It was right after the weekly practice session when Aurelia made her way back to the castle and up to the girl's lavatory. Despite working on honing the grace and agility she already had much off, there were rare occasions where the bludgers hit home and Aurelia would find herself plummeting. The collision had left the girl with a few scrapes on her arms and shoulders. The accident could have been worse but the damage was not severe, nothing that would require her to go to the hospital wing for.

Aurelia entered the girls' and parked herself in front of the nearest sink. She would remove her robes to reveal the slightly bloodied sleeve of the shirt underneath. The fourteen year would take a glance warily for the presence of another before removing another lay of garment. It was the girls' lavatory, it should not matter much if she had her shirt on, yet Aurelia could not help but feel very self-conscious without. The fair skin of her back was a canvas, an collection of scars from over the years. Each little piece had a story to how they came to be.

In the eyes of the lovely girl, the scars were nothing imperfections, ugly and hideous that served as reminders and cruel lessons. Aurelia would angle her back to the mirror to inspect her scarred frame. The small of her back was a splotch of discolouration, reminiscence of an incendio cast at her in her first year. Along her left shoulder down to her elbow was another, the cause of the severing charm in her second year. There were also three peculiar marks that closely resembled that to bites, one along her forearm near her wrist, the other on her bicep and the third, her slender hand would come to brush the curtain of brown locks away from her neck to reveal the scar she would deem the most hideous. A dhampir's bite.

With a sigh, she would let her hair fall back to place and cascade down her shoulders. With the wave of her wand and incantation, the girl would cast scourgify to clean the blood and residue off the scrapes on her skin. The minor injuries had stopped bleeding, although she could use magic to heal, perhaps she would let nature do its work an leave the scrapes to heal by themselves.

It wasn’t often these toilets were overly busy. During the breakfast and dinner period, maybe, but apart from that, you’d get the odd few coming in but leaving just as quickly as they came. Falentra was sat within one of the stalls, having herself sat back in a chilled out position, whilst her foot was pressed against the door. She was reading up on a book of transfigurations. A place such as this was an odd one to be reading in, but it was the absolute best place to not have anyone disturb you. Or so she thought. Today, it would have been different.

The presence of a fellow student could have been heard from the other side of the room. Sounds of what she thought were painful grunts and shuffling of the clothes were soon to follow. What on earth was this person doing? The Slytherin was eager to know but really didn’t want the hassle of confronting another. Especially girls. She never understood them. She herself was the least girliest person around, so the similarities most girls would share— that helped them click was never really there for her.

Falentra would eventually give in to the temptations of what lied behind the door and quietly closed her book, sliding it into her bag which rested against the back wall of the stall. The hairs on her arms stood as she unlocked the door and stood beside it, eyeing the other from a distance. What stood before her was a beautiful lass which from the appearance, was around the same age as herself. At first, the scars didn’t catch her attention. It was more the aura Aurelia was giving off. Uneasy, yet the model-like student that stood before her managed to let off a that lovely, terrible presence.

“I thought I was bad for fighting, but you... well that’s somethin’ else ain’t it?” Falentra would now approach the girl, her arms folded as she looked the Gryffindor up and down, making it blatantly obvious that she was staring at her scars. There was no look of disgust, but rather one of being intrigued. “How’d you get all those buggers? Look painful as hell.” Yet she still managed to look so pretty. Of course, she wasn’t going to tell her that part. Instead she just stood there with an eyebrow raised, her eyes still staring at the scars. Though there would be one that she caught a glimpse of on her neck. It looked like a bite mark. The Slytherin’s face dropped and her complexion became whiter that it already was. “What’s... that on your neck? How’s you get that one?” It was obvious as to what it was, but she needed a clarification... just in case. The questions she flung at the stranger were just one after the other, not even giving her chance to answer the first one yet, let alone the second. Yet she stood with a serious look on her face, which held a hint of worry that she tried not to show.

At the sudden creak of a stall's door, Aurelia turned her head to the side only to notice a raven-haired girl standing right outside a stall with her dark hued judgmental eyes on her. It was fairly obvious to what she was immensely fascinated about, after all, it was not common for a girl her aged to have half as many marks as she did. Unsurprisingly, the questions and remarks came shortly after.

It was almost always that she received queries about her scars after one had the privilege to catch sight of her scars. It was the main reason why Aurelia always kept them hidden, whether it be caked over with make-up of sorts or covered with a layer of clothing. Self-consciousness was what many teenagers her age dealt with nowadays and Aurelia was one of them.

"It is quite impertinent to stare. I would rather you not." She informed girl, though her words were not ill-intended, there was a posh coldness that complimented the perfectly pronounced consonants. Aurelia was well aware that curiosity came naturally and the girl might not have been able to help herself, but it did make her slightly uncomfortable for her flaws to be looked upon at such a close vicinity. Not to mention that she was barely wearing any clothes.

Yet, Aurelia would answer the girl, like she always would when ever someone would ask about her scars. "Hogwarts can be a treacherous place. They did hurt, now they just make of little souvenirs, courtesy of the past." She explained as she shrugged her shirt back on, concealing the scars on her back from view.

Unfortunately, Aurelia was slightly reluctant to answer the girl's next question. She did not exactly ask in a politely manner, more as if she was demanding for an answer. But the look in the Slytherin's eyes, although the concern was very subtle told her that she knew more than she was letting and Aurelia wanted to know what she already knew. "What do you think the cause was?" Aurelia would now counter the girl's question with one of her own.

A tone such as her own was enough to make most feel an instant hatred towards them or at least a obvious sign that they disliked them, but having recieved that exact same tone from the Gryffindor caught the attention of the Slytherin. There was no sign of the acknowledgment, but she was sure to remember how she were to word herself around this one. She didn’t fear her and would happily continue to speak her mind, but it seemed Aurelia was quite sharp with her tongue too, and had more common sense than most the children here. Despite it all, the response Falentra received couldn’t help but make her smile inside, though her expressions remained blank.

