The day had finally come! After the egg race had been such a resounding success, it made sense for Ami to approach her to help with this back to school field day. It had been... rough at the start. Translating Ami's ideas into actual events that didn't cause massive trips to the hospital wing. It was fun though. It made Willow feel nice since an older student approached her for help. Especially since it was someone she was slowly coming to greatly admire as they got to know each other more. Starting with the fire, then to the letters, over the summer talking here and there, and now this. Ami was truly a force to be reckoned with, and Willow was trying to learn as much as she could from her.

This wasn't all done without outside help either. Luckily Professor Lian had been able to help them out with gathering supplies, such as potato sacks from the kitchens once the house elves were done with them. The professor was one she was mildly intimidated of, especially since the subject she taught was so challenging for Willow. But after she helped her in the Blossom Ball, Willow had a new soft spot for her. Really, this whole day of events was just Willow being able to be surrounded and plan something fun with a couple of her new favorite people in Hogwarts. Willow had spent the morning creating the mild obstacle course of sacks for the first years. They didn't really know spells so it was best to stick with something physical. Hence, a popular muggle game with some added challenges. Logs to jump over. It shouldn't be too hard~ The sacks were roomy and spacious and long enough for them to jump easily. Or... she hoped. She was a relatively short gal so stuff that would be a dress on her might be a crop top for others that were much taller than her.

Willow was wearing a strawberry button up shirt tucked into shorts, black vans, and a cute pink bandana turned headband to keep her newly short pink hair out of her eyes. This field day was very serious, and she needed to see all parties. The potato sacks were at the start, logs were placed, all that was left was the participants themselves.

Although she'd never been a fan of sports day at her old school, Tina would have been lying if she said she wasn't looking forward to today. For her first weekend at Hogwarts, she was being offered a distraction from some of the less than pleasant things that had been happening to her. With the mounting homesickness she was feeling, having to deal with bullies like Liz and struggling in her lessons, this was a welcomed break.

Whilst she wasn't the most agile, nor the strongest, at least she had some experience with races like this compared to these wizard borns. Moreover, even if she didn't win, Starlee had signed up too, and seeing a friend succeed wouldn't be too bad. Pulling her jumper over her head and tossing it aside, Tina approached the start line, which was marked out on the field by a number of potato sacks. One other person had arrived; they seemed to Tina like another first year, judging by height, only with very cool hair.

"Hello hello!" she greeted, skipping over to one of the middle potato sacks and stepping in, pulling it high around her and shimmying to find a comfortable position. It engulfed almost her full body, which was a good thing in terms of balance, she decided. "Are you racing too? Oh, I really love your hair, by the way. Mum always says I'm not allowed to dye it, but papa says when I'm a witch I could do it with magic and she wouldn't be able to stop me, probably." Tina grinned, patting down her afro. Yes, one day it would be rainbow coloured, and nobody would stop her. "Anyway, good luck!"

Starlee walked out onto the castle grounds, genuinely excited for this field day. She had attended a couple at the muggle school her parents had her attend in case she happened to turn out a squib like her older brother, and she remembered having a blast. She wondered how these events would differ since it was a magical field day... but she didn't even know any magic yet to do anything... so... what would they be doing? She decided to dress cozy casual, with her sneakers in case they did anything too athletic. While she wasn't any athletic star, she could manage to pull her weight when she needed to.

She reached the area she was told and saw a super cute girl with pink hair and her new friend Tina, standing around a group of potato sacks. Well, that would be easy enough! She could totally crush everyone in a potato sack race... and she got to hang out with her new friend. She approached as Tina quickly hopped into her sack at one end, and Starlee quickly ran over to catch up and say hello. "Hey Tina! Are you ready for this sack race? Cause you know I am!" Starlee grinned devilishly at her. She turned to the pink-haired girl and said "Hey there! I'm Starlee." She, the same as Tina, had assumed the other was a first-year and wished her luck just as Tina had done. "Good luck to you!" She then proceeded to hop into her sack, right next to Tina. The sack came up to a little bit lower than Tina's did, to about her chest, and she hoped she could make this work for herself. She did not plan on loosing.

