General The Ravenclaw Table 2020 -2021

Hiero blinked as the other two started to talk and realized they were talking to him. Well this was going to be easier than muggle school if this was how the conversations were going to go for him. Well, he hoped it would be. Maybe after today no one would talk to him or want to be his friends or... okay now he was just letting his brain run too fast he had to slow down and just enjoy the moment, as his mother always said.

"Yes, Hieronymus Cortland," He said, introducing himself to Mae and Syl, "But I just go by Hiero, my mom loves those old fashioned names but learning to spell it as a child was a nightmare," Hiero said with a small smile. It was his favorite ice breaker because usually everyone had questions about his name. Although he was beginning to learn that the names of witches and wizards tend to be more like his anyway. Funny, that his mom knew nothing of this world and accidentally gave him a name that fit.

"I'm from Preston, England," Hiero added with a short nod, "Which is north of Manchester, in Lancashire." He explained "It's nice to meet you both too. Is there always this much food?" he asked before eyeing the table again.

"Yes, Hieronymus Cortland," He said introducing himself to both Mei and Sylvain. "But I just go by Hiero, my mom loves those old fashioned names but learning to spell it as a child was a nightmare," Hiero said with a small smile. Mei's face flushed with color again. "It's nice to meet you Hiero." Mei gave him a smile in return her cheeks dusted pink. "I'm from Preston, England," Hiero added with a short nod, "Which is north of Manchester, in Lancashire." He explained "It's nice to meet you both too. Is there always this much food?" he asked then continued eyeing the table again. "I'm not sure as I'm also only a first year." Mei was proud that she had finally managed to say a couple of sentences without stuttering. Mei fidgeted with her hands under the table still slightly nervous. Mei smiled again. "So, Hiero do you like it here so far? I was a bit overwhelmed at first but now i'm not. I'm actually really looking forward to the rest of my years at Hogwarts." Was that too much? Mei thought to herself. She was so nervous that she had started rambling on. If she hadn't stopped herself Hiero wouldn't even be given a chance to respond to her question. Mei scolded herself silently and then looked back up at Hiero. Mei was feeling excited. This boy seemed to be friendly. Mei thought to herself Maybe i'll make my first friend at hogwarts. It can't really be that hard. Can it?

Already covering his plate in an assortment of varied rolls, tarts, and pasties, Sylvain gripped for a goblet of fruit punch. Fruit punch was his favorite, but he held the drink in front of him and sniffed it first. Sometimes food and beverages were unsafe in the wizarding world, and it was best if one took their chances at identifying potential sabotage. Best case scenario, he looked awkward while smelling fruit punch, worst case scenario it was a noxious poison and he caught a light whiff. He didn't spend all summer learning poisons to die playing a game at dinner. After his first whiff, he set the cup back down, electing to drink something later after he was safe in his dorms.

"There is always as much food Hiero. At least when it's appointed to be a meal time there is. Better still you watch your waist and eat smart, don't want to end up in the nurse's office without your memories or turned into a frog." He smirked at them both while chuckling, only slightly serious. There was a small bit of wisdom in being careful about what others put in your punch. Same with chocolate and who you took it from, though accidentally they'd found someone they could trust taking chocolate from. Sylvain turned Heiro and echoed Mei's sentiments. "Yeah, how was the ride here?" It seemed to him that Mei was doing just fine, she even managed to ask a question without stuttering.

Sylvain was already covering his plate with the tarts and pastries. Sylvain reached for a goblet of fruit punch, but he held the drink in front of him and sniffed it first. Mei looked over all the food and also started to pile her plate up with pastries and rolls. She didn't actually dislike tarts she just wasn't in the mood for them. Mei wasn't as thirsty as she was hungry so she decided to not get any fruit punch. "There is always as much food Hiero. At least when it's appointed to be a meal time there is. Better still you watch your waist and eat smart, don't want to end up in the nurse's office without your memories or turned into a frog." Syl smirked at them both while chuckling. Mei was unsure is he was being completely serious or just slightly serious. Mei continues to decorate her plate in different kinds of foods. "Yeah, how was the ride here?" Mei looked at him and Hiero " It was fine for me I didn't really talk to anyone and I sat by myself. I didn't want to bother anyone though. It seemed as if everyone else was coming here with people they already knew so I didn't bother any other students on the train. " Mei was fine sitting by herself she did it all the time whenever she moved to a new school and didn't know anyone there. Mei was really the quiet type when it came to being the new girl at school.

Sylvain smiled as Mei explained how she hadn't bothered anyone on the train, though he did scrunch his brow at the thought of people coming to Hogwarts with students they already knew. "You're not alone there." He said with a slight smile, his face returning to the slight smile from earlier. "I also rode alone on the way here my first year, though not this year." Even though he had been shy, he'd still managed to make friends, so the future seemed hopeful to him.

"Well if you're not too overwhelmed, I can give you a tour of the castle sometime." That had been the true bane of his first year at Hogwarts. It was so easy to get lost in the castle, that it was clearly a purposeful design effort on behalf of the original architect. "Otherwise, you'll have to make it into the Ravenclaw Dorm room. Be forewarned, the door requires an answer to it's riddle if you want to get inside. The riddle changes every day." With that, it seemed as though he'd gotten his fill of sweets and was ready to head off into the castle. His curiosity practically begging him to find something interesting to take apart.

Though he did linger in the event that she still somehow needed his help. "If you need any help, all you have to do is ask."

