Fall Games
Looking up at the gloomy grey sky above her, feeling the cold raindrops hitting on the skin. Before the first game beginning of this year, there were a lot of changes within the Gryffindor team. The captain and the co-captain were still on the team but some other players left ever since the dual club officially opened. Well, it didn't bother Griseldis that much because it was their own choice after all. She had been practicing as a Beater for months now and with a new Partner, she hoped they could work well together. Not to mention, Kyle came back to the team which should be a good sign as well. There were a few new faces so hopefully with a mix of new and old, they could show something different in this game. With this hopeful thought on Griseldis's mind, getting herself ready on the Silver Arrow and flew up in the air with a confident smile on her face.

First Game. And he was benched.
He was a bit peeved. He wasn't going to lie. He wasnt exactly partial to being benched. As petty as it was; the fact that he was on second-string now was hardly anything to celebrate. Although, sustaining what he had, this was to be expected.
He wanted to be up there, up in the skies with the rest of his team. But he wasn't, and he was extremely quiet as he entered, sat, broom next to him and his 65 still secured on his uniform. At least he hadn't lost that. That was something. He could've not been down at the pitch at all, not been playing or in his beloved uniform one bit. He had to at least be thankful he could still support the team.

INTERACTING WITH: @Alan Vanes, @Piérre Marchonné
MENTIONING: @Rafael D'Spacito, @Persephone Barret
Rain. Why did it have to be rain. Of all the autumn weathers that it could have been, this was honestly probably the most likely, but that didn't make it any better. Although, perhaps this was for the best in a way. As Evelynn made her way onto the pitch, hair up in a clean french braid and her new Silver Arrow firmly in hand, she was so miserable with the weather that she forgot to be nervous. The nerves that had been coiling about her belly like the writhing snakes against which they were about to face were sent running to their dark and dry little dens away from the torrential onslaught.
If only the same could be said about the Slytherin players themselves. Unfortunately, they'd have to clash on the pitch. Although she'd had a small taste of what it might be like to face against Hufflepuff in the practice game last spring, Slytherin remained to be the only team that Evelynn had faced in any official capacity. In that game, she'd still been a second string player, forced to watch from the bench as Fillestar tried desperately to catch the snitch. Then, when it had come to her turn to take his place after witnessing his plummet to the relentless earth, she had tried—and failed—to do what he could not. They'd still somehow managed to pull out a victory within the allotted time, but it had been a close call.
Even as she stood there, at the edge of the locker room and letting the seconds string out into procrastinating the inevitable step into the hateful downpour, images from that last match flashed before her eyes. Clearer than most was that of Severin seeking to knock her from her broom. She'd narrowly avoided that. Had even ended the Chief's blatching streak with a lucky maneuvering out of the way. She wasn't likely to be so lucky this time, though. This time, where she was now the first string. First string seeker. Designated punching bag. It hadn't really occurred to her at the time nearly a year ago when she'd first signed up for the team what, exactly, it would mean to seek this position. Hers were the keen eyes for spotting details and hard-to-find items. That's why she had signed up for it.
With a sigh and slight hunch of her shoulders as though that would somehow protect her against the rain, she stepped forward. Her misery increased the moment she had, cold spittle immediately sprinkling the top of her plait and soaking through to scald with promise of more and colder to come the moment she mounted. What an unfortunate way to start the season…
"Hm?" The sound of her own name had drifted out from her rear causing her to pause mid stride to turn to its source. "Hello, Vanes," she offered, attempting to inject as much warmth into the greeting as she was able. His concern was immediately apparent to her, and she was struck with the irony of the situation. Once before, she had sought affirmation and reassurance from him. Now, it was the other way around. When he had finished, she offered a small, but reassuring smile, "I don't think—"
