She should have been doing it. Already with only a month into the new school year she had two rather big falls from a tree that landed her in the Hospital Wing. That was out of foolishness though. She should have known the trees in the second grove outside the school grounds were not good for climbing but sometimes, despite her being as social as she was, it was nice to get away from it all and literally above all the noise.
This particular evening wasn't so much about getting away, but rather to get higher. She wanted to see the sun lowering on the Great Lake and the landscape of the Scottish Highlands all around. It was beautiful there and certainly was something she thought more students would want to partake in if they found they had the time.
Being alone, she stayed smart and stuck to the branches she knew were sturdy. She had so much experience climbing trees through her years that it upset her that she had two falls in a month. She really could do better.
In her hand she had the journal/notebook that she had been using to write an old...friend of hers. Half tempted to tear out the pages on by own and let them drift down to the grass below and half tempted to throw it into the lake, she just held it in her hands, not able to decide. Maybe she should just hang onto it...just in case.
"I HATE YOU!" she shouted, voicing her anger at ...again, not sure. Maybe the boy she had been writing the letters to that would never be read. Maybe to herself for still hanging on.

It was early but not as early as he liked,
Charles Alluring was running around the black lake getting in his warm ups, something he normally does at home or Dumstrang for broom racing. The boy left his uniform in his room for the time being as he was wearing a athletic pair of black shorts, a Dumstrang long sleeve shirt, and a pair of running trainers or sneakers, not expecting to fine anyone else on his run that morning.
Charles remembered days he wished he was at Hogwarts but now being there and seeing the good and bad of the school, the boy no longer wished to attend as saw something true about all the wizarding schools. They all seemed to be alike in one way or another, so why should it matter what school someone attended because in the end it wasn't like they were going to the best school. Still one reason Charles liked Dumstrang was he could jinx anyone at anyone mostly and avoid trouble, he fondly remembered dueling with his older brother after hours at Dumstrang ever through they hated one another's guts they would still duel one another.
Charles wasn't that bummed out that his older brother didn't join him on the trip, he knew Andrew wouldn't make the cut because while he seemed like a perfect student, he jinxed too many of the younger year's so he had to stay behind. Charles technically also shouldn't have been there but he was on the broom racing team so that basically gave him a free pass to attend not that it been much fun yet which allowed Charles to oddly miss his brother's company on their morning runs or unintentional duels.
Charles just past a bend of the lake where a tree stood and decided to stop for a few minutes to stretch,
Charles started on his stretches and breathing before he thought he heard rustling in the tree by him.
Believing it was just a bird or rodent of some kind, he ignored it that was before he were the shouting.
Charles looked up at the tree and thought he saw a girl or at least a human being nestled in the tree which allowed him to mutter to himself in Russian " weird," Charles then crossed to the front and saw that there was someone there and it was indeed a girl.
Charles had a slight feeling that they seemed to want to be alone but for the boy who depended on social interactions he spoke with a British and Russian accent " hello there miss, could I ask why your in the tree?"

She looked down to him, having not seen him there and was a bit startled but it didn't throw off her balance or anything like that. Alina smiled. Not recognizing the face would be one indication that maybe he was one of the guest students but his accent certainly gave it away. She welcomed the interruption from her thoughts.
"I don't know, can I ask why you're NOT in a tree?" she smiled again and her tone showed she was only being playful, not mocking. She stuffed her journal into her bag and zipped it up before making her way back down, branch by branch, to the ground below where the boy stood. "Sometimes you get a different perspective up in a tree...both literally and figuratively."
And this is why people thought Alina Rosier was weird. She could be, at least in some aspects, but to her she just had a different way of looking at the world and that wasn't weird, it was wonderful. When it worked right.
She took a good look at him, trying to figure out his features, trying to guess what school he was from. Certainly not Beauxbatons. She was native French herself and his accent didn't sound of that. "Alina. Alina Rosier," she introduced herself as she always did in James Bond-like fashion only she didn't realize it because she wouldn't have any idea who, in literature or movies, who James Bond was. It was pure coincidence.
"Hogwarts Student. Hufflepuff. Second Year."

