As she sunk into her seat, she was starting to get this dizzy feeling, she was almost falling asleep right there at the table. She of course tried her best to maintenance in place, as she rested her face on her left palm. Sofia was a very shy girl who never opened up to people, only those who she felt comfortable with, so being in this massive room with a crowd of kids made her want to hide in a puddle and just forget the world, she wanted to go home, home to Spain, London just wasn't right for her. Her friends, she missed her friends and how close she were with them, and her family, she does have a really big family, a big ammount of them that she have never met before, but sure plan to.

The dizzy feeling came once again, she made a quiet noise "Argh...". She held up her neck with her hand and stretched her back, she wasn't feeling herself anymore, she really didn't wanan feel this way, she wanted the pain and emotions to go away, she just wanted to enjoy her timie and make friends, but that was always a task Sofia couldn't do, not without help.

Evan was not a picky eater, and when it came to eating, he eat it all. Everything on his plate, no more and no less. It was like a visit from heaven's loyal chef, it was the best meal he had ever eat down, maybe one of the quickest too. He was starving so much that he didn't notice the floating candles that illuminated the hall, that he didn't notice the amazing quality of the plates he had eaten from, but he didn't care right now, it was just a nice meal. When he finally did finish, after the long moments of evil grins that made their way onto his skull, he looked around. He wanted more, but decided it was best not to eat his life away.

He took the time to look up, it was beautiful, there were no other words to describe the sights in front of his eyes, just beautiful. The candles were enchanted to float, it was like something you'd see in a fairy tale, but he still like it. The plates looked amazing, the entire hall looked amazing. It was one of the best rooms he had ever had the pleasure to find himself in, and he doubted there'd ever be anything to top what he had found himself in. He didn't care about the food, he just cared about what he was seeing, it was marvelous.

It was difficult, but he knew he'd have to leave soon, and began to tear the connection between him and the bench where he had seated himself.

Thora felt a small loss as the hat was removed - she wondered if she might find it later on and talk to it some more - but as soon as she could see and hear properly again, she heard a cheer rising up from a table to her left. She smiled, tentatively, rising from the little stool and moving towards them.

It felt kind of nice to belong somewhere... warm, even.

She made her way to an empty seat, and sat down, feeling uncertain. Before she had to decide whether or not to introduce herself to those nearby, though, the next name had been called. She enjoyed watching people get sorted, guessing in her head whether they would join her new table, or one of the other three. Thora grinned widely when she was right, but otherwise made no outward sign of her own private game.

When the sorting finally ended, and the Headmaster rose up to say a few words, she felt her own stomach growl rather loudly. Embarrassed, she glanced about her, but it seemed she was not alone in hoping that the food would come sooner than later.

The Headmaster, it seemed, felt the same way - or knew how they felt or... something - because his words were very brief, and then there was food on the table where there had been none. Thora gasped at the sudden appearance, eyes widening, as she sat for a moment staring. She continued to stare, trying to determine if it was all real, as many about her reached for food and began filling their plates.

How could Ava hate this place? It was wonderful!

Picking up her plate, she filled it with beef, potatoes, and cooked carrots, eyeing the chicken-legs for later, and began to fill her mouth with delicious food. Bloody hell, was she hungry!

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields.

Lisa had waited with baited breath as the Sorting Hat was placed on her head and the sight of all the faces in the Hall were shrouded by the black innards. Her heart had been pounding so hard she was sure that in the hush that seemed louder than noise, all the students and professors might hear it.

Thehat, it spoke to her and while she was unsure if the conversation waz private or not, the dark haired girl found the odd reedy voice somewhat comforting. She had thought about what house she might be sorted into all day. Would she be a Hufflepuff like her father, a Slytherin like her mother? Or maybe she would be placed somewhere else entirely.

As it turned out, she had been onto something with that particular line of thinking because before long, the Hat had shouted Gryffindor. Hopping down from the stool, Lisa had walked to the table that had erupted in cheers and applause. Gryffindor. She smiled. She was plenty brave, plenty bold. It was a good fit and she couldn't wait to write home to her parents to tell them the good news.

Once the ceremony was complete, the eleven year old settled in among her new house mates as plates were filled with the most delicious array of food.

"Could you pass the pumpkin juice please?" she asked a fellow first year sitting nearby.

Asteria took her seat along side her classmates. She couldn't wait to send an owl to her parents! Her mum would undoubtedly be happy to hear she was placed in Gryffindor, her dad might be a little sad, but she's sure he'd be happy as well. Asteria looked around in shock at all the food, she knew it would be a feast, but this was a lot of  of food. What would happen to anything left over? Thinking carefully, Asteria decided to fill her plate with Roast beef, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots and added some gravy to the roast beef and chicken.
"If you're done with the Pumpkin Juice, can you pass it over please?"
Asteria asked the girl next to her. She wasn't sure how she'd fit dessert in, but she'd sure try, she hadn't eaten since she bought a few sweets from the trolley on the train, and it was a long ride to the school. The next thing she knew, she had just finished eating her dinner, and dessert had appeared on the the. table "Goodness!" Asteria said amused. "How do they expect us to still have room for dessert, after all that dinner?" Trying her best, Asteria took some ice cream, a small slice of pumpkin tart and some rice pudding. "Ugh, I think I'll be full for ages." She muttered to no one in particular.

Wini would be lying if she said she wasn't scared walking away from the sorting hat towards the Gryffindor table. But at the same time, she was fighting to contain her joy. So she politely sat next to a young red head who had also been sorted into Gryffindor like her.

