Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
The silence that followed Elsian's mirth was relaxing . As every step took them closer to their goal, the street seemed to slowly get devoid of life. As it stands, it oddly felt peaceful to William. Just like some unknown corner in his principal house, it exuded a soothing otherworldly atmosphere. It was completely cut off from the normally busy London streets. It helped William release the embarrassement he'd built up after his little stunt. The hand in his own also helped more than he would care to admit.
His friend faltered at his question, the Slytherin almost immediately gaze at Elsi worriedly. Was it possible his question was indiscreet? He let his hazel eyes run across his friend before he looked at his shoes. Left, right, left, right. Just like a clock, just as soothing as the atmosphere. Even if the Gryffondor was disturbed at his side, it was still peaceful.
Finally, Elsian's voice pierced the silence. It surprised him a bit, though he couldn't say he was much better. Scouting the fair probably wasn't something people did at fairs. William caught the Gryffondor's sheepish glance. A dry chuckle escaped him as he looked forward again. "Is that the best you've got?", he quiped.
"Now though? I'm thinking going on the more sketchy rides sound a lot more fun not that I have someone to die with if it breaks~" At this, William stiffened a bit. A memory of a ride down the Hogwarts staircase. Elsian's present idea was as appealing as when he had been on the verge of the first flight of stairs. But, that memory still quite fresh, the rush of adrenaline was more than worth it. Not only that but the curious part of his mind begged him to investigate further than he had originally planed.
"With any luck we won't look completely absurd while dieing"

OOC: Sorry for the "slight" delay… School was starting and it was a lot more stressfull than I thought it would be. Thanks for waiting!

Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
Smirking at the others stiffness he pushed at the others side lightly, moving to swing their joined hands back and forth once he pulled back a bit, easily forcing Williams arm to swing with his. “Eh, is that fear I hear?” he prodded teasingly.
“Don’t worry, as the brave, loyal Gryffindor of the team, shall catch you when you faint.” he declared melodramatically, slowing them down to practically a crawl when he slumped over Wills side, the other unable to move away with how he clutched the others hand, bringing it up to clasp in both of his own like a maiden clutching a token whilst he continued to tease in his tangent.
“I may drop you if you're too heavy but that is a sacrifice....I’m willing to take.” he finished, looking and sounding as if he’d just single handedly protected the Slytherins honor rather than openly admitting to being likely to drop him.
With a snicker he dropped Wills hand back to their sides, slightly swinging it again in time with their steps as he pulled the other to actually walk again at a normal pace. Another car passed, then two before he finally spoke up again, “ so what were you doing out here anyways?”
It was practically night now. Streetlamps just starting to flicker to life, the last of the light blue of the sky pushed away in favor of the orange and pink skies, and the barest of breezes fluttering by as the summer air began to cool. It was a perfect time for a fair but...not much else. At least, not in this part of town from what he could tell.
"Were you actually going to the carnival too?"

Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
William was lightly shoved to the side, helping him come around his small moment of fear. Their swinging hands brought a genuine smile that he quickly hid. Elsian jabbed a bit at his previous stiffness. It made him scoff, as if. Of course, he wasn't scared. The looming threat of death didn't bother him at all. Or that's what he murmured to himself.
The weight of the Gryffondor slowly dropped on the Slytherin, slowing their advance to no more than a snail's pace. He tried, without much success to push the other off, but he soon enough found both his hands trapped between those of Elsian. William had a hard time not bursting in laughter before Elsi's dramatics.
A nervous laugh escaped from William, also a result of the little scene the Gryffondor made, as the other proudly claimed he would most likely drop him. Holding tight for a second, he locked eyes with Elsian and said between two bursts, " I feel much safer thanks to you."
It wasn't a second later, one of his hands were freed, and he was pulled to a strut beside the other boy. A moment passed, two cars most likely going over the limit also zoomed by. William breathed the summer air deeply. It was chilly, normal for this time of the year in England.
"So what were you doing out here anyways?" Elsian's voice pulled him out of his thought. His answer though came easily, " Just walking around in fact. As I said, it's the first time I'm around here, taking a look couldn't hurt. The city is surprisingly interesting even if were far from most big tourist's attractions. "
At Elsian's second question, William faked an offended look, "I'll let you know that I was going to the fair… I just had a lot of unsupervised time on my hands and wanted to explore a bit. Wouldn't you? "

Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
@William DuboisHe hummed, as if he was hearing the words but not quite agreeing with him before it faded into the background. Seemingly taking the others words at face value more than anything.
It wasn’t like he entirely disagreed with William, he didn’t necessarily think the other was lying after all. Elsian was sure that the city could be interesting, that didn’t mean he personally saw the appeal. Then again that might have been his previous sour mood talking.
“It can,” he agreed lightly.
‘When you’re not alone and lost’, went unsaid.
Giving a sharp grin at Wills offended look he snickered, shaking his head slightly. “Honestly I think I’ll leave solo exploring to the more courageous Gryffindors. I don’t really fancy getting lost when it's close to dark and I’m not all that good at the whole brave exploring thing.”
He nodded to himself slightly, giving the other a side look, “not like a certain snake I know, constantly snatching at people with zero hesitation,” he prodded, teasingly.
They turned a corner and before the other could respond, twinkling lights and slightly distant music caught Elsian's attention right quick. You could hear the distant sounds of chattering and lights seemed to glow and catch the eye like moths to a flame in the quickly looming night, the figures of some of the taller rides in the distance were especially eye catching in the way some of the colorful bulbs were starting to flicker to life as it got dark enough to actually show and the striped tents dotted in the distance easily reminded him of the movies Sage had shown him during the early summer.
Stuttering in his step for a moment Elsi took in the sight, the fast that they’d actually arrived and were this close to getting inside finally seeming to register in his brain, it didn’t take long at all for the pause to turn into him impulsively tightening his grip to pull at Wills hand to make him walk faster. It may have come off as a bit of a surprise to the Slytherin when Elsi went ahead and started to tug at the other's arm more urgently in all honesty. As if the place was going to just up and leave anytime soon, it didn’t seem to really matter to Elsi as he turned to look at William with wide eyes and a smile rather than some sassy remark on his direction skills.
“Finally found it~” he chirped, sliding them into one of the tinier lines selling tickets and entry bracelets.
Obviously a bit more excited than he’d most likely led the other to believe there was a new energy to his step as they neared the lines, grin never faltering as they stepped up behind an older couple buying an entry ticket.
“It’s different than I expected,” he thought aloud, peering at the makeshift gate leading into the distance and out of sight surrounding the ‘park’; definitely bigger, louder if the chatter he could hear coming from the area was anything to go by. “I kinda thought it’d be smaller,” he admitted, looking back to Will, “guess that means you have more death rides to test,” he snarked.

Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
William brushed off Elsian's non commital answer. Every city couldn't appeal to everybody. After all, people could be just as different as Paris and London. He swung their hands a little as said city stretched around them.
Elsian's sharp grin made him warm inside as he got tease. Not a lot of people had playfully teased him like that, but it felt right. He also had to admit he had a bad habit of grabbing people, it was a lot more easy to catch someone's attention anyway.
Before he could say anything, they turned the last corner separating them from the fair. Laughs and voices were clearer than they had been all evening. Lights shone brighter as if to light the whole place as if it was day. The white was stripped with all the colors of the rainbow flashing every second. People were attracted to the looming rides slowly lighting up like moths to a flame and the gates got slowly crowded as both of their steps faltered. William couldn't fault his companion for their brief stop as the view was frankly amazing for something that would barely be there for a month.
William felt his arm getting tug toward the fair. He tightened his grip in response, his eyes barely focused on the boy leading him. They speed walk the rest of the way, the Slytherin stumbling after the Gryffindor in an effort to keep the pace. He was lead surely by his companion into one of the line before the entrance.
William turned to Elsi as soon as they stopped. The eyes he was met with were filled to the brim with the same excitement and wonder he felt. Even a smile tugged at the corner of his lips in his haste to respond. Yes, they'd found it, not that he was lost. They waited with heated breath for their turn to come at the register. Warmth washed over the boy as he remembered his initial reason to get to this place. Exploring couldn't hold a candle to what he was sure was to come with Elsian.
The Gryffondor's quip surprised him. He hadn't had any expectation. He was not as familiar to fair as others. Though he had to admit, from what he remembered from France, they were usually smaller in size. "guess that means you have more death rides to test, "said Elsian. William snickered at that, " You? I think you meant We. I'll need my brave Gryffondor to catch me."
As he said that, they pulled up to the booth selling tickets. William paid, got the little bracelet that came with his admission and stepped into the fair

Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
@William DuboisHe fiddled with the tiny bracelet. Letting go to wander after the other he nudged William, coming up behind him to prod the other boy's side with his elbow lightly, “Yeah, I’ll make sure to drop you right after too.”
It wouldn’t be much of a surprise for a bunch of kids on their own to be excited about a fair to most anybody really. Not with the bright lights, junk food and rides to look forward to. So for a kid who’d only been to one muggle fair that he could actually remember? Well, if you took that into consideration it was no wonder he had to pause just to take in the sight for a moment; the smell of cotton candy, the happy screams of people in the distance, the bright, colorful decorations; well, he wanted to see it all.
From their perch in the outskirts of the fair they were closest to the food stalls it seemed and it made sense that he could practically taste pure sugar on the tip of his tongue. But he could also see some game stalls scattered out leading further into the fair to even more games and even a few rides. It almost reminded him of stories Sage and him would read, like a twisted version of the paths that would draw you in deeper to some morphed version of paradise and Elsian couldn't think of a single reason to fight that pull.
Walking forward he led the further into the fair; taking in the crowds there were more people than it’d originally looked like from the entrance and he found himself having to weave around some older teens and adults that either hardly noticed them, or didn’t care enough to watch where they were going. He didn’t exactly fancy losing the other and while he wasn’t afraid of being alone, silly as it was, his stomach twisted at the thought of losing the other boy in the crowds. Flipping a little every time he was forced away from his friend.
Biting the inside of his cheek and feeling a bit foolish he turned to Will, snaking out an arm to nab the others hand. He knew it was a bit childish, especially with how often he was on his own but it made him feel better. Better enough to shove whatever embarrassment his brain tried to force on him and tug at the Slytherins arm and past all the colorful game booths when a ride caught his eye at least.
Excited he pointed out the ride, taking in the bright red & orange lights covering the wildly flipping carts and rotating crank. The Zipper, spelled out in bright orange lights and impossible to miss with the screams pouring out. Whipping his head to the other he grinned, lightly pulling on his hand with an excited look.
“Wanna try that one?” he looked back at the ride, eyeing up the carts.
Of course if the other refused, and wanted something smaller he'd agree. Tease the other? Oh definitely but he wouldn't force the other...right away at least.
“We’ll even be locked in, so promise to catch you if you faint.” He snickered.

Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
All the lights and people fascinated him. If their ever was chaos personified, that ought to be it. His eyes grew wide, his mind reeling, as if passing through the booth had suddenly transported him in a brand new world. It was loud, more than he would usually prefer, but he found that for a short time, he could enjoy it.
A sharp elbow to the side brought him back to the present. William turned to face his friend before snickering at his statement. " Well, that would just be rude", the boy said, still grinning. Almost immediately, William took off, maybe a bit faster than intended. The food stands were mouth watering with their collection of snacks from cotton candy to pretzel, but they didn't hold as much interest as the ride. The scent was also a bit off putting almost to the point of gagging from the sugar.
As they advanced in the fair, the food stands made way for games, some rides and crowded alleys. William had to dart around legs and groups only to keep a steady pace. It was harder to see were they were going, and to admire all that the fair had to offer. No one seemed to even pay attention to where they were or whose toes they would crush, making the path reminiscent of business parties his parents would make him attend.
While he advanced, he seemed to loose sight of Elsi more than once. Every time would make him pause only to feel a stab at his heart. He kept telling himself it wasn't fear, just worry for his friend, but it was always accompanied by the search of a familiar face. As they neared what ought to be the middle of the fair ground, he felt à hand wrap itself around his. He whipped around, ready to pull his hand out when he noticed who it was. He squeezed Elsi's hand and let himself get dragged around, a warm feeling filling his chest at the reassurance.
His friend stopped, and William looked at whatever ride had caught Elsian's attention. He couldn't help but gulp at the sight of the impressive piece of machinery. He caught Elsi's grin from the corner of his eyes, still too concerned by the ride before him. At the gryffondor's suggestion, William fought the urge to run away. From that point, perhaps it was pride or the memory of the stair sledding, but he nodded before even hearing Elsian's teasing.
"Let's do it. If you are not too scared that is", William replied. The side grin he showed only to help overpower whatever fight or flight instinct who wanted to take over his body.

Summer Fair Meeting (PV)
@William DuboisSmiling to himself he squeezed back lightly; it made something in his chest tighten and relax all at once and all at once Elsian was glad he’d run into the other boy. Couldn’t fathom being here alone.
“Don't worry,” he snarked, dropping the smile to playfully leer at the other, “I wouldn’t want to put you out of a job.”
The line was small, small enough that they only had to wait for 4 groups to be let on until it was finally their turn, the rest of the carts probably mostly filled and ready to start. Stepping forward he brandished his wrist when asked eyeing their cart curiously and...well, not quite critically but close to it. It was obviously older but still well kept, the striped red and orange paint giving it a fun, quirky feel like the rest of the park that vaguely reminded him of his house's striped banners. As they were let through the gate he couldn’t help but eye the other closed cages, for that's what they were no matter how brightly colored, taking in the different colored stripes.
The one behind them a blue and purple, the one above their open cart a dark green and lighter jade and Elsi nudged Will, nodding to the carts with a boyish grin. “Better be,” he pointed, free hand going from the green cart to their red one, “Gryffindor!” He lightly cheered, blatantly mocking the sorting hat.
Dropping his hand there was a second of silence as the ride manager messed with the controls, bringing the cart closer to the ground for them.
Turning to the other he shook his head, giving an obviously faked solemn tone as the guy manning the ride moved, fiddling with the locked door in front of them. “We got the stupidest house.” he turned, sighing deeply while away fighting a grin as their cart door swung open for them.
“You know it's a sign right?” He queried but didn’t elaborate.
Letting go of the other boy's hand he happily climbed into their personal death cage, the metal shaking back and forth a bit violently only to be stopped by the older teenager. Plopping down on his side of the slightly padded seats & waiting for the Slytherin to climb in after him he eyed his surroundings for a second, seemingly thinking about something. It wasn’t until the other boy was halfway in, balanced on shaky metal before sitting that he seemed to come to a conclusion and he turned to William.
“There’s no seatbelts.” He said, giving that same fake solemn tone. However, the small excited smile he wore betrayed the fact that he was not, in fact, worried about the lack of seatbelts.