Jake was at the table thinking about what just happened. He didn't expect to be in Ravenclaw. He wasn't sure which house he wanted to be in either. He wasn't always in the top of his class at his muggle
school.
He wasn't the type to do stuff as soon as possible, he would just leave it until the last moment, and that's why he why he only ever had one friend. "Why was i in Ravenclaw?" he asked himself in a really quiet tone. He hoped he could make some friends here, and hopefully reach his full potential in Ravenclaw! He sat down and started eating soon when the thought struck him again. He tried to push it away, but it kept coming back. He decided to just focus on making new friends. But his legs wouldn't move. He tried to get up again but they still wouldn't move. He just didn't know why he was in Ravenclaw. "I think i'll find out later in life but until then..." He got up finally but then tripped. He got up. "Ugh. I always have to embarrass myself. he said to himself with a frown on his face. He decided to think about the fun he might have here, but if he couldn't stop embarrassing himself, then he wouldn't be able to.

Henry was still in shock over the sorting ceremony. Not only was being a wizard an overwhelming piece of information, but he had just been sorted into what he had interpreted as the smarty-pants house. He was not smart. He was far from smart. His classes back home were hard on him and he always got bad marks. He also had a hard time focusing in classes, so he couldn’t be a part of the smarty-pants house. There had to be something wrong with that magical hat, it had placed him incorrectly.

After the sorting ceremony had ended, food had magically appeared on the table. Startled by yet another sudden display of magic, Henry took a while to grab for some food, watching as others piled things onto their plates. He wasn’t really sure how hungry he was, but he decided to grab a few rolls and some meat. Pouring some gravy onto his plate, he watched people being to eat. Conversations started around him and he felt the warm familiarity with loud conversation and good food. Slowly, his tension melted away. It would likely be back later, but he loved the way this large table full of chatting voices and good food reminded him of home.

As he nibbled on the roll he had grabbed, occasionally dipping it in the gravy, he felt and heard his stomach rumble. Oh, looked like he was really hungry. It had been a long done and his nerves had distracted him from how hungry he had gotten. He began to pile food onto his plate, mouth watering at everything he grabbed. He grabbed something that looked vaguely familiar and went to take a bite. Unfortunately, his elbow hit a gravy boat, spilling the brown goodness all over the table. Whoops.

Waiting on @Willow Linach

Paz goes and sits down at the table, happy to have finally gotten to breakfast after all the drama that happened in the girls dorm this morning. Deciding to wait for her companion Willow to make an appearance after her. She decided to think on what occurred last night, the last time she was in the hall.

Last night after walking in she was sorted into Ravenclaw. Although there was nothing wrong with that she was expecting more that she herself would fit into Slytherin better. Although Ravenclaw was always her favorite house. Paz was just in minor shock when the hat called out Ravenclaw, though she was glad she was welcomed into the house.

While wondering where Willow had gone, Paz decided to think about what she would want for breakfast. Not thinking they would let an eleven year old drink coffee, and Paz not being a fan of pumpkin juice decided to settle for orange juice. Though what to eat with that has always been a problem. Not sure if she should have sweets or not for breakfast.

Then out of the corner of her eye she spots her friend entering the hall. Happy to see she finally showed up after some random delay. Paz decided to wave slightly towards the door in a gesturing movement to Willow.

After entering the hall, Willow noticed her new friend immediately and quickly ran over to her. “Hello. Sorry about the delay, I dropped some of my books.” She chuckled slightly, a little embarrassed.

Looking at all of her choices, she felt overwhelmed. She had never experienced this much food at home. She was cautious to take things, so she settled on some orange juice. “Pumpkin juice? That’s a bit odd. I’ve never heard of that. I don’t really
like pumpkins.” Willow rambled on, taking a large gulp of orange juice right after she finished talking.

Although she was hungry, she didn’t often eat a lot and she was also pretty nervous to take the food. There were so many people around, what if they thought she was greedy? She already hated eating in front of people.

After staring at the food for a while (knowing that Paz was probably studying her face) she turned to her and waited for her to take something first. Maybe she would be less nervous that way, and she would have an idea of what to eat too. Willow never really had a good relationship with food but she was certainly trying to change that.

Paz shakes her head at Willow in amusement hearing that she dropped her books before gesturing to her bag, that was carrying her books. Waiting for the realization to hit Willow. Noticing that Willow didn't see her gesture she noticed that Willow was rambling on about pumpkins and how she didn't like them.

After she stopped rambling and took a sip on some orange juice that she herself was also sipping on some then. Paz made to study her friends face as she looked at all the food realized that her friend had even more nerves then she realized. Knowing she was probably waiting on her, Paz reached out to grab some chocolate chip pancakes, strawberries and bacon. Moving each onto her plate before finally deciding to talk.

"Pumpkin juice is actually a staple here in the wizarding world though since I grew up in both world I also find orange juice a bit more appealing. Also you shouldn't be afraid to eat. The foods not going to bite you and if I remember correctly you did eat at the feast yesterday when more people were staring at us first years."

Knowing that this probably didn't make her friend feel better Paz reached out to grab onto what she decided for breakfast and put it onto Willows plate. Grabbing a piece of each she put it on Willows plate gesturing that it was what she should eat. Knowing that it was in smaller portions then what she put onto her own plate she knew that Willow shouldn't have any problems. Knowing that other people's opinions bothered her from what she's seen from earlier this morning. After studying Willows face for a bit more Paz decided to finally take a bite from her plate moaning in relief that the pancakes tasted like home and the strawberries had just the right amount of tang to them.
