A Train Wreck Pv Alex, Lace and Aella

Aella was glad when Lace also showed an interest in defence against the dark arts and even if Aella got into Slytherin, the house the girl wasn’t too fond of, perhaps the two could talk about the class together - at least that’s what she hoped. Aella had never been good at making friends since the only people she was allowed to hang out with were other pure-blooded kids whose parents knew her parents.

After Aella asked the question of them seeing magic outside their own parents or household Lace is the first to answer and she shares that she is muggle born possibly a half blood since she only mentions her mother was muggle born and Aella notes that the girl seems awkward sharing this piece of information and she also notes the girl keeps looking over at Alex perhaps they know each other or the girl might have a crush.

Aella only realises why the girl seemed awkward and worried to share she was muggle born when Aldor answers, he too is muggle born and even though he whispers it she catches what he says about being judged for it.

Aella knew some people looked down on wizards and witches who weren’t pure bloods her parents even did and part of her agreed with them since she was always told that pure bloods are superior but she mostly just thought it was her parents and their old ways, her family is a high class pure blooded family so she knew they’d still be stuck on the idea pure bloods were better she didn’t realise many people still thought that way.

“I’m a pureblood witch so I never grew up with any of that muggle stuff you guys did, all I know is magic...” She trailed off she started to think about her parents and what they would say if she made friends with muggle borns or half bloods. She had tried to in the past but those friendships were quickly ended by her family.

“Don’t worry if anyone gives you any hassle for being part muggle just let me know” Aella smiled a little.

She didn't want to disappoint her parents but she also knew that she couldn’t let somebody who didn’t deserve it get bullied or judged. Aella might seem tough around the edges especially if you meet her on a bad day but she’s not all she appears to be.

“But I have to disagree on the books, reading is fine for dorks I just prefer more fun things” She joked and she really hoped they knew it was a joke too.

Aldor mentioned he was from an entirely muggle family, though Lace wasn't from a magical family she at least knew of its existence. 'I cant imagine what it would be like to never hear of magic and then just one day have it.' She thought to herself. Lace didn't fully understand why people seemed to look down on muggle-born wizards, but her mother said that she would have to work extra hard to prove herself. Pure-blood wizards had an old way of thinking, or at least they did when her mother attended Hogwarts. Aella makes a comment about how she wouldn't let anyone give them a hassle. 'Maybe mama was wrong, Aella doesn't seem so bad.' Thought Lace. Lace looks at Aella with a warm smile at the thought of her being willing to stick her neck out for them.

Lace catches herself staring for too long, and eagerly everts her attention to the window. The morning sun was dancing off of the tops of the building so beautifully. Like rivers of honey the light streamed across the sky. Forgetting her surroundings Lace gently begins humming a song her mother used to sing to her when she would wake her for school. Her hum slowly turns into a soft mumble,

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things"

Quickly Lace realized what she was doing and her cheeks turn a flushed amber pink. To try and distract from her slip up she tried to remember what had last been said. 'Aella I think said something about books, ya that's right books.' Gingerly she plucked the book from her lap and sort of dangled it by the seam. "I haven't been much into reading either if I'm being honest. I just really like animals, magical or not." She says, pulling a coiling bleached curl behind her ear while she debates jumping out of a moving train.

Just when he thought things would go better, speaking about what they just did, made him crumble down, he was determinated to talk to these strangers, but now he simply feels scared, unsure, one if biggest fears has always been to end in a similar sittuation, now, all he could manage to do, is answering the comment about reading being for dorks.

''It really is for dorks- I do other things, I listen to Heavy Metal and Alternative Rock, although I am reading all the time, I just read to feel better about anything that might be going on, it makes my head feel clear-''

This was a strange comment, but Aldor wouldn't say more on it, his smile seemed to fade for a few minutes, as he opened his book back up, only to mark one of the pages by folding it's corner and closing the book once again, leaning forward, placing his right hand over under his chin, as he simply stared at one of the walls, still leaving a large space between them, trying not to think about this sittuation.

Aldor has been avoiding any type of contact with them through this whole conversation, and now he is just gone silent, maybe he is someone you should avoid, after all, why would anyone stay with someone as weird as him, he is nothing but another dork, another Muggle-Born, it is really not worth it, or that is what Aldor feels other people think, but since he never really gave a chance for anyone to get to know him better, he is just terrified of the many possibilities on what could happen next.

From the corner of her eye Aella noticed Lace staring at her with a smile usually she’d make some snarky remark about the girl staring and if it was anyone else she would which is why Aella was confused when a small smile appeared on her own face but she quickly went back to a straight expression.

