Welcome BBQ
@Marshal Mozor
She chuckled hearing the boy saying about magical last names. This boy was fun. Definitely fun and fantastic. And that’s exactly the type Lindsey liked. She had a strong feeling that they would become close friends in the future, and Marshal was someone she could trust. Making friends was one of the most exciting thing in the world, and…yeah, if you throw Cricket Mercury and Henry Unknown away.
Still, she felt a great pleasure when the light haired boy answered that she was friendly. That’s good. She hoped that she was friendly. Well, most people she met called her easy going, but some didn’t. That led back to the question of Mercury and Unknown…that’s awful. Maybe she could make up with them someday. Maybe.
App Store? Google? Dear, what’s that? She wondered while listening the boy. The muggle world was tempting to her, and, and maybe she could learn more about it through Marshal. Useful to stay in contact…that’s fun. So it meant that a phone was like an owl. Which was just fantastic. And you could play games? What games? Like…Scavenger Hunt or Dodgeball? But how did that work?
She had tons of questions. But throwing them all to Marshal immediately might make him be overloaded. So Lindsey decided to ask them one by one.
“App store…I think I understand that.” She said while slowly drinking some lemonade. “It’s like a shop, but on the phone, right?”
“Though what’s a Google? The name’s quite interesting. Is he someone who created the phone? And why could you learn things from him?” Lindsey asked curiously. She couldn’t think that a muggle knew so much things…and that if you have a problem, you may ask him directly. That’s quite interesting.
Seeing Marshal eating his hotdogs, Lindsey felt a bit hungry as well. She finished drinking the glass of lemonade, and reached out to a sandwich. She took a bite, and chewed it. Delicious as always. Thought the girl. Hogwarts had never disappointed her regarding on food. Maybe she’d have a pie after the meal?
She was actively seeking her acquaintances, and hoped that she could at least find one. She could even introduce Marshal to them…but sadly, Lindsey found no one she knew was nearby. Yeah, talking with Marshal was pleasant enough, and she really really wanted to focus on their talk.
“So you are the first magical person in your family? That sounds great!” she added, with a smile. “I’m the last. My sibling and cousins are all older than me, being the youngest is not that good sometimes.”

Interacting with @Lindsey Springhall and @Marshal MozorWhen Lucia had to finished her food - delicious, as was everything at Hogwarts - she turned to the can of fizzy drink.
She picked it up and pulled hard on the metal ring that seemed to be the opening, to no avail. It stayed firmly shut.
Giving up for now and placing the can back on the ground, she turned and saw her friend Lindsey talking to a boy she'd never met before, and waved to grab their attention.
"Hey, Lindsey!" the Hufflepuff called over, repeating her friend's name until she got the girl's attention, "If you two're looking for somewhere to sit, there's space over here!"
Who was the boy?
Lucia considered this. He didn't look particularly like a soon to be second year, so maybe a newbie? Lucia was actually quite surprised at the sheer number of firsties who had come to the event - Merlin, they weren't even proper students yet! Actually, if she was going down that route, why had they been invited at all? Surely the teachers mst have a reason though.
She jerked a thumb towards the empty space on the seat next to her, and bent to move the can closer to her foot as she waited for a reply.