Then, as though on cue from a director with a poor sense of comedic humor, a small figure in red came flying from stage left, tripped, and skid across the mud. Evelynn could do little other than watch, brows lofted as Piérre collected himself and stood. And then she had about half a second's realization with two hasty and futile steps of retreat before the figure of filth and grass flung his arms around her. To her credit—or perhaps only because her arms were pinned and one hand occupied with holding her Silver—she somehow managed to stop herself from throwing him off. Nonetheless, she could practically feel the transfer of mud and grass to what had been her own pristine uniform.
"I aim to make this a quick game.." she replied stiffly in response to the boy's over exuberance, lips thin and the corner of one eye twitching. That much was true, at least. The sooner she caught the snitch, the sooner she'd be able to get out of the rain, out of the uniform that already clung to her, shower, warm up, and reset her mindset. Still, she had no intention of starting this match out without at least a shred of dignity. Bending, she slipped her wand from its hidden sheath on the interior lining of her boot, pointed it at herself, and muttered, "Scourgify."
"As I was saying…" she continued when Pierre had plied himself off, she had returned her wand to its holding place, and she was able to turn back to Vanes again. "I don't think we're ever really ready. I'm not sure what D'Spacito told you, but no, you're not just a benched player." She jutted her chin up towards where other players were already making their way. "You're first string, though, and you're going to be starting with us. You'll be alright, though. If you have to, just focus on the Quaffle. Get the quaffle, take it to the Slytherin end, throw it through a hoop. Simple. They're not likely to pay you much mind. The worst you'll likely have to contend with is their chasers. Don't think too hard."
From there came the following words of Pierre, and then D'Spacito. To her, they were mostly drowned out by the rain, however, drifting and melding into each other as she excused herself to continue along her trek towards center. Even still, as she mounted her broom, she was able to make out the snippy remark of their captain as he reassured Alan about not needing to worry about bludgers. Our seeker, on the other hand… Yes. Lovely. Thank you, Captain. She was already painfully aware that they would be gunning for her; his comment only served to twist that knife of worry. Knock some heads. What were they, the Falmouth Falcons? She hesitated for a moment, shooting him a contained, half-lidded glare, more than a little tempted to hex him right on the spot. She'd never get away with it, though, with so many eyes upon her. Perhaps a little gift for after the game, then..
With a sharp exhale through her nose, she peeled her gaze back and mounted, kicking off without another word. She'd leave the encouraging shouts to him. And DeRook, as it seemed. She needed her head in the game if she wanted any chance of not disappointing her team or giving their idiot Captain any more fuel for his irrational prejudice. If she was going to have her gold '23' remembered with reverence as she so strove, she would need to focus.
As she kicked off and joined the circle of players waiting for the start, the familiar weightless feeling seemed to lift the burden of pouring rain and heavy expectation from her shoulders, and she was almost successful in this effort to cool her head and get into the right mode. Almost. In a cursory pass over the opposing team, she caught sight of possibly the only individual who could have spoiled her euphoria of flight. There, across amidst the Slytherin team, sat Persephone Barret. Evelynn's heart plummeted for a good moment before a quick dip of the eyes at least confirmed that the girl wasn't wielding a bat. That was.. something, at least. Still, how this particular addition to their roster had gone unnoticed, she wasn't sure. And she certainly didn't relish the idea of having that creature anywhere near her on the pitch. A reflexive glance towards D'Spacito actually brought with it an unexpected flutter of reassurance. Perhaps the antics of the Blatch King wouldn't be such a revolting notion for once…

