Thanks! Katie said. Katie felt better that she wasn't the only one who'd had trouble with changing what she had berm tools was right and wrong since before she could walk. I think it is important to learn and think on how muggle do things. We are all human after all.
Katie leaned back on her elbows and thought about what had been said. She agreed with Siobhán and wished she hadn't been so prejudiced and bigoted sooner. She pulled out a granola bar that she'd snagged from the lunch table, and ate her snack.
Katie was big on snacks. She always had to have a mid morning and a mid afternoon snack. She hasn't had a mid morning snack today, seeing as she'd been asleep, but today was an exception. Katie would take what she needed from the dining hall during meals and have it between classes, outside, or in her dorms depending on the day of the week and temperature it was.
My mum and father are probably going to be expecting me to write to them soon. Katie said, of topic. She pulled out a quill and a few blank pieces of parchment, and started to write:
Dear Mum,

How are you doing today? I got sorted into Slytherin just like you and dad and met a nice girl naked Siobhán. We met in the library and she also likes plants and herbology. I am loving Hogwarts and I can see what you mean. It truly is a wonderful experience. The food is good too and I am enjoying being here.

I have done our family name proud and have not been an embarrassment. There are a lot of muggle borns at this school, but I have nut spent much time around them. Siobhán is a pure-blood whose family is similarly aligned with ours; she is in the Moore family. I have also accepted that pure-blood ball incubation you wanted me to accept, so the Palsorettes will be going.

Have a wonderful day and I hope to hear back from you soon!

Sincerely,

Your daughter, Katie

Sure, Katie had been misleading in her second paragraph, but she wasn't risking getting "punished" for leaving our that information on blood purity stuff and her parents wouldn't know she'd been misleading. She had also technically flat out lied I the last paragraph, but she knew they'd fret I'd she didn't write and it was rude to say that she didn't hook pure to hear from them soon. Katie took out a new piece of parchment, dipped her quill in ink, and started writing again.

Sure, it had been basically a carbon copy of her mother's letter, but her parents had married for politics not for live and would likely not check with each other. With that, Katie out the letters back into her bag to take to the Owlery later and leaned back again.

Pulling her knees up to her chest, Siobhán laid her head on her knees. "You're lucky. At least your parents expect you to write to them. My parents wouldn't even notice a letter from me came if it punched them on the nose. Too busy with their jobs all the time. I bet you that if I sent a letter to them, I'd get one back from one of the houselves, reminding me that 'Mister and Misses Moore are too busy to send back correspondence at this very moment. Try again later'. The only time when they have time is maybe on my birthday and even then, they only spend a couple hours with me."

Siobhán had spent hours wondering what it would be like if her parents had ever got fired from their jobs. Her mother would be able to help in the garden while talking about anything and everything from how the weather was to actually asking "how are you doing". Her father could be able spend time relaxing instead of stressing over who the murderer was. Maybe they could actually resemble some sort of family. Sadly though, her parents are workaholics and will always will be.

On one hand, Siobhán was grateful to be at school learning and to be working towards a goal in the future. On the other hand, she didn't want to grow up and become a mindless work junky who ignored people around her because she had no time for any type of socializing. Siobhán sighed heavily and looked down at the caterpillar slowly moving it way towards the lake in front of her.

Yeah, but with parents like mine, it's more of a curse. If I seem to be even the slightest bit out of line, they make sure to punish me at the soonest possible minute. And they aren't fond of howlers for their punishments. Katie said with a frustrated groan. Even if she disagreed with her parents I'm the slightest, that was enough to warrant a reaction / punishment.
Katie shuddered as she thought of how she'd be reprimanded if her parents even suspected her off being, in their eyes, a blood traitor. It sickened her that she'd once thought that she was better because she had four magical grandparents, and it further disgusted her when she thought of the lengths she would have to go to keep it a secret from her parents now.
She sighed. Her parents hadn't fought for Voldemort in the last war, but they'd wanted to. They were too young to fight of course, having been eleven and twelve, but her grandparents had fought for him. They were low level death rates, but their pearly white masks and robes had been her parents' prized possession. They treated it as an heirloom. They truly wanted to join, but since they couldn't, their own parents' reminders of join became of utmost importance to them. Of course all of her grandparents were in Azkaban now. She remembered hearing takes off what her grandparents had done before bed, and shuddered. How could Katie have once been so ctrl as to not question the utter hateful, bigoted garbage her parents fed to her growing up.

