Anyone who knew really anything about Willow, knew that she was always and forever making and handing out friendship bracelets. Even people that didn't know her by name knew this about her. Truly, she was a friendship bracelet queen. At every meal she would have a pile of them in front of her for anyone to take. In the library when she was studying this would be the case, Hufflepuff common room, outdoors at the courtyard. Where there was a Willow, there were bracelets. She always made five to six before going to bed to keep a constant supply. She had endless amounts of thread because her parents were always sending her more instead of an allowance of some sort.

It wasn't about the crafting either, although, she could make some pretty amazing bracelets because of the many years that she had been practicing. It was genuinely about helping make a connection with people. Even if they gave it away to someone else, they were using her bracelets to make friends and that gave her a special feeling. Whenever she saw one of her bracelets being worn in the halls a small flutter of joy that was unmatched always appeared. She was a Hufflepuff and she loved her friends. What a surprise.

This afternoon she found herself picking at some chips as the last part of her meal while making a bracelet. Between every chip she'd wipe the salt off on her pants to get the salt off before returning to the bracelet, no one wants a greasy salty bracelet. The signature pile of bracelets sat proudly in the middle of the table as her nimble fingers worked at lightning speed. An occasional, hi, would be said as people walked by her. But, so far no one had joined the bright badger for lunch on this fine day. Not that she was upset about it, sometimes alone time was nice in a bustling environment like camp.

𝓢ummer camp was in full swing at this point and Amadea was having...an interesting time to say the least. The amount of students that were attending the summer camp had surprised Amadea, though as she thought about it now, she realized that she probably shouldn't be too surprised about it. After all, there were multiple schools attending to watch the Hogwarts versus Durmstrang Quidditch game which meant that there were going to be a large amount of students.

Still, Amadea felt like there was an odd dynamic this year at camp. While she had not attended camp last year, she still vividly remembered how fun her first year at summer camp was and was excited to repeat it this year. Unfortunately, she hadn't exactly had that amazing time yet. For starters, the tension inside of her tent made Amadea surprised that it hadn't exploded from the tense vibes that it harbored. Yet again, Amadea hadn't been thinking and had invited all of her friends to join her in a tent without remembering that Scott and Ami were in the middle of a horrible argument. She had been hoping this would be a good time for them to talk things out and make up with each other, but unfortunately, it seemed to be only making things worse.

There was also the looming fact that she would soon have to go home and while she missed her family, Amadea wasn't sure she was ready to face all of the emotions that came along with going back to Camberley. All in all, Amadea wasn't having the best time at summer camp. It was lunchtime and Amadea ambled into the center of the campground where the food was set up. She hadn't seen any of her friends yet today and she wasn't going to wait around for them to appear as she was feeling quite hungry so she grabbed a plate and helped herself.

Amadea glanced around, looking for a place to sit, when she noticed another girl sitting alone. Amadea recognized the girl from the Pre-Summer Egg Race and the Gobstones Club and she felt a pang of sympathy. She knew how awkward and sad sitting alone could be so Amadea walked over to her. As Amadea put her plate down, she realized that the other girl was in the middle of making a friendship bracelet and Amadea hesitated. Did she even want company or did she want to focus on her bracelet? It was too late to leave now, so she had no choice but to sit down. "Hi Willow," she said quietly praying that she had remembered the girl's name correctly. "That's a cool bracelet," she said, pointing to the string.

Willow was actually about to pack up and head out to go find something else to do when an older girl from her house approached. Amadea, she recalled. The person that brought her to the hospital wing when she passed out during Gobstones and the 3rd place victor of the pre-summer egg race. A bright smile donned her face with the greeting. "Hey Amadea~" She paused to look at the bracelet she was currently working on. "Thanks! It's just a classic chevron, but it's a fun one to make anyway. Have you ever made a friendship bracelet?" After coming to Hogwarts she found out that a lot of people had heard of them but just never encountered or made them at all. She had made it a mission early on in her time to make sure everyone she met had the opportunity to have one of their very own if they wanted.

She decided to take a break from the bracelet and finish off the remnants of her food to actually have a conversation with someone instead of being lost in the rhythmic weaving. "How are you liking camp? I didn't expect Hogwarts to also have a summer camp, especially with other schools. The Americans are... weird at best and Durmstrang is kind of scary." She might be biased with the Quidditch game coming up and being already extremely intimidated by any team that she's not familiar with.

𝓐madea let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding; she was glad that Willow wasn't angry with her for interrupting. "Classic chevron?" Apparently Amadea really did know nothing about friendship bracelet making; there was even terminology involved that she didn't know about.

"I don't really know much about making friendship bracelets," Amadea said. She knew some of her classmates back at Muggle school enjoyed making them for their friends, but it had always been almost a negative thing for Amadea. All of the girls at her old school made them only for each other so it was easy to see who wasn't part of any of the friend groups. Of course, Amadea knew that it was probably much different here and that Willow's intentions were not bad at all. "I would love to learn more, though," she added. "You seem like quite the expert, so I guess I'm at the right place." As much as she wanted to forget the negative memories friendship bracelets reminded her of, she also couldn't help but admire the beautiful designs and patterns they created.

