Finnally it was starting to look and feel like fall in the Scottish mountains at Hogwarts. Everybody was wearing sweaters, and getting ready for the cold that was probably soon to come. Jo was reading a letter sent to her from somebody that didn't write their name on it... maybe one of her old muggle " friends " had asked her parents to send this to her through her parents? As she read through it, she had just gotten an invitation to go to a mall in her hometown she muttered to what must be to Jo pretty quietly but for others in a talking voice

"Pfft, like we have money for that" she said sarcastically ripping up the letter into bits. She hated those people from the bottom of her heart now that she knew how to mean and manipulating they were. She felt so hurt finding out that they just weren't someone that she could trust, and she felt like the "friend" had been forced to write the letter by their parents. She felt sure of it. I mean they only hung out together when their parents forced them to. Did they have a choice? No.

From across the yard she saw a lean figure and made eyecontact. This was definetly going to be more then just a glare and a frown.

The Courtyard, one of the many busy places in the Hogwarts castle. Although she didn't find herself coming out here much, she decided today was a nice opportunity to get some fresh air considering how much time she spent bunched up in the Ravenclaw common room.

There were all sorts of students out, their eyes following her as she leaned against a nearby pillar. Some looked at her as if she were scum, and then there were others who simply averted their gaze as if she didn't exist. It didn't get to her that much, as she had specifically put up this reputation for herself on purpose.
Why, you ask? She honestly hadn't a clue. Perhaps it was because of the fact that she had a massive superiority complex and couldn't stand to interact with anyone else at will; That, or it could possibly be a sort of defense mechanism, maybe an underlying fear of being judged.

Regardless, she ignored the stares and stared up at the sky. It wasn't often she was left with spare time, almost leaving her confused as to what students did around here for fun.
Before she could conjure something up, though, her thought was interrupted by an obviously annoyed voice.

She turned her had rather quickly, her ears searching intently for a target. Her eyes fell upon a girl with striking red hair, her facade visibly distressed. As much as she tried to convince herself this wasn't a perfect opportunity to cause some fun, she was unsuccessful and found herself walking over anyway.
She strode over to the girl gracefully, her finger twirling her hair.

"Enough for what, hm?"[/quote]

The heard footsteps on the rock floor tok tok tok tok, as Jo looked up she saw the girl striding towards her. Well, this would be fun, wouldn't it?
"Enough for what Hm?" the girl said as she twirled her finger around her chestnut coloured hair, it was a pretty colour but it didn't matter right now.
For some odd reason, Jo wanted to say something other than the reason, but she had to think about it. Best way to reply.
"For me to go somewhere with some muggles why?" she said staring at the girl. She noticed that most people ignored the girl, maybe she was lonely, and was picking on someone to entertain herself? Think, Think her thought tinkered after a moment.
"Want to go instead?" she asked trying not to let down her guard. "You seem like you can afford to go shopping in muggle malls" she smiled at the girl, maybe she had hit 2 birds with one stone, she wouldn't have to go with the muggle "friends" and the girl might have some fun with it. But first Introductions.

"My names Jo, Josette Rutledge to be specific." she smiled at the girl and stuck out her hand. I mean Jo had thought of a back-up plan if anything went wrong and she was GLAD to give away the opportunity to anybody, as long as she didn't have to see those faces. As long as this stayed a voiced concern or discussion Jo could deal with. Could or Couldn't? Could or couldn't?

Lana grimaced at the word muggle, a subconscious reaction that happened everytime the topic was brought up.
The girl's innocence amused her though, even if she was incredibly stupid enough to think Lana would really hang out with someone as puny as her. There seemed to be a shed of hope in her eyes, though, as if Lana was actually going to befriend her.

"Me? Shopping in a muggle mall? With you?" She seemed surprised at the fact that this girl actually thought she'd tolerate such a thing, causing her to clench her fists. Did she really look that stupid?
Lana cut her eyes sharply as the girl introduced herself, not bothering to care. Josette.. Ugly name, she'd thought; No doubt she was a muggle-born herself.

Lana looked distastefully at her, her expression blank. She stopped her mid-sentence, putting up a hand.
"I don't think I recall asking." She said bluntly, her eyes gray and unforgiving. It was true, she didn't care what this girl had to say. The entire purpose of engaging in conversation was to taunt her, but even now she seemed to be uninterested.

Her next thought was to use her, an experiment if you will. She'd never dared to interact with someone muggle-born due to the beliefs she held, though she didn't particularly have to befriend her either. More so lead her on, then use the information she could gain against her.

"Lana, Lana Monet. What year are you in?"

The reply was something she had might expect from someone who looks like her, she wasn't biased just a bit sceptical the moment she saw her.

"Oh I'm not going shopping, I hate them if you haven't realized by this ripped up paper" she said, though usually, her tone was somewhat bright and warm it was a bit colder then it was.

Now to plan B, Just use your non-existent wits to make her not punch you in the face.

"Well I dont really recall you not asking either, but it's all Muggle tradition and all, you know a bit of practice pretending you're a muggle never hurt." she said oddly bluntly, she only liked to speak like that if she knew this might not turn out the best. She put her hand down while stuffing the ripped up paper into her pockets.

"1st, thanks for Asking. You seem like a 2nd year to me though." She said, the girl did look like she knew a few spells that could definitely not make her enjoy this interaction in any way shape or form.

"I would have muggle connections to be honest, but all the ones I do or did have weren't the nicest." this was true and sad, depending on your views. The girl did seem to have the classic thinking of a pure-blood from her expressions and movements toward her. Her options were probably wizard born and Pure-blood, but that really didn't matter. She had a friend that was a half-blood, so what was just a pure-blood probably doing this to just tease her, which might have been stupid on Lana's part if jo had wits. Would her blood status really matter like in the Second wizarding war? I mean most people were already behind it, and it is Almost idiotic in Jo's perspective to judge someone on whether their parents are magical or not.
