The Great Lake had become an enigma of a place for Willow. The interactions that she had there stuck in her mind. A couple times she screamed and cried with others. Other times friends would find her and they would talk about whatever was on their mind. The Great Lake is where she met her boyfriend, Jack Warren, because he had stolen her art journal from her. It was a place of mixed emotions that seemed to mix within the dark, murky waters. It was where she started to come every morning to start her day with drawing whatever was on her mind, sometimes she prayed here.

Other times, like today, she was just chilling by the lake. Resting against a tree that had started to feel like an old friend with how much time she spent underneath it's leafy canopy. As the chill of fall was already settling in she was wearing a button up shirt with daisies, a pair of brown pants cuffed, with some classic vans. Her light pink hair was pulled back in a yellow paisley bandanna. Her wand sat tucked behind her ear and in the bandanna. The bright sun seemed to dance on the light waves in the lake and between the leaves of the tree. It seemed like a perfect, blissful moment.

However, peace can't last forever with treacherous snakes weaving through the grass.

It was early morning, a time for yawning rather than talking. And it seemed to apply to Percy as he walked along the gravel path down to the great lake. He had woken up early yet again to complete his annual daily walk, as well as picking up a fresh daily prophet newspaper on his way down. Just because it was a new school year it didn't mean he had to drop old habits, especially if they worked. Walking was a way to ease his mind of any stress and mental baggage from the horrors that hogwarts had thrown at him, in addition making his mind into a mental fortress.

Not many students didn't seem to be around which was perfect, since he didn't have to deal with any annoying brats that liked to disturb the peace. Although, a familiar face coming up was sure to change that. By the rocky shore of the lake rested a girl, the same girl he had an argument with all that time ago back at the start of first year. He slowly came to a stop on the path and gazed over with a sigh, almost tempted to just completely ignore her and leave the girl to her own devices. However, a part of him wanted to get one up over the girl that rudely interrupted his flying training. Hesitantly, the crafty snake made his way over to the disobedient hufflepuff.

Percy made sure to be silent as he slowly pressed his back up against the tree and folded his arms, his head looking down to her with a small smirk "I see you're looking for more attention with that hair colour, could see you all the way from the castle..." he said sarcastically with a slight shake of his head "Should of had crimson to fit your attitude"

It was such a good day. It was a nice temperature, the water was absolutely beautiful, Willow's mind was at peace for once. Everything was feeling so good. She really hadn't learned the lesson that had been taught to her time and time again last year to not be unaware of your surroundings when you're in a giant open space, such as the shore of a lake.

The young badger couldn't help but jump up to her feetwhen she heard Percival's voice from behind her and she her hand quickly moved to pull the wand out from behind her ear but stopped short. The paranoia from the fire in the Hufflepuff Common Room and the Blossom Ball still lurked underneath high adrenaline or panicked moments. Especially now that first year was done and she had a grip on a decent amount of spells, she felt more confident in using magic to defend herself. She almost wanted to flipendo Percival all the way into the middle of the lake and leave him there.

Her arms immediately crossed and she took a step back from him as if she feared catching his bad attitude from his presence. She couldn't help but stiffen more than she already was at his comment about her hair. She absolutely loved it, but absolutely hated him and his opinion. "Well if we're matching our hair colors to our personalities... Yours should be gray. To be just about as dull as you." She paused and looked him up and down, standing up straight to make herself appear bigger. "I'm surprised you haven't died on a Quidditch pitch somewhere, flying like the idiot I know you are." Last time she had no ammunition against him when it came from flying. But Hufflepuff had just destroyed Durmstrang, and she wasn't able to let him forget it.

He could only smirk when Willow jumped slightly from his sudden appearance, as well as the look of anger spread across her face when she backed away from him "Don't worry, i'm not the kind of person to bite" he said sarcastically to the unamused Hufflepuff. Neverless, she quickly fired back a comment about his own hair being Gray, as a way to match his dull attitude. Percy chuckled in amusement from the accusation, knowing himself that the girl was talking rubbish "Gray? I'm not an old man Huffleglum" replied Percy as he pushed himself away from the tree to stand in front of her.