"I'm enjoying camp," Amadea answered Willow. It was true; she really was having a great time. Sure, it was kind of overwhelming sometimes with the sheer amount of people that were attending and sure, she had kind of sabotaged her sleeping situation by putting Scott and Ami in the same tent together without talking to them about it first, but if Amadea overlooked all of that, camp was a great time. There were bright sides to all of these situations; maybe she would meet a new foreign friend and maybe she could help Scott and Ami remedy their friendship. "I know, there's so many people here," Amadea said. "I went to the Welcoming Bonfire and was so shocked to see so many people! I completely agree," she added with a laugh. "The Americans are kind of crazy and the Durmstrang kids are so scary!" She hadn't talked to many of them but the air they radiated just seemed quite intimidating. "There's so many events going on too! Have you signed up for any of them?"

Willow stuttered a bit, realizing that she was being inconsiderate to Amadea in just spouting words that she might not know and treating them as if they were common knowledge. "J-Just like, um... repeating V's, see?" She held up the bracelet that she was working on that luckily had a few rows done to demonstrate the pattern. It was a pattern Willow had made hundreds of times over, but it was one that was easy to get into especially during a conversation. It didn't require as much intense concentration as one that had a repeating pattern with cycles that had to be followed where one mess-up could throw off the entire thing.

She maintained eye contact with Amadea as she spoke, hands still working on the bracelet and only breaking her gaze if she thought she might have messed up. "I could always teach you! I have a few already started since I didn't want to just carry around a bunch of thread with me since they could get tangled easily, but they're all pretty simple patterns. But also no pressure, I know not everyone likes to make stuff like this." Willow paused the bracelet to pull out a few already started bracelets of various colors and thread amounts for Amadea. If she were to pick one, she'd put the rest away. If not, they'd just chill there for the rest of their conversation. "Me and my mom used to make them together. We actually had friendship bracelets for our family when I was younger, but over time my wrist got too big so now they're all hanging up together in the living room at home." They were a bit tattered from being worn so long before being retired there, but they were cherished all the same.

Willow listened with genuine interest, leaning forward slightly on the bench. She couldn't help but nod when Amadea agreed that the Durmstrang kids were scary. "I haven't really signed up for anything no, I'm mostly focused on the Quidditch game. I've been so nervous about that it's hard to think about doing anything else. Except... I probably should to take my mind off of it. Durmstrang is so secretive it's hard for us to even strategize what we want to do. I really want us to win, especially since we're not just representing Hufflepuff anymore, but all of Hogwarts." She sighed, and her hands slowed on the bracelets. "It's a little stressful to think about it all. I've honestly just been stress making a bunch of bracelets." She lifted up the one she had, as if Amadea needed an example of what she was talking about.

𝓐madea leaned forward to see the pattern of the friendship bracelet Willow was making. Ah, so classic chevron meant V figures. She had seen that type of pattern before, though she wasn't aware of the fancy terminology used for it. Was there a whole word of friendship bracelet making patterns that Amadea was unaware of? Perhaps she should take some more time and learn about it. After all, all of the bracelets she had seen before were quite beautiful and it would so fun to know how to make them.

"Ooh I would love a tutorial!" Amadea said as Willow offered to teach her. It was as if the other Hufflepuff had read her mind. Making friendship bracelets was something that Amadea would love to be able to do as she looked at Willow's fingers move nimbly as she threaded the thread around to make the pattern. Hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult; Amadea had done some work with thread before when she had completed the embroidering errand, though that wasn't very similar to this considering there was a needle involved. That was more like sewing. The whole nimble fingers though, Amadea was pretty confident in that. While she hadn't picked up any instrument in quite some time, she was a musician through and through. Whether her fingers were flying over the keys of a piano or a flute, she knew that she could move them quickly when she needed to.

"It seems very calming," Amadea noted. She had a habit of taking walks as much as she could around the grounds of Hogwarts, partially because she wanted to stay in shape and partially because it was a good opportunity for her to clear her head. And sometimes, she ran into other people and was able to learn about her peers, like now. "Aw that's so sweet," Amadea smiled as she pictured young Willow and her mother crafting together.

Amadea nodded along as she listened to Willow speak. "Oh so you're on the Quidditch team then?" Perhaps it was a stupid question since Amadea was part of Hufflepuff, but she really was quite oblivious to anything involving Quidditch. All she knew was that the Hufflepuff team had won and that was why they were here at summer camp. At least Amadea had fairly good excuse; she had been gone for the majority of the term and had not attended any of the Quidditch games. If she was being completely honest, Quidditch freaked her out a little bit. Flying in general was something that absolutely terrified Amadea and she had no intentions of watching people whizz around on tiny sticks of wood while heavy balls flew around in the air next to them. It seemed like a death wish. Amadea had a feeling she probably shouldn't say any of that out loud. "Is the Durmstrang team any good?" she asked. She really knew nothing about the sport. "I know it's probably really stressful, but you guys have practiced all year so you just have to trust that you've done everything you can to prepare! No matter what happens, you should be proud that you even made it this far!" Willow held up a bracelet. "If bracelets help relieve your stress, that's good. After all, they're turning out beautifully!"
