Early Morning - Part 3
@Alina Rosier
Sorry for the wait
After Logan put his shirt back on, Alina offered him her hand so he could get back up and they would dry themselves in the divination classroom. They couldn't go anywhere else that had a fireplace because the common rooms would make them split up and the great hall would have a lot of people who would be staring at them and their cold and wet clothes. The divination classroom, on the other hand, would be pretty much empty, it had a fireplace, and they could stay together.
They went up the stairs of the north tower, still holding hands. He expected to see a regular classroom but this classroom had circular tables and little poufs for comfort.
He took out one and moved it closer to the fireplace and he brought another for Alina. The fireplace made him feel good like it was returning some of his life-force. He said,He let out a shaky sigh and sat down. This was truly a hectic week. He met dozens of friends, he shared a couple kisses with Alina, he got the world's greatest girl to be his girlfriend and he swam in the great lake, even if it was just a few meters. Something he still criticized Remi for doing it and would never imagine doing it himself. Silently, Logan was proud of himself. He got out his comfort zone and it change his life."It feels good to be warm again"

"It does," she said as she held out her hands so they were closer to the flames although they were still at a safe distance. She made sure of that and in thinking about the safety of it all, she glanced over to him, sensing the sort of wavering in his sigh.
"I'm sorry if I worried you. Startled you. Scared you." Maybe even upset him. "It's pretty nice that you'd go after me though, that you'd do what you could to protect me." She never really had that before. She had a mother who wasn't around and then died. She had a father who wasn't around. She had a grandmother that hated her. She had a twin sister who was absorbed into her own selfishness.
"I act without thinking often. Impulsive. I guess you could say it's one of my lesser qualities. I'm not...trying to get a reaction and I hope you know that. I'd never toy with your emotions." She turned from looking at the flames over to him. It may have been a misunderstanding but he needed to know that she didn't mean it.
She didn't even know why she did things like that. Maybe it was her attempts to be 'put together' and seem like she had everything under control. She was attempting to be a leader because the leader always knew what they were doing - right? Or maybe she just made poor decisions because she lacked having someone stable in her life helping her have consistency, to help problem solve. She didn't know.
"This room is amazing," she said and glanced around. "I think it would be terrifying to be a seer though. Some of the things...you probably don't want to know ahead of time, you know?" like pain, suffering, famine, floods, etc. "At least in the wizarding world people believe you. I hear there's a lot of skepticism of it all in the muggle world. Those that can predict the future and have visions probably feel like Cassandra from Agamemnon. She was given the gift of prophecy yet when she delivered it, no one could understand."

@Alina Rosier
He didn't think before kissing her in the ballroom. That came out good. He didn't think before jumping in the lake. He was still on the fence about that."I'm an impulsive person too. Something I even do stuff without thinking. That can come out good or bad"
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Alina moved her hand to the fire, close enough for her to get warm but not so close that she gets her hands burnt. He did the same.Ever single thing they did was slowing building their trust for each other but by bit. Alina wasn't gonna hurt him. Past events had proved that already. She said something about seers, prophecies and... Cassandra. Logan's mental gears began to turn."You'd never toy with my emotions. I trust you too much for that"That was straight up evil. But hey, it wasn't the only time."Cassandra was Apollo, the sun god's lover. He blessed her with the gift of prophecy. When she couldn't bear him a child, he cursed that gift and made it so that no one would ever believe her.""The gods avoid closure and take out all their anger on lesser beings. Apollo had a disagreement with Zeus and instead of settling the beef with him, he killed most of the cyclopses that made his bolt."When he begins ranting, he slowly begins to forget his environment. He shook his head and put one arm around Alina."They send mortals to do their bidding even if they now the mortal might die. I'm glad I wasn't a Greek or Roman"

Sorry, for some reason it doesn't want to officially tag me to end up in 'my rp' so I'm hoping maybe this works?
"Yeah, I wouldn't like to do someone else's bidding like that either," she said, knowing she had too much leadership qualities in her to be a blind follower like that. "Or maybe I'm being a little hypocritical there," she smiled over at him, liking the closeness. "My grandmother...she used to have Bella and I have etiquette classes, we were to always be polished and well-mannered and be skilled in all things elegant and lovely," she shook her head.
"A simpler scale to say the least, but she still tried to control us..." her voice faltered a little as she wondered if Bella had any contact with the woman after their father had thrown his own mother out of their house. She certainly hoped not but the two were starting to bond quite a lot before that happened.
"But I suppose even that wasn't the worst thing possible to happen," she watched the fire for a moment and took slow deep breaths. She didn't need to get worked up with her emotions because that's when it would happen - what happened even at her first sign of magic many years ago which was setting a fire when her emotions got too strong. She glanced over to Logan, liking how they could be playful together but also quite real with one another.
And so that begged her to ask the question. "What's the worst thing that's happened to you?" Most likely it was his siblings moving far away or his mother's death, but she still wanted to hear it from him and just maybe he'd elaborate on it more and she could get to know him a little more deeply.

