An already bad day

Aella was already in a bad mood today she woke up late and her slippers were missing, then she got lost, and now she was going to be late for her class.
She mumbled under her breath complaining to herself about how annoying the moving stairs are, she had ended up on the wrong floor twice already! You’d think the top wizarding school in the world would be able to keep students from getting lost so easily. She had to ask a painting for advice on where to go which was very embarrassing for her.
She was speeding through the corridor, Slytherin robes floating behind her. The corridors seemed to go on forever she wondered if she’d ever get to class and she debated skipping the class and just heading back to her dormitory but it was her first class of the year and she thought she should at least give it a chance.
She started picking up the pace and jogging slightly until she tripped over her shoelace and face planted the floor “You have got to be kidding me” she grumbled angrily pushing herself back up on her feet, she bent down and tied her shoe lace, she tied a perfect bow and stood straight back up with a sigh.

An already bad day
Haley was just on her way to the common room, she had a free period and wanted to quickly bring her things to her room and get the books for the rest of the day. If she had some time left she would make herself comfortable in the common room for a while.
Lost in thought, Haley went through the corridors as she was brought back to reality by a harsh sound. She looked to the right and saw a girl who had just fallen and was straightening up. By the robe she could tell that it was a Slytherin.
Not again, Haley thought. Until now, her encounters with the Slytherins had not ended well. Get quickly away before she could blame me, Haley thought and had to grin. But her feet did not move.
Haley didn't want to condemn anyone because of their house without really knowing the person and before she could think about it again her mouth was already faster. "Hey! You okay?" Haley heard shouting from her mouth.
She was annoyed for a short moment, but quickly said goodbye to the thought, after all she was just being friendly. She hoped the Slytherin girl would be nicer and appreciate the gesture, not like her predecessors.

An already bad day
Aella looked up and she realised somebody had seen her fall over, her face flushed red with embarrassment “I’m fine.”
She was annoyed somebody had witnessed her making a fool of herself by tripping over her shoe lace she bet she looked clumsy and stupid. Aella didn’t even know why she was rushing she didn’t truly care about classes she never had she just doesn’t see the point, but she doesn’t want to disappoint her parents this early in the year
Aella brushed her brown hair out of her face before crossing her arms and then taking a step towards the girl who spoke to her. A Gryffindor, the girl has long, wavy, orange hair, a lot of freckles on her face and green eyes, she’s quite pretty Aella thought.
She didn’t have many thoughts or prejudice on the houses she only knew what her parents had told her about them. Slytherin the house most of her family is and luckily the house she is in are cunning and ambitious, Ravenclaws are smart and curious, Hufflepuffs are hardworking and loyal, and then Gryffindors are brave and pompous. Her parents had told her that when they attended Hogwarts the Gryffindors looked down on them despite their high status in the wizarding world she was told the Gryffindors thought they were better than them.
Aella wondered if the girl was like that and if what her parents said was true or not.
“Quit the staring”Aella snapped she was already in a bad mood and the Gryffindor girl might of been being polite or she could of asked in a mocking way. Aella would know how to act around the girl based on her next response.

Haley rolled her eyes when the Slytherin girl snarled at her. This can't be happening seriously, can it? Haley was angry inside.
She had never been prejudiced against the Slytherin house, she almost was a Slytherin herself, but so gradually she began to doubt. Were the people who talk bad about the Slytherins really right? Are they really only bad people? She didn't want to believe that, but once again she was proven wrong. Why did the Slytherins have to be so damn unkind?
Haley pondered for a moment if she should react or just ignore it and just keep going to the common room. Haley decided it wasn't worth the stress and turned around without saying another word to the girl.
But before she stepped away, she had changed her mind. She wouldn't be so rudely snubbed if she was simply nice to someone. She turned her head and looked at the Slytherin girl. "You know what? Maybe next time you shouldn't be so pissed off when someone is worried about whether or not everything is okay. I don't know if you understand, but I didn't do anything bad to you, just asked if everything was okay. After all, you fell and could have hurt yourself. So next time don't take your anger out on the next best person." Haley said without a note of fear or insecurity in her voice.
Haley was about to leave when she added a sentence "You always wonder why so many people have these bad prejudices about the Slytherins, maybe it's just this behavior that's the reason."
Haley wasn't angry, she was just annoyed. She didn't even look at the Slytherin girl angrily, she didn't want to be misunderstood, just that she or all people just rethink how they react the next time.
Haley knew she had made another enemy in the house of Slytherin, but she did not regret it. Inwardly, she prepared herself for the coming insults of the girl.

