The House Cup
Over the summer Slytherin might have worked hard but as soon as the academic year started, Gryffindor started off in a sprint. 1058 points were earned by Gryffindor his past month, this being the first time that Gryffindor has won the house cup since December of 2019. The other houses were behind by a great margin, the next house was Hufflepuff earning 809 house points this past month.
This was followed by House Slytherin with 763 points and Ravenclaw with 701 points. This was an impressive feat by all the students who contributed. Due to their academic efforts, several Professors (unnamed to save from godmodding) have reached out to the Gryffindor students to see if they would be interested in representing Hogwarts this fall in a broom race.
Broom Racing is a sport that fell out of popularity in the UK several years ago but it is in the process of a revitalization. Beauxbatons Academy of Magic is well known for their skill on the broom stick, however we know that our Hogwarts students are naturals at everything that they do and that they can really give Beauxbatons a race that they will never forget. Arriving with Beauxbatons Academy of Magic this year is Ilvermorny as well as Durmstrang, also interested in getting racing teams up and running once again in their schools they will be participating in this race.
Hogwarts will be watching the student body over the next month for another exemplary house to participate in this race late fall.
In addition, the top earning students for Hogwarts will be offered the opportunity to die. The top earner was @Kyle DeRook, who knew he knew where the library was? Well, he surprised us all and earned 108 house points. This was followed by @Katrina Walker who earned 102 house points this past month. Third, also a Gryffindor, @Anastasia Beckett who earned 75 house points this past month.

The House Cup

Hufflepuff has won the House Cup for the first time since March 2020. Perhaps they did not see a reason to. However, in the month of October Hufflepuff has a sudden and drastic change of heart. In the month of October Hufflepuff earned 1137 house points! This total being the second highest Hufflepuff has ever earned. They simply crushed the competition, the next house in the running was Gryffindor with 855 house points this past month. This was followed by House Slytherin with 792 points and Ravenclaw with 724 points.
Hufflepuff has been experiencing a string of victories -- in fact they recently won their first Quidditch Game of 2020 against House Ravenclaw. Everything has been coming out Millhouse considering the fact that the magical community has been slowly falling into disarray. Their happiness will soon turn to sorrow during the lock-in on October 31, an attempt to shield them from the dangerous werewolves that are walking the grounds, the children have been consolidated into a single, densely populated place.
What does that mean for our top point earning students: Ethen, Felicia and Willow? Well, all three of them are hufflepuff, so they are already as good as dead. However, being the fact that they are winners this month and therefore deserve some sort of token compensation for somehow living.
@Ethen Emrys G 14, G 15, G 16 and G 18 as well as a smattering of frog cards to open.
@Felicia Gatling G 14, G 15, G 16 and G 18 as well as a smattering of frog cards to open.
@Willow Anderson G 14, G 15, G 16 and G 18 as well as a smattering of frog cards to open.
The tangible reward has already been sent, but I also encourage you for no reason in particular to participate in the Hufflepuff 'not murder' (lies) lock-in.
Congrats to all three of you.

The House Cup

Hufflepuff has won the House Cup twice in a row. After a dry spell where they have not won since March 2020, they have gotten a consecutive victory. In the month of November Hufflepuff earned 1110 house points, 27 points lower than last month. It was a close fight, 1097 points were earned by House Slytherin and that den of snakes was fighting until the very end. This was followed by House Gryffindor with 1021 points and Ravenclaw with 808 points.
What does that mean for our top point earning students: @Opeila Winters, @Starlee Kennedy and @Cade Darkbound? Well, none of them are Hufflepuff so they did not carry their house to their doom, yet they are probably also as good as dead. Information regarding what is going to happen will be announced to Hufflepuff and these three will be somehow involved in the disaster.
Congrats to all three of you as well as House Hufflepuff.

The House Cup

Gryffindor has taken the house cup for the month of December, making them the house cup winners the start of the New Year. They are starting off the New Year right!. In the month of December Gryffindor earned 752 house points, less than last month but still higher than every other house this month. 681 points were earned by House Slytherin, this was followed by House Hufflepuff with 589 points and Ravenclaw with 431 points.
What does that mean for our top point earning students from last month: @Opeila Winters, @Starlee Kennedy and @Cade Darkbound? Well, they will be joining in on this mini adventure where they return to the school the first week of January to meet with disaster. As for the winners this month --Everley Charlton AND Elena Jangleton from House Gryffindor are tied for our top student this month, having earned 79 house points each. Oddly enough Opeila Winters and Piérre Marchonné are tied for third place, both having earned 54. They will be participating in a trainwreck.
Congrats to all of you as well as House Gryffindor.