Then Lace began to hum a song that after a few lines Aella recognised and she began to sing it in her head ‘cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels, door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles, wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings, these are a few of my favourite things.’ she giggled out loud but then she got embarrassed and she looked down at her hands

After Aldor replied to her joke about reading being for dorks Aella felt a little guilty which wasn’t a feeling she liked. Watching the boy’s smile fade and him fold over the page of his book and close it made her feel like it was her fault which it probably was but she also thought it was just a joke and he shouldn’t take it so seriously. Usually she’d say something cruel or roll her eyes to make herself feel better but she actually was starting to like these people and she knew this time it wouldn’t make her feel better she’d just feel worse.

“I was only joking dork relax” She gently kicked his foot to get his attention again and she smiled at him “reading isn’t that terrible” she joked emphasising on the word ‘that’

She was a little shocked to hear that the quiet boy across from her listened to heavy metal and rock music it wasn’t something she would of assumed just by looking at him. She wondered what other things she didn’t know about the students sitting with her and what secrets they kept.

Aldor would dart his eyes back up, as he felt Aella's foot bump with his, he would simply feel his face go red, he smiled softly, as he thought of response, this was a very awkward situation.

"I-I know it was a joke don't worry- I just thought that I already bothered you with all my uh, nonstop talking-"

Aldor would lean forward a little more, still at a comfortable distance for both of them, but closer than before, he seems a little more confident, although, he is unsure of how he did not move away as soon as he felt Aella's foot, usually, the slightest touch from anyone would make Aldor back up as quickly as he could, he did feel a little uncomfortable, but he did not move away an inch.

This time, his eyes would focus specifically on Aella, as he smiled once more, still trying to remain calm, yet, it was quite hard, considering that he felt lik his face was burning, in fact, his face is still red.

"So- is there anything you would like to talk about?- it would be- nice to learn about you, I feel like I might have overwhelmed you by talking about myself so much-"

Aella was glad when the boy looked back up at her with a smile she did not like it when people got upset she just can’t ever handle those types of situations so she’s glad he wasn’t, and it made her smile widen to see the boy’s face go red possibly from embarrassment or maybe it was something else.

The boy leaned forward more but there was still quite a lot of distance between both sides, Aella hoped this meant the boy wasn’t annoyed or upset by her joke but that he was just a little awkward of a person. Aella kept eye contact with the boy as he smiled once more and his face turned to the shade of a tomato, she giggled softly.

“There’s no need to worry Humbleglow you haven’t annoyed me yet” The corner of her mouth turned upwards into a side smile or perhaps it was more of a smirk.

Being the considerate person Aella guessed he was from these few interactions Aldor asked her if there was a topic she had in mind to talk about and she didn’t really she didn’t mind them talking in fact she found it interesting she liked to know more about them all.

“You can talk about anything I don’t mind” she shrugged and leaned back

With the next thing he said, Aella’s eyes widened. It took her by surprise when he said it would be nice to learn about her nobody had ever really shown an interest in her personally and she wasn’t sure how that made her feel. Good? Bad?

“I’m not that interesting but ask away, anything you wanna know.” She wasn’t quite sure why she said this, Aella hated sharing things about her life it makes her feel vulnerable and that’s not a feeling she likes but still she said it.

Lace noticed Aldor's face. Like cold stone his expression molded into one less bright. His fingers fumbled through his book and then his eyes seemed focused elsewhere. 'Aella must of upset him, or maybe I did. I hope I didn't upset him.' She thought to herself. The idea of her being the cause of someone's pain made her spine rattle and her chest ache. 'Maybe I should try to cheer him up, but I don't know him well enough to know how.' Continuing the tune of her song Lace began to strum the spine of her book while she watched the world fly by through the window. Trees and buildings melding into one, the speed of which could make someone dizzy. This was her first time on a train, well one this big at least, and she wasn't sure if she liked how quickly it moved.

Lace decides to grab her wand from her book bag, she had only had it a few days and hadn't really gotten used to holding it yet. Her mother said to keep it close, and to gain a trust with it. She began using it to tap gently on her book while trying to ignore the lull of silence that has overtaken the carriage. Her tapping stops when she heard the clattering of shoes. Aella had tapped Aldor with her shoe and went on to sort of apologize for her previous statement. Aldor seemed to still be embarrassed but engaged with Aella further.

Lace was beginning to feel like she was a bit excluded from this conversation, but in true Lace fashion she decided to ignore the proper social cues. " What is it like not having to drive anywhere? I always wondered what being pureblood might be like. Do you have private wizard schools for small children?" Lace asked the girl, her face still very warm and full of glee.