As they walked, gentle breezes caught in Frost's hair, brushing stray strands from her face and tickling her nose. Something about the way Maksim linked arms with her was particularly charming. That, and the fact that he also snort-giggled at something that wasn't as funny as they made it seem, made Frost feel much more comfortable. "Well, I can't say that I'm not glad to be going away from them," The girl scratched the back of her neck in an awkward manner. "Big groups of people I don't know just aren't my 'thing', I guess."
She simply couldn't believe how much this boy was complimenting her. Being a girl with stable self-esteem, Frost enjoyed his remarks. Though she did not know what Maksim said for the last half of his sentence, it was the second one that brought a rush of blood to her cheeks. 'Petrov wouldn't deserve a girl like you'. Her face was no doubt a bit red and warm to the touch, but she beamed at him regardless. "O-oh, thank you," Frost had no idea that she would sound so pathetic as she thanked him. It was odd how the girl wouldn't have recognized that it was her own voice had she not said it herself.
This interaction was pretty much the entirety of anybody flirting with her, and it showed. Times like this made her feel like more of a child than she already was. All she could do was hope that her way of acting didn't make Maksim feel uncomfortable.
His dramatic apology pulled a bubbly giggle from the dainty girl as she placed her free hand on top of his where it rested on her arm. It felt awfully good to be given respectful compliments, plus Maksim's saucy winks took her out. At the mention of his name, Frost gave a warm little goofy grin and repeated it back to him. "Just Maksim, got it," It was a name that she found unique, much like her own. It would be next to no trouble for her to remember it. A charming name for a charismatic boy. "I'm Frost."
Frost shook her head gently, "No, I've already eaten, but thank you," As she looked up at him, she gave a look as to let him know not to be worried. "Though I think just sitting and chatting is starting to sound pretty nice." For a few seconds, the redhead wondered what exactly made Maksim want to compliment her. In her own mind, she wasn't anything very special, especially with so many other pretty girls (or boys, if he was into that) around. "You do?" As she asked, her head tilted to the left by the slightest amount, much like a puppy. "I do too, like 'where did you learn to be so flirty?'" It was mostly a joke, but some part of her genuinely did want to know. Maybe to thank whoever taught him or learn how to herself.
"Whatever you ask, I'll try my best to answer, promise," On the word 'promise', Frost lifted her hand with her pinkie raised.omg im so sorry for taking so long✿

Finding himself with a full stomach and contented on conversation, Syl was happy for having made good company tonight. Sylvain elected to leave the Welcome BBQ a little after his friends decided to do so. The imaginative wizard thoroughly enjoyed the idea of watching capture the base tomorrow, or witnessing the human chess game on the tenth. He thought even further into the future. Perhaps he'd be brave enough to venture forth from his tent for the campfire stories, or join in on the crafting. Quietly he admitted to himself that perhaps it was for the best if he stayed in and read up on potions to better prepare himself for his destiny instead. Regrettably, Sylvain would just have to decide each day what he was capable of doing and learn to accept those choices.
Packaging the majority of his half-eaten meal, Sylvain gathered his belongings into his messenger bag and bid farewell to each of his remaining friends before parting. He would not be satisfied with just saying goodbye, instead he would make an earnest endeavor to ensure they had a plan on when they would talk or meet next. Wistfully having said his goodbyes, the lad's eyes would grow weary and his footfalls heavy as he pressed his way back into the maze of tents, becoming lost more than once along the way. It was an adventure nobody else would hear about, a peaceful moment to reflect even as the crowded campgrounds bustled.

