Why, this game was beggining to be complicated.

May didn't exacly know what was going on, but Ami got all of a sudden mad with Henry Knight and took his wand, making it all a bloody chaos. Zykeal Lane was humming a tune and May didn't caught the smirk playing on his lips as he twirled his wand, for she had just bobbed for a apple at that moment.

Well, May thought, If anyone needs to say sorry to me my owls are open I guess. she shrugged, and bobbed for a apple, hopefully good.

It also seemed like Callie was going to win, and May wanted at least to be third in the game. Søren was ok, she guessed, and would probably stay second. But Zykeal? That arrogant boy seemed to full of himself to want to play apple bobbing, so he only watched. Suspicious.

The water of the pool smashed across her face as she bobbed for a apple, making her feel icy cold and the urge of running to a fireplace was great. But chocolate frogs? Yum.

At least this was worth it, even thought she puked slugs and fighter off with the person she hated most in the world.

Callie didn't at all think the game was uninteresting so when Ami brought up the idea slapping her she found herself quite confused. "Do we have to slap you? You seem far too nice to slap! And kind of scary..I have the strength of a toddler you know!" She trailed off, having been reminded of the fact Ami wasn't someone to be trifled with. The way she handled people like Zykeal and Henry was proof enough of that. Even if Callie wasn't entirely convinced that Henry wasn't up to something. Thankfully the boy seemed to have given up entirely on the ordeal which Callie seemed to find slightly amusing. Was all of this really worth throwing a small temper tantrum over? Was apple bobbing really that serious? All of this was meant to be fun! Not full of drama and intrigue like some of the movies Callie watched so often.

Sadly since Henry seemed to have stormed off Callie set her suspicions of the boy aside, providing ample opportunity for the boy to take her unawares if the rock managed to whack her in the head. Entirely unaware of the projectile thrown at her head or of the intervention of Zykeal, Callie opted to bob for yet another apple to keep up her winning streak. Afterall she was in the lead! No point in giving up and letting it all go to waste.

Man, Miranda was seriously clueless to things going on around her, although in her defense, she did fall face first into the tub of water. And it was wet.

She gratefully accepted the sodden jacket-towel from the red-head, and did her best to dry herself off, although her mostly fruitless efforts (literally) made her miss almost everything else that was going on. She didn't notice the two who successfully bobbed their apples, nor did she pay any attention to Zykael, who was doing nothing but watching and singing an absurd tune under his breath. Most shockingly, she even failed to notice Henry casting a spell at May, which thankfully missed her, but resulted in him losing his wand to the moderator of their little game.

There was really only one thing she noticed.

"Slap you?" she echoed doubtfully, her face a mask of shock. What kind of reward was that? The only positive point was getting two bonus points, which would at least help her catch up a bit faster - if that was even possible anymore. Argh...but slapping someone? Couldn't it be a spell, instead? She'd never hit anyone in her life before. "Is that...is that a good idea?"

Miranda decided to put that thought from her mind and continue to bob for more apples. She could worry about that later.

Søren could have never expected to get much entertainment out of an activity as mundane as apple bobbing. This was supposed to be a simple, quick game to liven the spirits of his fellow second years, but he could tell that things had been devolving rather quickly and hitting a boiling point in the present round. He imagined that Ami had fire within her, but he preferred to never experience it. Somewhat thankful that another boy was on the receiving end of her tirade, Søren was conflicted over him getting his wand taken away. Though, he supposed, it was the boy’s fault for getting caught in the first place. Had he been sneaky enough, Søren would have probably been impressed with the boy. Using an ulterior path to win was the Slytherin way. Hell, if Søren was actually good at casting spells, he would probably try the same thing.

The boy’s reaction to being caught caused Søren to shake his head and return to searching for an apple. Seeing one just at the surface of the water, he dipped in and clutched it easily, proud that only minimal water made it to the skin of his face. Was this a newfound skill? What a useless skill it was. But if it did help him to win some galleons, then who was he to judge.

The rest reacted to Ami’s slapping suggestion, but Søren knew he would never partake. Hitting women was not on his to do list for the day. Yes, even women who mercilessly shoulder-checked him into oblivion. He could Flipendo her or something, but the boy just preferred to stick to the task at hand and continue bobbing.

