Katie made her way down to the great lake after she finished her lunch. She had spent all night in the forbidden toilets with Siobhán, so they'd agreed to meet at the great lake after lunch when they realized the time.
They'd meant to only stay up until curfew, but apparently they'd lost track of time and realized when they became slightly delusional in the morning. Katie had eaten waffles for breakfast that morning and then slept until lunch. Her dorm room was kept pretty tidy on her end, though her roommates could be measure at times. She wasn't sure how they had spent the morning, but they weren't in the dorm room that she knew of.
At lunch, she eaten a turkey and spinach sandwich with a slice of Swiss cheese and some strawberries. She'd finished it without chatting to any of her fellow Slytherin first years and had made her way down to the great lake after. When she had left the hall, she had noticed that Siobhán was still at the Hufflepuff table. She looked slightly terrified and panicked, likely that they would get caught. Siobhán would meet her shortly either way. Katie opened her book on herbology in the meantime and started to read.

@Siobhán Moore
Sorry for the light god-moding at the end, but I figured it would be alright and not that different from what you had in mind. If you want me to change it, I will.

It's fine, that's what I was going to do anyway.

Sitting at the Hufflepuff table, Siobhán could barely eat her chicken sandwich. She was so tired. The couple hours of sleep she got after getting back from the Abandoned Toilets and Breakfast had only made her more exhausted. After what she and Katie discovered, she looked at her plants before falling asleep, wondering what else that had to say. Not just her plants, but the trees outside. Everything in this world was interconnected by the soil. Not just plants, but humans too. Just thinking about it made her mind hurt. They were only 11 years old and here she was contemplating the meaning of life itself through plants. This was too big for her.

She finished her sandwich and her water, slowly getting up from the table and walking out of the hall. She trudged out of the castle, slowly making her way down to the lake. The afternoon sun was shining with a clear sky to boot for once and it wasn't too hot. Though the sun glaring off the lake hurt Siobhán eyes a little. It was a beautiful day. She wished she was at home, working in her garden. That would be the only reason why she would be outside. But this was a special occasion of craziness.

She finally made it to the shore of the lake and looked around for Katie. It took a minute, but she could see the other girl under a tree reading a book, so she walked over. "Hey, Katie. What are you reading?" Siobhán said tiredly. She sat down next to Katie and looked over.

Reading up on herbology., Katie said closing her book. Merlin, I am so tired this morning.
Siobhán looked pottery today. She had a bright smile on her face despite her obvious tiredness and had a certain aesthetic quality to her. Katie felt the afternoon sun beat down on their backs and it felt super nice. She set her book by her side, and flexed her toes from inside her shoes. A few puffy white clouds could be seen overhead and one of them looked like a hippogriff. That cloud looks like a hippogriff. Katie said lazily, pointing up at the sky. And that one looks like a wand. She said, pointing to a different cloud that was longer and skinnier and more wand like. You know, wand lore has always fascinated me. Just think of all the different core and wood possibilities their are to make up a wand that do seamlessly bonds with a wizard's or witch's magic. I wonder if any wands have multiple cores. Do you think they'd be more powerful, or more unstable. Suppose it could be both. Katie said thoughtfully. Wand lore was defiantly interesting. Not nearly as interesting as plants, of course, but still quite interesting.

Looking up at the sky, Siobhán sighed. "Suppose if there was a wand with more than one core? Do you think it would be stronger then the Elder wand was? Probably not, but what if? Though, I have actually read there can be dual cores. The second one is less powerful then the first, however. According to what I read, the only time a second wand core is added is if the first is lacking in ability. Which is odd. Cores are cores for a reason. I'd be shocked to learn mine was inadequate.

"I wish my wand was more geared toward healing, actually. Chestnut wood. Of course, chestnut is good for Herbology, but I'm not exactly interested in Care for Magical Creatures and I detest flying. Phoenix feather. I don't see myself dueling that often. It is good for charms, so I suppose that's good considering the line of work I want to do. You're right though, Katie. Wands are fascinating. Not as fascinating as plants, but still. Not many people look into the history of wands or what the materials of their wands mean."

Siobhán put her head on Katie's shoulder and looked out over the lake. Her eyes started to slowly flutter and she covered her mouth as she yawned, "Gosh, I'm tired. Aren't you? Can it be winter yet? I feel like I could hibernate like a bear until Spring right about now."

I'm tired too, Katie said. It is barely midday and I feel like I should be fast asleep. Probably has something to do with the fact we stayed up all night yesterday. Katie said. She could feel her eyelids getting heavy, and starting to sag, but she forced them away.
we should pull some pranks some time. Slytherin and Hufflepuff aren't usually known for their pranksters, but with my cunning to keep us from getting caught and your loyalty to prevent anyone from gaining suspicion about us, we could be both infamous AND unknown. Katie said with a slight smile. Granted, she hadn't thought all the details through yet, but it seemed like a pretty good idea.
What if we release 1,000 bouncing bulbs into the great hall? Katie said with a grin. No-one would know it was us, and it'd be hilarious. Total pandemonium! Besides, there aren't enough herbology related pranks out there. We could be the mystery herbology pranksters. The MHP. Katie said with a giggle. That probably sounded pretty dumb, didn't it? She said. Would Siobhán actually think it a good idea? Likely not. Katie got all kinds of crazy ideas that half the time turned out to be pure insanity. Katie glanced over to look at Siobhán. Her head was warm on her shoulder. Katie didn't mind being used as a pillow. Frankly, it felt comfortable to have Siobhán there.