Marshal sensed a bit of confusion coming off of Lindsey as he launched into his miserable explanation of technology. He could practically see the gears turning in her head as she tried to picture what he was saying, and he briefly wondered how teachers managed to make kids understand a topic that was entirely foreign to them. It was like introducing a brand new way of thinking.
He was aware that he had personally presented most of his teachers over the years with many a blank stare; perhaps it was as discouraging for the teacher as it was for him.
Lindsey seemed to grasp what he was saying about the app store, at least.
"Yes, that's exactly it!" he said, happy she understood. "It's where you buy things that can make your phone do cooler stuff."
Her understanding seemed to end there, however.
“Though what’s a Google? The name’s quite interesting. Is he someone who created the phone? And why could you learn things from him?”
Having just taken a bite from his hot dog, Marshal laughed, though it came out as more of a cough, his hand flying up to cover his mouth, preventing his food from being ejected. Turning away from Lindsey, he forced the mouthful down his throat, coughing a few more times in the process before he was able to laugh in earnest.
"No, no," he said, regaining his composure. "Google isn't a person. It's a company, actually. They basically own the internet." He added the part about the internet without thinking, but realized it was a mistake as soon as it left his mouth. The internet was a whole different foxhole to go down, and he doubted whether he could explain that even as well as he was explaining smartphones, which wasn't well at all. Then again, he supposed he would have to talk about the internet anyway if he was going to explain what it meant to 'Google' something.
He continued, "The internet is a place where you can go on your phone to search for things. You can type in almost any question you have, and the internet will usually have an answer. That's what it means when somebody says 'Google it.'" He paused, then added hastily, "But be careful about what you search for! There are a lot of weird things on the internet."
Oh dear.
Setting a family who knew next to nothing about modern technology loose on the internet might be a very bad idea. They could be scarred for life. He really wished he had his phone so he could just show her all of this; that would have been so much easier.
Lindsey grabbed a sandwich and took a bite before asking about his family. And apparently, she was the youngest in her own.
"Yep, I'm the first and only one, as far as I know," he responded. But he couldn't quite agree that it was great to be the first magic user in his family. If his family had known about magic sooner, his sister might not have had to die of a sickness. He wasn't positive that magic could have saved her, but he felt fairly certain that it could have helped somehow. It might have been illogical, but he couldn't resist a deep sense of guilt for discovering what he was too late.
His exuberance suddenly gone, his eyes dropped and he drifted into thought, hardly hearing what Lindsey said next. Absentmindedly, he took hold of the rope necklace he wore, gently rubbing the material between his fingers.
The stupor didn't last long, however, as he was quickly brought back to the present by a new voice nearby.
"Hey, Lindsey!"
Hazel eyes rose from the ground to study the newcomer, a girl he had never seen before, sitting on a bench not far from where he and Lindsey stood. She invited them to join her on the bench.
Glancing at Lindsey in an unspoken question of whether she wanted to join the other girl or not, Marshal would wait for his new friend to respond to the stranger, and possibly introduce them. If she chose to join the girl on the bench, then he would follow.

@Serena Towers
Howard nodded along with her and kept a reassuring smile as she talked herself up. The truth was he had no idea how the match would go or how she would fare, but hopefully he had helped calm her nerves, even if just for a few moments. Being the overly nice Badger that she was, Serena’s concern would shift to her teammates. It was a train of thought that that usually Howard would have scoffed at. This was a sport, it’s what you sign up for, but he surely wasn’t going to share that tough neck thinking with her. “Well...” The Dhampir took a moment to search for the right words. “I’m sure they know you’d like to, but it really comes down to the positions, ya know? It’s what they are supposed to do. Best thing you can do is just keep your eyes out for that Snitch. Sooner it’s over the less likely they’ll get injured.” Howard finished the thought with a shrug and an uncertain smirk.
Fortunately the conversation would shift back towards the finer parts of the sport as talk of practice and brooms began. “Oh, I’ve had my eye on the Twigger 90. I’m hoping to tryout for Keeper when the new year starts and that one seemed good for the spot.” Howard had decided last year that this particular position was right for him. He had tried hard to be a faster flyer, but no matter how much he practiced he just couldn’t quite keep up with the other students. However, he had come to realize that his reflexes were far superior than most. Even in a pickup game the other players were barely able to score on him. Howard would search Serena’s eyes for approval in his decision.
As the conversation progressed, the subject of home and family would come next. A topic that was always a sore spot for Howard, but he couldn’t help but want to know more about her. “Oh god!” He said with a chuckle as she spoke of fancy dresses and boring adult parties. As much as he was dreading a reunion with his parents, at least they never forced such things upon him. Although, he wouldn’t mind being her date to one as a quick fantasy played out in his head. The poor Dhampir was always a bit ignorant that one of his blood status probably wouldn’t make it past the door, but a boy can dream. “Sounds dreadful.”
Just like his daydream, all good things must come to an end. Howard should have known that the conversation would have turned to the subject of his own family, but as she asked the words, it stung all the same. He explained where he was from and the issues that he faced as emotion caused his eyes to shine. A weak smile would come to his face as Serena tried her best to console him. “Thanks...and no. I don’t have any family besides them. Well, none that I know of anyways.” Howard began to answer her questions as he prodded the rest of his food around the plate, all appetite lost. “I suppose I’ll have to try and talk it out with them, but I can’t imagine it’s going to change a thing. They already had such a hard time with the whole magic thing and ever since my attack...” His face would scrunch as a mix of anger and sadness tore through him. “I mean look at me. How could they ever...” The words were too hard to say. With a fling of his wrist, Howard would throw his remaining food into the fire as grief and frustration consumed him. “Screw it!”

