Okay, so maybe this one wasn't a traditional event typically seen at field days, but Ami felt like it embodied so much of her early childhood. Bottle flipping was something she fondly remembered herself doing in every single one of her classes to annoy her teachers, so she figured that she fight as well make it competitive. Not many pureblooded students would remember the craze of bottle flipping, but those who grew up in the No-Maj world might get a good laugh out of it.

Once a good number of students showed up in front of her, Ami clapped her hands together in anticipation. "Everyone who's supposed to be here is here, yeah? Say something if you're not here." ... what? Whatever, moving on. "Before you lies the greatest event of all time... bottle-flipping." Clapping wildly, the Hufflepuff grinned toothily at the students gathered before her. "If y'all aren't familiar, bottle flipping is an ancient art where one attempts to grasp a plastic water bottle, like so-" Ami said, grabbing one of the water bottles by the cap, "And then proceeds to flip it." With a flick of her wrist, the bottle left her hand and went sailing through the air... smashing into the ground on its side and exploding everywhere.

Wincing slightly, Ami grinned and shrugged sheepishly. "Okay, well, a successful bottle flip would mean that you land the bottle on its base. So, y'all are gonna use the Knockback Jinx to try and flip as many water bottles from these crates to those ones, over there. Okay? You'll have... uh, let's see. 5 minutes is reasonable, right? Right! Perfect. Go, go, go!"

Nell approached the table at which this strange event would occur. Nell had grown up in a muggle household, but she wasn't used to playing games. The young girl would always have spent her time reading or something of the like. Her family hadn't introduced the girl to any games like the one they'd be playing today. Bottle Flip. Nell really wasn't sure why she had chosen to participate. Was it the attempt to make new friends that would probably fail? Was it the small bit of adrenaline she got to do so? Nell wasn't really sure, and she didn't want to make nay wild guesses to stress herself out even more over a little game. Nell glanced down at the wand in her hand. Just cast the spell. Nell shakily pointed the wand at the water bottle. Why the heck was she nervous? Nell opened her mouth to say the incantation. Was anyone looking at her? Nell began to move her wand in the familiar hand motion. Just cast it already! "Flipendo!" Nell said steadily whilst moving her wand. She clenched her eyes shut. She didn't want to see if she had landed the bottle or if she even casted the spell right.

Lizzie gazed around at the faces around her as she approached her event. No one she knew. Oh well. Maybe she'd make a friend while she failed at flipping bottles. As a half-blood who had attended muggle primary school, she'd witnessed bottle flipping at its trendiest point, although she had been very young at the time. It was hard to forget though when she'd been bonked on the head by a bottle thrown by an overly enthusiastic kid.

She hesitantly stepped up to the table, next to a brown-haired girl who she'd never seen before. Before she could greet her neighbor, an older girl--probably one of the ones who'd organized the event-- started to explain what exactly they'd be doing. The redhead found herself giggling at how the girl was describing bottle flipping. Bottle flipping being an ancient art? Hilarious.

They were going to use the knockback jinx to flip the bottles?! That was going to be interesting, considering how Lizzie wasn't exactly the best at spells of any sort. Hell, now that she was thinking about it, she couldn't remember what the incantation was. Luckily, as the Hufflepuff cheered for them to start, the girl beside her cast her spell pretty quickly. Flipendo, that was it, that was the incantation. Lizzie felt stupid for not remembering that. "Flipendo," she promptly recited, waving her wand in what she hoped was the right movement and wishing for the best.

Action- flipping
Amara glanced around the courtyard as she walked up to her group for the field day, bottle flipping. The sky was as clear as those plastic bottles and the sun as bright as the leader's hair. While bottle flipping is an activity she has never done before, with or without magic, the second year was both excited and a bit confused on why this would even be an activity, where is the fun in flipping a bottle?

The blonde, wearing a simple outfit of black and denim, listens closely as the older, redheaded Hufflepuff explains the rules of the event. This clearly is an exciting event for muggle-borns, something Amara most definitely is not.

Pulling out her simple, ebony black wand, Amara rubs her index finger across it as she listens to the fourth year. Rolling her eyes when she fails, Amara cracks her neck and starts to plot her win, regardless of how fun the activity is.

