Charles merely turned on his heel when an rather tall blonde girl, Erin Ryan, he assumed from Hogwarts, tried to punch him but lucky for him Charles moved out of the way just in time again as the punch just landed on his shoulder. Charles couldn't help but give her a half smile but not flirt as the girl was clearly not his time before saying " that wasn't your target was it and what's with you Hogwarts people always butting in places you don't belong," Charles moved past her and back to Maximillian and the beauxbatons girl, Sylvie Everett, as their conversation still seemed rather awkward and personal so Charles decided to comment as he speak to help out a old friend well sort of, " my apologies for cutting in but since it appears that Maximillian here wants to get to know you miss, could I recomend a option," Charles waited for a few minutes before continuing " I heard about a ball happening soon, might I suggest you two going together? To get better acquainted with each other, I'll leave you both to yourselves now."
Charles stepped a bit away from them as he looked for another French girl to flirt with, when another male seem to talk to him, Lizzie Verdine INPC, seemed to talk to him. Charles looked at the French boy and while he was smart never really showed it since when away from family he was a goof ball who enjoyed having fun couldn't help but to make himself appear taller as he spoken to him " ah so you do talk, I thought you were a mute there for a while," Charles remembered the boy doing sign language even through Charles himself didn't know it at all. Charles then gave a half smile before replying to the boy " I doubt that's even possible but I not wanting to show off my skills in the dark arts I'll leave you to flirt with the girls, if you can."
Charles didn't leave in fact he just moved off to the side as he watched the beauxbatons which was a good thing since one girl, Rosa Swann, who was pretty no doubt but Charles felt no attraction to her like almost every girl he flirted with. The girl however gave him a look that told him she was flirting so Charles gave her on back as he gave a half charming smile and small head nod but was quickly distracted by her by a familiar voice. Charles turned and saw Cassie Heather or Cass as Charles called her talking to him.
Charles smiled at her and weirdly unlike the rest, he enjoyed talking to her and actually felt something which was odd to the boy who spent his life either ignored by family or aimlessly flirting with girls. Charles couldn't help but agree with her while also laughing a bit " thanks for the reminder Cass but if I never recognized that I was a idiot then I can't make fun of the fact," Charles relaxed a bit around her as when they first met a few years back, Charles already knew that she knew how much he enjoyed aimlessly flirting with girls but also jokes of any kind especially those that could get you in trouble.
" If I keep to myself no one else is going to punch me Cass but for the flirting, you know me I just can't help myself," Charles spoke as he looked at her with a smile before adding " it is nice to see you again, how have you been? Are you on the broom racing team? Will I see you on the race in a few day's?" Charles loved broom racing and flying that whenever he could, the boy would discuss it or really he would talk or flirt with anyone really since he spent years of being ignored by family that sort of gave him a confidence to speak to anyone.

"Then you were not paying attention, that is the sort of mistake that gets someone killed," Erin replied with a cold tone as the Beaubaxons girl tried to protect Alluring. "Why protect him?" A relevant query considering the situation. A flippant foreigner carousing, making an unwanted advance. Sad attempts at displaying dominance shoulder checking the only adult, unbeknownst to Erin but also the father of the girl. Disrespectful. Deplorable. "Somehow sorry undoes everything?"
She looked the girl in the eye and cocked her head to the side an inch further than one would have deemed natural. Erin was a lovely young woman, but the pureblood was dangerous. The part Veela was a predator and Erin appraised Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin (@Lucia Fox) like a lion would a gazelle with a limp. "Is that" what Charles Alluring (@Henry Knight) had given Browne "what the French call an apology?" Yes, that was an insult. It was obvious to anyone with eyes, anyone that considered the scene in context. Even someone as mad as a hatter.
A lesson.
"Words have power, but are hollow without meaning and intention." The basics of wizardry. Say the word, the undulations of their tongue and the rattle of their throat meaningless without the movement. Yes, the proper movement of not only their lips but their arm as they swish about a a length of wood. Not just any wood, but a wand. A rod of power. A focus to harness their magical potential. Yes, their magical potential that was in their very blood. That was still not enough, there was more required. More than the right word. More than the right movement. More than a length of magic imbued wood. More than genetics. There needed to be intention. Passion. Truth.