Melissa walked out onto the grounds, not quite ready for what she was about to do. She had signed up to do a field day event in hopes of meeting new people. Honestly, she might've felt a little too brave that day when she signed up. Apparently, she felt so brave that she even joined clubs and events. Mel quickly looked around and saw a few logs laid out and four potato sacks on the ground. Near them, there were three girls. The ginger then noticed the girl with pink hair. Well, how could you not notice her? That's Willow! she thought.

"Hey Willow!" Melissa said to her when she arrived. Then, she added, "H-hi...my name's Melissa," to the other girls while thinking, I bet that they are also racing... She noticed that there were only three of them racing so someone was probably late. I wonder who's the fourth racer- Her thoughts got interrupted when she remembered that she was supposed to be getting ready in her sack. Mel quickly walked over to one of the potato sacks by the side and got in. When she pulled the rest up, it barely reached up to above her waist. It's...a little short but I'll deal with it later- she thought while trying to pull it up higher.

Ah, field day. Now, Remi never has ever gotten the chance to play with other kids who weren't in the close hands of the Yao family but he has seen one of the Muggle schools back home in Ivory Coast where the kids would be running around in the front of the school with a couple of stuff just to play with and all that.

With this, however, this wasn't like that all.

It was pretty shocking in a slightly foreign perspective, with him currently going to Hogwarts with the massive castle. The large grounds and so on and so on.

As Remi walked on the grounds, wearing yet another different pair of casual clothing but this time, it was black with a golden logo near the pocket. As he looked around, seeing a couple of second years go there own way to where their own field day thing. Shrugging his shoulder, he chose to go the other way until he found a group of girls that appeared near his age.
"Ugh, time to be the only boy..."
He said sourly to himself but he brightens up a little bit when seeing a familiar face.
"Oh hey, Starlee!"
He gave a passionate wave before noticing two other girls; one of them had fair skin while the other had a darker complexion with a rounder face as well as an older girl, maybe second to the third year.
"Hellooo.~"
He extended the 'o' before continuing,
"I'm Remi."
He said simply.

Now, it was odd why Remi wasn't being more extraverted but honestly, he had butterflies flew in his stomach as this reminded him of when he was young with all of his sisters. The bitter-sweet feeling of missing home but getting out of there.

As he walked over and put on his feet, he gripped it as he put his feet in. He didn't feel the need to strengthen his grip towards the finish line, he needed to dash forward for the win when the older girl was about to say go!

It didn't take long before the four new friends to arrive for the game starting with a young girl that didn't introduce herself. Willow scrunched up her nose when asked if she was racing, meaning the girl mistook her for a first year. Looks like her 7cm growth spurt didn't do much to make her look at all older. "My mom took me to a place for it to be dyed, as like a reward for surviving my first year at Hogwarts. But no, I won't be racing today! I'm Willow, the person who organized this with Ami! I'm a second year and she's a fourth year!" It wasn't long after Willow stopped speaking that Starlee showed up, Willow gave a small wave befort pouting again. "I'm a second year I promise! I know I'm short! So, good luck to you two. As you need it more than me who will just be standing over here." She shook off the sad thoughts of her still looking like an infant and waved excitedly at Melissa.

She had seen the Ravenclaw initially rushing to get to her class, she was sweet, and didn't assume Willow to be a first year so she was already wishing her a bit of extra luck. Then the last first year and final familiar face showed up. A boy named Remi that she caught Sylvain's escaped chocolate frogs with. "Hey Remi! Remember me from summer camp?" She comically did a hop and croak like a frog before giggling.

"Alright firsties! Welcome to the potato sack race of the field day! I am definitely older than you, and solidly a second year. I'll be here to make sure everything stays fair and no one gets hurt! Goal of the game is pretty simple! Hippity hop your way over to the end over the log hurdles and you win! Simple as that!" She gave them a final nod for them to get ready in the sacks. "Ready... Set... Go!"

They were off! Well... not quite. Starlee, Martyna, and Melissa stayed at the start a bit delayed with fully situating into their potato sacks. It was quite an awkward situation, who could blame them. But Remi was quickly off! Hippity hopping his way right off the bat, but not too far as he was probably getting adjusted to the weird jumping.

