Pampering Pristine Pets
<< Errand Info >>At the semester's start, a poster was pinned to the notice board outside of the Great Hall:The day had come at last, and although it was a wet and frigid Saturday outside, the unclaimed classroom was cozy as could be. Desks and chairs had been pushed off to the edges with the aid of Professor Jensen, save those set apart here and there with tools on top. Some desks were padded with towels and topped by bins of warm water, cloths hanging on the edges. Others sported an assortment of brushes, claw clippers, cloths or cotton swabs. It made for a spacious setting in which students could collect tools or groom pets in peace. The entrance, however, had been made lobby-like. Chairs lined the furthest wall where students could spectate, though there were many beanbags gathered in a large semi-circle around a low table. Treats were arranged across the top: a bowl of cat kibbles shaped (and smelling) like fish, a jar of dried mealworms, a glass of pumpkin seeds, two boxes of Eeylops Premium Owl Treats, and a dish brimming with Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans.
The pets permitted at Hogwarts are naturally hygienic. While our creature companions do a good job keeping themselves clean, today will be an excuse to pamper and bond with them. Maybe you do not have a pet and are looking for excuses to interact with one. Perhaps you have a pet, but want a break from grooming them yourself. Or, you might take today as an opportunity to mingle with other pet owners, exchange grooming tips, and host an unofficial pageant. Our tools will include various shapes and sizes of:
- Claw clippers
- Cotton tips
- Water bins
- Brushes
- Sponges
- Towels
- Files
- Snacks to bribe reward good behavior!
Rats groom often and don't necessarily need to be bathed. Doing so too often removes natural oils from the skin and fur, but an assisted bath or sponging may be ideal for older rats who cannot bathe themselves. Dry brushing will make their fur particularly glossy.
Lizards love a good soak. Warm water encourages exercise, relaxes their muscles, and can aid in digestion. It can also help dislodge dry skin when they're in the process of shedding! It's important to trim your lizard's claws as well. Not only does this reduce the risk of you being scratched, but if their nails are too long, they may get snagged on something and hurt themselves.
Toads absorb things through their skin- that's even how they drink water! Please keep this in mind. Handlers must have extremely clean hands to work with them. They do not need to be washed, but might enjoy basking in clean water bins and light. A gentle sponging would be alright, especially if they're shedding.
Pygmy puffs shouldn't get too wet, certainly not soaked, as it's difficult to dry their thick hair. They would instead benefit from a thorough brushing and claw clipping.
Cats aren't usually fond of baths, but that doesn't mean they should never have them. Wiping a cat down with a warm wet rag works wonders on their coats every once in awhile. Claw trimming is encouraged, but cats more prone to scratch might be better off with a nice brushing for today.
Owls don't need to be sponged or wiped in any way as they self-produce feather oils. However, they will be given the opportunity to bathe in bins, where they use lukewarm water to help clean their feet and beaks. Snowy and Arctic variants may prefer cooler water.SPARE SECOND FLOOR CLASSROOM

The arrangement was tidy, symmetrical, an open invitation to be balanced out by the chaos of many animals. Two were already present: Professor Jenson's Bengal, Jeger, whom Pericles promised to groom in exchange for her help arranging. The spoiled prince was presently lounging on a toweled desk, a soft bristle brush running from the nape of his neck to the base of his tail. Perched by the prefect's boots, spine straight and head held high, was a pretty seal-point Siamese. Her ice-blue eyes lazily regarded the doorway in apparent expectation. Pericles had bailed breakfast early to finish setting up, though he knew it was only a matter of time before others arrived. Surely some adored animals as much as he did. Others had nothing better to do on such a rainy day. It was even perfectly plausible that some had heard he'd convinced the new Ravenclaw Head of House, Professor Marcus Iwasaki, to give out points for participation.

Open to Interactions!Figaro the Silver Bengal-
ReducioTrotting down the hallways of Hogwarts, Piérre had a huge spring in his step, encouraged by the gentle tugging of his Bengal, Figaro. The once kitten was much bigger now than when Piérre had first bought him from the Magical Menagerie on Valentine's Day. Figaro was still a light fellow, hardly breaking seven pounds. Most of that weight was that of musculature, and Figaro was a sprightly and energetic feline. Laughing aloud, Piérre watched as his fur brother sniffed about, his ringed tail gently whisking this way and that as if he were a dog. Indeed, Maddie had made it a condition of hers that if Piérre were to keep his cat, he would have to teach the Bengal how to walk on a leash so that if Figaro misbehaved, Piérre could take him out and burn some of its energy.