"Flipendo" she recites primly, her odd accent making the words sound smooth as honey. With a flick of her wrist, Amara sends the plastic bottle, side note: the muggles need to stop being so wasteful with things like this, reuse them please, flying into the air and hopefully into a standing position.

Piérre remembered when the bottle-flipping thing was a craze. Muggles were so funny sometimes, but even the Britalian had to admit, even that craze was kind of fun in its own aggrivating way. It was fun to the point that even if Piérre was annoying others, it was well worth the stinging comments and sideways looks. Today Piérre was sporting a Gryffindor outfit, a gold t-shirt underneath a knit red vest. He wore plain black slacks and cinched around his hips was a brown leather belt buckled with a gold clasp. It looked nice and renaissance, just the way that Piérre liked it.

He had been looking forward to this Field day ever since he had signed up, and with a new year and some more experience under his belt, and the simplicities of the rules, Piérre was more than certain that he could easily dominate or at least compete in this surprisingly delightful competition. After listening to the rules, the Britalian nodded happily, already scoping out his first target, reciting the spell 'Flipendo' in his head and flicking his wand the right way. With a giddy smile, Piérre swished his faithful yew wand, the spell already bubbling from his lips. "Flipendo!"

[font= Spectral]You know what? Aurelia was quite excited to go the field day. She wasn't sure whether or not to sign up but then decided that she didn't have anything better to do... so why not? School had just begun, so it was good to start with a fun activity.

Aurelia put on a white tank top, with a pair of black biker shorts and some running shoes. The top was more like an elongated sports bra to be honest, but she didn't want to break any dress codes. Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail, that swung from side to side as she strolled to the grounds.

There was an older Hufflepuff student explaining what they would be playing. Aurelia expected it to be something athletic, something she was naturally good at. Certainly, not- bottle flipping.

Aurelia had tried bottle flips when she was younger, and she was quite good. Just never as good as the muggle boys that ran around flipping it on fences and statues. To her relief, she found out that they would be using their wand instead of their hands and the Knockback Jinx was one she had practised a lot.

When they were allowed to go, Aurelia flicked her wand and said with confidence: "Flipendo"

There was no way she would allow herself to lose.

SEPTEMBER 5TH

It seemed like many of the students of Hogwarts would be participating in the 'back to school' field day - trip - thing. The redhead had first seen the flier floating around somewhere in the castle halls, or a bulletin board - she couldn't exactly remember. However, what the girl did remember was that it was rather colourful and vibrant and offered a day of fun with your classmates, bragging rights and prizes. Teachers were encouraged to join as well, said a note at the bottom. Well, this was simply too much for Scarlett to just ignore. Prizes? Yes please. Bragging rights? Even better. And pitting students against teachers? She could just freaking scream in excitement.

Throwing on a random t-shirt and leggings quite absentmindedly, Scarlett collected her wand and hurriedly exited the Gryffindor common room, almost sprinting to reach her destination. A few minutes before she reached the place her 'event' or game would be happening, she slowed to a fast-paced walk in an attempt to look collected in front of her peers.

She arrived at the place and -

Oh damn.

Basically everyone was there, all of the second-years right in the middle of flipping and casting. Crud. Late in front of people she hardly knew, but would surely make an impact on her life later on.

It looked like no one was talking to each other as the older redheaded Hufflepuff explained the rules. Scarlett listened intently and after a short time, it was over and she had her wand out at the ready.

The Gryffindor wasn't giving up all hope of chatting, and went to her bottle near Auri, who was a relatively good friend of hers.

"Auri! Hi!" whispered Scarlett, grinning at her friend as she turned to her bottle rather anxiously, if not in complete despair. Her spell-casting was alright. Her spells were pretty powerful if they hit. If they hit. Which they usually didn't.

The girl took a deep breath, glanced around at everyone else one last time and smoothly made the movement of the spell she wished to cast, saying simultaneously, "Flipendo!"

A bit of competition was something he always jumped on and filed days seemed to be perfect for that, especially if there was some kind of prize at the end. He was getting quite excited for the event coming up, until he found out what it was. And of course it had to be a muggle trend. Percy groaned as he saw the bottles lined up in front of him, his face turning into a look of pure uninterest. At least he got to use his wand to flip it...