Starlee smiled as another girl approached the small group. She seemed sweet and actually knew who their host was, to which Starlee was impressed by. Starlee smiled at her as she introduced herself. "Hiya Melissa! I'm Starlee." She then saw another student approaching. 'Oh boy... it's the boisterous boy who nearly capsized their boat on the great lake... twice.' He seemed nice enough, 'I mean... he did dive in to save another person...', Starlee thought, but she knew he wasn't going to be easy to beat. "Hey there Remi!" She gave him a small smile. "I hope you're ready for this, cause I ain't going easy on ya!"

Willow spoke up again, saying she was actually the host and a second-year, to which Starlee looked down at the ground a little sheepishly. She shouldn't assume these things! 'Darn it, Tina....' Willow then set them up for the beginning of the race. Starlee couldn't believe a second-year and a fourth-year had started this up, it seemed so well coordinated!

Well... time to think about her sack racing strategies. Starlee knew she would need some sort of advantage if she was going to beat Remi. So she spent her time trying to get the sack just in the right position. Once she was all adjusted, she attempted to go forward!

"Nice to meet you Starlee-" Melissa said. Then, she called out, "So um, good luck you guys!" to the other first years. Then, they were off. While Melissa adjusted her sack so it was in a perfect position, Remi, the only boy racing, started going forward. It wasn't really running, to be honest. Just...awkward hopping in a potato sack- I'm probably not gonna win... she thought. The others just looked so...ready and all. The ginger had only signed up because she thought that it wouldn't be very competitive but here she was, in a pretty competitive race with other first years.

Melissa was never really competitive. Maybe because she was always alone and had nobody to compete with. She was also not athletic at all. Well, she biked and did some athletic things but she just wasn't any good at those things. As Mel moved in the sack, she struggled a bit. The sack was so big and floppy that would move everywhere making it almost impossible to move without having to pull the sack up a bit again. Although it was quite challenging, the ginger still made a bit of progress.

One after another, everyone began to arrive at the field, eager to start the race. Tina scooted closer in her sack to say her hellos to those both familiar and not. "Hiiii Star and Melissa and Remiiiii! I'm Tina," she said with a grin, drawing out the 'i' sound and waving with her free hand. With the other, she clutched the top of her sack. Melissa, who seemed to be very shy, towered over everyone else in a way that was almost a little ironic, most noticeably Willow, who was nearly a full foot shorter. What made this worse was that the other girl had just dismissed Tina's earlier comment about how she had to have been racing as well. As it turned out, it was actually Willow that had organised this whole event, as well as Ami. How was she supposed to know that? She should grow more, if she didn't want to be mistaken for a firstie.

There was little time to dwell on this, however, as Willow soon began explaining the rules to them. Standard stuff, aside from the huge obstacles that were plonked conveniently in their path. Tina narrowed her eyes, pulling her sack up even further and bending her knees. She was going to absolutely annihilate the competition.

"Ready... Set... Go!"

Tina stumbled in her sack, not achieving the head-start she'd wanted. Dammit. On one hand, it was only Remi that had managed to set off straight away, with both Melissa and Starlee lagging behind. On the other hand, Remi was a boy, and Tina couldn't let the only boy in their group win. Not a chance. With an irritated grumble, she adjusted her sack, before breaking forwards into what she hoped was a successful jump.

Without realizing, he gave a shy wave at Martyna with an added sense of blood-flow reach into his face. Why? why? He wasn't completely sure,
"Hellooo Tina."
He said, not in the same effect as Tina did but he did try before realizing he had a race to complete. He then looked over at Willow said Remi's name, Remi realized that it was the same girl who helped Sylvian with getting his frogs.
"Oh, Willow? Hey."
He said, acknowledging her.

When Willow said Go, Remi did as he was told and he went. Hopping forward as he let out a slight huff as he made it to one of the first logs.indeed, Instead of trying to get onto the log with a lumpy bag, he took this time to try to adjust his bag with a better grip onto his bag, tightening his hands to the point of where his hands started to hurt.

indeed, He wonders if he could actually win a contest but it wouldn't be terribly hard, he was quite speedy when it came to racing his sisters but not really physically strength, let's hope he was big enough to attempt to step over the log or climb on it with his feet.
