Yeah....that was too much. Finished

Reed didn't say much on the way to the hospital wing to the other Ravenclaw boy. He was struggling to even push himself to get to the wing. He only gave the other boy nods, and grunts. He still stood tall despite the cut on his back, and bruises starting to form all down his legs, and right arm.

"I don't think it was the wand. Nothing looks wrong with it...I was told it would be unruly, but I never expected that." He sighed, looking at the wand in his left hand. The explosion of force didn't seem to damage it too much, miraculously but it did leave a chip of wood missing at the tip. From what he had read, this wouldn't affect too much as long as the core of the wand was not exposed, (which it wasn't)

Reed walked into the medical wing and limped to a bed as a nurse walked over to him. The black-haired boy shook his head, and pointed to Adam. "Check him first. There was an accident, and I want to know if he's okay." He said, hiding his hand covered in dried blood and keeping his back hidden from the woman. The nurse nodded, and motioned the other Ravenclaw to sit on a bed so she could check for anything wrong.
Yeah....that was too much. Finished
Adam rolled his eyes but sat down on the bed as he had been instructed. "My hero," he joked, letting the nurse check for any injuries he may have sustained during the explosion. It felt like just a few bruises, not even breaking skin; he had come away from the whole ordeal much more intact than he would have expected. Reed, however, was battered and bloodied, and he was still trying to be the perfect prefect he had been trained to be. Adam didn't know whether to view it as admirable or stupid. It was probably both.

"You know, we are pretty much the same age. I might even be older than you. You don't have to keep going on being this protector-general all the time. Especially since you're clearly in worse shape than I am."

The nurse began a few vision and hearing tests, probably checking for any signs of concussion. Adam sighed. "I didn't hit my head, you know. I'm fine. He's the one bleeding." He motioned to Reed, but the nurse simply reprimanded him and continued her tests. Frustrated, Adam decided it wasn't worth an argument at all and kept talking to Reed regardless.

"So if it's not the wand, then...what is it? Could it be you? I mean, no offense, but I'm not sure what else there really is to consider." Adam was determined to find out what had caused such a volatile reaction from the spell -- and he suspected there was much more to Reed than met the eye.
Yeah....that was too much. Finished
The nurses followed a protocol to listen to prefects when it came to medical accidents with the exceptions being extreme emergencies. This was because prefects put the well-being of other students above their own. Well...the good ones did. The bleeding on Reed's back had stopped with his pulling his robe down on it tightly. "I'm no hero. I'm just stupid. Hahaha-owch.." He winced.

Reed thought about his job for a moment before responding. "Well age doesn't really matter. You're more important than me right now since I caused this...And as a prefect, I guess I'm supposed to be a shield for the other students. Kinda like being both a professor, and a student at the same time, ya know? I'd do the same if you were a seventh year. It's what I signed up for."

Then he heard Adam suggest he was the problem, and he nodded. It couldn't be anything else. "Well, it has to be me. It's probably my daydreaming and pent up stress...you see, my dad was a prodigy here. He was a Slytherin. And my mom went to griffindor. They were both adopted into muggle homes, and well...they thought raising me like a muggle myself for a while would be the best. Now everything was thrown on top of me at once, and I took the role of prefect for GOD knows why." He sighed as another nurse finished with students from across the room and took off Reed's robes to reveal a large gash on his left shoulder, and another cut along his right arm that wasn't bleeding nearly as much, but still needed medical attention.

The nurse quickly applied a green goo that must have been some kind of cleaner because when it touched those cuts it BURNED. Reed let out a small yelp, and said "Owowowowowowow calm down lady." as she wiped down the cuts. After wrapping bandages over his chest, shoulders, and right arm the nurse started to do the usual hearing, and sight tests like they were doing for Adam.

