Paisley's footsteps seemed to be five times louder in here than anywhere else. She had the strange feeling that she wasn't supposed to be here, that she would be caught and something terrible would happen to her. But she knew that wasn't the case. She had seen other students walk in and out of here, no problem, so why was she so frightened?
Perhaps it was because the passing of ghosts, the whisper of goblins, and the strange scent of magical creatures was all too much. She had never in her wildest dreams imagined a place this gross and monster-filled. In her nightmares, maybe, she had thought of it. But Hogwarts wasn't a nightmare. In fact, Hogwarts was almost the best thing that had happened to Paisley. She would even say it was the best, if she didn't have to go to the Shrieking Shack every full moon.
She walked around to every grimy sink and looked at them, running her fingers over them lightly. She had heard strange tales of things happening in this very bathroom, but she wasn't sure if she believed them or not. Polyjuice potion, a diary, a ghost, a magical chamber! It was hard to imagine anything special at all happening in this place.
She then took to watching the toilets as they sputtered and made strange noises. She wondered if there was ever a time when it wasn't so dirty and grimy in here. She wondered what would happen if someone came in here and decided it was a usable-lavatory again.
The ghosts wouldn't be happy, she laughed inside of her head. It was rumored there were ghosts living in this very bathroom, somewhere deep within the pipes.
Paisley then took to admiring the windows. All of the windows at Hogwarts were beautiful, even the abandoned ones. Looking out to the beautiufl Hogwarts grounds, she was lost for a moment in a reverie.
When at last Paisley had decided she wanted to go back to the common room for the night, she heard something. She wasn't sure what, but she whipped out her wand, even though she knew no spells yet.
"Who's there?" she called, holding her wand in front of her. "Hello?"

Riley wanted a place to go, sit in silence. She didn't expect anyone to be in there, but just in case she went and hid in one of the stalls. All she needed was to have some time to think. She wanted to try to understand all of the things new to her.Interactions: @Paisley Brown
First, whats a muggle? She'd heard it around a couple of times, and she was pretty sure it meant someone who wasn't magical, but she wasn't completely sure. Also, when was she going to learn spells and potions? Wasn't that like the whole "wizarding" thing? Why hadn't she learned about any of that stuff yet?
She heard footsteps and tried to curl herself up as much as she could. It was pretty easy, considering how tiny she was. She was short, skinny, and just tiny in general. She put her arms around her knees and pulled them closer to her chest, burying her head in between them. She didn't want to be noticed in there, but if she did she guessed it is what it is.
She made a small noise and then got nervous.
"Whos there? Hello?" She heard the girl ask, and she slowly sat up more and stretched her legs out.
"Uh- hello... I promise I won't hurt you"Riley came out of the stall and blushed a little bit and then freaked out when she saw the girl had her wand out
"Oh no! Did I scare you? I'm so sorry I didn't mean to I didn't mean to make that noise!" She felt bad for scaring the girl
"please don't hurt me! I promise I'm nice!"

"Uh- hello... I promise I won't hurt you" The girl's eyes darted to the wand in Paisley's hand and then back up to her. Her eyes were wide and frightened.
"Oh no! Did I scare you? I'm so sorry I didn't mean to I didn't mean to make that noise!" A flash of guilt crossed her face, and Paisley lowered her wand. She felt guilty, too. She hadn't meant to scare this poor classmate.
"please don't hurt me! I promise I'm nice!"
"Sorry! It was just me. I'm just jumpy, that's all. Don't feel bad, it was all me." Paisley let the silence drag on. She seemed to be out of conversation topics for a moment, and she considered just standing there until the girl spoke.
Deciding that this would be a little mean, she spoke, her voice coming out a bit squeaky.
"So, you're in Ravenclaw? I'm in Gryffindor. It's nice to meet you. I'm Paisley, by the way." she said, walking over to the girl. She was petite, and Paisley, standing at 4 feet and 11 inches, felt abnormally tall around her. It was a nice change, since she was usually the same height as everyone else. Paisley knew she was average. Everything about her was normal. Her hair color, her eyes, even her voice seemed as if they were copied in almost every other girl around. The only different thing about her was her lycanthropy, and she wanted that to go away.
Looking into the reflection of the mirror, Paisley could see how disheveled she looked. She put her wand away back into her robes, and tucked her hair behind her ear.
"I don't even know any spells yet," she said, patting her wand pocket. "They're very hard to remember, even after you learn them. That's what I've figured out."

"So, you're in Ravenclaw? I'm in Gryffindor. It's nice to meet you. I'm Paisley, by the way."
"Yeah, I'm in Ravenclaw. I'm Riley, Riley Arcite." The girl, who Riley now knew as Paisley, walked towards her. Paisley was short, but Riley was tiny compared to her. Stupid tiny genes. She'd probably never get to be taller than 5 feet and 3 inches. Tiny.
"I don't even know any spells yet, They're very hard to remember, even after you learn them. That's what I've figured out."
"Neither do I. I'm starting to think they got the wrong kid, especially since I'm a muggle-born. Do you think they can do that, get the wrong kid?" She laughed a little bit about the thought of a muggle going to a wizarding school. They would've been so confused. Riley ran her hands through her hair and adjusted her round glasses. A nervous habit she absolutely hated. Some more include, but are not limited to: biting her nails, jiggling her leg while sitting, tapping her foot, fidgeting a lot, and picking at anything that can be picked at. It was really quite annoying.
She looked around the bathrooms, taking in the scenery. The broken mirrors, dirty sinks, broken doors on the stalls. It was a horrible place, but it was pretty quiet. She knew the rumors of course, about ghosts and creatures like that. She gave a small shiver. She came in there a lot, there weren't people there most of the time. The ghosts had never bothered her, so she wasn't necessarily scared of them.

