Ami's jaw dropped open in surprise as three more professors seemed to materialize out of thin air, although their faces were still relatively new to her, although all of them frightened her in one way or another. @Marcus Iwasaki, for instance, looked like he could snap her back in half with his pinky, and had an aura that made a chill run through the Hufflepuff's body. Or take @Jean-Papi Dupont, a face that she would be visiting before long, with his terrifying mustache that he presumably stole off of Mario. His confidence was... admirable, though, and Ami cheered as he made his way over to the professors' side. @Gargott Dunaid simply baffled her, and she couldn't help but stare at the stout professor who'd simply taken a seat on the rope. Did he not know how to play the game...?

(And had Ami actually seen her Divination professor's reaction to her biceps, she most certainly would've thrown @Rosalind Kibitzer a saucy little wink for good measure. But alas, she didn't.)

But no matter. Ami's attention was whisked away from the various professors she had aligned herself with as she saw @Willow Anderson, @Cecily Quinn, and @River Dewlight join the professors as well, cheering loudly at their arrival. "You birds better put those Quidditch muscles to work!" she called over to the Ravenclaws, before tightening her grip on the rope.

At Willow's mark, Ami began to pull, using the weight of her body to try and gain some purchase on the ground with her feet. Slowly but surely, the professors (plus a few extra students) managed to haul the rope in their direction. She could hear some students making the grave mistake of antagonizing some of the professors who had ended up closer to the center of the rope, and she only shook her head at them. Did they really want to bet when it was clear that they would lose?

Glancing around as her muscles strained against the rope, she called to @Hjørdis Jensen, "Pull, Professor Jensen! Surely the Silver Knight can out-pull a couple of kids?" Spotting her own Head of House nearby as well, she decided to drag poor @Caradoc Browne into it as she added, "You can definitely out-pull Professor Browne, can't you?"

As the participants all had been arriving, River took a good scan of all of them. Especially those she’d be going up against. The professors. Part of her told her that they’d have zero chance of a win against them, but then, on the other hand they were quite outnumbered.
Just as the redhead had begun thinking of how they could best use their advantages, someone approached her and the other ravenclaw prefect who were there. It was Willow, wondering if they’d be willing to help the team of professors out. She slightly doubted her aid would make much of a difference, but decided it wouldn’t hurt, considering their lack of members against a large team of students. «Sure thing», River replied as Willow had proposed their switch of teams.

She followed as the other prefects got situated by the other side of the rope. Reaching down to grab hold of the rope on the ground, she heard a familiar voice call out, looking up she saw Ami looking in their direction. «You got it Ami!», she called back and gave her a determined nod, hoping the hufflepuff would understand she would give it her best effort.
That small tense moment of anticipation happened, just waiting for the starting signal, before the clear was finally given. Tightening her grip of the rope, she gave it as good of a tug as she could possibly muster. Breathing out in succession to the pull, using whatever leverage her small frame would give her.

If I missed any, I'm sorry!

When Callie had decided to make fun of Nora's age she hadn't at all imagined that other professors would jump onto the bandwagon. "Don't worry, I'll give you your old lady gift later!" Callie announced to Nora with a wide grin and a mischievous glint in her eye. When Porfessor Galim piped in about Nora's hair Callie felt the urge to defend her cousin at least slightly. "Here's the secret though, it's not the hair that makes her old! It's the knee!" Callie taunted before letting out a laugh, not entirely taking her own threats seriously.

In truth she would've continued her mild bullying of Nora but the appearance of Marcus unsettled Callie somewhat. It wasn't that she bore a grudge against the man but rather something about him seemed to put her on edge. Something intangible and something that she found hard to place her finger on. However Callie was first and foremost a polite girl and knew that if she was anything but her usual pleasant self Nora would give her a lecture. The threat of Nora doing such a thing was more than enough to convince Callie of the need to be her usual bright and clumsy self. "Don't worry no consorting here! Whatever that means...I was just reminding Nora of how old she was! It's her birthday you know, she's practically a dinosaur!" Callie exclaimed in spite of her disease towards Marcus' presence, powering through the discomfort with her signature goofy grin. Before darting off to join the rest of her team Callie made sure to stick out her tongue at Nora as well as give her a mock salute.

Sadly Callie tripped up over her own feet on the way there and face planted into the grass on the way down. Not that she minded though, she simply picked herself up and took hold of the rope! She wasn't at all strong but it's the thought that counts. Besides her desire to have something to hold over Nora's head was far too strong to even consider the thought of losing. It was so strong that she didn't even say a word about the sudden offer of a wager despite how strongly she hated the idea.

"That's Admiral Browne to you, Private Procoppio." Doc hissed between gritted teeth. His biceps hardening as the rope pulled back from his hands. Fingers locked in place, the professor dug his feet into the dirt. Slowly the Irishman leaned backwards as he tried using his weight to his advantage. "Besides..." He grunted. "I'm not sure... Jensen... is even... trying!" A quick chuckle escaped his breath as he repositioned himself, trying to gain a little extra end of rope. His eyes shifted between his own group and the opposing students. They hadn't moved that much.

