Maybe this time a friend and not an enemy
Haley used her free time to finally be outside with a clear head. She looked for a quiet, secluded piece of meadow and made herself comfortable there. She put her head on her bag, closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths in and out. She enjoyed the warmth of the sun on her body.Interacting with @Adelaide Farwley
She was very grateful for this moment. She tried to banish all bad thoughts from her head, but she did not make it for long. Again the encounter with the Slytherins came into her head. Were they really all bad? She asked herself. She didn't want to believe it, but she was proved wrong again today.
Before she could be angry about it any further, she banished the negative events from her mind. A cool breeze on her skin brought her back to reality. She must have fallen asleep. She looked at the clock and was shocked how much time had already passed.
She quickly straightened up, took her bag and books and hurried quickly towards the castle. She urgently needed to do her homework for the next day.
When she had just walked a few steps and she was in the middle of the courtyard, the books slipped out of her arm and they spread all around her.
"Oh damn it" Haley cursed loudly and tried to ignore the looks of the other students. She was incredibly embarrassed by this situation at that moment and she felt her cheeks warm up. Come on Haley, she spurred herself on inside.
Just as she was picking up the books that were right in front of her feet and she stood up to pick up the other books from the floor, she looked into two light gray eyes. At least she believed it was gray, it was hard to decide between gray and blue. She was startled and smiled briefly in shame when she noticed from the colors of her robe that the girl was a Slytherin.
THAT can't be seriously true, Haley yelled inside. She now straightened up completely and prepared herself for everything that might come and only expected the worst.

Adelaide was happy to say, that today was a rather splendid day. She had had Transfiguration first thing in the morning and was able to accomplish 5 points for her house, when she came down for lunch, there were still some mashed potatoes left and to top it all, she had used her free period to finish up her Potions essay and was sure that she'd get an O on it.
So feeling rather happy, she made her way down the long corridors,into the entrance hall and through the great oak doors. Once being outside she looked around the courtyard, trying to spot the perfect place for her to sit down and enjoy the sun, while reading a good book. When all of the sudden she spotted a young Gryffindor Girl clumsily dropping all of her books and cursing rather loudly.
Adelaide watched the girl, who had dropped down to the ground and hurriedly tried to pick up all of her books, for a few seconds before chuckling softly and making her way over to her. Probably a first year, she thought. She picked up a few books that flew a bit farther away and waited patiently for the other girl to look up.
Adelaide watched with interest when the young girl looked up and smiled briefly (probably in shame...) only to take on a pretty defensiv posture when she noticed her robes. She smirked slightly, raised an eyebrow and stuck out her hand with her books in it. When the girl hesitated for a few seconds, Adelaide chuckled again and said, "I didn't curse them, you know?" The other girl looked as thought she didn't really believe her but nevertheless took her books.
Adelaide took one last look at the other before softly rolling her eyes and sarcastically saying, "Phew! And you people think Slytherins are the prejudiced ones..." Sending her a last smirk and a slight nod goodbye, she made her way around the other girl and to her favorite reading spot.

But instead of lapsing into insults and laughter as expected, the girl gave her some of the books that had fallen down. Haley was totally surprised by the action and didn't really know what to do. She just looked at the girl in a confused way.Interacting with @Adelaide Farwley
When her words brought her back to reality, Haley had to grin a little bit, she liked the humor, but still wasn't sure about this situation. She received the books carefully, ready for the girl to drop them at the last moment, but she didn't.
Her last words had sat and she was absolutely right. Haley felt bad, she always tried not to be prejudiced, but this time she just couldn't. She had been influenced too much by other Slytherins but was very grateful for this encounter.
Haley smiled again quickly, but the girl hadn't seen this as she already moved. Instead of continuing on her way to the common room, Haley turned around and took a few steps towards the girl and in a not too loud voice she quickly shouted after her "Hey, sorry! I didn't mean that, I was just out of line. Thanks for your help!"
Haley assumed that the girl wouldn't take it any further and that was okay for her, after all, it was Haley who acted strange with her. She now packed all her books in her bag and was about to turn around to leave.

Adelaide turned around and smiled at the other girl. "Don't worry! It happens all the time. " She went to sit onto one of the many benches that were still free and opened her book. It was one of her favorites and she had read it like 20 times already.
Glancing up slightly and watching the girl packing all her books into her bag, she added as an after thought. "Maybe we should do something about this trust issues of yours". When the other girl just looked up confused she smirked and looked down at her book again. "Well, it seems as thought you need a friend in Slytherin... To show you on what fun you're missing out on."
When Adelaide looked up again, she saw the other girl slightly smiling at her and smiled back. "My name is Adelaide, by the way. Adelaide Farwley. But you can call me Addy if you want. That is, if you want to be friends...?"
Still smiling she looked back down at the book in her lap and started to read the first few pages of story. Happy, that she was at least able to gain a bit of trust from the other girl.

Haley picked up the rest of her books and was glad to hear the girl's words and that she did not resent her appearance. Haley had to laugh at her suggestion, but she was not wrong, Haley had a trust issue with the Slytherins. She liked her humor and she could hardly believe that there was actually someone from Slytherin who was just a bit like herself.Interacting wiht @Adelaide Farwley
"I have to admit that you are probably right about my trust issues," Haley laughed at the girl, "I am happy to accept your offer." She now smiled and winked at Adelaide, or Addy, as she told Haley.
Haley walked over to the bench where Addy was sitting and held her hand in reply, "It's very nice to meet you, I'm Haley, Haley Rose." At that moment Haley didn't care about her homework anymore, she knew she would have to work a night shift, but she would rather talk to her new acquaintance.
"I don't want to bother you while you read," she glanced briefly at the book in her hand "But if you want we can start with the project - Get rid of Haleys trust issues-". This sentence sounded so absurd that Haley immediately had to start laughing again. "I usually do a little more subtle than that."