"It would be pretty funny, wouldn't it? I don't see myself as a prankster, though it would be fun. Going outside my comfort zone is scary. I've never done a prank before. Not even to my parents or house elves. I probably wouldn't have been punished severely, but I don't like getting in trouble. What if we did get caught? 50 points each taken away at least! We would both be bullied til the end of time!"

The more Siobhán thought about it though, it did seem like a good idea. They'd have to come up with harmless pranks though. Things that wouldn't hurt many people too severely. "Oh my gosh! What if we took as much Exploding Snap cards as we could and made it into a bomb? Then we could roll it into the middle of the Great Hall from behind the entrance or something and make it explode?" Siobhán giggled at the blasphemy that was her idea.

There was no way they could do that. Katie was right, they'd have to think of something that had to do with plants for sure. "What plants are completely harmless, but scary at the same time? Then there's the situation of making the plant do what we want it to. We'd have to do so much research on top of keeping up with our classes. The MHP though, it's a lovely idea." Siobhán smiled then nuzzled her face on Katie's shoulder. She started thinking of all the possible pranks they could do. Her input probably wouldn't be that good since she's never done any kind of prank before, but she could at least give information.

Yeah, exactly! Katie said enthusiastically. Siobhán's curly black hair that was pulled up into a bun blew softly in the wind. Katie wasn't sure how long it was, as she'd only ever seen a bun, but she knew it had to be long enough to fit into a bun. She had a thinner frame than most of the other eleven year olds, but then again, so did Katie. Katie had always been on the thinner side too, but she had a big appetite and ate a lot, so it wasn't like she didn't eat or something. Katie knew that some girls purposefully didn't eat in order to keep a thin frame, but that seemed silly to Katie. The only time you shouldn't eat even if you were hungry or should eat even if you weren't would be if you had some sort of eating disorder. In that case you needed a mind healer. That was another thing that Katie would never understand. Why mind healers were so stigmatized. She knew the muggle world had psychologists as their equivalent which were equally stigmatized, and that she would never understand. If you needed help, you needed help. It's the same as needed skele-grow from a medi-wizard if you broke a bone in Quidditch or something.
Do you want to head to the library to look for books on plants. I'm sure we could find a few that would give harmless plants that could be used in pranks. Katie added, looking over at Siobhán. Katie was currently tracing moons on her leg, as she so often did when she sat still for to long. She smiled up at the sky.

Even though Siobhán wasn't an outside person, unless she was gardening, she had to admit it was a lovely day. Fluffy white clouds and a blue sky. A little chilly though which was making her regret not bringing some form of clothing to keep the chill away. Siobhán loved to garden when the weather was nice like it was today. It would keep her mind busy and wouldn't let her think about why her parents weren't around more often. She knew they were busy with their jobs, but who wouldn't want to spend time with their parents, even for a few minutes if you haven't seen them in a while?

A good day like this was surprisingly making Siobhán want to stay out here an enjoy it. Just lay down and take a nap on the ground. She wouldn't do that of course. It would be unseemly. "Can we stay out here a little long? It'd be a shame to be inside on a day like today. Why waste it? Besides, you've brought a book with you. No sense in not looking through it. All things are possible," Siobhán said as she undid her bun. She massaged her scalp. Keeping her hair up all the time, and as tightly as she put it up, put stress on her scalp. Massaging it hurt, yes, but it also made it feel better. She most always had it up because she hated having to worry about hair in her face while working. Having hair long enough to touch mid-way down her back meant that it was everywhere all the time unless you could tame it.

Of course! I can't believe I almost forgot I have a perfectly good herbology textbook right next to me. Katie responded, agreeing with Siobhán. It is nice outside. It is times like these when I am most convinced that magic is an entity of her own and not just a tool or phenomenon that witches and wizards exploit for their own gain. Katie said. It was true. Most witches and wizards had no respect for magic and only sought after what they could gain or achieve with it.
I wonder if the first witch or wizard was a mud- sorry muggle-born or a half-blood. In theory, a muggle and a magical creature such as a veela could have had the first wizard as a half blood, right? Or maybe it was a couple mud- sorry muggle-born that started all our pure-blooded lines. Katie added thoughtfully. I'm really sorry about accidentally using the m-word. In my household it was expected and used as a classification. Ingrained into my brain. I'm really sorry. I truly don't feel that way anymore, no matter what my parents once programmed me to think. Katie added. She hated that her knee jerk reaction was to call a muggle born witch/wizard, the m-word. She hated how it had once come do naturally to get.
Katie flipped open her herbology textbook and spread it across her and Siobhán's laps.

"It's alright. I had to train myself on not saying it too. My family still believes that muggle-borns are abominations. Some people are just stuck in the past, I suppose. My parents and grandparents didn't support You-Know-Who, but they shared the ideology that muggle-borns are magic thieves. I never understood why. Everyone is born with some magical ability, I believe. Witches and wizards in the world are just the lucky few who can tap into their power. Those who can't are the muggles, I think. Which also makes me feel bad for squibs. I couldn't bare to imagine what that life would feel like and I'm glad I don't have to."

Magic was an incredible thing. Magic was inside every living thing. Siobhán believed that muggles, since they couldn't use their magic, advanced in other fields of life to make their lives easier since they didn't have magic. "Do you often find yourself lost in thought thinking about how the word around us works? Sure, there are the muggles who base everything off science. But what about magical folk? Do we just sit around and continue with our lives thinking 'Well, that happened, carry on'? Maybe thinking about it is just not important," Siobhán sighed and looked down at the book on their laps. Maybe thinking about how the world works is too all-consuming for mere eleven year olds.