@Henry Knight really didn't seem to be in a good mood this game, as he marched up to Ami and demanded his wand back. Rolling her eyes slightly, she relented, handing it back to the Slytherin with an exasperated sigh. She shook her head in disappointment as he stormed off, and while she still tried to keep an upbeat expression on her face, it was clear that the day's events were really taking a toll on her emotional state.

Little did she know, things were about to get much worse; Henry had decided to try and hit poor @Callie Jensen with a rock, although it seemed that he had missed entirely, as it arced towards @Søren Silverwood, before a flash of magic hit it square on. The rock seemed to wobble slightly in the air, before tumbling to the ground, and Ami turned to glance at @Zykeal Lane. "Good shot," she said grudgingly, before turning to scream at Henry, "If you want to leave, leave. But don't hang around and cause trouble."

Speaking of Callie, her lucky streak seemed to have ended as she came up empty-handed, the apple slipping from her mouth at the last second, tumbling back towards the pool of water with a gentle splash. Next to her, @May Moonstar proved to be successful, despite all of the deterrents that had been thrown her way earlier in the game. @Miranda Everest seemed to be doing well, resurfacing with another good apple to finally counteract her rotten one. Søren, once again with his eagle-eye, quickly bobbed for another good apple, making it act seem quite effortless.

What impressed her most, however, were the second years' manners. Apparently none of them wanted to take her up on her offer of physical violence, which she internally commended them for. Maybe the second years weren't as terrible as she had originally thought them to be...

Clapping her hands together as she decided that it was just about time for them to wrap things up, she called out, "Last thirty seconds! You're almost done, guys!"

Points will be worth DOUBLE this round.

Henry Knight: Leaves with his wand (free action because I'm nice). Attempts to throw rock at Callie (crit fail). Rock is redirected to Søren (posting order, 6). Against, rock attempts to hit him (crit fail vs 21). BUT WAIT-

Zykeal Lane: Casts Freezing Charm (21) against at the rock (17). Rock seems unaffected for the most part as he should've used Arresto Momentum; Immobulus is generally used for living targets, but regardless, the rock isn't hitting anyone today.

If you choose to BOB, you will bob for an apple like normal. I will roll for success in locating an apple (accuracy [DC 10]) and lifting it out of the water (strength [DC 9]). Then, I will roll a d100 to see if you get a rotten apple ([DC >10]). If you choose to KICK, you will forgo a turn and attempt to kick someone (please specify who). I will roll for accuracy against your target's evasion, and then roll for damage against their stamina to see if it affects their performance. No one will be badly hurt during this event (see: I will not be deducting health points).

• As can be seen here, you may improvise some other action that is not listed if you want. However, that means you will be subject to my judgment, discretion, and "house-rules" (as I've heard it been called on Critical Role).

_{I literally had no creatively this round so.... have fun with the harmless prank Henry is trying to pull}

Callie didn't exactly plan to go for an impromptu bath in the pool of water yet she found herself within it nonetheless. After dragging herself back up out of the water Callie spat out some water and let out a rather large laugh. "Well that didn't go to plan!" She exclaimed only to notice the whole issue surrounding the rock which missed Callie entirely. Her suspicions of Henry were well founded afterall and Callie silently told herself off for letting her guard down. She knew he was up to something! Stupid Henry! Hopefully he'd leave soon rather than cause anymore trouble. Callie knew better than to hold her breath though. Henry seemed to enjoy being the human equivalent of a dirty sock. Sometimes pranks were funny but this wasn't one of those occasions. Instead Callie only found herself rather bored and mildly annoyed at Henry's antics. Perhaps he was only doing so to impress Zykeal, it seemed pretty likely given from what Callie had witnessed.

However Callie didn't want to let the mere presence of the hopelessly annoying Henry Knight get in the way of apple bobbing. Afterall there was only thirty seconds left and still everything to play for! She couldn't let one measly failed attempt get her down! So Callie went steaming ahead with another attempt at fishing out an apple, largely ignoring Henry's enduring presence.