Charles smiled up at the girl as she questioned why he wasn't in the a tree before stating that being in a tree gives a different perspective then being in the ground, one that Charles agreed with as he spoke " I can agree with you about that, being in the air on a broom feels different or calming almost compared to being on the ground," Charles then smiled at her as she climbed down in the tree in which he spoke in french " are you from beauxbatons or Hogwarts? Given you accent?"
Charles then heard her answer as she introduced herself as Alina Rosier; a second year Hogwarts student in hufflepuff. Charles smiled as he gave a small bow toward her before saying " a pleasure to meet you Alina," Charles then gave a half smile before introducing himself " Charles Alluring of Dumstrang institute," a pause before he continued " I am a third year at the school and a member of the broom racing team."
Charles looked across the lake before looking back at Alina and again with his signature half smile spoke in a mix of a British and Russian accent " so what brought you out here Alina?"

"Pleasure to meet you, Charles," she said doing her customary curtsy as she did when first meeting people. She understood his French perfectly as it was her native language, and the one most spoken back at the Rosier household. "I'm a Hogwarts student. Currently living in the Windlesham Village area of Surrey, England but originally from France," which explained the accent well.
She looked him over and wondered if he was just from Durmstrang as an exchange student or maybe if he was a racer or duellist. She couldn't really tell from his build. "I like it here at the Lake. It seems to...know what you're thinking," she said quietly. Normally when she told people things like this they checked out. They didn't like her thoughts on the lake. They didn't like that she talked to the portraits. They didn't like her peppy and perky personality.
"Sometimes I can come here and it's calm and tranquil, the water is still and one can really reflect on all the things they need to give some thought to. Other times, the water seems especially dark and the clouds seem looming and I can really focus on the strong emotions I'm feeling." She watched the dark water, rippling with small surface waves from the wind.

Charles listened to Alina speak about where she lived and nodded when she said she was originally from france, not his favorite place since the first time he went to France he was forced into staying with a relative there but it was the place where he met what it seemed like his first friend there so that was a major plus. Charles smiled toward the girl as he spoke French, " originally from france you say so would you like to continue this conversation in english or French, Alina?"
Charles gave her a simple half smile as he spoke " I'm from Durham, England and I have sadly lived there all my life," when he finished he than heard Alina speak about the lake allowing him to looked it over himself and nod. He wasn't about to judge her for her strange liking but deep inside him he was judging her, he judged everything whether he like it or not.
Charles let his eyes drift back toward her as she began to speak again and smiled as he let her words ring throughout his ears providing a question in his head one that he would say, " yes the lake definitely gives off a feeling of peacefulness and tranquility, I can see what attracts you to this spot," he finished but would continued a few minutes later " however I can't stop myself from thinking why you don't attend beauxbatons? With being from france and knowing French, isn't it the better school?"

"Either is fine with me," she smiled. "We speak French back home at our house in the Windlesham Village of Surrey but I always speak English here at Hogwarts. Probably would be a bit odd if I didn't so...I suppose English it is," she smiled. Plus, it was kind of interesting to hear some of the exchange students trying to pronounce the words. Not in a 'make-fun-of-them' kind of way, but as a way to experience the different culture.
"I'm out here because I like being out here to think. The Courtyard is always packed and even sometimes along the grounds outside the castle can be. Out here it's just more open...the mind can wander a bit. I've been thinking of my family a lot," mainly her father.
"So broom racing, huh?" she was rather fascinated by that "My boyfriend is on the Hogwarts team. He's a Gryffindor." But the chances of them having spoken with each other was probably pretty slim. "I bet its a rush, going fast and all," she glanced up in the sky, wondering for a moment exactly how high someone could go up in the air on a broom. "I bet you've got to be really good at flying." Control of the broom, slight motions to go faster than another.
She sighed. "Personally, I'm scared to be on a broom."

