The most interesting part of the trip was the broom race no doubt, now that it has past Charles didn't find any other reason to stay at hogwarts, besides from the fact that he could see and hang out with Fyodor Prior. Three weeks, for the rest of October he would stay at the school which wasn't to bad besides from being bored constantly, Charles thought about taking a joy ride around hogwarts on a broom but then remembered the warning he got from his headmaster when they arrived, to properly represent Dumstrang or whatever not like Charles cared since the first day he arrived, Charles got into a fight with one of the older students from Dumstrang.
Anyway dressed in jeans and a Dumstrang shirt, Charles decided to meet Fyodor in the hogwarts halls or corridors to mess with a few hogwarts students, he thought Fyodor would be there first but turns out Charles was the first one there and was starting to get bored being by himself and all. As he leaned on a wall of the corridor waiting for Fyodor to appear, his thoughts started to wander to the dance on the 16th, now that was something to look forward to especially when there were hot French girl's at hogwarts as well and Charles was sure at least one of them he could go with.
Charles gave his usual half smile to himself as he thought about going to this dance with a hot French girl on his arm, now that would be perfect. No second thoughts needed, Charles would go with a French girl and a hot one at best because he was somewhere different, somewhere new that only meant one, well two things. It gave him the chance to be someone he wasn't and it gave him a chance to take risks and be brave which he always was, well according to the himself that was.
However Charles couldn't ask anyone that day since he was waiting for Fyodor but who knows maybe one might come to him, maybe his chance will open up soon and he will take it.

Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin was in a mood. Stalking the corridors of the Scottish school probably - no, definitely - went against her whole 'optimistic broom racer' vibe, but who even cared right now? The girl had lost most of her friends to locations unknown (probably back at the carriage, but Cassie wasn't sure) and needed some air. So, there she was, in the deserted corridors of Hogwarts, trying to work off some steam.
Why was she in such a grump, you may well ask? It was mainly to do with the previous broom race, which Cassie Heather had attended... As a watcher. It was the first time since getting on the team that she had watched a broom race rather than being a part of it, and she couldn't say that she particularly enjoyed the experience. The race had been riveting, sure, and the muggleborn had cheered on her school wholeheartedly, but now that it was all over she felt like something had dropped out of her.
Why hadn't she been chosen to race? She was on the team, wasn't she? So why hadn't she been chosen?
Questions like these had been stomping around Cassie's mind for the whole day, taking up residence in areas where she wished they wouldn't go. She should be pleased, shouldn't she, that she had been allowed to go at all? But, then again...
With a grunt, the Beauxbatons student turned a corner, and immediately spotted a figure leaning against the wall. Upon closer inspection, she recognised the figure to be- "Charlie! Hey!"
Cassie had first met Charles Alluring a little over two years previously. She and her parents had been trying to gain entry into the supposed hidden magical street in Paris, but an hour or so of tapping and stroking the statue had brought nothing to light except a lot of odd glances from passers-by. But that was when Charles (or, as Cassie called him, Charlie) appeared. Although only Cassie's own age, he had quickly noticed their predicament and showed them how to enter the street. He had then acted as Cassie's impromptu tour guide to the magical world - which helped enormously, seeing as he had been born into it and Cassie had only discovered its existence about a year before.
Now, she hurried along the corridor. "Oh hey, I didn't think you'd be here!" she grinned, obviously pleased to see the Durmstrang boy. "How're you doing?"

Charles lean his head on the wall and crossed his arms as he waited for his friend, he wasn't big on day dreaming or thinking but he was alone and is was only natural for his mind to slip away. It slipped to a few day's earlier at Dumstrang when he was running with his older brother in the morning, before Dumstrang they were training partners but now well Charles didn't know how to describe his relationship with Andrew anymore escape maybe complicated.
Luckily someone came along as he heard them mentioned him by Charlie; a name only friends and sometimes schoolmates referred to him as whole family and at home he was strictly Charles. Charles looked and saw Cassie Heather; a girl who was if he was correct a second year beauxbatons. Charles met her two years ago, the summer before his second year at Dumstrang. Charles was staying in France because of his Father and Mother's business and it was just after they declared Andrew the next head and Charles nothing, then the fight between him and his brother happened which ruined their relationship.
Charles remembered he stormed out and found Cassie Heather trying to get into the magical part of Paris before acting sort of like her guide to the magical world. Charles moved himself away from the wall before speaking " Cassie hello, I didn't expect you to be here either," Charles was glad for the company as he continued " yeah I'm here for the broom racing since I'm on the Dumstrang team. What about you, why are you here Cass?"
Charles remembered how he called her Cass despite others calling her Cassie, he then remembered something else as he continued " are we still going flying sometime together? Uh sorry about the incident that happened last time we met," Charles did enjoy her company and missed talking to the girl, she was one of those whom he could be himself around and not worry.

