Tarot Card and Second Meetings
Having already met with a couple students that evening and the last session finishing a bit early, Alina took the opportunity to restock her lemonade, making sure that there was a nice cold fresh batch for her last clients of the evening. She checked on the tea as well, and stocked up the candies and pastries.Name: @Miranda Everest

The sun was even lower in the sky, but it's golden rays still filtered through the windows at the far wall. The room wasn't dark by any means, also lit by candles that gave the room warmth and welcome. She also had colorful fabric draped around to give a calming bohemian feel. Pillows, blankets and cushions were arranged for the comfort of her clients.
Before calling who was next, she gave the list a look to know which name to call. Miranda Everest. She met her out on the Grounds early one morning with Nick and while it seemed a little difficult for the three of them to really make a connection, the girl seemed quite nice.
Alina poked her head from the room and looked into the corridor. "Miranda Everest?" she asked and smiled when she saw the blonde. "I know we've met so forgive my standard introduction but if I don't say it, it just won't FEEL right..." She paused. "Welcome to the First Annual Tarot Card Readings by Alina. I'm Alina, Alina Rosier. Please sign at the bottom," and she handed the Ravenclaw a piece of paper that read:

Tarot Card and Second Meetings
Miranda had been walking through the small hall on her way to Breakfast when she'd seen the page detailing a "Tarot Card-Reading service", and had been intrigued. While she herself didn't know how to do such a things, perhaps she could learn a bit from doing it, and also learn her fortune. Therefor, she'd signed up right then and there.
Now it was finally time for her to undergo the experience.
When a familiar voice called her name, Miranda looked up from the book she'd been reading in the corridor and broke into a smile. Alina Rosier. She remembered meeting her, along with Caelan Stewart on a trip to the grounds. While they weren't exactly best friends, Miranda found the other girl an excitable and an excellent person to spend time with.
She was handed a paper and instructed to sign. Quickly, Miranda read it over. A lot of the information seemed obvious, or at least something she knew in her less-than-extensive knowledge of the craft, but other parts worried her slightly. However, she refused to be deterred, and swiftly signed her name on the line with a pen she pulled from one of her pockets.
When done, Miranda followed Aline into the room and handed her back the paper, eyeing the arrayed snacks, but ultimately deciding against having any. She wasn't hungry anyhow.
"I'm ready now," Miranda announced, taking a seat on the floor facing Alina, with the cards between them. She eyed the rectangular items curiously, but said nothing else.

The Celtic Cross spread was one of Alina's favorites and one of her most used formations when it came to readings. It offered one insight to a complication situation or dilemma and for someone like Alina who hated being lost or confused with a passion, she took to it often personally.
"Okay, I'll ask you to choose one card at a time. You'll be choosing ten total," and she made sure the cards were spread so that Miranda had the opportunity to choose any of them. Then she began to lay them out as the girl handed them to her, the first two creating a cross, the next four surrounding the cross, and then a vertical row of four next to the cross. Ten total.
"Okay," she began at the cross. "The Five of Coins reversed indicates an end to difficult times. It says that in recent past you might have felt left out in the cord but that feeling is passing. Your confidence should be beginning to renew now."
The other card in the small cross was the Six of Wands. "There is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is a victory at the end of the road. The Six of Wands is about happiness and celebration. You're about to see results of your hard work and efforts."
Alina liked when the cards told of good for her readings because honestly, she told them as she saw them...the good, the bad, the ugly. She moved to the outside cross. "The Emperor tells us that all the events that are happening now are the things that will give you strength and stability in the future. There may be someone who is part of your scenario to guide you, to teach the benefits of structure and logic."
She moved to the next one. "This is the Nine of Swords. Too much fear and anxiety will never give you a happy and satisfying life. You will need to guard against feeling anxiety. If you are, take a good look at whether or not that is under your own power and control. Perhaps it is people or others that are contributing to it and you can do something about it."
"The High Priestess here says that now is the time to start following your instincts and going with your gut. This a time to rely on your intuition and inner knowledge."
The last card of that outer cross. "The World card says you have endured challenges along the way but they have only made you stronger and wiser. You've worked hard, and you are almost at the finish line so don't quit because you're so close. You are getting closer to who you really are at your deepest levels."
Now it was time for the line to the side. "The Magician says you may be out of touch with reality and struggling to bring yourself back down to earth. Being in reverse like this, you should take notice of which direction you need to go."
Next in line, "Temperance tells us that your life is a promise of peace, serenity, and well-being. In general all your relationships are likely to be going pretty well. You may though need to look deeper into some issues and see if anyone is standing in your way of your goals and aspirations."
So far so good, until this card. It wasn't the worst, but it did shake up the reading. "This one is the Five of Cups," she said as she pointed to it. "Proceed with caution. Don't lead yourself to a sorry situation. This card suggests that you're stuck in the past and can't let go. New opportunities and new possibilities are waiting for you but only if you're ready. It might be time to let go of something."
And the last card. "When the Four of Cups is reversed, it's a time to begin to get moving. Start where you are and embrace the opportunities that are already being offered to you."
The Celtic Cross Spread was a lot to take in with all the cards, but now that it was done she took a sip of her tea. "...Hopefully some of that was helpful."

