Round 2 - Early Morning

Round two.
It was beginning much as the last early morning encounter with Aemadall Zarcovich. Alina found herself awake early and to the Gryffindor Tower where she had to wait for someone else as awake as insanely early as she was.
She got lucky and once again it was a Gryffindor boy. In fact it was the same Gryffindor boy. Deja vu. ...But this couldn't end the same way the last early morning meeting went. Never.
"So umm...can I ask another favor?" she asked with a bright smile again. Those green eyes of hers would get her far in life with the right person and they were working on the Gryffindor boy. She slipped him a note which said 'Logan Zarcovich' on the front. He knew what to do. Take the note up to the boys' dormitory and deliver it, waking the recipient. It was a note, asking him to meet her that morning at the Lake.
Alina thanked the boy and headed off to the bank of the Great Lake. She had good memories there of sitting with thoughts to herself, meeting some of the creatures that lived close-by, talks with her sister, tree climbing competitions, times with friends, and even showing Logan himself the view. The Lake was one of a small handful of places that if you couldn't find Alina Rosier and needed to, she just might be there.
Today she was there because she missed the face, the voice, and the company of a certain Gryffindor. Now the last time she had him meet her early in the morning she nearly shattered everything between them but she knew that wouldn't be the case this time. This time, an early morning picnic sounded nice and she hoped that Logan would agree. She enjoyed spending this one on one time with him, just being together in whatever it was they were. Friends didn't feel like the right term and well it certainly felt like more, he hadn't officially asked her to be his girlfriend.
The breeze blew just softly enough to whisper it was there and she smiled. It was heading into Autumn and such a perfect day for it. A great day for a picnic, and perhaps close friends, conversation, and who knew - maybe even a swim in the lake.

It was a calm morning when one of Logan's dormmates, that same guy who told him to meet Alina at the grounds, woke him up and didn't just send him to her, he also gave him a package. He saw books. Not just any books. Ones in Scots Gaelic and Russian. Then and there, a smile appeared on her face. He knew he had to thank her so he went to the Great Lake.
It was a similar series of events that totally murdered their relationship on the bridge, but he knew that this was gonna be different and neither of them were gonna do anything stupid
As he approached the lake, he saw the face of the hufflepuff that he'd been dying to see. He ran up to her and saw what he called her for. A picnic. He certainly hasn't had one of those in a while.He said as he sat down next to Alina. He thought about the books that she had sent to him."Wow, this is amazing"She knew he wasn't the poetic or deep type and she chose right. He wanted to say that he was happy they were friends but that didn't seem right. He didn't know if he was her boyfriend. He fought the urge to do something stupid we'd ask her, but this time, curiosity won and Logan lost."Thanks for the books, Alina. I'm glad you picked stuff that were directly related to me""Uhh... A-Alina, please don't run but, am I your boyfriend or are we just friends"

She was happy to do it. She had lots of books herself in French and felt that helped her when she had no one to converse with. All she had to do was read the pages every so often and she'd refresh herself on the language and if he could do something to hold onto his languages, especially the one he feared losing of his mother's, she would do anything to help. Even if that included learning the language herself - although he said it was tricky. Still, that didn't stop her from purchasing her own book on learning the language. She could make the attempt, right?
Alina was pouring him some lemonade when he asked the weighted question. Am I your boyfriend or are we just friends? She paused when the words were said but then finished pouring the glass and handed it out to him. "Well, I guess that all depends," she said slowly.
She watched him, trying to study his face on what he wanted. She thought of the kiss, him saying he was like the stable boy who fell in love with the princess. Certainly he thought of them as more than friends, yes?
And then there was her. She had grown quite fond of the boy and whenever they weren't together he was often on her mind. "Friends? Yes. Definitely," she answered him. "Just friends? No. More than that."
"But how much more than that, I don't really know," she said and moved a little closer to him. "I mean, for you to be my boyfriend or me to be your girlfriend, one of us would have to ask and I don't recall you asking..." she smiled, being playful with him. "Not to say I wouldn't but I was brought up rather old school in that the boy does that sort of thing..."
She was implying that yes, she wanted that. And while he might not think he was poetic and whatnot, that was okay. She liked him for him and if he so wanted to ask her, any sort of way he asked would be more than fine.

Logan mentally facepalmed himself when he asked if he was Alina's girlfriend. She obviously expected him to ask and he never did. All he did was assume that they were officially dating and he never even bother to check what the relationship was like on her end.He wanted to let her know how he felt. Exactly how he felt."Maybe it's best if I don't leave you in the dark anymore"He took a sip from the lemonade and held her hand."Let's make it official them""I always fancied you. From the time I bumped into you, to right here and right now"It might have felt a little awkward for all involved but he didn't care. He wanted their relationship to be more and if that meant getting way out of his comfort zone, then so be it."I know I may... will not be the romantic type but that won't stop me from asking"
He held her hand tight with both of his hands and he looked directly into her green eyes. He didn't want anything to distract him.He was a mess when he got on the Hogwarts Express but now he felt like Hogwarts was more like home than his real home ever was. And it was all because of her. He took a deep breath and said,"I don't want us to just be be friends. I want more""W-Will you be my girlfriend? If no, then that's okay too.