Outfit"Oh..." Cassie Heather suddenly remembered why she was here in the first place, and said, "I mean, here... right now," she amended with a little smile, and finished, "I'm, well, brooding, cause I didn't get picked. But..." Cassie sighed. "I guess not everyone could have been chosen anyway. It's just so frustrating"
Luckily, Charles quickly changed the subject, which Cassie didn't object to. "Sure," she shrugged. "Though I have a really trashy broom, so I might not be able to keep up. Mum and Papa won't buy me one 'till third year, 'cause they think it might just be a 'phase'." The muggleborn rolled her eyes.
"Incident is one way of putting it," Cassie murmured, remembering what had happened. "Well, that's happened now," she said louder and more briskly. "Just try not to do it again, and you'll be fine."
It was a useless statement, and she knew it.

OOC Note: Andrew is Charles's older brother
Charles listened as Cassie spoke about not being picked for the racing team but something was different about the boy, he felt different especially around Cassie. Charles couldn't think about it so instead he spoke " oh that sucks, I'm sorry that you weren't chosen but beauxbatons was probably suffering without you since your a phenomenal broom racing Cass," Charles gave her a half smile as she started to talk again.
Charles couldn't help but laugh in a friendly way when Cassie spoke about having a trashy broom and why her parents won't but her a good broom. Charles smiled but a full and real one as he spoke " I'm pretty sure you'll be able to keep up since I also have a trashy broom now," Charles school his head a bit before a small chucked escaped his lips as he spoke " over the summer holiday Andrew decided to snap my broom in half which was nice and my family refused to buy me another even though they can afford it. So I'm stuck on a shooting star for the time being," Charles rolled his eyes a bit before laughing " over the summer holiday I was thinking of buying myself a new broom with my families money, I could buy you one to if you like?"
Charles ran a hair through his curls as Cassie spoke, she was right but why did he act the way he did around others? Was it because he was afraid of being forgotten? Of being ignored? Maybe that was why he insulted others or flirted with them even though he didn't want to. Charles didn't tell Cassie this instead he just nodded, " yeah, I could do that. I could probably stop flirting with others and maybe even starting fights if you want Cass?"
Charles looked around a bit but something still didn't settled right in Charles as he felt different around Cassie. He felt like himself, like he could be himself and not afraid of being ignored or forgotten. Charles enjoyed being around her and actually wished to be around her more as he remembered that a ball was coming up soon Charles spoke " uh Cass, I was wondering? So I'm guessing you know about the ball coming up and I was wondering if you were going with anyone yet?" Charles gave her a genuine and real smile that was small and different from his signature half one before continuing " I was wondering if you would like to go to the ball with me Cass?"

OutfitCassie gave a little smile as Charles complimented her broom skills. Although the boy hadn't seen his friend play very much - the pains of going to different schools were real - it still helped Cassie's mood to hear him say it. "Thanks," she said genuinely. "I needed that."
"Andrew... Your brother?" Charles hadn't mentioned his family to Cassie very much, but she was pretty sure he had an older brother whose name began with an A. Was this it?
Charlie's brother snapped his broom in half?! "Why'd he do that?!" Cassie blurted, outraged. "What did you do?" She was automatically assuming that Charles had done something to provoke this, because she simply couldn't comprehend that a boy would break his own brother's broom for no reason at all. There were people like that in the world, Cassie knew, but she fervently hoped that she would never run into one. She could stand up for herself, sure, but she was smart enough not to run face-first into trouble with no battle plan. "Shooting Star isn't too bad, though. I'm using a school broom. It's terrible, but at least I can fly on it, I guess." Always the optimist.
"Idiot, you don't need to buy me a broom!" She said, punching Charles' shoulder in a playful motion. "Mine works just fine, and I'm sure your family has better things to spend their money on anyway." Then, Cassie Heather realised something else. "In any case, I doubt they'd be very proud of you for spending money on a mudblood." The term meant nothing to Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin; in her mind, it was just a word meaning a witch or wizard born or non-magical parents. She knew it was supposed to be rude, but, by using the term herself, Cassie was trying to turn it into a regular word meaning nothing more than 'witch' did.
To be completely honest, the girl had no idea of the Allurings' stand on blood purism, but she knew that they were a wizarding family - and, in her experience, most wizarding families seemed to be stuck in the Stone Age. Or maybe, at best, Bronze.
"If I believed you, I'd think that that was the best offer of the century," the Beauxbatons girl joked, in response to Charles' offer about stopping flirting and fights. "But do I believe you?" She adopted a tragic expression and fixed her gaze on a point in the distance, stretching a hand out to it as if hypnotised. Cassie had always been a good actress; when she had lived in Godric's Hollow, she and her fellow Troopers would often put on little plays together. "To be or not to be, that is the question," she intoned dramatically, before turning back to Charles. "Shakespeare. It's a pretty famous Muggle quote." she added, in case Charles didn't recognise it.
Cassie listened as Charles asked who she was going to the ball with, and snickered. "Oh, yes, I have fifty suitors who I'm having to share my time with equally. They get five minutes of my time each, max."
And then Charles asked the wierdest question anyone had ever asked her. Cassie burst out laughing, honestly believing that it was a joke. "Charlie! Look, I appreciate that you're trying to cheer me up, but-"
And that was when she saw his face. He was smiling - but not an 'oh, look how funny I am' smile. It was a genuine smile, not one of mirth.
"Oh goodness, Charlie, you're not being serious?!" Another question exploded into her mind as she asked, quote seriously, "How come you're not asking a P?"
Charles knew what a P was - it was what Cassie often used to refer to people who fit three categories: pretty, posh and pureblood. She had discovered that Ps tended to be very popular at Beauxbatons, even if they weren't particularly nice. Heritage and looks, it often seemed to Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin, were everything in this world. She had neither, and didn't care one bit. But she was pretty sure Charles' family would, and maybe even Charles himself. Asking a muggleborn to a ball, and not even a particularly pretty one at that, wasn't something that purebloods usually did - or, at least, not as far as Cassie Heather knew.