Erin's fingers curled into her palm and she swung at Charles hard, with the force that would leave some with a fractured jaw. She spared the girl (Cassie) the brunt of her physical might, even if it might be undeserved. They were both likely dangerous. They were both likely death witches. Death witches or midget giants. It was hard to keep them straight any longer. However, despite it being unlikely. Nay, improbable. Apparently lady luck cared not for the girl as the youth defied probability and she missed her mark. Much like the girl that he had accosted.
"Sorry is not an apology, it is a word," she continued. She glanced at the youth, the one-dimensional boy that was deep as a puddle and was not sorry. However an altercation was no longer necessary as he addressed her with useless words.
"That wasn't your target was it and what's with you Hogwarts people always butting in places you don't belong."
He said that but he did not mean that. Erin let out a low guffaw that would crescendo into a raucous laughter. He lost every ounce of relevance in a matter of seconds. Not because he insulted her. He needed to be relevant for her to care. He needed to be more than a walking contradiction for his opinion of belonging to hold enough weight to be consumed by Ammit. She pushed past the boy babbling in another tongue, she did not notice or even care what language he was speaking. It did not matter because he did not matter. The girl did -- Cassanora. Not that Erin knew her name as she approached the girl as well as the keeper of fields, @Caradoc Browne.
No hand kissing, despite the fact that she had a better chance than what's his face. "Hi, let's be like super-bestest friends," that was painful to say and she might have lost a few braincells just then but it did not matter. Depriving the giants of another meal was worth the sacrifice. "I want to show you something..." her brain scrambled to come up with something girls liked. "PINK!"

position at the edge of the path
Oh, how Johannes felt out of place. A crowd of strangers, dressed in blue wool tailcoats and cravats, naturally sliding out of pretty gilded carriages tugged along by abraxan-pegasi. He peered forward past locks of spelt dark mahogany curls toward where the carriages landed, lurking off to the side and back of the Hogwarts professors near the trees, the sweet smell of the woods nudging at him. Proper red and gold buttoned uniform, though he had switched out his leather gloves for fingerless ones for better movement in the warmer temperature, his heavy fur coat not necessarily needed and yet not too obtrusive. The weight of it was grounding, yet the vibrancy of his uniform made him feel like a beacon.
He was looking for someone. He knew who- Lucas Alexander Dragamior, the writer of those fine letters that made his Hellhounds hoot and whistle jokingly every time he visited the owlery. But he just didn't know who exactly. Too many people all in the same type of outfit. At the very least, Johann hoped that Lucas wanted to meet him as much as he did. At the very least, Johann hoped that keeping his uniform on helped identify him in the middle of a blue-black-white crowd.
"-ohannes Sauer?" A low hum of confused intrigue escaped him as he once'd over the newcomer boy, the other with one eyebrow cocked upwards. Perhaps an inch or two shorter, he was quite sure that the other was at least his year or a year younger- though some kids seemed to be taller than average and Durm's firsties went in a year younger than the other schools. [IN RUSSIAN] "Who's to ask?" A shock of pale hair- far lighter than the familiar nicely kept and combed butter blonde of Asriel, it was almost platinum. Blue eyes- god, they were almost flower box blue, who the hell decided this was a good idea to place someone that looked like that in front of him, great gay-panic dumpster fire?
Behind the figure, it seemed that the rest of the Beaux arrivals weren't nearly as put together as he'd thought. As nice as their uniform was, apparently the rumoured elegance that the French school kept up appearances with- at least, according to his lackeys, snow stacked upon their boots and dusted on hair and fur alike- had been just as much as a selective thing as the dignification of Hogwarts. For as nice as some of them looked, in much the same awe as he was of the castle, some of them seemed just as rough n tumble as he was expecting from Durmstrang if Durmstrang wasn't so stoic. Someone tried to shoulder check one of the only adults present- not Beaux, they were not dressed as the French Headmaster, their words clipped and English-, which very understandably pissed off those in charge.