Google isn’t an encyclopedia like person?!
Her eyes widened because of astonishment. Wow, so this Google was kind of a company that knew lots of things…? Dear, that’s unbelievable. The muggles were so smart nowadays…pretty much smarter than they were before. Even magic couldn’t achieve what the boy told her. Who could simply wave their wand and get the correct answer of something? No one, right? And the girl chuckled.
“Wow.” She couldn’t help muttering. “That’s fantastic!”
Lindsey could catch a bit of disappointment in Marshal’s voice when he told her he was the first and only magical person in his family. That must be disappointing…just like, you were the only non magical person. Being a squib or a muggle was really suffering in Lindsey’s opinion, especially, you were in a magical family. So far, she knew no one like that, though. But maybe she would one day.
She was quite surprised when someone called her name out loud. But soon, the girl grinned. She identified the name as Lucia’s, and she waved back to her fellow badger friend ( “Hey Lucia!”) It seemed that Lucia had finished her talking with the Russian boy (she supposed so), and the Hufflepuff asked whether they would come together, to the bench where she was sitting.
She could feel that Marshal inquired her about her opinion using glances. She gave a pleasant nod to her new friend, and led the boy towards Lucia.
“Fancy seeing you Lucia!” she exclaimed merrily, while taking a seat on the bench. “How are you doing?” And she turned to Marshal. “Marshal, this is Lucia, second year Hufflepuff too. And Lucia, this is Marshal, a first year, which means he’s pretty new to Hogwarts!”
Her introduction seemed really dumb. But at least, the two could get to know each other. She didn’t mention that Lucia was a pureblood, and Marshal was muggleborn. It’s definitely not important, huh? Who still cared about blood statuses these days?
She decided to leave the moment to the two, and took another bite on her sandwich. She could only do the basic introductions, but the further ones should be done on their own. As far as she knew, people preferred to introduce themselves fully by themselves, instead of being represented by another one, whether the person’s their friend or not.[/font]✯ ━━━━━━━━━ ✭ ━━━━━━━━━ ✯

Interacting with @Lindsey Springhall and @Marshal MozorAfter nodding to the boy, Lindsey made her way over to Lucia. The boy followed. The Hufflepuff moved up to give the pair a bit more room (accidentally pushing the can over with her foot as she did so), and Lindsey sat down.
"Well, it was a given we'd bump into each other eventually," Lucia admitted, "There aren't as many people here as I'd thought there would be."
Lindsey asked how Lucia was doing, and the latter shrugged. "Ok, thanks, you? Met a Durmstrang boy who's utterly deluded in the ways of Quidditch - seems to think the Durmstrang team'll win, for some reason." Her eyes sparkled. "I told him I'd see him at Hufflepuff's victory party."
After Lindsey had made the introductions, Lucia held her hand out to the boy. "You're a first year? To be honest, I was suprised you'd be able to come." she said without a hint of malice, refering to the fact that Marshal hadn't started at Hogwarts yet.
She leaned down to pick up the can, and started pulling fuitlessly at the ring again. "Either of you know how to open these?" she asked, giving it another tug. "Merlin, it's like a stupid puzzle or something!"