Charles smiled at her reply and decided against saying anything, before hearing her question however and remembering that when they met he hardly talked about his family or brother which explains why she asked. Actually Cassie only heard of his brother's name when his French relative whom he was staying with and used to be a death eater accompanied his father to the wizarding streets of france where they found Charles. Charles remembered his father shouting at him and calling Cassie and her family multiple rude things before pulling Charles off with him where he was punished both in france and back home in England.
" Andrew is my brother yes and I didn't do anything, well technically I did do something since I was practicing outside during the holiday minding my business when my brother thought it would he funny to come out, take my broom, and snap it. I remember shouting at him after than my favorite part was getting punished for shouting while he got a free pass as always," Charles spoke and rolled his eyes a little as he truly hated his brother especially after his first year at Dumstrang where everything went downhill.
Charles heard her comment on brooms and smiled a bit as he spoke " guess your right and frankly they don't even know I have it so keeping it hidden as been nice to," Cassie already knew that his family was against him racing so no need to tell her again about it. Charles laughed a little at her comment and looked at her with a playful look in his eyes before saying " my family wouldn't be buy me broom not counting another," he than continued without laughing now " but anyway I plan on my family not knowing that I bought a broom so over the holiday I'm going to take some money out of the vault and buy a broom and again I would love to but you one to Cass," Charles than gave her puppy dog eyes before continuing " please Cass!"
Charles than burst out laughing as he landed down a bit before retaking his position as he heard Cassie speak and quickly added " it's true so you should believe me Cass," it was especially when he was around the girl. Charles than laughed at the quote a bit before saying " Shakespeare uh? Maybe I'll read it then and you should totally act. You'll make such any amazing actress Cass," Charles smiled at her a bit but then it melted it away with her coming questions about taking her to the ball.
Charles smiled lightly as spoke " I'm asking you because I consider you a friend Cass and your beautiful and Intelligent and honest and brave, why would I want to take someone like you?" Charles then rolled his eyes as be spoke again " no way I'm I taking a P, my family doesn't care what I do at the moment and the last thing I want is to ask someone arrogant girl who thinks she's beautiful."

Outfit"That's stupid," Cassie said matter-of-factly, in response to Charles' explanation of why his brother had snapped his broom.
Charles then said that he kept his broom hidden, causing Cassie Heather to laugh. "I'm a terrible liar, imagine me trying to keep that big a secret from my parents! They'd call me out after... huh, maybe five seconds? Ten, if I'm lucky!" The Durmstrang boy mentioned buying Cassie a broom again, and the girl just snorted. "Nope! Get me a Christmas present if you want, but nothing over, what, two galleons? Three? No broomsticks."
"Nah, no point reading Shakespeare. It's really old-fashioned, most of it doesn't make sense. But you could get an adaption! The stories are actually pretty cool, they're just very... clichéd." Cassie said with a thoughtful look on her face, before grinning as Charles complimented her on her acting skills. "Thanks! Back when I lived in England, me and my friends used to put on little productions sometimes. They were fun."
Compliment onslaught approaching. Warning, warning! Cassie blushed at all the compliments, even though she knew some of them were just opinions. Cassie wasn't generally considered beautiful, and though she was good in most Muggle lessons she failed miserably in most wizarding ones. Honest and brave, however, she would take. "Thanks, Charlie. But-" she paused. "Shouldn't you be wanting to go with someone who, you know, actually wants to go herself?"