She smiled to him, knowing it wasn't good that he was nervous but at the same time she found it endearing and knew that he was doing this despite his nerves for her. A true Gryffindor.
"We haven't just been friends for awhile," she admitted to him and squeezed his hand encouragingly. They had been closer than that and she was glad to have found him.
Girlfriend was a big step though from more than friends. Girlfriend meant something big to her - something important to her. Girlfriend carried a promise that she would be faithful to him and he would in turn be faithful to her. It was something she knew she could carry out.
She knew it was something that she wanted.
Slowly she moved one hand from his to bring up to his face, brushing aside some of that hair that fell close to his face and smiled because he was simply adorable. "No need to be nervous, Logan" she whispered to him, "I would love to be your girlfriend."
She wondered if he'd grow tired of all the time she wanted to spend with him but hoped not. The more she saw of him the more time she wanted to spend with him. She wondered if he'd grow tired of all the times that she wanted to kiss him but hoped not, as her lips craved to be against his.
Alina leaned in slowly so that her lips touched against his and she took in that warm soft feeling that he gave her. It was hard to take this step after how horribly her last relationship had ended, but Logan made it easier for her with each day that passed.
She drew back and smiled to him. "I guess I can now officially call you my Stable Boy," she smiled. Not just a stable boy who loved a princess. HER stable boy.

Logan felt ecstatic to finally have a girlfriend. When Alina said yes, Logan felt like he was lying in a field of flowers with Alina. The picnic was the last thing on his mind at that point in time. In fact, nothing seemed worthy of his attention anymore from the picnic, to the field, to even the ever beautiful great lake. The only sight worthy seeing was Alina. Nothing more, nothing less.
He wanted to hold her hand and looked at her forever, but of course, he had school activities too.
They kissed each other yet again and he felt a slight shock run through his body. This was truly the greatest day of his life.
"I guess I can now officially call you my Stable Boy" she said, smiling at him.He said, smiling back. He looked back at his lemonade and took another sip. There was an incident that happened when I was boat riding over the lake the Hogwarts for the first time."And I guess I can call you my princess""You ever seen the giant squid that lives in the lake? It seemed friendly when I met it. I wonder what other creature lives here that remain hidden.

She smiled at him, still thinking of the fact that they were finally on the very same page here. Both knew they liked the other for awhile but now they had a title and that somehow made things all the better. But she also smiled because he got to meet the Giant Squid?!
"I've heard stories of the Giant Squid but I've never so much as seen a tentacle from him," she said as she stared out to the large body of water before them. "I've heard there's also Grindylows and Merpeople but I haven't seen them either. I've only come across a small horde of imps who threw acorns at me," she said and laughed softly, thinking back to the incident.
"They of course didn't live in the lake, just nearby. I think they might live in that grove of trees over there," she said, pointing to the area that wasn't the Forbidden Forest. She figured, if she was an imp, that would be a nice place to live and they were sort of near that general area.
"What was it like?" she said as she got up and went to the water's edge. She peered in but saw nothing as the water was deep, making it look dark that morning. "The Giant Squid? When did you see him?" that fascinated her and she wanted to learn more.

Apparently, she hadn't seen the squid before. Only merpeople, imps and something called a grindylow. Logan made a mental note to use his spare time to do some research on magical Creatures since everyone he met was well versed in those areas and he on the other hand was left clueless.
She got up and went to the water's edge. Logan finished his lemonade before going to meet her. She fired some squid related questions at him and he said,He remembered it like it was a couple seconds ago. The names, the squid colour, everything."I saw him... it when me and a bunch of other first years were boat riding to Hogwarts"He looked at Alina, smiling. He shot his hands up in a highly dramatic way as if to demonstrate a geyser."A kid named Remi, jumped in the lake to save his friend, Elisabeth, and then it happened"He thought it was wild and vicious but it seemed calm and domesticated. It just didn't want them swimming over its habitat."A huge red tentacle shot out of the water and grabbed them. Everyone lost their cool and began to freak out. I thought they were done for sure, but it raised then up and instead out eating them. It dropped them in the boat with the two adults."

"That is amazing," she said. Her boat ride over had been a slow, boring boat ride, filled with her twin sister talking a mile a minute. No one out of the water and definitely no squid sightings. "See? You were bound to have an exciting year from the start," she smiled.
Alina leaned in closer to the water to feel the temperature. It was cold. VERY cold. That's what one got for not only being near the Great Lake in the early morning but also nearing the end of September. After all, it was officially Autumn now.
"I've always wanted to swim in here," she said. "That's one of the few things I miss from home. Swimming. We have some outdoor pools and some indoor pools at Updown Court. “Updown Court was the fancy name for her estate, named long before the Rosiers became its residents. And yes, she meant pools as in plural - multiple outdoor pools and multiple indoor pools. Five in all.
She decided she'd fight back the urge though. She came back to where he was and smiled to him before grabbing one of the doughnuts she had packed. It had a lemon glaze frosting and was absolutely delicious. Alina never did understand her love of lemon, but it had been there ever since she could remember.
She took a few bites but couldn't seem to shake that urge. "I know the old saying is that one shouldn't swim just after eating, but that's just a silly old saying, isn't it?" she said and stood up again, walking back to the water. "What do you say, boyfriend? Fancy a swim?"
He didn't have to follow but she didn't wait his response before diving into the dark frigid water, clothes and all.

Logan was ready for a relaxing picnic day. Sitting by the lake, talking, and sharing a calm morning together. But no, Alina just had to jump in the lake with my consent. It was nice to know that Alina wasn't a boring girlfriend but this was crazy.
She jumped into the lake with her clothes still on. Logan ran to the lake and yelled,He felt the water and it was really cold. He did something he knew he was gonna regret. He took his shirt off and jumped in the freezing cold lake. To be honest, Logan didn't know why the heck he jumped in or even ripped his shirt off, but he did."ALINA!"
He swam quickly over to Alina and grabbed her because he was afraid she might drown.He said as he let go off her."Why the hell did you do that!?"He swam back to the shore and sat at the very edge of the lake as he put his shirt back on."Sorry for that, but this was crazy. I would really appreciate a little heads up next time, okay?""I know this might sound a bit overprotective but I was a bit worried about you. Apparently, you're a great swimmer."