"Imagine if You-Know-Who wasn't born? The world world would be so different compared to how it is now." Siobhán knew that tiny infinitesimal things could change the world. If blood purity was never questioned, or even looked at for a moment, that pure bloods and muggle-borns were all the same, life would be easier for everyone. If her parents didn't have to work so hard she might not be so lonely. So many people that Siobhán has read about, not just in the magical sense, but in the muggle sense have changed their own worlds, why can't she and Katie? What made the others so different? Muggle have changes the world just for questioning if something exists or not. Katie and Siobhán had magic on their side. Surely it would be easier for them?

Siobhán had read that there could be multiple universes, right next to each other. Vibrating against one another, and each one has a different timeline. It opens her mind to all the possibilities. Her parents retiring, not having to work so hard herself to get her parents attention, actually living like an eleven year old and not questioning the world's very existence. Siobhán sighed heavily again,"I wish I could change the world. Then maybe, just maybe, life would be a little bit happier."

That would be great if the blood purists had never been around. While I do believe that magic is magic and their is no light and dark, the whole blood purity thing just send stupid and immature. As to light/dark magic, I think there is only a few magic that should truly be banned and that intent should be judged instead of the spell. You could levitate someone of a cliff or set someone on fire our behead someone all with light spells. On the other hand, you could prevent someone from committing suicide with the imperious, put sick and suffering animals down painlessly with the killing course, or maybe stimulate nerve explained for someone, by using the cruciatus. Not sure I the last one though and of course I can't see any good in horcruxes. I mean, I don't know if there's a water boiling curse, but that could be used to make our lives easier by boiling our water for tea or four hurting someone by boiling the water inside of them as humans are around 70% water. Katie said softly, lost in thought. I guess I just wish humans could be kind to either and not hurt or kill whither over our differences. I still can't believe I ever thought mud- sorry muggle-borns were inferior to pure-bloods. Why are my parents do prejudiced and cruel? Katie said, finally after a dead silent pause in the conversation. Sorry for ranting there. Katie added.

It's okay. I suppose that's just how humans are. They have this need to feel like their more righteous than others, even though their all the same. It's really weird. It's almost as if humans need to have social disorder and disorganization to survive. Having someone above you or beneath you shouldn't be a way of life, but somehow it's how it always seems to be. Not just in the Wizarding world, but also in the history of muggles. Someone, somewhere, always has to look down on someone that they deem lesser than them. It's the way the world works sadly. There's always that one person who can change the way it works, but someone people are so set in their ways that they just can forgive and forget. They have to die looking down on people and I don't understand why. Maybe it's a pride thing? They'd be too ashamed of themselves if they did differently? Or maybe the shame of people in their circle looking down on them for changing?" Siobhán looked at Katie.

"At least you are making an effort to do differently than the way you were raised. Others just don't seem to care that the word doesn't work like it used to." Siobhán shrugged. "Why do we even still call them "muggle borns" anymore? They're just witches and wizards."

Siobhán sighed. She knew that Katie's parents were horrible people, but Katie couldn't really do anything it seemed. "You do know what they're doing to you is illegal, right? If tried, they could go to Azkaban for the rest of their lives. My father is an Auror, he can take care of it, even though we technically live in a different country. It's the same law they're breaking everywhere."

She hated that Katie was so powerless against her parents, the cruel bastards. No one, not even the worst person imaginable deserved to be raised by parents with such horrible personalities and abilities. "It's just so horrible. I'm amazed that you haven't attempted to run away. Sneak into the Ministry and find some help. Have you been to the Ministry before? It might be hard to find if you haven't. Maybe you should stay at school for the holidays, that way you're a little safer."

