“ Hmm..that a rather boring expression on your face there, Opeila Seilun..” He mumbled with a disapproving tone. It would be nice to see her face turn to disgust just a bit but he guessed her sharp irritated tone was okay enough. That wouldn’t stop him from a chance to poke fun at her of course.
“ Fine~. “ he smiled cheekily and surrendered his hands meekly- showing he wasn’t at all much effected by her command. “You should still smile more though. Aren’t you the host of this gathering? If you can’t handle a little ole me then …”he paused for a second, a sly smile on his face. “ I’m afraid you aren’t a very good host~” It was extremely unnecessary of him to say but then again, saying unnecessary things was a hobby of his. To be honest, Hanako was immensely impressed by her energy and the extra thought she put into her events despite how most of them ended up with flames and big bees and whatnot. It was something Hanako found difficulty in and he was sure it was the same for many. While minor admiration might be there, it doesn’t mean he was obliged to share it.
“ Hahah..well having a friend like Percival wasn’t a plan of mine in the first place so perhaps I’m unaware of a few rules regarding friendship” he commented with a slight smile at her sarcastic response. She certainly wasn’t wrong when it came to Hanako’s lack of friendship awareness skills but it’s coming from Opeila of god sake. Anything she seems to say was like a bad taxi driver to Hanako. Utterly annoying and you still need to pay. “ The most unexpected occurrence since I found out I have actual magical blood- that’s for sure. Should I thank you for giving me those pointers I missed? I’ll take note of that, PeePee~” The way he playfully winked at the girl indicated he really wasn’t going to take her seriously anytime soon.
“ Ah, yes jealousy..that would be the first thing that popped into your mind now is it?” It was the first thing on his mind as well but she didn’t need to know that. He himself was unsure if her jab was an actual fact in disguise as a taunt. Fortunately, he had enough of his brain heating up just thinking about it so the only thing he could do now was to defend himself despite somewhat agreeing with her. Pretending to disagree something was easy. “ Don’t make me laugh, Seilun. Are you seriously mistaking my kind heart for a jealous one? Let me make this clear, Peepee. I don’t get jealous. There is absolutely nothing to be jealous about. Jealousy is when you fear something precious to you is being taken away. And trust me-” he looked at her up and down- faking a dramatic laugh he ‘tried’ to cover up. “ I don’t have anything to worry about”.
“ While you may question how my friendship works with Percival, you can’t deny how I may know him better than well... better than you do. For sure. Don’t you care about him? Why would you prolong something doomed to tear down soon? By any chance...was your kindergarten nickname Selfish Seilun?” If they were in the same kindergarten, he would’ve definitely called her that. A childish joke that an 8 year old could do better but Hanako wasn’t here to entertain her with bad jokes. He had a mission. A mission he had to finish before Percival came back.
”What I’m doing now is just saving both of you from unnecessary heartbreak. It’s not my problem if you don’t listen but it certainly will be if it affects Percival. Seethe and hate my words, Seilun. But do remember my kind intentions behind them~ “ There he goes smiling innocently again as if he was unaffected by his words and how he was basically telling this poor girl to eff off saying it was ‘ bad for all of them’. Not only that but slightly guilt-tripping her and basically calling her selfish if she didn't listen to him was uncalled for. Yet all he could think about at the moment was to get her away from Percival.

Percival had trouble figuring out how to talk to the girl in front of him. It was rather clear that the other was more on the shy side. He gave Tallis a small smile as she spoke trying to seem encouraging. Though he quickly realized that he wasn't truly helping make the girl feel more comfortable at the party. In truth, he couldn't help but feel like he was forcing her to answer his questions. "I am enjoying the party so far." he answered honestly his mouth twitching up into a more genuine smile.
His gaze looked away from Tallis towards the two figures he had left by themselves for a good couple of minutes now. At that moment, Percival remembered the hot chocolate that he had accidentally forgotten about. His gaze slipping to the table where the two mugs sat lonely and forgotten. The steam, which signaled that the drinks were still hot, was no more making him wonder if the drinks were now lukewarm. Percival guessed more time had passed then he had originally thought. "I apologize, but I must be taking my leave now. Hope you enjoy the rest of the party." he said politely.