Not long after would the girl dress herself, quicker than the normal person would. In response, Falentra would turn her head and lower it briefly to the side, giving the girl a bit more privacy. “My bad.” She apologised. Short and well, not so much sweet, but it was an apology. Something she didn’t do all too often.
Her head turned back once more after she continued to talk about her scars. There wasn’t too much detail given, but with the glance she got of them, it was enough to believe how painful they must have been. She couldn’t help but notice the uncomfortableness through her movement and choice of words that followed. Falentra wasn’t going to comfort the girl but the scars to her weren’t ugly at all. Of course, it was a lot easier to see it that way when you aren’t the one covered in them. That was probably the only reason why she didn’t want to pester the poor girl with further questions on them. Instead, she moved herself from the wall she was leant on and back to the toilets she originally came from, grabbing her bag. There, she would stand with her back to the Gryffindor when questioned with the same she had asked. “Aha..” She gave her head a shake and let a smirk creep its way onto her lips before taking a deep breath and turning to walk back in the direction of Aurelia. “Looks like someone was hungry.” She joked and probably shouldn’t have. It was one of those times were as soon as you said something, you regretted the choice of words. Falentra didn’t hurry to correct herself, but her expressions became somewhat awkward. She did however want to ask who had done it, but the timing was too soon. The girl seemed like a bit of a closed book anyway. Like herself, she knew that wasn’t going to be easy to get access to.

Moments later she would let out a slight sigh before brushing her hand through her own hair. It was much longer now and something she wasn’t used to maintaining so easily. A few tugs with her fingers and they would run smoothly through to the ends. “A dhampir did that to ya. Only know two of them ‘ere myself.” There were sure to be more, but none of which she knew about. Keagan didn’t seem the type to harm a fly, whereas Howard, well he had a temper but never did it cross her mind that it’d be him. Though the thought of it happening made her stomach ache. Quickly, she changed the topic back to the fresh wounds that had blood seeping through the clothes lightly, the odd blotch dropping onto the sink before her. “Can I ask how you did that one? Obviously fresh so...” She paused, her words not really matching up to the others. Her vocabulary was much more clearer than her own. So rather than continuing, she would simply pull out a clean cloth from her robe and hold it out to her. “ ‘ere. Might help stop the bleeding if you don’t plan on using your wand anytime soon.”

The comment was not one that flustered the girl, in fact, her statement was true to how her scar came about, which surprisingly led to a smile to tug at the corner of her lips. Indeed, someone had been hungry, hungry for blood. In the next few moments, it became clear that this girl knew what the cause of her scar was. Not many knew of the peculiar creatures of the wizarding world. Even Aurelia herself was oblivious to the minority races until she herself was about 13 years of age.

At the offer, Aurelia took the cloth from the girl's outstretched hand. "Thank you." She muttered before pressing the fabric onto her shoulder even though the flow of blood has already ceased, better be safe than sorry. "Quidditch training, I was knocked of the broom. As you have seen, I have encountered far worse injuries." She explained.

However, the girl's previous question would not not be ignored and Aurelia would reply, "Your deduction on the scar is correct. Last year, I was attacked by a hungry dhampir in the owlery. Almost killed me." Subconsciously, her hand would wander to rub the nape of her neck as if remembering the experience.

"It was an absolutely frightening experience but I would not put it all on him." She would add. Pausing for a moment as she lowered her gaze to her feet as she as flashes of the incident surfaced. Blood, panic and pain. It was only a short moment before she continued. "He was a new dhampir, in fact, only recently turned. Uncommon, but it happens. He could not control his thirst for blood I suppose."

"Then again, he almost drained every ounce of my blood."

Falentra would nod slightly in response to her mention on Quidditch and how the cuts were nothing in comparison to her old ones. She must have been a tough lass. That or she was simply somehow immune to reacting to minor injuries. Her tolerance to pain must have improved over the years going off all that she had injured. The Slytherin couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for her. Though her expression wouldn’t show it, she would continue to take in everything the girl had said and was already begin to make an opinion of her, and it hadn’t even been 10 minutes since their meeting.

Having brought back the sudden mention of the Dhampir who had gave those nasty scars to Aurelia, Falentra couldn’t help but tense ever so slightly and swallow hard. She hasn’t given a name, so really Falentra wasn’t 100% sure who it could have been but Howard defiantly had came straight to her mind. Was it bad for her to think of him so quickly? She knew he wasn’t all ‘good’, but like before...she never thought he would do such a thing. “Huh..” She mumbled under her breath in disappointment whilst trying to take in what the Gryffindor was saying. It was a lot, and the girl before seemed slightly uncomfortable when talking of it too.

Falentra wanted to apologies, but why did she need to. It had been done now and nothing she was to say could have changed that. It was pointless but it was just having that thought, that possibility of it being Howard made her feel uneasy... like she was somehow keeping something from the girl. Was she herself in danger? Should she say something? “No..” She whispered under her breath. It was only then she realised she spoke out aloud. Startled, the girl glanced at Aurelia and frowned. “I’m sorry... uhm...” It was clearly obvious that the front she had up had broken once going into a deep thought. Her expressions were clearly readable and Falentra knew Aurelia spotted it a mile away.

There was no chance Falentra was going to let this drop now. It may of been an uncomfortable topic for them both, but she needed answers. If it were to be Howard, she wanted to know why. “Who did it to you then. It’s.. important for me to know.” Her tone would come across demanding, but it was nothing personal against her. She just needed to know, so she could rule Howard out of the subject.“Please.”