''I believe most families teach their own kids- or send a tutor to do so- I read about magic history a while a go, it seems there is really not much to do about it- traditions and all of that-''

He would play with his hair, trying to calm his nerves, although, it was clear that something was still bothering him, maybe it did not make him mad, he was just confused, scared, or even curious, about how this sittuation will go.

''I mean- maybe there isn't much to do about it but- Hogwarts is just right there, you know?- All along, even if most of your life you couldn't do anything about it- for a change you can be somewhere where you can be whoever you are, some people dislike being around Muggle borns because they will ruin their family's name, but- that is not really a choice that a parent should take- as long as that friendship is good for you- you should be free to be friends or- like anyone you want-''

Aldor would take a deep breath as he thought about it.

''But hey, that's just my Humbleglow-pinion, and as a Muggle born I have no word on that. So! What now?-''

Aldor simply kept looking around him, turning to Aella every once in a while, giving her a gentle smile.

Aella looked at Lace confused when she grabbed out her wand and started tapping it aginst the front of her book but she just thought of something else. After Aella's conversation with Aldor the girl asked her about magical schools her face full of glee. Aella stiffled a laugh at the question Lace asked, it wasn't a silly question or anything she just found the idea of a bunch of young children around the age of seven playing with magic funny. "As far as I'm aware there isn't any magical primary schools."

She looked back over at Aldor when he answered the other girls question, he was playing with his hair - Aella noticed that he did that quite a lot - it was obvious that something was bothering him and she hoped it wasn't her jokes. Aella had hoped he wouldn't mind and would joke back but he looked nervous or maybe it was confusion either way she didn't want to make him stress anymore.

"Aldor is right. I was homeschooled and I had a tutor that came to our house, most pureblood families did." She nodded and started biting the inside of her lip nervously.

It made her quite uncomfotable to talk about her family or about herself because nobody ever really asks her about herself so she's got very used to be being closed off and not saying a word about herself. Aella has gotten so used to it in fact that she often pushes away those questions with a mean comment in response. Its like a defence mechanism.

As the boy continued with what he was saying Aella got increasingly more uncomfotable and she sunk backwards in her seat pushing herself against the window and back of the seat trying to make herself smaller hoping the conversation would end. She felt guilty, most of what Aldor was saying is what she has done, in the past she has stopped being friends with people just because they aren't purebloods and even if it was her parents fault the friendships ended she always felt like she could of fought harder and stood up to her parents. However the play on words 'humbleglow-pinion' did make her smile a little but she quickly stopped.

"You're not wrong." She sighed "We shouldn't stop being friends with people because of their heritage but thats just how some families are." Aella lowered her voice "Some people don't get the luxury of choosing their friends."

Aella did notice Aldor turning towards her every one in a while with a gentle smile and she wondered if he had noticed how uncomfortable she got, she hoped he didn't, maybe he was just being polite he does seem like a polite person.

"Got any more questions?" She asked with a smile not wanting to be rude incase they did but she hoped they'd move on from the topic. Her expression changed suddently and so did the tone in he voice she just pushed down her guilty feelings and faked not being uncomfortable - she had gotten quite good at hiding how she was truly feeling.

Aldor noticed that he might have bothered Aella, he did not really mean this, but he tends to get carried away when he is mad.

"I mean, I did not mean to sound rude- I just think like that because I never really had- any friends back home- well except those- retired women that have a reading club with my aunt, they were usually just- widows or that one witch that really had nothing to do and came over like twice a week asking if we had any tea- "

Aldor would let out a quiet get chuckle, he seemed to be trying to drive the topic away from family related things, while also trying to comfort Aella.

"That woman was like my babysitter when my aunt had to go out because of her work, she was really, really odd- she was fun I guess- but she always talked about a guy delivered my aunt's books, saying things like: 'Iphiane, dear friend, you need to get a couple, you have been single since, forever! How about the man who delivers your books? He's quite handsome!' and my aunt simply laughed but- I thought the guy was really annoying, always treating me like a child- I hated it- It was almost like he was trying to convince my aunt of liking him- never happened though, well-"

Aldor would play with his hair for a bit.

"She started dating him, a few days before I started preparing for Hogwarts, she said she would go out with him for a bit, she did, came back with flowers, a few copies of her favorite book, and- him, I am kind of scared of coming back home at the end of the year and finding my aunt jumping out of happiness with an engagement ring- I want her to be happy but- I don't want her to pay more attention to someone else- "

Aldor would take a deep breath, he never really told this to anyone, not even his aunt, he always pretended he was ok with it, when I'm fact, he was not.

"On the other hand I don't think I have any other questions really- just- kind of hoping we all end up in the same house- "