It would be a lie to say that Piérre didn't pamper Figaro, for he really, honestly did. However, the Britalian had figured out pretty early on that Figaro was not the showy kind of cat, and was, in fact, more dog than cat. Fortunately, that had made bathing a cinch, and it gave Piérre an excuse to play rough with the surprisingly constitutional cat. Figaro had been known to love nip in the past, especially over the summer, but coming up on about seven months had mellowed him a bit, and Figaro, though some trial and error, had slowly discovered what was alright by his furless brother and what was not. Of course, not everything could have gone completely smoothly, and Piérre, in addition to the scars left on his hands from catching an errant Snitch during his pre-Hogwarts years, also had small scabs on the backs of his hands and fingers. These didn't bother him much, though, and truth be told, Piérre almost always forgot that they were there.
Entering, Piérre immediately called out to Peri. "PERIIII!" Piérre threw his arms wide open, dashing across the room and nearly tackling the Ravenclaw prefect in a great big bearhug. Today, the lad was dressed as a Ravenclaw, having rolled a 2 on the d4 that he kept on the bedside table next to his bunk. A pair of vivid blue suspenders and a white dress shirt gave him a slightly comical look, especially with his twinkling eyes and great big smile. He had even been so rushed to get to the event as fast as he could that he neglected to brush his hair, and so it was slightly more tangled at the nape of his neck than it usually was. It seemed that it would not only be his pet that would need the grooming... perhaps Piérre would need some too..."Is this your first errand? Oh my gosh I'm so happy to be here! Even if it isn't your first, I love the premise of this one! As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to get my happy little tail over here! Oh! This is Figaro, my little fur brother! Figaro!" Figaro glanced up at Piérre at thhe sound of his name, offering a 'Prrrrow?' as an answer.
Clapping, Piérre grinned at Peri, bouncing a bit on his toes. "Hold on, hold on, watch this! Figaro," Piérre commanded, his voice becoming the slightest bit stern. Crouching down a bit and extending an arm, Piérre flicked his index finger towards himself. "Climb!"
Figaro tentatively put a paw on Piérre's hand, and then, before Piérre could blink, the silver cat bounded, leaping onto his shoulders and wrapping itself around his neck like a stole. Piérre could feel the heavy purring of Figaro vibrating throughout his entire body, and Figaro's light seagreen eyes closed in a relaxed regard, still purring up a thunderstorm. "Whaddaya think?!
Cool huh? He's been doing this since he was a kitten, so, why not make it a trick?"
Damn his ADHD, Piérre noticed another bengal nearby. "Awwww! Is that one yours, Peri? He's so cuuuute!" Piérre gently held out a hand to the bengal, fingers down to let the critter sniff and acknowledge. "What's his name?" Figaro was now lazily opening his eyes, glancing at the other bengal. With shining eyes, he offered a small 'Me-ew.' before rolling a bit on his back and batting Piérre's cheek with a velvet paw.
"Well, I guess I had better get to work! D'you happen to have a basin or something?
I think it's high time that Figaro had a bath. He's so funny when he's wet!"

Pampering Pristine Pets
On second thought Alan probably shouldn't have worn something white with what he was about to do, but he had only realized that once he actually entered the classroom. Cleaning a pet could easily get messy and there wasn't much to do about that. At least he would have little troubles cleaning Tiger. The feline was a disgrace and constantly broke the cat codex, it was like he was a dog born into a cat's body. As such the cat actually liked to be leashed and go on walks ~ over summer ~ or simply accompany the Gryffindor on his walks across the campus of Hogwarts. But he also paid no mind to water shyness that his kind was practically known for and instead Alan had to pay close attention so that Tiger wouldn't swim too far off into the Great Lake sometimes.
