This was not going well for the students at all... Despite Henry's rather cocky taunts directed towards the professor's team, he soon became one of two students to fall off the rope completely as the troupe of (admittedly, very weak) students were dragged closer and closer to their demise. He had certainly dug them all a bit of a hole here - one which he wasn't helping to get them out of. Some kids in the younger group seemed to have already given up, doing very little in the way of even attempting to pull their own weight, seemingly zoning out altogether. Tina gritted her teeth. She was determined to not become one of those people, though her resolve was wavering, and she wasn't doing much in the way of helping with what little muscle she had.

She tried to block out the noise of the two older boys behind her, not wanting to entertain them any longer (they were mostly ignoring her anyway). Willow, who seemed to have taken pity on the lot of them having watched their pathetic attempts become even more pathetic, came over, shouting her encouragements. They didn't fall deaf on Tina's ears, and she wrapped her hands around the rope more firmly. They were having bad luck; that was all.

Well this was not looking good at all, not one bit. One of the boys behind her continued to shout insults at the professors, even after he fell flat on his bum, providing absolutely no help that round. What in the world was he doing? "Ey! Get off your butt, take a break from the taunts, and help us, will ya? I wanna win this thing!" Starlee said, looking back at him. How in the world was a firstie like her pulling better than most of the boys around her? Maybe it was the determination and ambition she had. I mean, she certainly wasn't going to give up yet. There was still plenty of time to turn the tides.

She noticed that another girl had fallen as well and Starlee couldn't help but release an exasperated sigh. 'What is going on here!? We need to get it together!' she thought. It was then Starlee saw a glimmer of hope. Willow was coming back over to join them! "Yes! Willow!!!" Starlee yelled at the girl, her excitement and competitiveness flashing in her eyes. This might be exactly what they needed.

Starlee also heard a voice from behind her, from the other Slytherin boy that hadn't fallen, cheering someone on. "Ye go girl!" Wait a second, did he mean her? He was looking directly at her, so he must have meant it! Plus, to be honest, no other girl was pulling as hard as she was, she thought logically. She looked back and gave him a smile, hoping that she wouldn't let him, or the rest of the students on the team, down in the next round. She tried to tighten her grip even more, readying herself to try and turn this game around.

After that embarrassing fall, Nell needed to step up her game. In that case, the whole entire student team did. But, there was a very small chance that the students would win. Nell kept pulling with all her might, soon realizing that her weak pulling really wasn't doing that much. She sighed with defeat, and felt a glimmer of hope when she saw Willow come back from the professor team. A bright smile spread across the second year's face. She didn't show it it physically, but mentally? Nell was jumping for joy in her head! She felt a pump of sudden adrenaline and pulled as hard as ever on the old, tattered rope. She had to help the student team win. Not because she needed to prove herself or all of that, she just wanted the team as well as herself to have that satisfaction of success. She took a big step back and grinned. She hadn't fallen this time - finally. he adjusted her grip and took another step back. This was going quite well for the girl, and Nell hoped she wouldn't jinx it. Nell put her hands on farther up on the rope and pulled back again, paired with another large step. Maybe the students would win.

"Amis, Ami. It means friends!"
Ami paused, squinting at @Caradoc Browne with a certain degree of distrust and uncertainty. "So Mario isn't talking to me?" she wondered aloud, tugging absent-mindedly on the rope. "Huh..." Maybe you really did learn something new every day! "I thought my name would mean something cooler than friend, though..." Sighing as she heaved her weight against the rope, her head was spinning as she tried to process this new information.

Someone else caught her eye, however, and certainly not for the first time during this event. @Hjørdis Jensen really didn't seem to be pulling with all her might, and certainly seemed to be having second thoughts about the whole thing. "General Jensen!" she called, a renewed vigor behind her tugging quite evident, "Let's end these students! I'll... I'll paint your nails and do your hair later if we win!" That was a good offer, right? Ami, despite her rough and tumble nature and more masculine clothing and attitude, was quite good at beauty-related activities, probably as a side-effect from helping her mother with such activities growing up. "Let's do this, professors!" she called out to the rest of her team, grunting as she attempted to tighten her grip, aiming to take just a few more steps back.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Willow switching sides, and she sighed internally. She knew that the younger Hufflepuff wanted things to be as equal and fair as possible, and most likely thought that the students needed a little extra help. But if the rest of the adults kept... well, chatting instead of pulling, maybe Willow needn't have switched after all.

Caradoc laughed at Ami's disappointment. "I'm not saying your name means that per se... Though why would that be bad?" He tilted his head a bit to smile towards the young Hufflepuff. "People call me Cara for short. It means friend as well." Tugging the rope, Caradoc would grit his teeth as he absent-mindedly tried to follow their conversation. Spotting Jensen, he narrowed his gaze. "Get your ass back in line, General. You're letting down your team!" His ear fell on Ami's barter. A smirk started playing on his lips, Miss Procoppio really was a smart badger.

"If we win..." He began as he locked eyes with Jensen. "... I'll shut my mouth for the rest of the day." His left eyebrow instantly flew up as his smirk grew wider. There would be nothing else she would love beyond that. A Caradoc Browne that was unable to speak for an entire day. No singing, not even humming. Just peace and quiet. That had to be tempting to her. He tried way too hard to be his annoying little self all day just to get her to glare in his direction. "Your call, Jensen. What's it going to be?" With a grin on his face he shifted back to pulling. "Alright folks, PULL!"