"But....I like it. Curfew is a bit more relaxed for us since we have patrols so I have extra time to enjoy peace and quiet. On top of that, I already mean something! I spent years not knowing any other kids, but now I'm someone people can come to...I suck at it right now, but it's so refreshing." Before Reed could ramble on any more, he was told to come back once every other day to replace the bandages until it was all healed, and not to be so reckless. He agreed then asked Adam. "So....what about you? You said something about tapping into anger...what do you have to be mad about?"
Yeah....that was too much. Finished
He laughed as Reed jumped from the salve that the nurse spread across his cuts. He'd given up on telling Reed that he didn't really need someone his age to look after him, and had decided to try and appreciate the help instead. Adam admittedly wasn't paying much attention as Reed talked about the perks of being a prefect, instead wondering how many times he'd have to show up in this room before the year was over. When Reed asked him about what he had to be mad about, however, he snapped back to the situation at hand and a new bout of laughter came forth.

"Sorry," he apologized, trying to calm himself down. "It's not anything you said, it's just....I assume you haven't met my brother." Adam did love his brother undoubtedly, as most family members did, but the Harringtoms were not exempt from the time-honored tradition of a bitter sibling rivalry. It didn't help that Dean seemed to be amazing at everything he did -- and it certainly didn't help that he felt the need to pass everything on to Adam. He supposed that he shouldn't be taking this opportunity for granted, this chance to have a brother who cared, but it was hard to see the silver lining when Dean was around. He made Adam feel like he had to excel in Charms his first year, and Adam's competitiveness was starting to border on ruthlessness. That's where Adam drew his anger from: failed spell attempts, charms gone wrong, and the knowledge that Dean wouldn't have made that mistake.

"Anyway, since you seem to be the one in charge, here, Wesley, do you happen to know when we'll get out? I do still have homework to finish. And maybe some charms to perfect....."
Yeah....that was too much. Finished
Reed chuckled as the nurse lifted some of his hair to reveal another cut on the back of his head. The nurse scolded him for not being careful and waved her wand over the cuts, cleaning it out to some degree before putting another bandage wrap around his head. Reed listened to Adam, and kind of understood. "So from what I get here...either your brother's a jerk or you're like me. You want to be better then them." He said as the nurse left.

Being a single child, Reed couldn't say he knew exactly how it was, but that was his best guess. The prefect stepped out of the bed with a wince, and a bit of a hiss before getting used to the bandages. "You can leave when they say you're doing alright. Simple as that." He said, throwing his bloody robe over himself, hiding the wraps completely. Reed was relieved that he could at least hide them from other students. Looking weak and injured was the last thing he needed.

Reed moved his shoulders in a circle to stretch a bit before asking Adam. "How about we become spell practice mates, then? You seem a bit uhm...emotional with spellcasting. I can barely make light pop out of my wand for a few seconds, but I think my wand moving is really good....we could make a good team." With that, Reed waved one hand. "I'll probably see ya in the ravenclaw dorms. You don't leave till they check everything."
Yeah....that was too much. Finished
"Aw, rushing off so soon?" Adam joked, and waved Reed to the door. "I'll be cooperative. I'm sure you have some prefect-ly duties to get to, anyways." Grinning, Adam sat still as the nurse conducted some final tests. Seeing Reed was still watching him, Adam laughed. "Go! I'll see you back in the Common Room, or the dorms. Besides, we're 'spell practice mates' now, yeah? Is that what you called it? You won't be able to get rid of me for long." Adam was looking forward to practicing with the other boy, and he was right -- each of their skill sets combined would provide results much more efficiently.

When Reed walked out, Adam started to think about what he had discovered. There were people here with immense amounts of power; case in point, Reed Wesley. Who knows what they'd be able to do if they dove a little further into their wellsprings? First year was an uneventful year, charms-wise, but if Adam could find more of these power-enhanced people, maybe he could learn a little something on the side. It was definitely worth exploring.

He knew that he'd run into Reed again very soon. He'd have to be careful about his plans now -- he wasn't exactly using the Ravenclaw prefect, but he could see how one could view it that way. This could be Adam's way of getting ahead at the school. And there was no way that he wasn't taking advantage of it.