Tarot Card and Second Meetings
As per Alina's instructions, Miranda began picking cards from the deck and handing them to the other girl one at a time. They were eventually spread into two formations - a cross and a line. No doubt the former of the two was the reason this reading was called "the Celtic Cross".
However, her thoughts were directed to other things when Alina began to list what each card meant.
The first card:
And end to difficult times? Miranda found herself wondering, staring at the card Alina had gestured to. What difficult times is it talking about? My brother? Or something I don't know about? She would have dwelled on it further, but the Hufflepuff was already moving on to the next card.
The second card:
To Miranda, the wand card meant more or less the same as the first - something bad was going to end, replaced by something better. But that still didn't answer what dark thing she was going through. The Ravenclaw's expression was one of confusion and thoughtfulness, but she said nothing as Alina moved onto the third card.
The third card:
"Like a professor?" Miranda murmured under her breath when the next card was explained. "They'd be a good guiding force...and logic sounds good." This hypothesis was followed by a small sigh, then pensive silence as she waited for the next card.
The fourth card:
Anxiety? Yeah, avoiding that sounded like a good idea. Unfortunately, Miranda had always been a natural worrier - there were just so many things that could go wrong at all times! Nothing was ever perfect, and she knew that better than anyone.
The fifth card:
Alright, Miranda didn't trust the High Priestess very much. Going with your gut? Over your intellect. Yeah...no. Who would ever suggest such a thing was a good idea? Miranda decided she would rather ignore the card than follow its advice. Onto the sixth.
The sixth card:
Once again, another card that hinted Miranda was coming to the close of something dark. But short of her suddenly becoming a full human (something she wasn't even sure she wanted), the Ravenclaw could think of nothing she really would have improved. Nothing big, anyways.
The seventh card:
Miranda eyed the card with a confused expression. Which direction she needed to go? Sure, she knew she was quite literal minded, but that probably sounded weird to anyone. There were only so many directions to choose from, after all, and at the moment the only difference would be whether she got to class on time or not. The Ravenclaw decided to ignore that card as well, until she could puzzle it out further.
The eighth card:
Well, that sounded nice. Except for the last bit...and it did strike her as more or less true. But what were her goals in the first place? To get good marks, sure. To do well, although that didn't necessitate much. Maybe she really should spend a bit more time figuring out her options once she graduated from Hogwarts...but no, that was many years away. Even someone who liked to plan as much as she did had to draw limits somewhere.
The ninth card:
So. A bit less positive here, but it kept up the general "something is ending and something is beginning" vibe she'd received from many of the other cards. Miranda didn't tend to put much stock in fortune-telling, but it was a bit creepy how the one message was being repeated. Maybe it would be wise to listen to it? But they were just cards...right?
The tenth card:
And...okay, that sounded pretty straightforward. It sounded a bit like something her excitable french cousin would say. She was more of the positive type. Miranda herself preferred to think of things as she saw them. A realist, if nothing else.
