Know any good books?
Date: December 12th, 2019
It was a chilly day where most students were in their common rooms or the great hall hanging out by the fire and chatting among themselves while keeping warm. Most of the talk had to do with the approaching holidays where most students would be on their way back home while others would remain at Hogwarts for one reason or another. Henry was among the ones who would be on the train heading back home for the holiday, almost every first year was but before the Hogwarts Express came to bring most of the students back to their houses for a few weeks, Henry was in the library getting some reading done before it was time to leave. As he wander down the aisles looking for a book that he hadn't read yet, he started to think of the people who wrote these books and thought if he could write one to but then again his writing wasn't that good.
As time passed Henry's hands was full by multiple books stacked above his head as he carefully made his way to a open seat which wasn't hard to find since the library was practically empty besides from a few students who were like him and rather read then warm up by a roaring fire with friends. As Henry walked to a empty table, he didn't noticed the book that another students dropped before he tripped over it and went flying as well as the books he was carrying to. The first year seemed to glow red from the embarrassment as he felt both his anxiety and nerves growing as both him and his books laid sprawled out on the floor of the libation. Henry quickly got up and brushed himself off before gathering his books and messager type bag again before anyone started to laugh at him.

Chilly days lead to crowding in the warmer areas of the school. The Hufflepuff common room was no doubt packed full of other first-years, like sardines, wrapping each other up in blankets and piling up to conserve warmth like penguins or some other kind of adorable prey animals. Although it was chillier, the library was a much more pleasant place to be. George was usually not such a bookworm. Something about magic just made books about it all the more interesting. He'd even thought about writing a book to join the ones on the shelves - some kind of beginner's guide to Hogwarts. Hogwarts for Dummies, maybe? He'd have to check out a book on wizarding copyright law if he wanted to write something like that.
George selected a voluminous tome on the subject of medical magic, particularly the study of vampirism. While he normally took out books that had a more societal view on the subject matter, he figured that a scientific sort of text would give him a better basis to evaluate the arguments in other books. As well, these sort of practical books were chock full of gnarly pictures of vampire teeth and stuff like that. The pictures were more memorable than most of the words, really.
On his journey back to a table, he turned just in time to witness Henry tripping over a book and sending a tower of books flying over the floor of the library. George couldn't help but violate the rule of silence in the library as he burst out into laughter, walking over with his own book in hand to help the other boy gather his things. "That was a graceful move," George praised, kneeling down to help the fellow gather his things.
George didn't notice as he slipped his own book into the pile of Henry's books, though once he realized, he figured that it was fine. He had done the boy a big favour by gathering his things up for him - the least he could do in return was carry a book. "You going to a table? What are you studying for with all that? The important exams aren't for another four years."

As Henry continued to hurry and pick up his books, he saw as another boy with brow hair and brown eyes seem to comment on his fall but he then started to help him, Henry smiled sort of at the boy for helping him but still felt rather embarrassed as he return to a standing position but this time holding his stack of books again which seemed bigger than usual. Henry then spotted a book that he didn't get but figure it must have belong to the boy that was helping him so didn't say anything, since he didn't mind carrying it for the kid after all he did help him gather his belongings instead of laugh at him, well he didn't quite see if he laughed at him but he did help him.
Henry then heard the boy ask if he was going to a table and why he was reading all those books as their owls and newts weren't for a few years, to which Henry nodded and spoke " I was just looking for a empty table," which he found a few feet away and Henry walked to it and placed his books, neatly on the table before turning back to the boy and saying " Thanks for t..the help, and I know our owls are sometime away. I just like to r..read and learn, I'm a b..bit odd you can say," Henry turned back to the pile and pick up the book that he guessed was the kid's and handed it back to him as he spoke " I'm assuming your a f..first year to then, I'm Henry. Uh Henry Knight," Henry thought about saying his house but decided against it, but then saw that he was wearing a slytherin sweater type shirt so he added " I'm not like m...most Slytherin's,
I don't c...care about blood status or any of t..that. I much r..rather r..read a good book which explains why I'm never in my common room." Henry thought he said too much and felt his anxiety about to pour down on him so instead he just hand the book out for the kid and didn't say anything else.

I'm so late with this - so obviously no rush on a reply. I'll try to be more brisk from now on! August took it out of me.George had laughed, of course. It was funny! He couldn't be blamed for laughing at things that were funny, because that was the whole point of those things. Even if they were at someone's expense, like poor Henry's tumble with the books. Laughter was a cruel necessity in such cases, and he would not deprive himself the pleasure of supplying it. "If it were odd to read and learn, you'd be in a school full of kooks," he said, pausing to ponder the truth of that statement as he walked to the nearest empty table, expecting Henry to trail behind him.
The young Hufflepuff seemed to invite himself to join in the study session, taking a seat across the table from Henry and sitting down - waiting patiently for the Slytherin to return his book and taking it graciously when it was offered. "That's right! I'm George Henry! I write for the Hogwarts Headliner," he informed the other boy, reaching up to adjust his collar. Needed to have the appearance to match the title - a certain aura of professionalism and mystique, betrayed by the fact that he was just some snot-nosed twelve year old who was far too into everybody's business for his own good.
"Do most Slytherin's care about blood status and things like that?" George wondered. He knew the answer, but it was more interesting to hear what people thought the truth was than to be content with what he believed it to be.
"From the sounds of things, you're really more of a Ravenclaw type. Always reading and being odd and things like that," he offered, leaning in across the table, elbows pressed into the cover of the book he'd checked out himself, creating subtle depressions over the eyes of a particular long-fanged vampire on the cover. "I am sort of that way too. In Hufflepuff, though. We're hard workers or something. I was hoping for Gryffindor, really."

When the boy made a reply about it not being odd to read or learn in school which made Henry smile a bit and saw that he was headed over to a table in which Henry followed and watched as the boy took a seat. Henry however placed the stack of books in the center of table before taking a seat opposite of the boy has he spoke again, this time introducing himself as George Henry who wrote for the Hogwarts headliner something this first year was considering doing. Henry pushed his stack of books to the side of himself so he could listened and look at George before speaking " it's nice t..to meet you George and that's r..really cool that your write for the headliner," Henry then thought about something before saying " I hope you d..don't mind my stutter? It's not something I c..can control and I know that other s..sometimes do mind it."
Henry didn't dwell on that for all as George asked about Slytherin's and blood status in which Henry replied " some Slytherin's d..do care about blood s..status and that thing. Bloody stupid I know b..but there are still those w..who live by it. I never c...cared for blood status or any of that," Henry then heard him say that he should be in ravenclaw in which he replied " f..funny thing was the s..sorting hat was about to put me in r..ravenclaw when it change it's mind at t..the last minute," Henry then heard George mention about wanting gryffindor when he was sorted into hufflepuff in which Henry laughed a bit " you d..do seem like you m..make a good gryffindor, brave and kind or uh loyal but hufflepuff is g..great to, my best f..friend is a hufflepuff."