As he looked around in the room with Tiger curiously following his two-legged friend, Alan's eyes quickly fell upon @Pericles Dralt who he knew from the S.W.A.G club and after meeting him during various encounters. However so far the fourth year had not actually been able to hold a real conversation with the boy which was quite a shame as he seemed to be a interesting character. Seeing his chance as the room was still quite empty and only one other person was in here aside from Pericles, Alan's mind eased up a little. "Hi Pierre, who is that little friend of yours?", the fourth year spoke up curiously before heading towards Pericles and Jeger, a cat he had seen before. "Peri, this errand is a great idea! Is this Jeger from Miss Jensen?", he asked curiously as he wiggled his finger in front of the Bengal's snout until he could feel the wet nose press against it in shared curiosity which made Alan take another step as he began to scratch the feline behind its ears. After a couple seconds he would direct his whole focus towards Peri with a slight grin on his face as he heard a soft thump that instantly would catch his attention once again.
It looked like Tiger had jumped onto the toweled desk to greet his friend and in the process of doing so had knocked over a box with cotton tips that had found their way onto the ground. Maybe Tiger was a cat after all! "Oh my, I'm sorry Peri!" the fourth year would instantly apologize on behalf of his cat and crouched down to pick up the cotton swaps that had sprawled out onto the classroom floor. Meanwhile the two Bengal's were curiously greeting one another as one of them began to engage into a game of catch and it didn't take Jeger long to jump from the table and look back at Tiger who was getting ready to pounce from the table and begin a game of chase. This was already promising to be chaotic!

Permission given to godmode Sherlock by Logan Baird
Open to interactions
Trying to interact with: @Alan Vanes, @Pericles Dralt, @Piérre Marchonné
Walking down the corridor on that wet and slightly chilly Saturday, Henry seemed to be in a different mood then usual days.
Henry left his messager type bag at his common room and instead had Sherlock; his best friend Logan Baird cat in his arms as he walked down to the classroom that would hold a place for people to groom and pamper their pets. Henry sadly didn't have his own pet yet since his father gifted his older brother with a owl when he graduated but no worries he still loved to be around them and care for them, especially cats. In fact Henry actually volunteered to watch Sherlock for Logan whenever she needed which was something that he done multiplied times before and loved each time, because while the cat was a bit nervous and didn't get along with everyone he did however get along with Henry and Henry would always pamper the thing whenever he looked after him.
Dressed in his usual worn out jeans, long sleeve grey shirt, and faded greenish jacket the second year could have ran to the classroom from the excitment of meeting others and their pets while also pampering Sherlock a bit, Henry held the cat in his arms comfortably and a bit firm as occasionally he tried to squeeze himself out of Henry's grip to run or play in which Henry smiled at the cat as he had a mischievous and playful spirit but occasionally the cat would purr a bit which made Henry beyond smile as he approached the door to the classroom. Henry held onto Sherlock a bit tight in his arms as for the first time being back at Hogwarts he was nervous and anxious, he might have gulp a bit as he spoke to Sherlock in a low voice " alright here goes anything Sherlock, we can do it right? Just breath and relax and everything will be fine, I hope," Sherlock meow a bit to Henry almost telling him to relax in which Henry smiled as he was glad to have the furry companion of his best friend with him before taking a few steps and entering the room.
Henry looked around and try to see anyone whom he recognized which made him a bit more relax but also added to his increasing worsen anxiety as Henry looked around he saw a blonde hair boy with glasses
and a cat of his own who looked like the ravenclaw prefects that Henry seen around Hogwarts, moving to another boy with darker hair and another cat but sadly Henry couldn't put a name to him then ending with a tabby cat and their own who happened to be someone who he recognized. The boy was Alan Vanes; the one who hosted the water fight during the summer camp that Henry lost but anyway he did know him a bit so his nerves were settled slightly as he kept his mind off of his hidden life and family and for once try not to be so anxious like always.
Henry smiled at the other three as he spoke " hi, uh I'm Henry and this is Sherlock," my best friend's cat since my family is too poor to buy me one, Henry added that last part in his head as he gestured to the cat still in his arms and occasionally meowing like he was saying hello. Henry then looked over to the ravenclaw perfect and spoke " uh I'm guessing that you put this together since your a perfect? This is a great idea by the way," Sherlock jumped from his arms as he started to make his way to sniff the other cats in the room while Henry turned to Alan and spoke " your Alan right? From the water fight over the summer? Well it's good to see you again mate and your cat is really adorable, what their name?"