If you're reading this... You're awesome.

Their arms started to get aching from tugging the rope. So far for the students side were not what the green eyes hoped. Maybe they underestimated how strong the professors are.

Good thing Cash is not so cocky like Henry. When Henry fell into the grassy ground, Cash looked at him with disbelieve while still make a strong stance to keep their balance.

"Ey! Get off your butt, take a break from the taunts, and help us, will ya? I wanna win this thing!"One of the first year shouted at Henry. Cash can not hold back their laughter. "That is the spirit, lass"They shout back. Their Cuban accent seeped out.

"Get up!"Cash demanded Henry. "Did your arms asleep there, mate?"Cash taunted Henry. "I thought you are strong like how you taunting the professors"They playfully mocked their housemates. Cash heard the discussion between Caelan and Henry to jinxed one of the professors.

"Whomever you will aimed at, counted me out"They told both Caelan and Henry. When Willow switched team, there is a glimmered of hope that maybe just maybe the students side could win this round.

For someone with small body, Willow has a loud voice. When Willow demanded everyone to pull, her shouted ringing in their ears because now Willow is the anchor for the students side of the rope.

"You heard the boss lady,"They chimed in. "Pull with all your strength and for Merlin's sake dig your heels to the ground, make your stance stronger. No more falling off! We need to win this round. On 3. 1.. 2.. 3.. PULL!"They shouted.

The team of professors and prefects continued to hold the upper hand. Not that it was too surprising, as there were adults against children. Though, as the student team seemed to need some more support, Willow switched over to help them out. River looked at her impressively as she swapped. There was no doubt she’d rather give up a win than leave the game unfair to begin with.
She listened as the professors kept on conversing further up the line, perhaps if they continued that way, the students would be able to catch up? There were definitely some of the people on her team that seemed way more busy talking than actually giving any force into pulling the rope at all.
River took a tiny step back as she hauled the rope one more time. Almost slipping slightly on the ground beneath her as she dug her heel into the dirt beneath her feet, hoping to withstand any tugs in the opposite direction. Her fingers sorely changed her grip on the rope to a tighter one, and she kept her arms strong even though they were tiring out from this suddenly excessive pulling. All she wanted was to get through this thing without falling to the ground.

Jean-Papi's efforts didn't seem to be in vain. Another round was won for the Professors and how else could it be? It seemed the adults clearly outmatched the students no matter the quantity of them. That much was clear as he noticed one of the students that had been helping on their side walked over to the enemy team. The Nurse laughed a hearty laugh at this sight. He was merely glad they were winning and that the students weren't humiliating them.

JP's smile quickly disappeared like snow in the sun as he heard one of the students called him out and threw some remarks about his moustache. You like that? As if to indicate what he was talking about he carressed his moustache. T'inquiète pas, mon ami.* I'm sure it'll take you a good few years to grow some hair on your upper lip, but once that happens you won't have to be envious of me anymore. You'll have one yourself! But for now I'm afraid you'll have to stay and bask in the glory of my marvelous moustache. Besides instead of trying to rack your brain for these very disappointing insults you should more worry about the game instead of letting that rope slip through your hands. Just like that inevitable victory you are trying to bargain for. The newly appointed nurse gave the student a wink as he renewed his efforts to pull on the rope. It was really digging into the palm of his hands right now.

*T'inquiète pas, mon ami. = Don't worry, my friend.

Another tug was tugged as Scarlett and her measly muscles yanked the rope. She felt stronger though, as if the experience of tugging had actually strengthened her arms rather than weakened them. With all her extra effort and hopeful motivation however, the teachers were still winning. It looked like their adult biceps combined could beat the student's flimsy guns.

"Yeah, I'm great," nodded Scarlett as Auri addressed her. Sarcasm crept into her voice, but only a little. "How - how about you?"

She took short, quick breaths as she continued to pull, now feeling the over-powering force of the professors and a few prefects.

"Lettie," panted Scarlett, turning to Pierre. "I feel like the no-nicknames rule has gone out of the window now."

Pierre still had enough breath to shout a loud word of encouragement, like many others. Scarlett would do this normally, but anymore talking and she would die of lack of oxygen. Scarlett glimpsed the sight of a girl who looked her age - second-year. Perhaps her most prominent feature would be her bubblegum-pink hair. Anyway, the girl quickly switched over to the student side, shouting more encouragement, more motivation. Gosh. If this girl was turning to the students' side, things must be dire.

Scarlett simply pulled the rope harder.

Knuckles whitened as the big hands pulled the rope ever tighter. Another round was won and Gargott wouldn't let his grip falter now! As suddenly he overheard the remark of the Slytherin boy. Out loud nudging his peers to start casting spells at him.

A hearty laugh escaped the big man. "My dear boy! Am I that much of a threat that you're thinking of cheating hmmm?! For all that you are doing is wasting more and more energy in talking instead of..." With that, he once again pulled with all his might as he heard Professor Browne call out to pull once more.

Gargott had to admit although he wasn't much of a sports person, he was genuinely surprised that he was experiencing joy in this. Maybe it was due to helping his fellow colleagues or maybe it was the joyfully banter that was being displayed between the Professors and the students. But whatever it was it was good. The orange moustache trembling as it showed how much energy the stout Keeper was displaying. "Come on lads and lasses! Let's bring this victory home! We don't wanna lose against these ragtags now do we?! HEAVE I TELL YA WITH ALL OF YER MIGHT!!!"
