Books And Two Friends Alina Roiser Closed

Alina had made friends with several of the portraits of Hogwarts. There was Poppy, who lived outside the Hospital Wing with her basket of wildflowers and there was her portrait cat Artemindora. She had a soft spot for them, but some were just plain rude and some were just plain annoying. These particular two outside the library were always on about some debate or another.

She smiled as she saw her friend snap at them. "You tell 'em, Mer!" she encouraged and hurried up a little more to catch up with her as she entered the library. She greeted her friend and the two headede to find a free table. With the end of the school year approaching, it wasn't impossible but more difficult as there were more students than normal occupying the space. Several students were trying to finish the assignments, projects, and essays that they neglected far too long. It was kind of amusing to see. It was a room once full mainly of Ravenclaws but now occupied those of every color of robes.

"How've you been?" she asked as they found their table and she got settled in. Alina was the type that once in a space liked to set things out until they were specifically to her liking - her bag just so, her notebook over here, etc.

" Oh! Hey Alina! These two portraits were talking about something that would just be awful if it did happen. "
The sound of Alina's voice had startled Meredith she still thinking it was around nine.
I have been quite good if you mean good as being like me bending rules and uhhh starting some sort of rumor about someone who can talk to snakes..." She said with a awkward smile.
" should not of said that at all."
Meredith knew Alina would most definitely have something to say about this if she knew Alina at all.
Expecting something that Alina would say Meredith started to focus on a book she had grabbed about well, pretty much all the magical animals there are.
" Soooooo... I got to tell you something about what will be happening soon and saying soon I mean in like a week or so, and it is about my dad and a annoying Ravenclaw girl who can't stop talking."
" I most likely should of thought about telling her another time because I just well, I really don't know but Alina looks a teeny weeny bit annoyed or mad maybe."
Meredith thought about running but Alina was faster. Even though she was small she was like lightning.

She was curious. She first wanted to ask about the rumor part because that was a pretty specific statement and probably meant that Meredith WAS spreading rumors about someone but the second part somehow seemed more urgent in Meredith's tone. Something that was happening soon.

She sat down on a nearby chair and folded her legs up underneath her to get more comfortable, not sure if they'd be there awhile but comfort was always a must.

Something about Meredith's dad and a Ravenclaw girl. Alina didn't have very good experiences with Ravenclaws either after spending a night in the hospital wing her first year after two Ravenclaw girls blamed her for their low OWL scores. She shuttered, hoping it wasn't one of them because that would be REALLY bad and she didn't want Meredith mixed up with either of them.

"What's happening soon? What's going on with your dad and the girl?" Her first thought was something random like adoption or something and Meredith would be getting a sister. That would be so odd. That would be like after all this time her father just poof - got more kids. She couldn't see that happening though, as fatherhood wasn't really on his radar again anymore.

"What's happening soon? What's going on with your dad and the girl?

" Well, h-he is getting married to Aura Lee's mum, and I might have a small teeny weeny little problem with that because he's having the wedding in Paris, France. I might also kinda have to uh leave for like three months to Paris."
Meredith felt a lot better telling her all the smaller details first.
" Maybe it won't be to terribly bad since I might only be gone for three months or more like three years." She thought of ways she could tell Alina that she would be leaving Hogwarts soon for a few years and might not be able to come back ever.
" But I might just maybe be leaving Hogwarts for well i don't know uh maybe like um a few years... uhhh yeah."
Meredith looked at Alina's face and she knew that she would want all the details once she found out were Aura is and why she is alive.
" I wish that I would have more time... Maybe I could change the subject, no Alina would bring it back. I think I can tell her about Lava and that could work."
" On a bit more sad note I had to let Lava go..."

"Really?" she asked softly, not wanting to make this about her because this was about Meredith and EVERYTHING changing for her. "You too?"

Things were becoming so crazy anymore though. Bella had decided not to come back to Hogwarts and transferred to Beauxbatons. Her father, who had been more of a parent than ever in one summer, stopped suddenly after trying to find a lost love.

Juliette, who returned in a night's time to visit for a couple days vanished without a word (and also the reason her father had been gone).

Clifton was gone, no longer a student at Hogwarts.

And now Meredith might be leaving too. Alina felt so alone anymore within the castle walls.

"Mer, I'm so sorry," she whispered to her quietly, still a bit taken aback by the sudden news. "That could change...everything." In fact, over the Summer there was a brief talk with her and another friend, Rose Moon, about possibly getting their parents together but Rose helped Alina see that might not be a good thing. With other siblings and different houses in different places it would just be too much to try and make work and only lead to consequences. That was exactly what Meredith was going to be facing. "Can I do anything to help"

Meredith thinks but only slightly her mind on more things.
" Not really Alina, Unless you can somehow stop the wedding or something but other then that no. Just promise me one thing, that no matter what happens you will not change a bit."
Meredith smiles slightly and says, " And we must remain friends. 'Kay?"
Meredith then reaches into her bag and pulls out a small yellow mocking bird necklace . Meredith holds it out towards Alina and tells her, " It's a bird because that is the animal that you remind me of, a bird can be sweet and pleasant sometimes but other time scary, fierce and brave."
I weak smile comes across Meredith's face as she hands it to Alina.
Meredith remembers how it was back at her house before Hogwarts, Lonely, boring, dark, and quiet.
But ever since she had came here her life had been, loud, bright, happy, and she had a friend witch was better then before.
" I didn't want this to happen but it is so we need to find a way to get the wedding canceled,"
And as Alina had said on the first day they had met, " You in? "

She looked down to the necklace and back up to Meredith and smiled. She loved it. She didn't get a lot of personalized gifts like this so it meant a lot, especially coming from one of her best friends. "Mer, that's so nice of you," she said to her and smiled before undoing the clasp and putting the necklace on right away.

And whats more, she was glad that her friend knew she could turn to her for help. Maybe it wouldn't be possible to break up the wedding but that didn't mean they couldn't try. Alina was always a very determined individual and if she didn't accomplish something, it wasn't due to lack of trying.

She thought about it quickly through her mind. This wasn't a simple task. This was two twelve year old girls, maybe eleven depending on when Meredith's Birthday was, and they were tackling adult issues. Still, that wouldn't stop her either.

"I wonder what Aura Lee's mother is like," she said, thinking out loud more than anything. Her father had a history of being a womanizer and maybe if he could find her, be with her, it would be enough to break up the planned wedding. After all, very few people would go ahead and marry someone who wasn't faithful to them.

...But that was asking quite a lot from her father and she really hadn't any contact with him since weeks before the school year started. Maybe that idea was out. There was always writing letters, Mer pretending to be her father, and meddling with Aura Lee's mother's thoughts but that didn't seem right. Not to this Hufflepuff.