Henry smiled at Alan real quick before running over to Sherlock and picked him up again as the cat was trying to jump out or more like onto the glass window which was closed, Henry then took Sherlock to one of the center table that held a towel and was close to the other three as he kept one hand on Sherlock at all times and the other he carefully grab a lightly damped towel from next to a tub of water and started to gently wet the cat before seeing the cat giving him a evil eye and stopping immediately to switch the dampens towel out for a dry one and carefully dry him a bit.
Henry then picked up a cotton tip and carefully cleaned his eyes since they were a bit dirty from playing outside in the black lake sort of and Henry wouldn't want to give him back to Logan with crusty eyes. Henry then with one hand on the cat searched the table for a treat that Sherlock liked and finally found one, he lifted his hand off of Sherlock to quickly grab it but when he did Sherlock jumped from the table and past the others as he roll around the classroom before jumping on one of the desk's and choosing to lay down there. Henry looked up at the other three boy's and their well or better behaved cats
then Sherlock but he also spoiled him so much and Henry thought that Sherlock knew that he wasn't his owner so he misbehaved a lot when Henry had him.
" I'm sorry, Sherlock belongs to my best friend and I think he knows that I'm not his owner so he always misbehaves or gets into more mischief when he's with me, I'm sorry again," the anxious second year then quickly went past the other three and their cats who appeared to be well mannered to try to get a hold of Sherlock who wasn't in the mood to listen to the best friend of his owner.

Open to interactions!Lucia Fox didn't have a pet, but she did like animals - or, at least, as long as they weren't too big. Large dogs were a no, as were horses, but she loved the 'little creatures' and one of the things she hates most about herself was her allergy to rodents.
At least she wasn't a fan of rats.
As soon as she had seen the notice, the second year had hurried to the second floor classroom in bright anticipation of actually being able to say hi and brush someone's pet. Or, even better, pets in multiple!
What she was most looking forward to was seeing if anyone had any pygmy puffs. They were hugely expensive - twenty galleons was a lot to pay for anything as far as she was concerned - but she loved how they were just little furballs that squeaked at you.
When she arrived at the classroom, dressed in grey leggings and a plain blue t-shirt, Lucia looked around and was disappointed to realise that she recognised absolutely no-one.
Yay.
Huh, maybe it could be a socialising event for the humans as well as the pets? Maybe?
She hovered in the doorway uncertainly. Was she even allowed to go in, if she didn't have a pet accompanying her?213/1000

Tina had never had pets growing up. In a family of eight, there was already enough going on in the house, even without pets. She'd always felt very envious of her non-magical friends, who had dogs, cats, or at the very least a hamster, to keep them company during the holidays. At Hogwarts, however, pets were slightly different. Although it was normal to come across the occasional cat, many witches or wizards had owls, lizards, toads, spiders (for some unknown reason; Tina couldn't think why anybody would want one of them as a pet, of all things), rats, snakes, or even these fluffy little 'pygmy puff' things. She wasn't exactly sure what they were. They almost looked like one of those fluffy key-rings that you'd attatch to the back of your school bag.
Point being, Tina wanted to spend time with animals. She'd always been the first to volunteer to feed the family of tadpoles they had at school, even though they were pretty gross and slimy. She would watch with fascination as they gathered around the boiled fish she'd put in their tank, eagerly nibbling away. She always thought that she would make a fantastic pet mum, and today, an opportunity to prove that had arisen (and for money, no less!). Whoever was organising these events deserved some extra credit.
She'd found out about this errand from the noticeboard outside the Great Hall. Pinned there had been a poster, directing them to the spare classroom on the second floor of the school, where a plethora of pets, of all shapes and sizes, would be there for anyone, who was willing to spare their Saturday morning, to pamper and pet. Whilst she had gotten her directions confused (the castle could be so difficult to navigate, with moving staircases and portraits that liked to mess you about) she'd set off early from breakfast, and was well on time.