Alina's grandmother sounded like a total control freak and a narcissist. Her family seemed to unconsciously hurt her. Naturally, he would relate with her, but in this case, he couldn't.
She had family that didn't understand her while Logan, on the other hand, had family that understood him, but where never really there to do so.
She finally asked him about the worst thing that has ever happened in his life.
"Alright, I never really thought about that" he thought.
His mottos were "just wing it", "keep pushing" and "don't ever look back" so it kinda made sense when he refused to think about bad things that totally ruined his life in the past.
His mom died. His siblings moved. He got lost in the woods once. His father went on self imposed exile from reality. And last but not least, he was gonna moving in with Travis and his crazy, rich and overprotective family cuz no one was coming back home any time soon. The last thing wasn't all that bad, on the count of them being super rich and Logan having extra hang time with his friend.He totally forgot about his entire environment. He knew he was talking to someone but he forgot it was Alina. The only thing in his view was the crackling fire."I gotta go withy mother's death. But I'm not bummed anymore. If you stay in the collapsing building, you get crushed. The same works with past traumas"

She hated that Logan had to experience so many family members just sort of up and leave like that, whether by death or moving or emotionally withdrawing. "Remember that you've got me," she said to him. "If you ever need advice or help or just someone to talk to, you've got me, okay?" she gave him a reassuring smile as he watched the fire.
"I find it hard to move on. I mean...I think about how, even if it was just a kid, I should have known something was wrong. That maybe I somehow could have intervened and had an actually relationship with my mother before her death but instead I was just always mad at her for ignoring me. Ignoring us. Now I know that wasn't her fault."
"And I never can get passed seeing her. I was outside in the gardens and came in for something to drink and found her on the floor of the Grand Foyer. At first I thought she had passed out or something because it was so odd for her to just be there, laying on the ground like that. But even before I fully got to her, I just knew. I knew that something was off in the way she was laying and the way her eyes..." she stopped.
It caught her attention that one of the tapestries upon the stone wall of the Divination Classroom was set aflame. "Not again!" she exclaimed. Alina hopped off the chair she was sitting on and acted quickly, pulling the fabric off the wall by the corner not alit in flames and began beating it down against the flooring to suffocate the fire.
This is why she tried not to think of that day too often. She had set books on fire, a chair, flames moving across the flooring, her father's necktie, tapestries, etc. She didn't quite understand it but knew it had something to do with the burning emotions inside her. "...Sorry," she whispered to him.
Logan was probably going to think she was some kind of freak now. Or evil. Maybe he wouldn't want to be with her anymore or even be friends. The truth was though that she didn't understand why this happened, it just did. She watched him, wondering what his reaction would be. He had grown upset with her for jumping into the Lake without telling him, what would he think when she set things on fire at times when she was super emotional?

It was a peaceful moment. He helped her with some of her problems and she helped me get rid of his. Sitting by the fireplace, only to get warm was now the very least of their concerns.
She was telling him how about her mother-daughter relationship. Then Alina stopped.
"Not again" she said, as she got up and used a piece of cloth to suffocate the freshly lit fire that popped up on the wall.
Logan's expression went blank. He wasn't sure whether to remain sad, be shocked or be angry. He finally settled on an emotion. Happiness.
Logan had his share of emotion induced magic. It felt nice to see someone other than him actually do it.His magic is easily triggered by all emotions, not just anger."No worries. I've done stuff that are even more dangerous."A lot of things happened to him. All the way from dancing silverware to exploding toilets. Alina didn't need to be afraid. Everything that belonged in the wizarding world had a weird side to it."I was coming back from a study session with Travis and I got jumped. My fear alone caused a full dumpster to tip over and fall on him. Another time, a kid was getting picked on by bullies. When the bully went to the fountain, it blew water at his and sent him flying across the quad."

She felt she could actually breathe knowing that his reaction wasn't one of being freaked out. She smiled and tried to smooth out the tapestry and laid it across one of the tables before coming back over to join him by the fire. "Well, you see, you were a Gryffindor before you even knew what a Gryffindor was."
And she liked that, that he helped others with bullies like that. Part of her wondered if she would come across those Ravenclaw girls this year that put her in the Hospital Wing last year. They would now be in their Sixth year. She hadn't told anyone what really happened the year before because naming names and singling them out and getting them in trouble would have only made things worse. She wouldn't tell Logan either. No use getting him upset.
"I try not to think about it too much because that always happens," she said truthfully. It was when she started feeling the emotions of that night when it happened. "I even set our home in France on fire and my father's necktie...while it was still around his neck," she bit the corner of her lip knowing that wasn't good but hey, it wasn't something she could always control.
"It helps knowing more now. Before we were all kind of left blindsided and clueless but now we know it was my grandmother that did it. I truly don't know why my father just exiled her from the house and not turn her into Azkaban but.." she trailed off and shrugged. She didn't always understand adults and their ways. Especially the adults in her life.
Alina looked around the classroom they were in and smiled with the drapes of fabric along the walls and such. It reminded her a lot of her own dormitory and how she set it up that year now that she moved from Wenlock Lodge to Badger Bungalow. "We can't take Divination until third year. I'm no seer or anything and I don't know how I'll do wit tea leaves and hand readings and crystal balls but I've got a few sets of Tarot cards. I plan to do some readings in the Abandoned Classroom on the Second Floor. You should come and try it out."

@Alina Rosier
His grandmother was your typical grandma from TV shows, except she wasn't frail, she didn't like knitting and she liked video games even though she was a wizard-born. But she was still nice nonetheless."Now, your grandma is sounding like a real jerk. I never though old people could be that vindictive."
Alina said she was planning on doing tarot card readings in the spare classroom down in the second floor. It confused him a bit cuz second years didn't have divination, but she being his girlfriend, moved him to actually try it."So, fortune telling. I'm a movie guy and fortune tellers usually end up playing an important part in the life of the protagonist."He said stroking his chin. He looked around and suddenly, he forgot what he was doing here. He didn't know why he was by the fire."Hmm... I wonder if some muggle fortune tellers actually have wizarding experience."
He looked out the window and remembered the great lake incident and said,He said before patting his clothes to check if they were still moist."Hey, I guess I'm all dry now, how 'bout you."He said before walking out of the room and down the stairs."I think I should go. I'm going over to the spare classroom to sign up for my readings. See you then."