"You heard the lady! HEAVE! On three, you pull harder than before. One, Two, THREE!" On his own counting, the Head of Hufflepuff gave the rope another tug and kept pulling it back. It seemed like they were actually holding it together for now. "Put your back in it Marcus! One, two, THREE!" Trying to look over his shoulder, Doc noticed Gargott still sitting on the rope. If they were going to try and move backwards, the goblin was going to have to move as well at some point.

"I thought you kids wanted to make this a competition?" He shouted over to the other side of the rope. Smirking wild, the glint of joy flashed in his gaze. A little taunting never hurt anyone... yet.

"Uh huh, you're terrifying," She replied to Callie, clearly not being serious. Her intimidation tactic was not exactly the most effective.

Apparently the new birthday tradition was going to be 'make fun of her'. This was likely why Hjørdis kept her personal life quite and private. Most people did not know her birthday. At least, until Callie screamed it out. But unfortunately, Callie was far too adorable to actually be mad at. She could, however, be angry at all of the others.

Caradoc received a glare. Did he really just comment on her hair being white?! He then had the audacity to say this was not his idea - which she did not believe, for even a second. He had to be involved. At the very least, he was an inspiration. This seemed very much like his fault.

And wh- apparently she secretly had a massive nose?! Wait, why was she getting insulted and Caradoc was getting called Superman. She was old and he was Superman?! He was older than her! Gosh dammit, what was this?! Callie seemed dead set on the idea that the Hufflepuff head was superman, though ,"Oh?" She asked, with a quirked eyebrow, as she was informed of a present. That was unnecessary but she could not pretend she was not curious. But the girl's comment about her knee made her feel like she was going to hate it. It better not be a knee brace... Callie even went ahead and called her a dinosaur! What was this?!

The next to receive a glare was Galim, who said dying her hair white had aged her. Well... then. This was awkward. It would appear that Galim was under the same impression that most people were under. Hjørdis made no effort to correct her impression but the truth was, it was not dyed. Most her teenager years, she actively dyed her hair different colours to hide the fact that her hair was naturally turning white. Purple and blue were the two most common ones then.

Luckily, Marcus made no comment about the current conversation. He was instantly her favourite colleague in the area now. Hjørdis blinked as she watched the newest member of staff appear. With his noodle arms on display, she watched him kiss his biceps. Well then... Interesting. At the very least, he was confident.

Her favourite hypeperson - well her only hype person - Ami Procoppio suddenly appeared. She nodded in response to her thank you. After all, it was for her and Willow that Hjørdis had even bothered to show up in the first place.

A group of students decided that they wanted to do a wager that made absolutely no sense. If there was no classes for a week, Hjørdis would love that. She could take a break. But, unfortunately, children required education. They clearly needed it, based on how many times they resorted to incendio as though they knew nothing else.

"Nice try," She replied with a shake of her head. If they wanted to skip class and just not learn how to do magic, that was on them. She was taking no part in that. Besides, she enjoyed cleaning.

For some reason, she agreed to do this. Grabbing the rope, she sighed before she started to pull it. This was ridiculous. It was so unlike her. The things she did for these kids! Ami totally tried to hype her up with her comment about the Silver Knight, "R-right," Oh gosh, she is meant to actually help here? She was going to ruin her nail polish!

If there was a silver lining to this, it was that she got to watch the cute guy flex his muscles. And it was not Jean-Papi with his kissing flexes. "I- Not all... of us... can be... Superman," She replied to Caradoc's insults in her usual grouchy hot (apparently) tone of voice, clearly being sarcastic, "And it's General Jensen!" before sighing, "Fine!" as she attempted to tug a little harder. Her nails were getting ruined though!

This was exillerating! Jean-Papi wasn't one for sports. Never had been he was athletic though, but certainly did not have the muscle to do all of this. Most of the time he had merely played his guitar and started singing instead of playing and actively engaging in sports. If you looked at all the other male professors they seemed to not skip gymday like he had for the last half century. Well, it was clear he wasn't on his own in that regard. Whilst the others were surely involved in the gymlifestyle there was a small, ginger, keg-formed professor that merely sat on the rope and managed to fall over. What a most peculiar man., he thought stiffling a laugh. He recognised some professors, but certainly not all like his very own head of house as well as the head of Ravenclaw. It seems his guns were already causing these students to tremble in their boots as two of them seemed to be losing grip on the rope. Aha! Viva les professeurs!*

Suddenly one of the professors called out to work united. JP liked this, his futile efforts to pull the rope would go unnoticed than as he strained as much as he could his (as some like to call <.<) noodle arms. Encore une fois, mes amis!* We are winning. Show these rookies how the old guard does things. No mercy! JP already strained his tiny mass of muscles at the count of one. They had to win from the students. He would not be the one who would cost them this victory.