Siobhán couldn't bare to imagine what Katie was going through. It was all so horrible. It made her think about how even Katie could possibly be here right now, talking to her considering the things her parents have done to her. It's all just unimaginable and insane. Why would anyone do the things they've done? In the name of what? If you asked Siobhán, she would say the blood supremacy is a load of shit. It's all pointless to her and she doesn't understand why there are some people, such as Katie's parents, that are taking it so seriously still, let alone too seriously. It doesn't make any sense. Siobhán hoped that eventually Katie's parents would end up in Azkaban where they belonged.

"You're right, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed that you didn't try to escape your parents. It's a rubbish system. My parents aren't as extreme as yours, but I suppose. You'll have to ask your parents if it's all right. They might not like you going all the way to Ireland, but we'll have to see. Who knows, maybe my parents won't even read the letter I send them and they'll send back a hearty 'Whatever'", Siobhán sighed.

Her parents would rather laugh and jest about how she had actually made a friend, but wouldn't deny her the time to spend with them. They just find it unbelievable that their recluse of a daughter went outside and found a friend. Though, Siobhán is surprised as well, too. She didn't expect to have many friends, if any at all, when she came to school. She would have been perfectly happy without having a single friend. But destiny had a different path, she thought. She didn't even know how to began a letter like that, even though she knew she'd have to try.

"I'll write them as soon as I can. I can't promise anything though. They might not care about you coming to visit, but then again they might, since I've never expressed interest in having a friend or two. We'll have to wait and see."

Since she wasn't prone to hugging very often as others might do, Siobhán awkwardly wrapped her arms around Katie as she cried. The marks and scars are horrendous and Siobhán could barely believe her eyes when she saw them. She couldn't believe that anyone, not even the devil himself could be capable of such horrible torture to a child. It's unimaginable. It even made her cry, knowing that Katie was suffering from the hands that are suppose to love and nurture her, but instead are beating her down like a dog.

"The Irish ministry isn't that much better, but they know not to ignore a child just because their parents are rich and know how to use an unforgivable. I'll write to my father tonight and let him know what is going on. Hopefully as soon as he get's it, he'll notify the Head Auror immediately. My mother might even be able to help since she's an Unspeakable. She knows a few potions that can help get rid of your cuts, bruises and scars, if that's what you want, since all she does is research magical artifacts all day. Don't worry, you'll be safe soon," Siobhán said softly.

Siobhán made note that as soon as they left the lake, she would eat a quick dinner, go back to the dorms, and start writing her letter. She'd risk sneaking out after curfew if it meant sending that letter off. The sooner all of this tragedy is done with, the better, especially for Katie, so that she can breathe freely without fearing if she's betrayed blood supremacy with a simple exhale of air. No one should live and breath fear. No one.

Katie was relieved that Siobhán didn't judge her by her scars. She was glad that the Irish ministry might be able to help her. While she knew in all honesty, that her parents wouldn't face any consequences, at least she wouldn't be their daughter any more. She didn't know what would become of her last name. If they officially disowned her, she'd be Katie No-name. If they didn't, she'd still be Katie Palsorette, but she'd lose all access to the vault and no longer be eligible for heirship. While she didn't mind not being heir, it'd be hard with so little money and she wouldn't ever be able to vote on the Wizengamot, because she wouldn't have seats. She wasn't sure which would be worse: being Katie Palsorette - disgraced pure-blood or Katie No-name - disowned pure-blood. At this point, she didn't really care though. Anything to get away from her parents.
Thank you so much. Katie minutes into Siobhán's shoulder, as she cried. Thank you so so much. Siobhán couldn't possibly know how great it felt to have someone, for the first time in her life, truly, honest-to-god care about her. She hugged Siobhán tighter. Thank you. She whispered softly, one last time.