“Someone thinks I’m rude oh no” Aella mocked
Anger rose up inside her, who gave that girl permission to talk to her like that? “Sorry did I hurt your delicate little feelings?” Aella spoke condescending as she glared at the girl with a deathly stern look and she clenched her teeth
She took a step forward “Just because I’m not sickeningly sweet doesn’t mean you get to talk to me like that” she looked her up and down “Gryffindor” she said the word like an insult and as if being a Gryffindor was a bad thing and so far Aella thought it was and she was glad to be in Slytherin despite what people thought about them.
Aella was holding back from her mean insults she could say so much worse and she wanted to nobody spoke to her like that, it was disrespectful and her parents told her never put with people like that. The girl doesn’t know her or her life or that her day had been bad she had no right.
Aella learned from a young age if you let people talk down to you and you didn’t say a word back you’d be seen as weak and there’s no way she was going to be seen as weak or somebody who backs down.
The girl must of thought she was so much better than Aella because she asked one slightly concerned question and when Aella didn’t respond with a polite smile she yelled at her - what a brat.
Her parents were right Gryffindors think they’re better than Slytherins and they’re not. Aella knew she should teach the girl a lesson but instead she let her anger and frustration boil inside and she decided not stoop down to her level but if she said something else she wouldn’t hold back.

An already bad day
Now Haley started to get angry. For her it was clear now - all slytherins must be little beasts. For too long she had hoped that she had only met bad exceptions but again she was proved wrong.
Why did all slytherins think they were better? After all, she had only pointed out to the spoiled girl that you don't have to be rude to a polite question.
Haley wanted so much to just leave that figure there and go, but she just couldn't. She knew exactly that she would be annoyed the rest of the day, but she couldn't let these statements stand there. After all, Haley had spoken to her in a normal tone and now she completely freaked out. Not with ME she thought.

There is a clear lack of decent upbringing here, but Haley kept that to herself, she feared the girl's head would burst with rage.
"It's best not to put everything on the gold scale, but you're right, don't waste your breath before you hyperventilate here." Haley said and gave a fake worried look and shook her head.

Aella raised her eyebrows when the girl began to laugh at her it took her by surprise and just as the girl probably intended she felt embarrassed but Aella had dealt with conflict and being embarrassed many times before so she didn’t let it show how she was feeling inside
Aella just smirked at the Gryffindor she was a little impressed with the girls guts to stand up to her, even though she didn’t have to stand up for herself since Aella didn’t do anything wrong
Aella was still very annoyed but after the girls last snide comment she decided to hide her anger and just be coy on the outside.
“It is really none of your business. Why don’t you just run along Gryffindor?” Aella kept the same cold tone as she spoke not faltering once
After holding the girls gaze for a few seconds Aella let out a low chuckle slightly amused by the fact the girl though she had a chance standing up against her “I just have one thing to say before you scurry on” She smiled

At first Haley thought that the situation was not going to end that bad, because the girls probably just got off on the wrong foot and it was nothing personal. For a moment as she looked at the Slytherin girl she thought that the girl was surprised but also impressed by Haley's reaction.
For a few seconds she thought that the situation had defused and that the girls would end up laughing about it, but she was wrong. "Of course it's none of my business, but it didn't interest me either, I just wanted to check if everything was okay." Haley was super annoyed by the fact that she didn't understand this and now pretended that Haley had done something bad to her.
But before Haley could get angry and just keep going aways she heard the threat from the girl. Haley decided for the first time not to say anything more about it, it all became too stupid for her. She just turned around one last time, laughed again and made a gesture that made her understand that Haley thought the girl was gone crazy.