Oh damn, he knew the beginnings of a fistfight in defence when he saw one, gotten a few more than a couple of counts of bruised knuckles and bloody noses from them, and weren't they spiteful? He wasn't expecting this from Beaux, not really. As unapproachable as they had been towards everyone so early in the morning, at least Durm had the dignity hide behind walls of ice instead of lashing out with flaming words. Charles though...

Turning to the out of place boy in the group, Verena looked at him curiously. She looked at him just in time to see a girl try and punch him, but he avoided it. She lived in a patriarch world, so Verena was taught to see herself a bit less than males. But even with that patriarchy, she knew that you shouldn't treat a woman like that. She knew that she would've done the same if she didn't have to worry about that.
Verena then turned to see one of the girls in her school embracing with one of the teachers at Hogwarts. They were clearly happy to see one another, and she inferred that they were father and daughter. She craved for that relationship with her own. He always seemed to be distant and saw her as more of an heir than a daughter. Verena would try and talk to him, but he was so intimidating.
Verena got lost in thought before hearing Rosa speak to her again. Florian and Rosa were going to the Great Hall for food and then rest for the broom race tomorrow. She wasn't participating in the race, she was more interested in duelling, but it would be nice to get sleep before what was sure to be a hectic week. "Coming!" Verena said, tailing along with Florian and Rosa to the Great Hall.Verena leaves the thread

It seemed that she had lost the attention of the other girl, which was fine. Kit would use it as a quick chance to glance around the place, noting their Headmaster's call before returning her attention to Sébastien. His strategy for conversations appeared to be a mix of complimenting and insulting which the girl had to admit was interesting. Certainly not something she had expected when conversing, but she didn't mind.
"Les personnes plus raffinés? Mais tu es encore ici." More sophisticated people? And yet you're still here. She would later find that this note would be put up in the air, but for the time being it seemed as though he was still here and still talking. "Merci. Thank you. Born in the US." The switch between languages was easy enough having been taught both of them at a young age.
"Peut-être Beauxbatons veut donner les autre écoles une chance. Moi, je joue quidditch- et c'est tout." Maybe Beauxbatons wanted to give the other schools a chance. Me, I play quidditch- and that's all. She would add a shrug to the end of her words. The girl wasn't sure she could compliment her quidditch skill quite yet- she was only a first year after all, and certainly wasn't going to be their seeker.
Another boy would join their conversation, although he added nothing useful and quickly left. She didn't particularly mind until she noticed that he was doing this to multiple girls, wondering why he had considered that to be a good idea. It made sense that he got in trouble just a few moments later.
"Peut-être c'est un exploit dans son famille. Ca semble qu'il essaye d'avoir tous les filles ennuyé avec lui." Perhaps it's a feat in his family. Seems like he was trying to get every girl annoyed at him. Soft laughter followed as she shook her head. What had that boy been thinking? "Maitenant, s'il vous voulez aller avec votre personnes plus raffinés," Now, if you'd like to be with your more sophisticated people, a small smirk would appear on her face, "Je vais explorer autours le château." I'll be exploring around the castle.

Alright, he was called Max again. It was weird that Maximilien never liked the nickname “Max” — he preferred Maximilien, or, if it had to be sorta a nickname, Maxi with the “i” was definitely better. The boy regarded Max as a masculine strong man, and Maxi a much more elegant one. He was definitely not masculine by all means, so the boy believed that Maxi was better.
“It is Maxi, my friend.” he smirked and answered. He didn’t really mind what Cassie called him actually— somehow, he valued this only friend. Though, there were just so many people calling him Max. Which frustrated him. “Maxi with an “i”. I thought I’ve told you about it. Have I? Anyway, thanks Cass, I’m doing well…yeah, well.” his words faded into the air. Was he well really? He couldn’t tell.
————————
[Here comes the real interactions]
Sylvie Joelene Everett. Hmm, not really a bad name.