Charles listened to the girl speak about speaking french at her home but English at Hogwarts so their conversation would remain in english which bothered Charles a bit since he already had to speak English at his home so given the chance that he could speak another language, the boy gladly took it since he preferred it that way anyway. Needless Charles still didn't mind speaking in english since he did green up with the language and to others opinions, his english was pretty good sometimes even better then his other languages.
Charles speaking with a perfect British accent spoke " if you prefer English then English is fine with me to, I do speak it at my home in Durham to," Charles smiled at the girl for a few moments before commenting on her ask few words sticking with his British accent for a bit " your family? Problems at home then? Which if you don't mind of me asking but if you are French then why don't you attend beauxbatons?"
Charles smiled a little when she started to talk about him being a broom racer, the boy always liked it when others commented on the fact especially since his family never cared. Thinking about what the girl spoke of, Charles then spoke however this time with his natural Russian accent " whose your boyfriend? I might have heard of him," Charles doubted it but it would be nice to know about his opponents before the race coming up.
" I'm good I guess but that is true you need both strength and balance not to mention accuracy for broom racing," Charles spoke again with a Russian accent as he wanted to speak more about his broom racing at Dumstrang, he didn't and instead decided to say " terrified if flying? Well then we need to change that, what if before I leave on the 1st we go out flying one night and I can show you how beautiful it is to be one with the stars since your a star yourself miss Rosier," Charles tried his luck at a bit of flirting as he smiled at her.

"Having you fly me out at night amongst the stars sounds quite fascinating, Charlie...but you know, you're laying it on rather thick and I don't mean your accent," she said as she narrowed her eyes a little. How dare he? Did he even hear what she had just told him? Of course he had, because he asked about the whole why Hogwarts over Beauxbatons. "I did say I had a boyfriend," ...although it was one she wasn't happy with.
Moving on. "Anyways, we moved from France to the Windlesham Village area of Surrey and I suppose that meant we fell under the jurisdiction of Hogwarts," she shrugged. "I never got a letter to Beauxbatons, only Hogwarts. My father went here. Guess I never really put too much thought into it. My sister much rather prefers Beauxbatons but I can't fathom a better school than here."
She then looked Charles up and down one more time as she walked, literally, in a circle around him. French speaking, English Speaking, Durmstrang student. Brittish accent, Russian accent. She couldn't figure him out.
"What's Durmstrang like? Do you miss it or do you wish you were staying here?" Again, she couldn't imagine liking another school better. They probably all had their charm, as Bella made Beauxbatons sound rather wonderful.
"Oh, and when are you taking me on this ride?"

Charles smiled at Alina for a second as he was a bit disappointed that she caught onto his flirting rather quickly and Charles couldn't play around with it a bit more as he decided to speak with a British accent in english as he replied, " thick? Ah I'm sorry Alina that was my bad of course and didn't mean to come off to strong since you have said you have a boyfriend although I would still love to show you the wonders and magically of flying at night under the stars."
Charles gave her a smile as he listened to speak about her family and why she attend Hogwarts over beauxbatons which overall sounded about right to Charles. The boy spent around two years in Russia around the time students were accepted to Dumstrang just so he could be accepted as well and after he was that was when the boy went back to england.
" I personally don't like Dumstrang, we all have our different uh views on our and other schools but I never been one to boast about attending the institution," Charles spoke with his natural mix of russian and British accent as he continued " I live in Durham and for a year or two I moved to Russia just to be accepted to Dumstrang. From my experiences of Dumstrang it's a school filled with sore losers and muscularity if that makes sense plus my friends attend other schools anyway. Yeah what I lack in friends at the school make up in talent for broom racing I guess."
Charles offered her a smiled as he brought up the flying at night again in which Charles spoke " what about tonight, miss Rosier?"
