Mission Statement

This is a quarterly gathering of students with the express purpose of talking out their difficulties in school and life in a non-judgmental environment. This is not therapy, but rather a place to go to for open discussion. Whether you are having trouble with stress, friendships, or are troubled about something going on in the school, you will be heard. The club seeks to ease pressure on students who have no one else to confide in, as well as outreach in places where aid and attention is needed.

This is not a group with members, but a quarterlyly meeting in an empty classroom where up to seven students will be allowed to come in and discuss their in character problems at their leisure. (This means after seven participants enter, the thread will go from [Open] to [PV], and if a participant leaves, it will become [Open] again.) There may be more chairs or positions in the club opened depending on demand. The discussion will be kept in line by one or all of the founders present, but that doesn't mean it can't get out of control. The thread will be a normal RP with the usual 200 word limit, but no specific posting order. Feel free to use the platform to further your character's understanding of themselves, or get your friends to open up. If you're unsure if something is appropriate for the meeting, you can OWL me first and we can discuss it. You may also use this thread to ask questions or give suggestions.

Rules

• For now, there is a rule to leave your wand at the door to ensure that people can talk freely without fear of being hexed.
• Students are asked to keep the discussion judgement-free to the best of their ability. A character will be asked to leave if they are being intentionally antagonistic.
• Students are advised to take extremely serious topics to staff or a licensed therapist.

Meetings Meetings take place on the first Saturday of September, December, March, and June, and end on the last day of the quarter no matter where the discussion ends 5/27 Help Yourself 9/5 AURA Meeting #1

Updates

09/09/2020: The founders agreed to change the meetings from monthly to quarterly to give people time to discuss their character's problems properly instead of feeling rushed. This means that there will be four meetings every year, held on the first Saturday of September, December, March, and June.