“Alright then, Sylvie.” he tried his best to pronounce every syllable in her name. “Actually you may call me —”
And an intruder bumped in. It was the fun Charles Alluring, who attempted to kiss one of their girls approached. Maxi had to give up talking with Sylvie, and greeted the newcomer. He felt bad treating his fiancée like this, but, he’s too polite to throw another people somewhere alone. “Charles.” he paid the boy a nod. “It’s nice to meet you here.” though something rang a bell. He was called Max AGAIN.
“It is Maxi with an “i”. I haven’t mentioned it before, have I?” he asked back. Though the boy doubted whether Alluring had heard him — for that Durmstrang dude stormed out and tried to flirt with another girl. Watching him, Maxi shook his head.
“Back to our conversation,” he turned to Sylvie “Just call me Maxi if you don’t fancy Maximilien…but no Max, please? I…I don’t like it…” then his voice faded. Yet again.
“I fully understand.” he muttered. “Though, no — no, I’d love to talk…to communicate, maybe…avoiding the fact seems not a good idea…yeah.” he hoped Sylvie could understand him. Monsieur le Comte wasn’t someone that would compromise, but at least he could try — or at least, try to learn more about his future “wife”. Hopefully they could be friends…hopefully.
And the annoying Charles jumped in. He asked what he had missed. In Maximilien’s mind, he shouldn’t even be there, really. It was a private conversation, rather than a public one. He hoped he could say that out loud, but still, he couldn’t. “Nothing, thank you.” he answered rather coolly, though still pretty polite. Thankfully he heard nothing.
Someone came to rescue. It was the English girl called Erin — and she punched Charles for kissing Cassanora, maybe. Maximilien shrugged a bit seeing Cassie hurried to stop them. Cassie was always like this. Warm hearted to almost everybody. He believed that’s why he was drawn to her, and now, maybe still drawn. But, Charles deserved it somehow — he was doing to much obviously.
“You are doing too much, Charles.” quietly he started, though in English. “You seem causing troubles around here.” Charles didn’t hear it apparently, for he was busy fighting, or messing with Erin. But…the trouble maker made his way back.
And he suggested…he suggested that he and Sylvie should go to the ball together before he left. “Thank you for your kindness, sir.” He answered, then turned to Sylvie. “If my grandfather asks me to do this, I might have to consider it. But if Alluring asks…just friends, okay?” and he gave Sylvie a hand, not sure if the girl wished to shake.
With a small sigh, his eyes looked yonder. Unexpectedly the grey eyes fell on that girl. That blonde one. It was a surprise that he could find her in the crow so easily, really…surprising.Open to any interactions!

Scoffing as the braggish and imprudent boy shouldered a Hogwarts Professor, Roberta could only watch in awe as the blonde boxer followed him with a swift hook. Despite his cool demeanor, Roberta had no doubt the blonde could crush him to paste if he had actually attempted to put up a fight. No, he would resort to cowardice and false-self assuredness as she pulled her punches. Likely to avoid embarrassment or worse. Regardless it served him right for crossing those invisible yet tangible boundaries. Hopefully it would teach him to behave a bit more gracefully.
Caught off guard by this turn of events, Roberta was pleased to make observations on their competition so early. Finally coming to the realization that this boy must be speaking some sort of Russian, she put two and two together and presumed he must have been a Durmstrang student. A fact confirmed by his French. If the Durmstrang challengers were anything like this distracted and cowardly flirt, then she and the rest of the Academy would have to look forward to matching the incredible fighting spirit displayed by Erin. Not that she knew her name. She didn't know her name. "Who is she?" Roberta said pointing to the girl asking aloud instead of any one person. Regardless of her mind, she was surely a great warrior.
Whether learning her name or not, Roberta turned to the rest of her class mates, most of whom seemed to be leaving for the dining hall. "Mes amies!" My Friends! she said half panicked as her stomach grumbled yet again. Well, she took precedent in any case, so her father's letter would have to wait. She was busy taking care of herself first. "Madame Jensen, Monsieur Monserrac." She paused as she attempted to recall his name, "Monsieur...." before eventually letting her voice trail as she curtsied yet again inviting him to fill in the gaps of her knowledge. "Perhaps after dinner we can go on this tour?" With no more fuss, and her introductions made, she sped off to the great hall to eat potatoes in as many forms as available. Inviting all of her friends and classmates to join her on the tour possibly coming afterwards.

