Xeno was born to a half-blood witch, called Zoe Blackthorn, and a wealthy muggle, called Ximen Oldhill. The reason for his name, in fact, is that it is traditional for his father's family to have names that begin with X.

When Xeno was six, his father saw his performing accidental magic. As Zoe had never told him of the wizarding world, he believed his son was possessed. Zoe ended up telling him, and he was furious, cursing her and all of magic. After a long fight, he filed for a divorce, disowned Xeno and threw them both out. They travelled together to Glasgow, where Zoe found a job and Xeno continued his schooling. In school, he was bullied for his strange name and 'wild imagination'. This lead him to be insecure, and made him very nervous about introducing himself, as the response was typically "Xeno-what-now? What kind of name is that?"

After that, she taught him more about magic, giving him books, telling him stories, even letting him use her wand and try to cast some of the simple spells in the book. He managed to master Lumos and Wingardium Leviosa, and got pretty good at a few others. The experience of his mother teaching him spells, with so much passion, is what fuelled his thirst for knowledge. He couldn't wait to get to Hogwarts so he could try potions.

When he turned eleven, he took his first-ever floo ride to platform 9^3/4, and boarded the Hogwarts Express, going, at last, to Hogwarts, where he was sorted into Slytherin.




Xeno is generally kind, but not afraid to try and benefit himself by manipulating others. Of course, this is only to a certain degree; he is not cruel, or heartless, and he would never put his friends in an inescapable situation using blackmail or any other means.

He is extremely shy and even anxious about meeting new people and having to introduce himself, but is a fast friend as long as you treat him kindly. However, he is not stupidly loyal, and should you betray him, he will not forgive you easily, and he will never forget.

He can be a bit reckless at times, and this can lead to trouble. He often beats himself up over things he does, making them seem like a bigger deal in his head

He enjoys friendly and competitive games, but not senseless violence. He would love to try flying a broom, but he has never had a chance. His favourite colour is purple, and he absolutely loves snakes, especially black mambas, even though they are extremely dangerous. He wishes he were a parseltounge, but no such luck.

One of his favourite hobbies is ceilidh dancing, which is a type of traditional Scottish dancing. He also loves to read, whether it's fiction or non-fiction, he enjoys gaining knowledge from any book he can get his hands on.

He hasn't seen his father for years, and has very few fond memories of him.