"'Scuse me!" Tina said brightly to the girl in the doorway, squeezing past without paying her much mind. She would have left it there, if it wasn't for the fact that every other person in the room was a boy. Older boys, no less, at least by a year, and clearly more than that for some of them. Suddenly, Tina felt quite insecure. She definitely needed some female company. Spinning around to face Lucia, hands firmly on her hips, she said, "So! You here to pet some, uh..." Tina glanced back over her shoulder. So far, a total of five cats were occupying the room. That much made sense. If her only other options were a toad or spider or rat, she'd go for a cat as well. "...Kitties? Cause I sure am~!"
She hadn't noticed it before, but this girl was shockingly pretty. She had what seemed like effortless beauty: long black hair and pale skin, blue eyes. Tina had been so quick to overlook her at first, but now she felt inferior. Quickly shaking this sensation off, the young Hufflepuff put on a grin. They were equals, she told herself, ignoring the sweat which was breaking out on her brow. Both of them were here for one reason and one reason only: to cuddle some fluff-balls, of course!
Since neither her nor Lucia had an animal, they needed to approach one of the rather intimidating boys. She flashed her eyes over the room - Pierre, Alan and Henry all had their own cats to contend with, but Pericles was hogging two! The nerve, Tina thought, marching over with the confidence of an angry middle-aged woman who wanted to speak to someone's manager. "Don't worry miss, there'll be plenty of cats for us to pet!" she insisted, rolling up the sleeves of her top as she approached, "Excuse me! Can I have one of those kitties, please?" she asked the white-haired boy, coming to a stop in front of him with her arms folded tight across her chest.
This was an incredibly serious matter.

Open to interactions!Yay, a fellow girl!
Even Lucia wasn't sure whether that thought was sarcatic or not, and she was the one thinking thinking it - although she had never really been good with sarcasm anyway.
The girl in question was shorter than Lucia, and had frizzy dark hair - which was the most the newly second year could see as said girl pushed past her to get into the room.
Then, she seemed to realise something, and spun to look at Lucia.
Okay then...
The blue-eyed girl could look at her properly now, and she could at first glance tell that the only other female in the room had no pet with her either - unless she had a rat, or something, hidden in a pocket? Or a pygmy puff? Wait... didn't pygmy puffs prefer to ride on people's shoulders?
Ugh, where was the magizoologist when you needed one?
Lucia suddenly wished that Willow was with her - Merlin, this was exactly the kind of thing she'd enjoy as well. Briar, meanwhile... Actually, Lucia had no idea where her Ravenclaw sister was. Probably reading - it seemed to be all that the eleven year old did these days.
Pulling herself back into the present, Lucia continued her glance at the girl in front of her. Her stance - hand on hip, huge grin - seemed to reflect her presonality, because when she spoke it was in an assured, confident tone with a mix of childish delight (not that Lucia would notice that particularly, of course).
"Oh, I was hoping for pygmy puffs really," Lucia confided, stepping on tiptoe to see more of the room over the girl's head. "But... there don't seem to be any."
There were only cats, so far - maybe someone would bring a pygmy puff later? Lucia seriously hoped so. In her first year, she had almost considered going to see the Headmaster in his office, just to catch a glimpse of the famous Gregs, but had wimped out at the last minute. In hindsight, it was just as well - as it turned out according to the Hogwarts gossip circle, the headmaster hadn't even been in his office most of the year.
Lowering herself back down from her toes, Lucia stepped sideways so as to leave the doorway - if anyone much bigger than the girl tried to come in, they would probably be stuck, and while that would surely be hilarious for anyone watching it would be downright embarrasing for the two involved. While doing this, she completely missed the slightly anxious look the girl had assumed.
"I'm Lucia, by the way," she said, holding a hand out to the girl. "You?"
What in the name of Merlin...
The girl had now turned from Lucia, and was marching towards a boy who looked about the same age as Lucia did.
Mother of Merlin, she'd even rolled up her sleeves as if about to start a fist fight. This wouldn't end well, of that Lucia was sure.
Her tone was so forthright that the raven-haired girl winced on the boy's behalf.