He slowly folded his arms and witnessed her stand up straight in a way to make herself look more confident, but it didn't seem to interest Percy by the very least "Well doesn't that prove i'm more of a safer rider than you think?" questioned the slytherin as he stared straight into her face, emotionless and untelling as usual. After a few seconds, Percy steadily walked past her and stood on the bank of the lake, looking across the vast horizon that lay ahead of him "Tell me Muggle, why do you always question my riding ability when I've had so much more experience than you?" he said as he turned his head slightly to look at her in the corner of his eye "Is it jealousy? or are you afraid to admit that your too bad to even make your own house team" grunted the boy who now turned around to give his full attention "Considering you're meant to be apart of the "hardworking" house I would of thought you'd be more dedicated to getting better and taking risks... maybe your muggle parents brought you up to be lazy and selfish like how they were taught before them"

Threatening @Percival Gray
He seemed wholly uanffected by Willow's attempt to be intimidating, which wasn't surprising. Willow knew she was never one to be scared of, she was normally the one terrified. But there was something about the fact that he was even laughing during this encounter. He didn't know what she was capable, but he would soon find out. Her hands gripped on her arms as they were crossed. Casting at someone outside of class, especially to attack another student, was strickly forbidden and she didn't want to stoop to his level. As he pushed himself off of the tree, she took an instinctual step back to maintain a comfortable distance between them. "Huffleglum? If you knew anything about me you would know how far from that I am. I'm sunshine incarnate, you shallow jerk." She should really learn how to insult better, this was not cutting it.

She scoffed when he brought up even the idea of being a safer rider. "That's called luck, and I'm sure you're running it out." His stare was piercing, flat, she couldn't gauge what he was thinking. Until he was on the move again to walk towards the lake. Once again, she moved to give him a wide berth. She seriously didn't want to be anywhere near this boy. Her arms fell to her side as she spoke once more. The badger couldn't sniff out what this boys goal was, just to rile her up? To start his day with a lovely launching of insults at someone? She opened her mouth to speak and retort to his question of her experience, until he kept going. Having the audacity to insinuate that she was jealous of him. But this boy really knew nothing about her, knew nothing about her being in not one, but two Quidditch game where her house won. Her brows furrowed in frustration at his own horrible execution of insults.

Then he took it all too far.

Her hand went up and whipped out her wand, pointing it directly at his face as soon as her parents were mentioned. "First off snake," The word dripped with a venom that might come from it's namesake. "I'm first string keeper. I played in Hufflepuff's last game that brought us to the championships to represent all of Hogwarts last summer, which we won." A small growl emitted from the small girl's throat. "Second off, if words of you talking about my family ever drip out of your disgusting mouth ever again. I will curse your bloody face off. You hear me? You can insult me. You can insult my flying skills. But don't you dare insult my family ever again." A fierce fire was alight within her eyes, one that didn't forgiven. She dared him to attempt another insult her family again.

Challenging @Willow Anderson

"Sunshine Incarnate? more like insane personified..." he grumbled back to her weak counter while continuing to half listen to her relentless rant. However, when he decided to say something about her muggle parents it immediately started a fire inside the young Hufflepuff, something so bad that it forced her to pull her wand out on him. Percy's natural reaction was to move his face back slightly from the wand, but other than that he looked surprisingly calm and collected. And then, as if she had been holding it in for a long time burst out with a string of insults.

Percy could only blankly stare at Willow as she threw every insult under the sun his way, almost in a wild uncontrollable rage. Eventually, her babblings came to a halt as well as her wrath for the time being. The slytherin stared at her without a word before slowly raising his hands in front of him and sarcastically clapped her feeble attempt of a statement "Wow, who knew sunshine girl actually had a fiery spirit" he said with a slight smirk across his lips, as well as the same cold stare he welcomed people with. He slowly folded his arms and let out a huge sigh, his gaze sometimes going to the wand that aimed at his face "Believe it or not, I actually believe you'd have great pleasure in firing a curse into my face right now. However, doesn't that make you a coward firing upon an unarmed opponent? considering you're Hufflepuff I'd thought you would know better." the boy said as his arms fell to his side.

Without a care, his hand reached to his pocket and slowly sided out the wand in plain view of her vision. The wand itself was a 34,0 cm yew wood and phoenix feather, considered to be reasonably springily, very powerful and hard to use. Even so, the wand had taken to Percy well with reasonable amount of practice. He let his wand hang loosely in his hand as his attention was drawn back to the girl, his face one of a serious nature this time "If your so keen in taking this further then why not, I seriously don't mind following suit. Then maybe, just maybe your muggle parents will actually decide to teach you some manners this time" Percy said with a shallow insult. His stance looked lazy considering he had been learning to duel for a few years, but something about made it look as if he knew what he was doing.