Easily spotted, easily grabbed. Another two points in the bag, and from the looks of things, Søren was somehow doing well. He was quite impressed with himself. Being so good at something he never tried before was a great achievement for him. He was used to practicing everything behind closed doors. Magic, athletics, flying. It was rare for him to try new things so out in the open. He was still afraid of the failure, but last year’s egg race served to make this game just a bit easier. Maybe his nerves deterred him from performing well in the egg race, but the experience clearly opened up his mind.

He was surprised to see another person fall into the tub. Unaware that he was tied for the lead, he did not experience the relief of watching his direct competitor stumble right before the finish line. He could only feel sympathy for her, having been in her shoes. The cold water was anything but pleasant. He knew the shock to her system would be uncomfortable. And provide him with a bigger chance of winning. The gap between the prizes of first and second weren’t terrible. He didn’t need the five extra chocolate frogs. He barely collected the cards, anyways. But the bragging rights of first place? Priceless.

Water.

Miranda found herself thinking the word like an expletive, even as she resurfaced with another perfectly good apple clamped in her jaws. She spat it into her hand, then deposited it into her bowl, which looked quite empty and pitiful compared to some of the others. While Miranda didn't stop to count exactly, it was obvious she was nowhere near the lead.

Even though it seemed like on of the front runners, her friend Callie, hadn't succeeded in lifting an apple that round, judging from her lack of anything in her hands or mouth. But if Miranda wasn't used to the other girl's perpetual cheerfulness she would have assumed, judging from her wide smile, that Callie had done well in her last try.

However, even though the results were sadly evident, Miranda still inhaled deeply and prepared herself for another try. She'd done okay so far, and even if she wasn't going to win, Miranda wasn't the type to go down easily. So instead of retreating to safety and dryness, like Henry and Zykael seemed to be doing, seeing as neither had bobbed recently, she dunked her under the water again, with much more gusto than it was due. She'd go down kicking, that was for sure.

Ami really just wanted to run face-first into a tree at this point. Why? Why did @Henry Knight feel the need to just do this? The fourth year's jaw dropped open in stunned shock as the tub in front of @Callie Jensen shot out from under her. Thankfully, instead of faceplanting into the ground or getting her shins smashed by the pretty heavy tub, she managed to step back just in time as the tub slid across the grass, stopping at Henry's feet.

"I- okay. You know what, whatever," she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose in obvious disappointment. "I'm not gonna even try to understand why you- whatever." Making her way over to Callie, she put a gentle hand on her shoulder, asking in concern, "Are you okay? Yes? Great, fantastic. Good talk, good talk."

@Søren Silverwood, on the other hand, seemed intent on going out with a bang. Riding off the high of having so many wonderful successes previously, he seemed to be pretty confident going in, and for good reason. The Slytherin emerged triumphantly with another shiny red apple between his teeth, earning him a bit of applause from Ami. "You're definitely way better at this than running with an egg," she commented off-handedly, grinning at him.

And finally, @Miranda Everest resurfaced successfully, with a crisp apple in her mouth. After a few missteps, she seemed to have finally found her groove, putting her two points ahead of May and solidly in third place.

Realizing that they really needed to wrap this up, Ami clapped her hands together loudly, before glancing around the different bowls at the second years' feet, taking a quick count of the apples in the various bowls. "Alright, uh..." she mumbled, still trying to figure out who technically had the most points. "Okay, you there..." she said, awkwardly gesturing to Miranda, realizing that she didn't actually know many of the second years' names. "'Grats on third place! Here. Prizes. Yay." Ami deposited a stack of chocolate frog boxes and a galleon in the Ravenclaw's arms, before grabbing more... uh, loot to give to the other students. "Blondie, congrats on second... you were doing really well! Until the tub thing. But good job!" She handed Callie some more chocolate frogs, as well as three galleons, before rounding on Søren, grinning at the familiar Slytherin. "Well, looks like you won something!" she said cheerfully, handing him the grand prize. "Nice job, kid."

Reaching into her school bag, she glanced at the other competitors with a gentle smile. "I've also got some Bertie Bott's for those who want some. Y'all are free to go!"