Unsure how she was supposed to react to this kind of situation - Merlin, why did everything have to be so complicated? - Lucia watched warily from a distance.756/1000

── ❋ ──Open to interactions!𝓐madea was settling back into the hectic pace of balancing schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and her (small) social life. So far it was going fairly well. She had new blonde hair and she felt like this year was going to be great. Despite her underlying catastrophe of new feelings that she was attempting to ignore until they hopefully disappeared, she was doing great. Everything was great.
Already, Amadea had sent Nova home to deliver a message to her mother and her sister. While Amadea had enjoyed staying at Hogwarts for part of the summer while cheering on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team (who had won) against Durmstrang, she had also missed being able to spend the entire summer with her family. She knew that no matter what she had chosen to do though, she would have had some regrets. If she had gone home when school ended, Amadea would have missed the opportunity to bond more with her friends over the summer and get to camp with them. Her FOMO was very evident. Of course, by deciding to stay and not miss out on anything she had shortened the period of time that she was able to spend with her family back in Camberley, hence why it was only the second week of school and she had already sent a letter back home.
Nova, being the perfect owl that she was, had speedily delivered the letter and also brought back a nice reply. Amadea enjoyed hearing from her family; it was nice to hear about the newest baking dilemma her mother faced while trying out new recipes in the kitchen and she enjoyed listening to Kat complain about the horrors of applying to university and the people that annoyed her in school. Amadea also loved getting letters from her Aunt Emma and cousin Jakoby who lived with them as well. Everyone seemed quite busy and happy, which was what Amadea wanted for them. She was glad that they were all faring quite well.
Who wasn't faring quite as well was poor Nova. The owl had flown for quite a while in the process of delivering Amadea's letter and the replies and it seemed like she had flown through some sort of storm as her feathers were quite ruffled. That was why Amadea had decided to bring her to this pet pampering event. While it was quite unheard of to bathe an owl, Amadea still wanted to see what they had to offer for the birds. Nova was the perfect owl and Amadea wanted to give her a nice spa day after the long journey she had been on.
Amadea stepped into the room and surveyed the scene. There were plenty of bins and buckets and sponges for bathing and she quickly located the ones specifically for owls and brought Nova over to an empty one. The water was lukewarm and Amadea carefully set her owl down in the water and let her clean herself. Amadea didn't want to get in the way of Nova's cleaning process so she stood off to the side, looking around the room. There were a fair amount of people already here including some people she recognized like the Prefect who was running the event as well as fellow fourth year Alan Vanes. It seemed like everyone was fairly busy already talking and cleaning so Amadea stayed off to the side. She spotted a box that read 'Eeylops Premium Owl Treats' and walked over to them to pick out a few. Nova was certainly going to get pampered today.

SEPTEMBER 12TH

»»————- ✼ ————-««
After finishing up a piece of toast - lathered with perhaps a bit too much butter - the now second-year Gryffindor lazily sauntered out of the Great Hall, looking forward to a day of rest and relaxation. Free of classes, free of additional homework and lots of time on her hands to explore the castle and roam outdoors. Scarlett was rather looking forward to this. After all, it was Saturday, a blissful day sandwiched between Friday and Sunday, where you could stay up late and also wake up late. The redhead emerged from the hall, where a few lingering students remained, wrapping up their breakfast. Her dark-brown eyes swept over to the notice board, to check for any new updates. There seemed to be a fresh sheet of paper pinned on it, and the girl hurriedly went over to this new, quite curious, announcement.
Scarlett read the poster intently, taking in all of its details, which was rather unlike her. Perhaps it was just her chilled nature today - she didn't seem to be overly energetic or eager about anything. Her movements were relaxed, like a lanky cat stretched out in the sun. In fact, that particular simile was ironic - for today, the students of Hogwarts would be pampering their pets in the spare second-floor classroom, the one that nobody used on a daily basis! The flyer described all recommended methods of caring for the animals and listed the equipment that would be brought to this event - claw clippers, water bins, brushes, sponges and towels alike! As well as snacks. Which was obviously the most important item on the lists. Unfortunately, the snacks wouldn't be for her today, but she would still attend. It gave her something interesting to do and people to meet. As for the animals, they generally didn't enjoy Scarlett's presence. But who knew - perhaps a little creature would finally take a liking to her today!