Most people didn’t see Willow as a force to be reckoned with. Whether that be on the Quidditch pitch, in class, just really as a non-threatening person in general. There had been a few people that had met her fury, Jack Burnett, Ruka Tân, Flash Holmwood, Hanako Tone to name a few. Surprisingly 3/4 of those being Slytherins, and another one was about to be added. If there was ever a time not to mess with Willow, it was when she was angry. The little firecracker had been lit, and she was about to fire off. Her eyebrows furrowed together as she watched him clap after what she saw as an intimidating throwing of insults. “The sun is a literal ball of fire you idiot.” Couldn’t believe she had a fiery spirit? It showed how little he knew about her. Willow briefly wondered if this was even a worthwhile battle to be having. Her eyes narrowed when she was questioned about firing onto an unarmed opponent. "Really, it's your fault if you don't have your wand at a school of wizardry isn't it? Never could know when you need it." She paused watching him reach for his wand. "Although, seems like you're not quite unarmed are you? Seems like a fair battle to me."

For someone that claimed to have so much flying experience since he was a pureblood, how much dueling experience does that mean he has? No underage wizards were allowed to cast outside of school, so they had to be pretty even in how successful they would be. Besides, as long as she got some spells on him and made him yell for mercy that would be enough for her. Her brows furrowed even harder when he brought her parents back into it. Without a second thought she fired a spell out of her wand, moving it in the shape of a leaf before shouting out "Rictusempra!" She had moved her wand a bit lower, firing it at his chest rather than his face. It went off without a hitch, forcing him to undergo a terrible tickling sensation. "Leave my parents out of this." This was between him and her, not her family. Not how they raised her. It was now about how she could best a pureblood in what he considered to be his own game.

His body remained calm and collected as Willow fired out a dreaded tickling spell, one of which exposed the humorous weakness of many duellists. Percy tried to quickly jump to the right but was partially caught on the shoulder, leaving him to feel something strange. It almost felt like someone was trying to make him laugh as he struggled to keep a straight face "Heh... really? a tickling spell?" he said through a small chuckle, his eyes still stuck on his opponent "Why shouldn't I mention you're parents?" he said with a small grin up to Willow as he continued to keep his distance

Even if she was an incompetent muggle, he had to be careful of her abilities and not underestimate what she could and couldn't do. However, his constant taunting seemed to anger her by the minute, too much of it and she will be guaranteed to make a mistake eventually "I mean after all, your parents did get you into this-" The boy said before suddenly stopping, flicking his wand swiftly to perform a surprise attack "Flipendo!" he shouted, firing a knockback spell aimed at her chest to knock the Hufflepuff backwards some distance. With a smug grin he swished his wand left and right as he nonchalantly walked closer to Willow"Mess..." finished Percy finally, who stood before her with his wand hanging loosely and his body slightly leaned over. Willow seemed to greatly underestimate his duelling ability and seemed to have a short fuse in terms of taunting, both of which Percy was going to exploit greatly throughout this aggressive competition.

Willow felt like her face was permanently screwed up in a view of disgust at the boy in front of her. There was a phrase her parents would always say when it got all messed up like this, something along the lines of it could get stuck like that forever. She tried to relax it, but there was something particularly annoying about this boy. So... high and mighty, holier-than-thou attitude. It wasn't one Willow took to easily, or at all. Especially with insult after insult Percival threw to slander a family that he didn't even know. "Any spell is worthwhile if used well." She wondered if her muggle history would give her in advantage in being able to use spells against him that he normally wouldn't think about.

His further taunts proved how little he knew about her family, it wasn't her parents that got her to go to Hogwarts. It was her grandmother. Her parents would be happy to keep her at home, but her grandma always pushed her to follow the unknown. As her mouth opened to retort, the Knockback Jinx hit her square in the chest and she flew backwards with a yelp of surprise. She quickly popped back up like a spring daisy as he approached her, eyes narrowed as her mind reeled for the next move. "I am not a mess." Well, she was. But she couldn't let him know that. "You know what... you seem a little high strung. Why don't you do a little dance~" A smirk barely took it's place on her face before she raised her wand and ever so calmly said, "Tarantallegra." To send him into a dancing frenzy.
