odd reason sort of looked up to those two professors which was odd since one was probably the nicest and the other was probably the scariest, " we'll avoid the divination professor and our head also," Henry whispered to Nick as he struggled to pull the rope again. Still Henry couldn't think what the grounds keeper said out of his mind as he whispered to Nick again " So I'll go for mustache and you'll get the fat one? Sound good Nick?"

Henry on the other hand didn't feel good as he felt his anxiety rising which would make him worry and panic probably causing a panic attack as well, Henry tried to hide it from the others as he pulled but what he couldn't hide was his pale face which was odd.

Henry's constant taunting and to a certain extent bullying of the professors was starting to get on Callie's nerves. So much so that she foolishly slipped from the rope and landed directly into the muddy ground below. While the girl wasn't angry at the presence of the mud itself as it was something she had grown accostomed to Henry being Henry had certainly done enough to spark her temper. Callie's temper wasn't something that surfaced frequently but when it did it wasn't a pretty sight. Thankfully Søren asking if she was alright allowed Callie a distraction from the human equivelent of a dirty sock that was Henry Knight and helped calm her temper a little. "Me? I'm great!" Callie gave the boy a thumbs up from the ground despite the fact her face and clothing was now covered in mud. "Don't worry about me, keep pulling!" Shortly afterwards Callie pulled herself up from the ground and continued heaving with what little strength she could afford. Sadly it didn't take long for Henry to fustrate Callie again, especially when he claimed his taunts were nothing more than 'friendly banter'. For Callie they were anything but friendly as she found them much too malicious to be in jest. Calling someone's moustache a rats nest, claiming someones class was based on falsehoods and jabbing at someone's weight was much too nasty to even be faintly friendly.

"Friendly? You call that FRIENDLY?" Callie's voice seemed to slowly be raising in volume, a rare occurence for someone like Callie who rarely ever showcased her temper. "Get your damn head looked at Henry, if you think that's friendly or even mildy funny you've got issues! I'm yet to see anyone laughing at your stupid taunts! Nasty little-" Thankfully Nora was still around, otherwise Callie may have said or done something that would've certainly gotten her into trouble. Instead Callie continued to pull at the rope while trying to calm her temper.

They were still going strong. Keeping one step ahead of the students at all times, it did make sense considering the size differences of the members on the different teams. Now the student team had one more participant though, perhaps this change could be their downfall? The rope was pulled, River hauled with all her might, and she noticed two of the professors had lost their grip and were now off the game. She didn’t understand how people managed to fall off from holding the rope, tug of war wasn’t that difficult…
The ravenclaw grit her teeth as the students seemed to have mustered some grand power and strength from somewhere. The rope moved the opposite way from what it had been doing till now. That was one point for them, but River doubted they’d be able to regain any victory in the limited amount of time they had left. She hoped the force of those left on her team would be enough to pull them to a win, though she guessed a win for the students would be a grand boost in self-confidence. Imagine winning a game of strength against a team of adults. That is some achievement.
River took a deep breath as she readied for the next pull, her knuckles had turned white long ago, but she couldn’t bother with that. She kept her focus on the game for now, and then discomforts could come later.

The Keeper of Keys and Grounds made a comment that made Nick's face that was starting to flush red from pulling to go completely white. He was mostly targeting it at Henry, but it was still both of their plan. He turned towards Henry who also looked paler, but couldn't decipher if it was from the straint of pulling, or anxiety from the comment. Either way, maybe it was time to tone down the insults to keep the plan on the down low.

That new plan to keep it on the down low was interrupted by very loud voice slightly ahead of them. It belonged to a blonde girl who was clearly very upset with their comments. Nick knew that they had made plenty of enemies during this war, so why not make one of their own side? He noticed when a couple of the professor's had fallen that she had as well so he could capitalize on that. "Well at least he can keep his feet on the ground, get back tae me when ye don' act like yer standin' on a slip n' slide." Nick said to instigate the girl more.

After that insult was hurled, Henry brought Nick back to their secret mischievous plan. He was totally fine hurling some magic at the Keeper, but his wand hadn't been that reliable today so he was worried he would ruin the plan. They had gained a square again though, so maybe they didn't have to go down fighting if they ended up going down. "Well, I don' really want a detention if we win, so let's wait tae see who gains another square." Nick whispered back to Henry.

Rosalind idled for just one round to let the students feel they had a chance. It would be fairer that way. And it would allow her a chance to build them up before knocking them down. With her task complete, she tightened her grip once more, wrenching the rope back with a jerk of her arms. Her muscles were visible as she leaned back and pulled, gritting her teeth and letting out a grunt with the effort. Time to destroy these students. "I'll banter you into that lake," she warned. "And that's not a prediction, it's a promise." A good-natured smile accompanied her threat to toss the boy into the lake. She was happy he was a Slytherin. Her house was always her favorite.

To her dismay, however, the boy looked as pale as a ghost, despite lobbing rude comments across the front line as he went. Maybe he was still working on his social muscles - the pressure of even a fake confrontation can be too much for the frailer students in the lower years. Little Callie jumped in to scold him, calling him a nasty little something - Rosalind wasn't sure if the student had stopped speaking or if she'd just lost her voice in the sounds of the competition. "You're turning your allies against you!" she called out to @Henry Knight, snickering. "Divide and conquer, my fellow centenarians!"

It seemed the professors had lacked in strength during the next round. Maya figured it was perhaps she was not trying as hard and from the looks of Nora, she was not trying as hard either. Maya thought that the professors were able to handle it without her strength, but it seemed unlikely. Maya wrapped the ends of the rope around her wrist and kept pulling, hoping that this would work in having another win.

Hearing the banter between students and professors was fun to hear. The best was with a Slytherin student and Kibitzer. Out of all the professor, Kibitzer was by far the most competitive. She had wit with every statement that was given to her. Maya could not help but to laugh at her latest statement to the student about the lake.

It seemed that a Ravenclaw girl was outing the Slytherin boy and his use of words towards the professor. Claiming that they were not friendly words. The boy was smart-- this was the only time he could ever speak to his professors in this way. If it were in the halls or during class, all of his taunting would be inappropriate. He was letting them out now when he still could.

"Let's just finish this," Maya said for the Professors to hear. She wasn't getting tired, but she was getting a bit bored of pulling a rope and hearing banter. She needed more stimulus and this just was not enough.