Fall Games
Whatever effect the poor weather may have had on the players and the crowd watching them didn't seem to take hold of the man in the announcers stand. He stood up straight, golden goggles worn over his eyes to keep the rain out and brown coat buttoned up for warmth. With a large grin, the professor of flight brought the tip of the wand gripped in his right hand to the bottom of his jawbone and spoke an incantation: "Sonorus." The next words to come out of his lips were loud, amplified enough by the spell to be heard throughout the stadium: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Witches and Wizards, Students, Professors, and Honorable Guests, welcome to the first game of the 2020 Hogwarts Quidditch Cup! I can guarantee an absolutely heartstopping game today, played by two extraordinary teams: Gryffindor, Captained by Rafael D'Spacito, and Slytherin by Dan Palmer. Only one team can win today folks, and I know you're all excited to see who, so without further ado let the game begin!" At that the 4 balls were released and the players were off.
Though the game had just begun, Alan Vanes was determined to get his team in the lead quickly. Twice he had managed to snatch the quaffle away from the others going after it. The first time was a close call- Alexx Severin seemed to be about to get her hands on it, but something must have distracted her. It was very likely that an odd feeling got the best of the girl, one that unsettled her greatly. During the second attempt, the same thing happened- something threw the chaser off of her game, allowing Alan vanes to swoop in. During the third attempt though she managed to either ignore it or push through it (or maybe it just wasn't there?), managing to grab onto the quaffle before anyone else.
However determined Alan was to score, it wasn't enough. Koko Riddle was in his way and there was no way she was going to let a quaffle get past her so early into the game. On the other side of the field, Alexx was a bit luckier. The keeper that she expected to see, Pierre, was nowhere in sight! Throwing the quaffle through one of the hoops was likely no challenge for her.
Gryffindor was out for blood! Beater blood, that is. They didn't care if they had to cheat to do it either. While both of the team's beaters aimed for Cassandra, successfully knocking her off of her broom, their more questionable goal was a failure. Both Rafael and Anastasia attempt to blatch Erin, but the odd girl is too quick for them, dodging and weaving with relative ease. Or difficulty. One of the two. Either way, they miss, and both are ordered to take a penalty lap by an EXTREMELY annoyed announcer and flying professor. Slytherin takes a less controversial approach, avoiding any cheats and only using their bludgering skills. Though Cassandra fails to hit her target (Pierre), Erin manages to knock Griseldis straight off of her broom. Even better for Slytherin, while she falls to the ground, Persephone manages to save Cassandra.
Fortunately for both teams and unfortunately for the crowd, the seekers remain undisturbed. Not only that, but neither actually seem to have a clue where the snitch is. It was still early in the game, however, so who knew what would happen?

Fall Games
They went for her first, cheating right out the gate. Some Calvin Klein model, their team captain actually @Rafael D'Spacito and some chick that she really did not know. They were thankfully all looks as she evaded their attempt to crash into her and knock her off of her broom. She would simply let herself and her broom fall without warning, the fearless part veela did not fear the ground, in fact she welcomed it. The sudden darkness, that sudden lack of anything, including awareness was her only respite from the gnawing notions that filled her head. Still, she had a sense of self-preservation and she shouted at them, "not today pretty boy!"
Their transgression would not go unnoticed. A lap around the pitch would give her precious seconds before they tried again. Her target was neither of them, although she sorely wished one brutal turn would yield another. The bludger was zipping through the green and it would meet her bat with a thunderous CRACK! The bludger was directed to the Prefect @Griseldis Edelhardt as directed by her captain. She knew her role, it was to destroy with her might not to save and not to protect. The pitch would be covered in a tide of RED. No apologies. No hesitation. She held no attachments towards the girl, although there was a brief time that she yearned for her. Not in the way a man yearns for a woman, but more a lizard a rock in the sun. A cozy comfort, manifest in both heat and person. Sentiment had been severed, Griseldis was nothing but a sunny stone.
The bludger would hit the ginger hard. She did not regret the brutality, while others might have seen it as excessive. In truth the girl was durable, it was just enough. She would loose her grip and she would fall. Nobody would save her, they were too concerned with their star Seeker than their Beater.
She would look towards @Dan Palmer for a sign. Who to target next. She was capable of taking almost any one of them out in a single shot. Something both Dan and the Gryffindor Team more than likely knew. She had a few options here, the most obvious was to target yet another one of their beaters. To destroy their offensive capacity by targeting either @Scarlett Aden or @Kyle DeRook, then they would have to risk a penalty lap to take out their ranks. It would be an ineffective means of taking them on. They would have to actually try to win on the merit of their efforts in a sporting display of luck, skill and brawn. "Which one do I hit?"
Neither were an acute risk to Erin. She had spent her summer months in training. Hours of running. Weeks of fleeing imaginary, although in her mind they were always real, assailants. She had gotten faster and stronger. Faster and stronger than any of them.
She would brush a soaking wet strand of hair out of her face and call to Kyle, "I am not going to go easy on you!"

