Samuel Crocker - Slytherin

Muggle born.
He is a Scorpio.
Samuel is small for his age. dark hair and dark eyes stand out starkly against his pale skin that never seems to tan. an only child he was born in Darwen England to two muggle parents. they both work in a textile manufacturers plant.
they are a poor family but a loving one. he spends his days watched by his ailing grandfather while his parents work. the old man tells him stories of the past and gave him his most prized possessions; a small bag of 12 much battered and care worn tin soldiers and a small kitten. he carries the little figures with him everywhere the bag tied to his belt and plays pretend. sometimes he almost gets the feeling that they move on their own but they couldn't, could they?
he is a solitary boy. never one to play with the other boys around town, they pick on him and he doesn't really know how to talk to people. he prefers to read and listen to his grandfathers stories while he fiddles with his tin soldiers and pets his cat whiskers. dreaming of worlds of hero's and monsters. him with an army of life size tin soldiers to follow him, riding on a giant fanged version of whiskers. he prefers spending his time this way. real people are just to hard to talk to.
when he got his letter he felt terrified and thrilled at the same time. maybe he was a hero after all and maybe his soldiers did move sometimes, was that magic? perhaps he could make things come to life. maybe he could make whiskers big enough to ride.
he was scared about all the new people he would meet and about leaving his family and cat behind but hoped his new class mates would be nicer then the boys in his town. he couldn't wait to get his books and start learning.
he wants to animate his small tin soldiers with magic. he also thinks potions looks like an interesting subject to master because it is a solitary art and not a group activity.