With a bit of newfound enthusiasm, the redhead bounded up the stairs, carefully timing her movements. Most of the time. Like any other stereotypical Gryffindor, she sometimes decided to just take the risk and jump when the stairs had already started to move, enjoying the thrill of when she seemed to be suspended in thin air before hitting the hard floor. Once she had arrived at the second floor, the girl ran to the spare classroom and immediately burst in.
She wasted no time, quickly scanning the classroom - neat and symmetrical - before her sharp eyes spotted a friend of hers. Lucia Fox! They seemed to run into each other a lot, but the girl didn't mind. Lucia was a good person after all, and a firm ally by now. At least she hoped so. They had met in the Hospital Wing after that truly evil - yes, that would now be her eternal method of describing the girl - Anastasia Beckett had beaten her up. Thank goodness Scarlett had fought back and given Beckett a few punches as well. She dreaded to think what would've happened if the third-year had escaped with no consequence.
As Scarlett walked up to her friend, she spotted another girl in conversation with Lucia as well - a pretty girl with dark skin, shoulder-length dark hair and incredible dark-brown eyes, similar to Scarlett herself.
"Helloooooo!" said Scarlett, a bit loudly and definitely cheerfully. "Good day to you, Lucia, and hi there!"
The last 'hi there' part was directed to the new girl, accompanied with a beam.
"I'm Scarlett, a second-year Gryffindor," said the girl. "How about you?"
But it seemed like her efforts to interact were in vain - the girl had already rolled up her sleeve, and with a no-nonsense look, she marched over to the Ravenclaw prefect guy, the one with white-ish hair. No worries - there would be more time for introductions later. For now, Scarlett decided to follow this fascinating girl, calling out to Lucia as she hurried her pace to keep up with her.
"You coming?" Scarlett said to Lucia as a final goodbye. "Sorryyyyy!"
As Scarlett followed the other girl, she looked at everyone else in the room. Her eyes narrowed particularly at Henry Knight, but for once, she decided to let it slide. Right now, the girl needed an animal, and it seemed like the other girl she was following was currently badgering the prefect for one of the cats. Scarlett admired the girl's bravery and nodded along, adding a quick:
"Yes, it's really not very fair for some people to be without a kitty to pamper. Some of us don't have as much money as others."

Pampering Pristine Pets
Nick strode happily through the halls of Hogwarts, making his way to the Second Floor. He was affectionately holding his pink pygmy puff, Chance, taking him out not for his daily outdoor time, but to take him to a pampering session. One of the Ravenclaw perfects had announced he was setting up a grooming and bathing session for the pets of Hogwarts and Nick was absolutely down for it.Open to Interactions
Grooming Chance was easy enough since he was a pygmy puff, but it still was hard for times for Nick. One, he couldn't buy any cleaning equipment without his mother getting suspicious and two, he just didn't know how to groom him. He's developed some basic knowledge, but it's pretty limited. So far, he's just combed him, but he could definitely use some clipping.
Going into the classroom, there was a couple of pets but not that many since Nick had gotten there fairly early. It was mostly cats, which is basically just a pygmy puff shaped differently as he's noticed. There was one owl, but he had yelled at the girl near it in a time of rage for just, so he stood away from that area. He may go up to meet people, but for now, he would have some bonding time with Chance.
Nick immediately went over to the nail clipping station, mostly so Chance wouldn't end up accidentally clawing any passing pets or people. As he passed the basins full of water, Nick instinctively held Chance tighter to his chest like a protective parent. Pygmy puffs shouldn't get wet, and the one time he accidentally got caught in the rain, Chance hated it because it was harder for him to roll around.
At the clipping station, Nick set down Chance who immediately started rolling around. He didn't try to stop him since he was a very active creature. He had just been carrying him for a while, so he needed to do his thing. While Chance was rolling about, Nick grabbed the nail clippers and looked at the tool to see how it worked. It was pretty easy to figure it out, so he just watched Chance roll for a bit.
After he rolled back to Nick, he put Chance into his lap to begin The Clippening. He carefully took Chance's paw and adjusted the clipper, so his nail was in it. He clipped down, and there was a snap, and his nail fell off. Observing Chance's paw, it looked like he did a good job, the nail being smaller now and having a blunt edge. He continued to clip, giving Chance a few breaks in between.