"Neither do I. I'm starting to think they got the wrong kid, especially since I'm a muggle-born. Do you think they can do that, get the wrong kid?"
Paisley laughed shortly, and shook her head. "I don't think so. It takes time, that's all. My mom, who's magical, is still terrible at brewing potions, even though she's been doing it since her first year." Paisley, realizing this wouldn't make Riley feel any better, spoke again quickly. "Not that it matters, though. She's plenty great at everything else. I bet if you tried casting a spell right now you'd succeed." said Paisley, and then hoped Riley wouldn't try. It could only end badly.
That was when a toilet flushed. Paisley looked at Riley, intrigued. Throughout Paisley's whole time here she had never heard of toilets flushing themselves, but she supposed many things happened within the school that she was unaware of. Nobody else was in here, Paisley was sure of that.
"Do you think-" she walked over to the toilet that had flushed, taking her wand out and pointing it in front of her, even though she knew no spells, as she had said before. She looked at Riley over her shoulder and shrugged.
"I guess it's a habit," she laughed quietly. Her mind whirled and the blood rushed to her head as she peered into the stall.
Paisley saw nothing but the toilet finishing its flushing. She walked back over to Riley, putting her wand away, and wondering what had caused the toilet to do that. It didn't seem as if there had been anything there, and she hadn't heard anyone move.
"That's really strange. I wonder why it did that." she shrugged again and rubbed the scar above her shoulder blade, which wasn't visible beneath her school robes, thank goodness.
"What do you think made that noise? It couldn't have been a ghost...could it?"

"Oh I hope it wasn't a ghost. I don't like them at all. Even the nice ones, they still scare me. I'm not used to any of this. My mum always told me ghosts weren't real, I never needed to worry." She kept nervously glancing at the toilet that flushed.Interactions: @Paisley Brown
"Have you heard of... Moaning Myrtle, I think that's what they call her. Doesn't she live here? Maybe it was her."She gave another small shiver. She didn't like any of this.
"I guess you have a good point, there are witches and wizards who still aren't good at certain things. It just still scares me, I'm nervous I'll never learn magic properly. And there are people here who think that. Like, people with magical parents."She quickly realized what it seemed she was saying, then corrected herself "Not all of them though, I've met some nice... purebloods. Just, some of them thought I shouldn't be here because my parents aren't magical. Muggles, that's what you call them, right? She thought I chose to come here. I mean, I would've if it was a choice, but it wasn't really a choice, was it? Like, I had to go, or I would've gotten in trouble or something"She shrugged, she wasn't sure what would've happened if she chose not to go, and honestly she didn't want to know.

"Blood status doesn't matter." Paisley said shortly. "I'm a half-blood. My dad is pure-muggle, and my mom is pure-witch. I would've been pureblood if I had a different dad, but I don't, so here we are." she said, and then realized it could sound rude, as if she were wishing for a different father. "Not that I wish he was a wizard or anything. I like him the way he is. He never understood magic, not at all. He thinks it all comes down to science and it's just a clever way to manipulate things. I suppose he'd be good at transfiguration..." Paisley trailed off, lost in thought. She still had transfiguration homework to do. She should get that done sometime...@Riley Arcite
That was when something terrifying happened. The window next to the two students creaked. "What was that?" she asked, but before she could get all the words out, something even stranger happened.
The window shattered. Paisley screamed and ducked away, flinging her wand across the bathroom and over to the door. Pieces of glass flew everywhere, as if someone had caused an explosion near the window. She rolled all the way underneath a sink and sat there for a few moments, petrified. She gripped the pipes of the sink, and her hands became covered in the mold and slime. Her breathing was coming in heavily, and her eyes darted all around. She hadn't seen where Riley had gone, for all she knew she was right next to her, clinging to her out of fear. "What was that? Why did that happen?" she asked, gasping for breath. She had never moved so quickly in her whole life. Her reflexes had been working harder than ever before. Had someone exploded the window on purpose, or was it just a coincidence?
"Well," she got out from under the sink on shaky legs at last, gripping the pipes, and then the bottom of the sink, and then the top, all the while rising until she looked into the mirror at her frightened expression. "That was an adventure, wasn't it?" she laughed, but it was dull and not very funny. None of this was even fun anymore. It was just plain scary.
Paisley walked over to her wand and picked it up, observing it carefully. It wasn't damaged, thank goodness. Even though she didn't know how to use it, it had chosen her, and in a way, she was attached to it. She couldn't let it break before she had tested it out on her own a little bit.