He slowly rolled up his sleeves and pulled out his wand from his pocket, in preparation for the start of the event. At this point all excitement had dissipated and all that was left was a solemn sulk across his lips "Bloody hell what have I gotten myself into..." grumbled the boy as he looked around at the other participants, who seemed to be more upbeat on the whole thing than he did. Percy didn't have much interest at all in muggle culture, nor did it sound appealing in the first place. So doing one himself was going to be more of a chore than pleasure, although the grand prize sure look tasty

Percy waited in boredom until the event started, where students beside him eagerly began to swish their wands. On the other hand, the Slytherin boy nonchalantly raised his wand and slowly flicked it at the bottle in front of him "Flipendo" said Percy with a small roll of his eyes.

The seven second years who'd appeared in front of her all seemed to be strangers, for the most part; she vaguely recognized Piérre from somewhere, not that she could recall exactly what, and she knew that Aurelia worked on the Headliner, but she didn't know much beyond that. She smiled kindly as @Nell Zoldak stepped up to bat, readying her wand as she prepared to cast her spell. And while Ami may have seemed brash and possibly downright rude on the surface, she was legitimately rooting for all these little shrimps to succeed. After all, she certainly didn't want to deal with any tearful children complaining about how hard everything was.

She grinned expectantly at Zoldak's spell succeeded, but groaned as it just barely failed to land upright. "Tough luck," she called out to the Ravenclaw with a shrug, crossing her fingers that she'd be able to land the next one.

A resounding thud from a different crate caught her attention, however, and Ami pumped her fist in the air as @Lizzie Callaghan successfully landed her bottle. "Good shot!"

@Amara Dragmior would follow suit with another clear success, and Ami flashed the other second year a thumbs up. She could feel a bit of attitude coming off of that one, but unfortunately, she hadn't quite learned how to transfigure humans into animals yet. Regardless, these kids were a lot better than her at magic, it seemed; thankfully, she didn't have to whip out her wand to try and give them an example to follow. @Aurelia Roberts and @Scarlett Aden followed suit, even if Aden had seemed a little apprehensive about what the end result would be.

One @Piérre Marchonné caught her eye, however, as his bottle sailed through the air quite beautifully. With a resounding thunk, the bottle seemed to cement itself perfectly in the center, as if some invisible hand had placed it there. "Holy moly," she exclaimed, accompanied with an impressed whistle. "Damn near knocked my socks off, there. Nice job, kid!"

However, her eyes drifted over to @Percival Gray and her jovial expression turned into a frown as she watched his face. "Watch your attitude, shrimp," she warned, her hand immediately going to her wand. No, don't, it's unfair, her subconscious said, Willow would probably murder you, while her eyes narrowed at the saucy young Slytherin dressed in all black. Her hand clenched and unclenched around her wand strapped to her hip, clearly trying to weigh the pros and the cons of showing this boy some seriously unfair treatment. In the end, her hand relaxed and fell to her side as she stepped forward, next to Percival.

"Keep it up and I'll have you 10 feet in the air, hanging by your underwear," she muttered under her breath, before turning to the others. "Nice job, everyone! Now remember... it's Hogwarts, and I don't believe in rules. So do everything you can to get as many bottles standing on your crate!"

Nell turned a bright shade of red instantly. She was happy her spell worked, but she was the only one who couldn't flip the bottle. She sighed under her breath as she returned to her normal pale color. With much less success than she anticipated, she was quite afraid to do it again in fear of failing. So this time, she would sabotage. Was a too early to do this in a game? Quite possibly. But was Nell going to do it? Yep. Piérre Marchonné was not an option. It just physically wasn't. Now that leaves 5 other people. She thought it over for a little while. It wasn't hard, because she barely knew any of them, but for some reason, it wasn't easy either. She finally made her choice and picked up a pebble. With just the right amount of force, Nell gracefully chucked the pebble towards @Scarlett Aden's upright bottle. She had a gut feeling that it just wasn't going to knock it, but she tried to refrain from doubting herself. her mind whirled around with many thoughts. I should have just flipped my own bottle. What if I chose someone else? She shook her head and watched the pebble.