Percival turned away from Tallis signaling the end of their conversation and grabbed the drinks from the table. The boy hoped that the girl would be able to enjoy the rest of the party, and wouldn't see his sudden departure as rude. He just had somewhere to be. Sadly, that meant leaving behind this new acquaintance. Though that didn't exactly make him upset. Percival had been running out of small topics. He hoped that Opeila and Hanako did not mind his unexpected absence. Percival made his way towards the pair catching the last part of their conversation.
'But do remember my kind intentions behind them~'
Percival felt his brows furrow slightly as he wondered what the two had been talking about before he had shown up. Whatever it was Hanako was seemingly trying to be kind. This brought a smile to his face glad to see that the two were getting along. It would do no one good if his best friend and his girlfriend didn't like one another. Though if he had dug deeper into their facial expressions he would have seen that something was wrong. The boy walked up beside Hanako holding the mug out to him. "Sorry for taking so long. I got tied up." he said his smile staying on his face.

"Oh, I am very sorry. If you were looking for a different sort of entertainment, I'd suggest you well... just leave. I think that would be a great idea." With every word the boy said, the anger in Opeila's eyes got more burning.
"Don't you dare.", she interrupted him the moment he called her a bad host. "You don't get to judge me whatsoever. But you are right. I am the host. And I as host now tell you to take this asshole attitude and get it through that door. Feel free to close it from the outside afterwards."
Opeila's eyebrows rose when Hanako explained that having a friend like Percival wasn't his plan and that he was unaware of rules regarding friendship. "Clearly.", Opeila said, nodding. This boy set her on edge. Very much. Her gaze wandered through the room until she found Percival, who was chatting with another girl. What on earth did Hanako do to win such a stable trust from him, that he could even embarass him in public without having to worry about upsetting him in an irreparable way? Did she assess Percival that wrong? Was he that weak and dependent?
Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are talking to? And what on earth makes you think you have the right to treat people the way you do? Even more your own friends? With every passing second, Opeila just wanted to Flipendo Hanako through the door, then walk over to Percival and shake him until he woke up.
His attempt to brush of her assumption that he was jealous, was laughable. "Then what is this about, Tone? This ridiculously determined attempt to get me to break up with him?"
He went on with some childish attempts to provoke her, called her Selfish Seilun... Did he not see the irony? "I don't think I have ever said 'You got some nerve' in a completely negative way, but you baffle me, kid. As long as you see your position as the greatest torment on the playground unendangered, you can push them all around, pretend that you don't care. You use him for his naivety and call it friendship, all in order to secure that position, don't you? What does he mean to you? And now, don't answer this question to me, I don't want to hear it. Answer it to yourself. Maybe you have enough respect for yourself to not lie to yourself." Opeila made a step towards him. The few centimeters she was taller than him, she now used to look down at him. "But whatever sick game you are playing, I don't want any part of it."
She shook her head when he talked about trying to saving both of them from unnessecery heartbreak. "You really are blind. Who are you to judge about hurting people, throwing words and knowledge, even about your friends, around like weapons. You will hurt him."
"Seethe and hate my words, Seilun. But do remember my kind intentions behind them~"
Opeila could see Percival returning from the corner of her eye. And she knew that she couldn't take talking to him now. She was mad, yes, mad at Hanako, at Percival and herself. At Percival for being so unbelievably blind and weak. There was still the temptation to grab his shoulders and shake some sense into him. At herself for the self-preserving instinct to pull out of what she got into, break up with Percival again and stay on the safe side. What she saw weighed enough on her that it could and probably would affect her in the future. Not to mention Hanako likely not letting her off the hook so quickly, no matter what he said now.
"It's fine.", Opeila said when Percival apologized for taking so long. It is not fine. How are you not aware of what an arse your friend is. And if you are, why did you leave me alone with him?
She placed her own mug on a table and sent him a quick smile. Actually I am quite tired, so I guess I will just head back to the common room. Your friend here volunteered to take over as host, he'll have everything under control." She walked past Hanako, patting his shoulder. "See you tomorrow, Perce." With that she walked out of the door.