That gets someone killed?!
"Huh?!"
Maybe this girl seriously had something wrong with her. Had something happened to Erin? Maybe she came from one of those fancy pureblood families which always seemed to have something wrong with them. In the world of Beauxbatons, it almost seemed as if the only truly happy families were that of muggle-borns.
But even they weren't really happy, were they? Even Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin, who usually found it pretty easy to make friends, had seen herself on the recieving end of bullying over her blood status. Stupid idiots. As if the magical abilities of a person's parents determined their worth in life.
Cassie stared at the blonde for a second, then relaxed. It was a viable question after all, and it had an easy answer. "Because he's my friend," she told Erin simply. "And I protect my friends, no matter how idiotic they are. Don't you?"
Cassie hoped that the Hogwarts student had at least some sense of loyalty - then, surely, she would understand why Cassie had protected the idiot named Charles Alluring.
"Of course it doesn't. But it's the most someone can really do, isn't it?" Cassie told Erin, feeling as though she understood where the blonde was coming from. She wanted to protect Cassanora; an honorable goal in Cassie's eyes, but it still wasn't her place. Or, who knew, perhaps at Hogwarts students could go round punching each other when they liked. Nice to see that the British were doing their best.
"Probably not. As I said, Charlie's an idiot and has no sense of respect. But if - whatsisname - the professor - him - wanted to punish Charles, he'd just do it, wouldn't he? But unless you're a prefect or something, which I don't think you are-" Cassie scanned the girl's robes for some form of badge, and found nothing suggesting a position of power "-it's not really your job or authority to do that. And even if you were, I don't think you're supposed to punch people as punishment."
As it happened, Erin missed Charles, which caused Cassie to breathe a sigh of relief. But what the Durmstrang boy said next forced her heart to somewhere below her stomach.
"Charles!" Cassie cried, having a sudden feel as if she had no control whatsoever of this conversation. "It's usually polite to say sorry - properly - when you've done something wrong. And accept when you've been stupid, and try not to get yourself into any more trouble." she said scathingly. Friends, sure, but the muggleborn still found the words shooting out of her mouth like bullets.
"I am surrounded by idiots," Cassie muttered under her breath, in such a quiet tone that no-one could hear her, as both Erin and Charles moved off. "Well, bye, I guess," she called after the taller blonde, who appeared to be making her way towards the professor who Charles had 'apologised' to. "Nice meeting you." After all, it had been until she had started punching Cassie's friends.
Charles had seemingly ignored both her statement about idiocy, and her warnings, and was moving off into the crowd again. Did that boy have no boundaries, or did Durmstrang simply teach its students how to flirt instead of anything useful?
For a few moments, the Beauxbatons girl simply stood by her own, embracing the soft chatter and feeling of people around her. These were the sorts of moments Cassie thrived on, these little breaks in time where the rest of the world kept moving.
Her newfound 'peace' was interrupted a second later, however, by Charles again, who had come back - perhaps now that he had seen that Erin had gone?
"You don't need to make fun of it. But it'd be useful if you actually controlled it, you know," Cassie advised her friend. "Not that you seem to do anything I say," she added under her breath, before raising her voice to a normal level again. "Seriously though, Charlie, you're twelve years old! Not eighteen!"
Cassie sighed. "Just, try get a handle on it okay, or you'll get thrown out before you've barely stepped foot in the castle."
Oh. The broom race. The one subject which Cassie had been hoping to avoid in conversation. Well, she guessed it had to come up at some point, and now was as good as any time. "I'm on the team," she confirmed, "but for some reason I didn't get picked for this race. So, no, you won't."
The words were as blunt as Cassie herself, but she didn't do anything to mask the slight layer of resentment that huddled beneath them.
Her stomach suddenly gave a rumble, and Cassie found herself wondering what was for dinner. "Think I'll go get some food soon," she announced to no-one in particular.

Erin cocked her head to the side as she received a lecture on responsibility. Was this girl serious? it would seem so. The sort of perspective a child has. The sort of perspective a pampered brat would have. If someone falls, don't lift them up. After all, there are people for that. If someone fights. If someone dies. If there is a need, there is someone. Not her. That would take care of it.
