A Long Time Coming
They had woken up the other day with save the date notifications for probably another masquerade ball happening in October literally everywhere. Santario still found herself brushing the cards out of her way at every meal. It was like the things multiplied like rabbits overnight somehow. She would sigh heavily, pushing them off her seat during lunchtime. It would have been a quiet and quick mealtime for Santario, only speaking when spoken to. A lot weighed on the girl’s mind, and one of them was one of her closest friends and how he was really doing. So right before standing up and leaving, she slipped him a note.
Summer had been interesting, to say the least, and before summer even happened, she knew Erik had something bothering him, more than the tension that had formed between them before they fixed it. She also didn’t think it was anything to do with him being a werewolf, other than perhaps what happened that day over summer. Seeing him like that upset her, but at the same time, a part of that was the werewolf's nature. She was thankful that she had found out that he was a werewolf and didn't try to hide it from her when she confronted him. That knowledge allowed her to approach him differently in different situations, and that alone was invaluable. She had broken through to him once during that day, and she knew even when he was like that, he was still reachable and, in the end, that is what really mattered.
Here in the trophy room, she found herself leaning against some sort of statue in her school robes, her book bag on the floor by her feet. She wasn’t a hundred percent sure when Erik’s last class was done for the day, given that he was a year ahead of her. So she waited.
She had thought about where to ask him to meet her all morning since it needed to be somewhere slightly secluded, giving them more privacy than usual. This immediately rules out their common room, the courtyard, and many other places. Even the abandoned bathrooms seemed to be a hotspot for people to cluster together. Then it dawned on her, though. The trophy room… People hardly ever went in there, and it was probably one of the most unlikely places for someone to just stumble on them and their conversation. They weren’t going to be breaking any rules, so she wasn’t worried about professors and prefects, but this was a private conversation, and it required discretion if she was going to get him to open up to her.Erik –
Meet me in the Trophy room after classes. I need to talk to you.