"Hello," She greeted quietly, settling into her seat before eyeing all the food. The smell of the feast made her mouth salivate as she quickly filled her plate. The brunette figured a lot of food would not be a good combination with her nerves, but she couldn't stop herself as she shoveled the meal down her throat.

Wini was absolutely bursting with excitement as her eyes wandered around the hall while she ate, taking in the floating candles above and the numerous amounts of students in the hall. She would send an owl to her mother first thing tomorrow, although she wasn't sure exactly what to write in it. Maybe a lot of exclamation marks to express how thrilled she was.

Wini turned to red head next to her, not quite remembering her name when they called her up to the sorting hat. Something with an A? "Could you pass the cookies please?" She asked kindly, her mouth slightly filled with food as she pointed towards the plate of white chocolate macadamia cookies. They were her absolute favorites.

Asteria was having the time of her life, the students of Gryffindor so far had been warm and welcoming. The Great Hall was filled with the chatter of students. Some telling  funny jokes they heard, others making  even more new friends. Older students were sharing stories of the adventures they had outside of Hogwarts during the summer. Not too far off was a group of first year students, they seemed to be intrigued by the ghosts, who were floating around greeting the students and each other. Who could blame them! It's not everyday you see or talk to a ghost after all! Asteria decided to listen in with a few others, to a group of second years who were telling a pair of first years about their own first year here.

The more she listened, the more intrigued she became. The movement of the staircases, the nasty poltergeist known as peeve's. Asteria remember her parents telling her about the staircases. "When you go to Hogwarts, and need to get somewhere darling, do be sure not to take too much time climbing the stairs." Her mother would say.  "Yes,once they move out of the direction you need to go, it can be quite tricky getting there on time without getting lost." Her father had chimed in, with a tone that sounded as though he had his fair share of experiences with the stairs. She was about to take a bite out of her pumpkin tart when a quiet, kind  and ever so slightly muffled voice came to her from her left. "Hello, could you pass the cookies please?" "Oh," said Asteria as she picked up the plate of cookies. Turning the source of the voice, Asteria noticed it was the girl who was up on the stool not too long after her. She had  long brown hair and what seemed to be grey eyes. What was her name again? the professor had only just said it. "Of course, here you go, and welcome to Gryffindor." Asteria smiled and said warmly. "My name is Asteria Hana, and you? "

“Thank you,” Wini smiled in return, taking the plate and grabbing a few treats before placing them on her own.

“I’m Winifrey Golding, but you can call me Wini,” She introduced cheerfully, choosing to instead this time break the cookie in small pieces. She would eat this food slowly instead of shoveling it in her face. The brunette didn’t want her stomach to be hurting after this, especially on her first night.

“Are you excited to be chosen as Gryffindor?” The small brunette questioned the pretty red head, turning in her seat slightly to face her. She was curious as to what other people thought, which houses were more liked or preferred. Seeing as this was her first time in contact with any other witch or wizard, Wini was buzzing with curiosity.

She finished the cookies quickly, shoving her plate away from so she wouldn’t be tempted to fill it again and taste the magical food once more. The eleven-year old silently reminded herself that she would be here all year, and so would the food. Her stomach did feel quite content anyway.

The Great Hall was loud as the students ate and talked amongst themselves at the same time. Wini’s blue eyes wandered over her table, watching the people that would be her family for the next year. The thought of coming back the year after that made her even more excited.

“Thank you,” The young had responded as she took the plate from Asteria. “I’m Winifrey Golding, but you can call me Wini,” she continued. At first Asteria had felt a bit shy around everyone. But, as time went on, she started feeling a bit more comfortable. 'This isn't so bad.' Asteria thought to herself. For a huge portion of her time on the train to Hogwarts and for a while as she waited to be sorted. Asteria had two gnawing questions itching in the back of her mind. 'What if I don't make any friends?' 'What if I go through the whole year all by myself?'. Asteria didn't like the idea of being in a new place with no friends and no one to talk to.

Asteria watched as the Wini broke up her cookie into small pieces. “Are you excited to be chosen as Gryffindor?”  Wini asked. Asteria smiled, her deep, dark green eyes lighting up. "Yes, of course. My mum was in Gryffindor too! and so was her father." Asteria said happily . "My dad on the other hand, he was in Slytherin, bet it came as a bit of sad news to him though." Asteria gave a smile chuckle at the thought. "But, what about you? Are you excited?" Asteria asked Curiously.

Wini nodded along to Asteria’s response before responding herself. “Well, this is my first time in contact with other wizards and witches. So it’s been a bit interesting,” She stated quietly, diverting her eyes away from the red head.

The train ride had been quiet. Very quiet. She had sat in a booth by herself, simply watching the ride from the window. It was entertaining, in its own way, but she kept fidgeting, wanting to actually do something. And the excitement that was bubbling up inside of her wasn’t helping at all.

“But i’m most excited to do some magic,” She beamed, sitting up in her seat. “I want to duel, and fight in battles, and watch other great wizards and witches fight in battles!” She exclaimed, raising her arms into the air. But she quickly let them drop back to her sides, a blush coming across her face, “Sorry,” She apologized quickly, moving back to sit straight in her seat.

Wini played with her sleeve, “Like I said, this is all very new for me,” She laughed quietly, shifting in her seat as she sniffled slightly and pushed a piece of her hair behind her ear. The room was starting to get a little stuffy from all the people, and being in a black robe was not helping.