Welcome BBQ
Interacting with Slava Preobrazhensky (@Ruby Cazares)Margo White quite liked food. She'd spent most of her evening eating and daydreaming so far... but that was before she spotted her most recent acquaintance: her ultimate foe, Slava WeirdLastName. True to his 99.9% arrogant nature, Slava was fooling around with a smaller boy that Margo was not yet acquainted with. And, surprise surprise, he was smirking. Margo smiled slightly at the sight.
Licking the ketchup off of her fingers in a way that her mother would have deemed unladylike, Margo started towards her enemy. Secretly, not that her smile would ever giver it away, she actually liked Slava. Though that didn't change the fact that her confidence was ten times more humourous and a thousand times cleverer than his. Still, their idle banter was, admittedly, nice. He was shockingly quick with his words. It made Margo wonder how long it would take her to learn to insult people in Russian. She gunned. Slytherin ambition could be so useful... though she kind of doubted anybody had the exact same ambitions she did.
They were surprisingly similar, the two teens. Well, apart from the fact that Slava was a talented Quidditch player who always represented his school with a lighthearted grin and an infectious laugh...
It wasn't like she admired him or anything.
Did she mention that they'd only met once? Well she’d also like to mention that she was extremely observant. She had a knack for picking up little details about people and her surroundings.
Margo promptly tripped on an uneven piece of grass, her untied laces almost sending her flying. How on earth had that happened? She’d literally tied them two minutes ago. Thank goodness she wasn't still carrying her second burger. It had been delicious, after all.
The dreamy, food-inspired smile on Margo’s face turned into a smirk when she heard Slava drawl in her ear. She nodded in greeting and walked with him towards the fire, her body language refusing to be lead. She had perfectly functioning legs and eyes, thank you very much. They walked side by side, as equals. The ability to ride a broomstick without screaming didn’t make him superhuman, after all. Nor did it allow him to be chivalrous.
However, Margo decided to forgive him this small oversight when Slava started whispering to her. Her eyes glinted with mischief. Now this was a juicy subject. Time to get down to business.
”Pranking.” She whispered back. ”What do I think? Well, firstly, it’s an excellent pastime, I honestly can’t think of a better way to spend a holiday. Secondly, it’s delightful to witness, as long as you’re not a victim of course. And finally, pranking is something, incidentally, which I consider myself very good at.” Margo smirked. ”Lucky you.”
Let’s just say that Slava wasn’t the only bigheaded, arrogant fool in the vicinity.
”Say, what are your opinions on hair dye?” she asked. ”I possess many different shades... or - ooh! - a drop of that hot sauce almost made my burger into an inferno! That could give someone a nice, fiery surprise, don’t ya reckon?”
A grin like a crocodile and a bob like a funny catfish

RPing as approved Durmstrang iNPC Vyacheslav PreobrazhenskyInteracting with: @Margo White, closed to other interactionsHe had almost reached Margo when she tripped. Perhaps a friend would have run over and asked if she was okay, but they were nemeses, so of course that wouldn't be the case. Besides, this was the perfect opportunity for some light teasing. He couldn't just let it slip away and be forgotten. He was unable to contain the cheeky grin that quickly spread across his lips. A chuckle could be heard as he raised an eyebrow, stretching a hand out in an offer to help her up. “You are falling for me,” he ribbed accusingly, dark eyes full of mirth. He was having a brilliant night so far. It had begun by talking with that pretty girl who had seemed lively and stubborn when she had insisted that the Hogwarts Quidditch team would win, and then he had had that brief but glorious interaction with the boy and managed to get a reaction out of him that was more than satisfying.
And now? Now, he was with Margo, the girl who had intrigued him from the start because of their similarity. She had a fire and boundless energy to match his own, and their shared stubbornness seemed to make everything into a playful competition no matter what. Slava relished it, having someone who didn't brush him away because of his persistence with whatever he wanted to do and didn't scorn him for having endless amounts of energy. But it went deeper than that, any friend of his could simply put up with him. They had only just met, but he had a feeling that she was different from the others he knew. He wanted to be around her more and hear her jokes or just engage in the friendly banter that they had had so far. It was pleasant.
They began walking together, although she made it clear that he wouldn't be directing her in any way, which elicited another smile from the foreign boy. It was foolish to imply that they were anything but equals, and he never would have wanted to say something else. If anything, he had expected Margo to go ahead and take the lead, but this was good, being at her side. The glint in her eyes mirrored his own as they started talking about pranks and she insisted that she was very good at. He didn't understand some of the words that she was using, but he got the point. She listed some ideas for pranks and he grinned. “Hot sauce!” he exclaimed, continuing solemnly with, “You are smart.” He was nodding to himself, seeming deep in thought as he considered all the beautiful pranks that could come of this.
