Lookey What I Found
@Aurelia Notrésvace
The year had begun just like any other. First years would show up with the usual mix of terror and excitement splashed across their faces as they took in the new and unusual setting that was Hogwarts. They would get lost, run into people in the corridors and stress about where to be when. However, things were totally different for Howard White as he began his fourth year. The daily grind had become second nature as he fell into the routine of mixing classes with free time. There would only be one addition to the teenager’s schedule as he started the new year and that would be regular trips to the Quidditch Practice Pitch.
Howard had started his time at Hogwarts knowing nothing about the beloved sport that held such a dear place in most of Wizard kind’s hearts, but that wouldn’t last for long. As soon as he saw his first match it was love at first sight. Nothing from his Muggle life came any where close to it in comparison. There was something about the speed, intensity, and constant threat of physical danger that set his heart ablaze. Right away Howard knew that he had to play, but there was one little problem. The then eleven year old had never flown a broom in his life. So, over the coming years the boy would attend his Flying lessons and spent a lot of his free time learning the art.
This drive is why Howard would find himself back on the pitch this day. The practicing had paid off and now he was a pretty adept flyer. Over the years he had saved up as much of his weekly Hogwarts stipend as he could and had ordered his very first broom, but unfortunately it had not arrived yet. So, as he took to the pitch he grabbed one of the school brooms as he had so many times before. With a swing of his leg Howard mounted the broom and just as he was about to launch himself into the air, something caught his eye. A few yards away laid a piece of wood, too shiny just to be a random twig or branch blown onto the field from the nearby forest. No, he knew right away that he was looking at a broom handle.
With a kick of his right foot, Howard would glide over to the spot before dismounting. Upon further inspection of the handle his eyes would pop with surprise. ”Woah...nice! A freakin’ Moontrimmer!” He spoke to himself as he picked up the broom. Taking a moment to look around the pitch, Howard wouldn’t see another soul in sight. Who on earth would leave such a nice piece of equipment just laying around?....A sucker! That’s who!
Ditching the school broom, he mounted the Moontrimmer and blasted into the air. “WOO!” Howard couldn’t help but shout as he and the broom tore around the pitch. It was a world of difference compared to the school brooms. The sheer speed of it and the heights it could reach sent adrenaline pumping through his body. Coming to a pause he knew that he had made quite the score and as tempting as it was to keep flying, he knew it was time to hide the evidence. With one last flip Howard would land and quickly make his way back towards the castle.

Lookey What I Found
Before the semester had began, Aurelia spent a not a minute on a broom. Why so? Simple. Her aristocratic mother. According to the older woman, quidditch or flying in general was nothing a proper young lady should take part in. It posed too much danger. Rebellious was not usually a word Aurelia would use to describe herself but this year, she went against her mother's wishes by putting her name down into the quidditch list. She was taking some control over her life. There was nothing her parents could do given that they were miles away.
So far, Aurelia had only lost 3 snitches throughout her 8 solo practice sessions. It was not too bad for someone who never took part in the sport until this year. She had been taking handfuls of the golden little orbs from the quidditch storage room every now and then. Whenever one was in the skies, she would then enter the storage room to pocket a new one to practice with, hoping that by chance, the professor would not notice an . How else was she to train if she had not the right equipment? She was a seeker after all. There was no way she could play her role if she had no snitch.
Today, Aurelia was up in the skies again. She had released the snitch 10 minutes ago, yet had not found it yet. Already, she had made close to half a dozen rounds around the pitch. However, whenever she caught a glimpse of gold, turning around would cause her long brown hair to whip at her face, obscuring her view and subsequently losing slight of the snitch. Of course, it was near impossible to have a clear view with the strong scottish winds and hair constantly in her face. So Aurelia lowered herself back to the safety of the ground, dropping her broom before finding her bag going to her bag tucked away in the stands.
Since the incident last year which left her with an ugly scar on her neck, it was almost always that Aurelia had her hair down to hide the horrendous mark if not her neck was caked with makeup to serve the same purpose. But the pitch today was relative empty and if it would not be a problem if she had her hair up for once to do some training without interference. From her bag, she produced a hair tie which she put her hair up with briskly. She then made her way back to the pitch where she left her broom to pick up where she had left of.
However, before she entered the pitch, she was stopped in her tracks by the sight of a particular boy in the skies. Howard White. It was a sight that caused the fourteen year old to turn tail, anxiety to peak and for her scurry back to the stands where he was unlikely to notice her as she had him. Up in the stands, couching down, her eyes scanned the field below in search of her broom that she left. Her broom was no where to be found. It was then that she noticed that the boy in the sky was seated on the broom she was looking for. Damn it.
It was unlike the former monster hunter to be afraid, especially not of a fellow student her age. But this was Howard White, the very dhampire who gave her a nasty scar on her neck, almost killing her in the process. Aurelia was not one who held grudges, trauma from the event that still lingered. Blood, pain, panic and the fear of dying. It was an experience she never wanted to go through again. Now this boy was on her broom and she could only hope that he would leave the moontrimmer where he had found it after he was done.
Unfortunately for Aurelia, that was not the case. Even when the hufflepuff was on the ground, he never released his hold on the broom. Instead, he started in the direction of the castle. If it weren't for the hefty amount of galleons she had spent on the object, Aurelia would not have bothered and let the boy have the broom. Afterall, she had a spare broom. But it was no too long before Aurelia slung her bag over her shoulder and went after the boy.