The House Cup

Slytherin has taken the house cup for the month of January, making them the house cup winners the first month of 2021. It was a close competition this month. In the month of January, Slytherin earned 850 house points, far from their highest earnings in a month but still higher than every other house this month. 813 points were earned by House Gryffindor, this was followed by House Hufflepuff with 757 points and lastly Ravenclaw with 734 points.
Smartest kid in the school Henry Llewellyn, being somewhat questionable because of the crush he harbors on Mr. Knight; brought his house top points with 139. His admirable effort was not enough to secure his house victory for the first time in months. This was followed by Piper Clark with an honorable 86 points from house Slytherin. Without her efforts Gryffindor would have won the cup this past month, Finally, in third Evelynn Depicio, who despite her drama with her Captain seems to be able to find time to do her homework. These three will be joining Slytherin on a mini adventure.
We are going something a bit different this month. Temporary vision for those that lacked it has been provided to the Dungeons (will revert to normal a few weeks after the thread completes) where Slytherin students will finally investigate strange occurrences in the dungeons. Old user Kaegen Deathmote guest stars in this mini adventure. This will include our top point earning students: @Henry Llewellyn, @Piper Clark and @Evelynn Decipio.
Congrats to all of you as well as House Gryffindor.

The House Cup

Ravenclaw has taken the house cup for the month of February, making them the house cup winners the second month of 2021. This is the first time since July of 2020 that Ravenclaw has gotten the House Cup. They decimated the competition this month. In the month of February, Ravenclaw earned 948 house points, the closest earning house being Gryffindor with 852 points. This was followed by House Slytherin with 804 points and lastly Hufflepuff with 721 points.
Surprisingly the top three students this month are all from houses besides Ravenclaw. Top point earner -- @Xailah Alptraum, a metamorph Gryffindor that had earned her house a solid 80 points this month. Her efforts were not enough to secure a lion victory. In second was @Starlee Kennedy from House Slytherin who earned 77 points for her house. Finally, in third, relative newcomer Nicholas McCowan a first year from House Gryffindor with an appreciable 75 points. These three will be joining Ravenclaw on a mini adventure.
We are going something a bit different this month. We are putting some of the pieces of the Main Story puzzle together, utilizing some of the most brilliant minds in the school.There are three threads -- The Owlery, the Boy's Dormitory and the Ravenclaw Common Room. The findings here might shed some additional light on the curse that has been plaguing a portion of the student body.

Next month -- that is the winners of the House Cup for the month of March: you will be participating in a different sort of adventure. Kit Paine and Thomas LeStrange have been working behind the scenes to develop a response to the hag threat. This is a lengthy arc for players and will be rewarded to the top 12 players for the month of March, as the adventure will start in the month of April. As for a house reward, it will be monetary compensation for the top house. The top house, anyone that has contributed more that 17 house points the month of March and belongs to the winning house (both things) will be rewarded with 5 galleons.
Looking ahead. The month thereafter, that is the month of April, the top 6 winners will be organizing the Blossom Ball in May. Things will surely go wrong and this will be facilitated with the assistance of the Hogwarts staff. this is the player's chance to shine and to demonstrate their ability to run an adventure as well as be recognized for their skill. This will involve IC and OC aspects more than likely. As for the winning house -- anyone that has contributed more that 17 house points the month of April and belongs to the winning house (both things) will be rewarded with chocolate frog cards as well as a small (not murder adventure but plot related) surprise.

Reaching the top in May, we saw Violet Carrington, a first year Slytherin, take the lead with 45 points. Second in, we had Iris Zarus swoop up to 39 points. She saw her house win the cup last month as well. On the third place we have a bit of a stand-off. The Ravenclaws at summer camp would have received a mysterious note in their cabins on August 8th, inviting them to meet at the edge of the Forbidden Forest: [link]. The top three Ravenclaw students were invited on a date by the Great Lake: [link]. As the winners of June enjoy their rewards, follow their threads for some main story developments.