Maya did not care much for the glare that she received from Hjørdis. It was all in good fun and for her to be sour about the fact that it was her birthday was of no concern for Maya. The two were childhood friends who had lost their friendship for years. It wasn't going to be easy to be friends once more, but civility and some acquaintance-based humor was all that could be done between the two--at least Maya believed so.

It seemed that the Ravenclaw child, who's last name matched Hjørdis-- Were they related? -- added more to her teasing of Hjørdis. There were no repercussions, so perhaps they were related. Though, Maya knew Hjørdis' last name was not as uncommon.

It was a sight to see some of the students so lively outside of the classroom environment. Some had chutzpah to tell off the professors while some were just wanting to play. A Slytherin definitely had a mouth on him talking about a wager. He spoke of no classes for a week if the students win, but nothing in return. Maya smiled at the second-year Slytherin, Henry Knight.

"Wagers are fun, Mr. Knight. If you are so sure about winning, let's add to your wager. If we win, you and your friends must shine the trophy room," she paused and shrugged. "But if course, you'll win. So there is no harm in accepting these terms," she added.

Maya, rope still in her hand, continued to pull the rope as hard as she could. She, on the end of the rope, wrapped the end around her wrist and fingers to have a tighter grip.

Gargott fell and rolled off of the rope. Losing the grip over his pipe the contents spread over the grass. A little panic taking hold over him as a small fire was created. Immediately his meaty hands started tapping the lit grass until the smuldering was killed, before it could spread to a fire. Continuing then to stand his palms pushed his body from the grass. "Darn, my tactic didn't work!" Cursing himself for thinking the game could so easily be tilted in his favor. "Seems we shall have to win it by strength then!" Proclaiming to no one in particular. Noticing suddenly that an older gentleman, yet unknown figure adressed his group aswell.

Taking his place at the tail of the group his hands gripped the rope. But Gargott wasn't taking any chances on letting the student group win. Not only had he gripped the rope in his hands he had also made sure to wrap it around his frame. "Putting my weight on it, might help!" He said whilst chuckling. "Now come on! Show these students not to mess with Professors!" Determination was etched on Gargott's face. Upper lip trembling with the sheer force he was mustering as he pulled the rope ever so tightly. No way the students would win, not if Gargott could help it.

The girl behind him, the one that Piérre remembered as Scarlett, spoke up and he smiled even more. She seemed charming enough, positive and kind. Piérre almost snickered at the comment that she was weaker than him. Had she seen how little muscle that he had on his body? He was practically muscle only in the places that needed it: his legs, the sockets in his arms... anywhere that needed the extra flexibility so that he could flip, dodge, and for all intensive purposes; prove as the elusive fool. He was not good in the middle of the fray, he was no fighter.

This was proven further when the rope was tugged. Piérre was not expecting it at all. Though he did his best, his hands wrapped around the hempen rope and his heels dug into the dirt as far as he could go, yet he still slipped forward. At this point, it had been a matter of making sure that he still had a grip on the rope. He tried so hard that he crumpled, his butt hitting the ground as he was drug forward a few feet. His face was twisted in an expression of sheer concentration. He couldn't do it... he couldn't hold on...

"GAH! I... I can't..." He stammered, attempting to collect his strength. When there was enough lapse for him to collect himself, Piérre let out a little chuckle, throwing his head back to look at Scarlett. "Good times, good times. This is fun!"

"Aurelia!" exclaimed Scarlett happily, her eyes lighting up at the sight of her friend and fellow Gryffindor. She had seen the girl at Bottle Flipping as well and it looked like they were both having fun. "I'm so excited for this. We're obviously going to win - look at the size of the student team!"

Piérre snickered at the thought of Scarlett being weaker than him, which gave her a puzzled expression. Sure the boy looked scrawny but surely, surely he couldn't be as unathletic as her. Hopefully Quidditch would give her a bit of a boost to start exercising. She was small enough - no need for Bludgers to be bashing her face in and breaking her bones. With all the injuries the students of Hogwarts were obtaining, it looked like the new nurse, Jean-Papi something, would be very overworked indeed.

"Excuse me," said Scarlett, in mock indignation to Piérre. "Have you seen these old bones? Why-"

But she had no time to continue her speech, because the pulling had apparently begun. Caught by surprise and with her strength, Scarlett was jerked forward by the rope and barely managed to hold on. It wasn't as bad as some though - they completely lost their grip on the rope. Piérre was evidently correct with his estimation of his strength - the boy seemed to be even worse off then Scarlett. And - oh woe! - the professors were...winning? How? There were way more students? Powered with newfound determination, Scarlett attempted to tug harder, harder, harder.

"Good times!" she nodded to Piérre