Kyle was bouncing his right leg anxiously as he watched the game begin to unfold. His eyes locked on the bludgers once they were let loose and began to whiz around. He was ripped away from his focus on them as he noticed his fellow lions in their attempts to blatch and he couldn't help but wince at that. He was alot of things, but he didn't condone cheating in Quidditch. There was honor in the game, atleast to him.
He shook it off and his eyes moved to the bludger whizzing towards @Erin Ryan, and he could see her pulling back her bat to get ready for an attack. His eyes moved across to see who the unlucky sap in her sights was and as soon as he heard the crack of the bat he stood up to call out "Cakes look out!" but it was no use. Gris was knocked hard off her broom and she fell to the grass below.
With her gone, that meant his time warming the bench was up and he was to take to the sky. He let out one last deep breath before he stood up and look towards the sky. He pushed his long, soaking hair from his face and a hard look of determination took over his visage. He grabbed his broom and bat and took to the Sky, determined to protect his team and case some damage while doing it.
As he got higher in the air he locked his eyes on Erin, Fellow beater and clear threat from how she laid out Gris. he couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle at her words. "Let's See what you got Starling!" he yelled back, almost issuing her a challenge

Dammit! Rafael couldn’t help but think, his foot having only narrowly missing its target as the referee’s whistle sounded to commemorate his utter failure. The blatches had bloody missed. In the midst of the ongoing game, the young Captain could do nothing to suppress the anger that soon leaked all over his handsome features – his cheeks red and eyes narrowed, he would waste not a moment in glancing over at the cause of his misfortune. “Not today, pretty boy!” she’d yelled in his direction, that Erin Ryan. His face only reddened further at the remark, this time the shade having nothing to do with his anger. Damned wrong she was, the hot beater chick would get hers. “Watch your ass, blondie!” he would counter back sourly, before shooting her a wide, charming grin, tacking a wink at the end as he turned his broom towards the lap he was to take. If it would get her skin to crawl, he would try it – he hated beaters.
Best make this lap quick, then, he reasoned to himself, leaning forward as to force his broom to move faster through the air. It would only be a matter of time before disaster struck again.

Interception | When a Quaffle is being passed, users with this ability automatically get a chance to Intercept the quaffle. This does not replace their normal action for the round. This puts the quaffle in your and by extension your teams' possession.
Also, if the Quaffle is dropped for any reason, you would automatically (without it taking up an action) attempt another Quafflegrab. At present there would be no mid-round way to drop a quaffle due to the order of operations, however there will be certain effects in future patches that can cause this effect.

Flying up into the sky, her iceblue hues kept a close eye on the Quaffle. The dhampir couldn't remember when she had ever caught it. Not that she minded it much. She had a very strong Chaser colleague. The years they had been flying together had flown by (hah..). Alexx was good at what she did, making the redhead a suitable plan B.
Being ever so close, Nico could notice how Alexx' fingers let go of the Quaffle for a moment, briefly letting it fall into the hands of Alan Vanes. Her cold eyes watched his back intently, on purpose or not. The dhampir was aware that their rivaling team wasn't to be underestimated.
Cold like the colour of her eyes, she'd sent chills down the spine of the ones who were most of concern. Not that she had any control on who her strange aura would have an effect. One would just have to fight through it and be brave.
She'd fly passed Alan, her hood flapping in the wind before turning back to watch Alexx gracefully score. Where had there Keeper gone to? With a smile, wet by the rain Nico would call out to her Chaser colleague, loud enough over the cheers of the benched ones and crowd. 'Nice shot.'
With a gracefull turn, Nico'd show off the big '0' on her back. A number that wasn't really a number. It mirrored how she felt about herself, but also what she hoped to overcome. To become more than just an nobody. To no longer be invisible. But not now... Her aura would be lucky and unlucky to the right people...Doing as strategized.ReducioStats and Abilities