"You think only Prefects are arbiters of justice. Beholden to the needs of their people... If so, I fear that their fidelity for their house and perhaps their school would leave people such as you unattended..." there was a bitterness to her voice and a power behind her words that seemed to betray her brutish mannerisms and her interminable rage. A façade. A farce, like so many things in the wizarding world.
She had missed the boy. Insert some snark. A general sense of discomfort that seemed to roll off observers and victims. There is a difference between... well, there was no time for semantics. There was no time to explain to some Frenchie that everything was Erin's responsibility and that it was Cassie's as well. That people were fallible. That authority was not meant to be bucked against, but it was meant to be assessed and if necessary questioned. That an authority is nothing more than the person that we expect to do something and that sometimes they fail. Sometimes they do not have everyone else's best interests at heart, only their own. That the law was at best a general guideline for the girl.
She would hear a farewell to her back. Unusual, she was never given a departing statement that was not prodding or cruel. Most say nothing, perhaps preferring to forget her presence. Forgetting seemed to come easy here. She raised a hand without turning around and gave her a short wave. "It was informative," she could not say 'nice' because that would be a lie. She had no concept of pleasure, just the absence or presence of pain. the physical sort. The feel of something warm or cool, of something rough or smooth. The sentiment however was lost to her, in the place where the heart might lay, was but a hole.
She would look over at Mr. Browne. "I know...I know... detention," she announced. "I will rake leaves in the courtyard the duration of my Saturday." Why wait for the punishment to be dealt? Why argue from the stance of victimhood? Detention was hardly a deterrent. It was merely a deterrent. A consequentialist mindset where someone did not consider right from wrong but rather in terms of balance, would it be 'worth' the time lost. To the friendless girl, it was of no consequence. She had nobody to spend her Saturdays with. She would have been on the grounds regardless, free from the confines of the castle. She would be spending those hours getting stronger. Endeavoring to simply survive, not that she had a reason to keep living but she also had no reason to die. So here ambition was simple, live for the sake of it. At one time her ambition was something different. Something that she willingly forfeited everything to the crones for. She did not fear the change... how could she?
Presuming no answer to her previous quarry - Cassanora. She did not want to leave. she would not accept Erin's protection. A shame really, it was possible Erin would forget the girl's face in a matter of days after she died. She would let out a sigh. There was no passion. No reason to truly fight, the girl was meaningless to her. Both in terms of the heart as well as the mind. There was no role. she was not 'hers' in any regard. Her friend. Her sister. Her neighbor, schoolmate or classmate even. There was no connection, just the mediocre attempt at human decency so many others seemed to lack. Of course she was considered the brute, the heathen and the madwoman. Did not matter. Not really. "Can't say I did not try," she muttered as she started to walk away.
Saved the effort, gave myself detention. Link In character it does not even have to be given to me, she just did it on her own. Cut out the middle man one could say.

Just a trick of the lighting they said...

He laughed, [F] "Mute? That's a new one." Sebasiten shook his head slowly and continued, [F] "Not all people that know sign-language are actually mute. Some may be deaf." The boy then winced a bit and looked down at the floor. Deaf was a touchy word and it did not settle in his stomach well. Berry had no idea why he had even said it.
The boy in front of him continued to speak nonsense and it had started to irritate Sebastien a lot more than it should have, [E] "I actually have the decency to know when to flirt with girls. I'll also let you know I am more into boys." He smirked, [E] "They have more personality sometimes."
He turned back towards Kit and smiled, [F] "Quidditch is a good sport yes. Maybe they did want to give the other schools a chance. I am sure they would not have won if I was out on that pitch." Sebastien grinned widely and folded his arms again while looking to the sky.
[F] "I am sure that he is just trying to impress people. Probably has done it the wrong way." He replied before eyeing up the Durmstrang student again. [V] "I hope to see you again Kit." Sebastien quickly lifted her hand and kissed up then took off towards the castle as well. He really wanted to see the inside of it.