Lovely Creature
Effect: You are very distracting to look at. This increases the Control DC of spells in duels and adventures by +2 as well as the DC for finding things in adventures or the DC for finding the snitch in a game of Quidditch. This ability does not stack.
Unsetteling Aura
A Dhampir's Unsettling Aura becomes noticeable. This is created by their presence. It is that uncanny feeling one gets where the small hairs on the back of their neck stand on end and the flesh on their arms turn to gooseflesh. It is as if the room itself was turned down by several degrees and one's heart was filled with a foreboding sense.
Effect: This represented as a 10% auto-fail rate for anyone besides the Dhampir (or other Dhampirs) to perform an action or cast a spell. Unfortunately, this prevents a dhampir from being hidden (entering stealth) when in use. As such any attempts to be hidden in a topic while this is on would automatically fail. However, a dhampir can turn off their aura at the cost of an action (unlike those that have the ability terrible presence) and as an action turn back on their aura. This ability does not stack in intensity when multiple Dhampirs have it activated.Broom : Tinderblast
In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.
Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

There was a possibility that going straight for a blatch this early in the game was not Ana's best idea. Especially considering that the beater she had been gunning for had managed to dodge. She wrinkled her nose slightly upon hearing the order for a penalty lap. She huffed slightly, as she had been hoping that he would somehow fail to notice her flying right at another person. As she made quick work of her penalty lap, she contemplated the nature of latching. To be perfectly frank, she thought it was quite stupid it was a foul. She would imagine that being blatched by her would be far less painful than taking a bludger from the blonde she had been going for. If people were allowed to fling about projectiles, why not allow them to fling themselves? She ought to blatch the announcer. That would show him. Or at least stop him from calling any more penalty laps? There was always the option of just following the rules in order to avoid penalty laps, but that didn't sound overly appealing to the brunette.
She completed her irritation of a penalty lap as quickly as she could, and readied herself for whatever might come next.
Long story short, I survived

Alexx was beaming. It was the first game of the season, and she had the first goal. Against Slytherin's biggest rival, no less! This was going to be her year, she just knew it. She had been training over the summer- preparing to do something great. Greater than great, even. But what she knew now is that she had put the Quaffle through the net, and overcome the unsettling feeling that was in her gut.
There certainly was something in the air, though. Something about one of those Gryffindor players was... Off. She didn't know who, and she didn't know what, but more than once out there her instincts kicked in and she felt like cowering away in the corner, behind the safety of the beaters. Despite persevering through it, she couldn't help but still feel more than a little creeped out by it all. Maybe it was just unfortunate timing.
Still, hot off a goal, Alexx was ready to go again. She had never felt so fresh out there, so ready to make plays and help her team win this. All she needed to do was get her hands back on that quaffle, and she was sure she could sneak one past Gryffindor again. Hearing Nico's praise and feeling a little ego boost, she offered her teammate a thumbs up and a wide, wide smile.
She raised a fist in the air in celebration as she looked to her fellow teammates, hoping this goal had given them a confidence boost. After last season, they certainly needed it.
Actions: As strategized

Abilities:
a1.'s Grace: You can enter threads hidden from other users. There is a 25% chance of this being successful. This can be countered by those with Sixth Sense where if you enter the topic successfully hidden, they get a roll to see if they detect you anyways. You would no longer be considered hidden if you attempt to communicate or you interact with the environment in any ways (such as trying to steal something or hit someone). On any stealth checks, you have a +2 to your stealth.
a2. Sixth Sense: 2 to their awareness rolls. If a player attempts to enter a thread that you are already in, there is a 25% chance that you automatically detect them on entry.
a3. Lovely Creature: You are very distracting to look at. This increases the Control DC of spells in duels and adventures by +2 as well as the DC for finding things in adventures or the DC for finding the snitch in a game of Quidditch. This ability does not stack.
In Quidditch: The Lovely Creature ability in Quidditch matches only affects the snitch search DC for the opponent team.
a4. Foulplay: When performing a foul in quidditch, there is a 25% chance that the foul will go unnoticed by the referees. This would also apply if applicable to duels, wizard chess and gobstones.
