It had been a long night.
Paisley had fallen in werewolf form. She was always disoriented while she was a werewolf, and she had tripped over her own paws. This caused her to scrape her leg on her claws, and, unfortunately, she had hit her head on the hard ground of the shrieking shack. When she had changed back into a human, the scrape and the bruises were still there.
Tired and fatigued, she had limped back to the hospital wing, hoping that no one and nothing would see her in this state; not even a flobberworm. She would most definitely look terrible, from her tattered clothing, her tangled hair, and the deep circles underneath her eyes.
When at last she had made it through the long, endless halls, she had collapsed on a bed without even a 'hello' or 'fix me!' to the nurse. The soft, comfortable bed and pillows consumed her.
When she had awoken she was bandaged and a pitcher of water sat on the table beside her, so she supposed that the nurse had seen her. Paisley took a moment to sit up, and she was surprised at how much better she felt. She could even pour herself a glass of water with shaky hands, which was better than not being able to move because of her head. It still throbbed, but it was bearable.
She looked down at her foot. A white cast surrounded it, and she could see her shoes placed on a bench at the bottom of the bed, along with her robes.
That wasn't too bad, other than almost ripping off my foot and hitting my head super hard. she thought, exaggerating just a bit inside of her head. She liked to do that, sometimes because it really brought her comfort of how bad the situation wasn't. Suppose she had gotten a concussion? What would she have done then? She was very lucky she had only gotten scraped a bruised. Exaggerating helped her realize that.
She stood up, but immediately sat back down. Her head spun, and she wondered how she managed to walk back here last night. Everything was a blur...
Paisley looked around a bit, sitting on top of her bed against the pillows. There weren't many other students in the hospital wing, just a few that seemed to be coming and going quickly.
I wonder if anyone has as bad of luck as I do. Paisley thought, and although she didn't know it, someone else in that very room did.

A few beds away, a young boy with messy ginger hair sat, staring a the walls and contemplating how disturbingly clean this place was, yet, he seems calm. As he played with his hair, a nurse aproached him, and started checking him, it was nothing deadly, many bruises in fact, scars on his left arm and leg and strangely, a few twigs stuck in his hair , in a few minutes he seemed to be slightly better, but strangely, instead of going away, he started talking to the nurse, it seems like in fact, he is used to being here at the Hospital Wing.

For a few seconds he turned to the girl nearby, who seemed to be very hurt compared to Aldor, you could see his emerald like eyes, letting out a small shine as he smiled, he seemed timid, but honest and kind, he blushed slightly and looked away. He looked back at the nurse after this, and kept talking, his voice became quieter, as he seems to be slightly embarassed because of something that happened, still you could probably still get a few words:

''I'll stay for a bit, maybe some company will be good for her-''

After this, the place went silent once more, as the nurse simply patted his head, and walked away. Aldor would stay at the edge of the bed, fidgetting with his fingers, as he thought of what to do, he couldn't stay there all the time, yet, for some reason he feels the need to aproach the stranger and say hi, this wasn't a common thing for Aldor, since in fact, he never really liked talking to people, but today, he feels slightly more determinated to greet the person who lays nearby.

Paisley looked a few beds down, and suddenly made eye contact with a boy on the bed next to her. She felt her face turn bright red and she turned away quickly, just as the other person did the same. She probably still looked terrible, she didn't want anyone to see her like this! Especially not this kind-looking classmate next to her. That was the worst kind of person to see when she looked this shabby. The kind and understanding ones. They always made her feel better, which in a way, just made everything worse.
Who was that? she wondered, peeking over again. They were muttering something to the nurse, who then left. The boy then sat on the edge of the bed, seemingly thinking deeply.
Paisley, who was still sitting up against her pillows, edged to the side of the bed.
"Hi. What's your name?" asked Paisley, her voice so low it was almost inaudible. I'm Paisley. Paisley Brown. It's nice to meet you," she said, shifting on the bed again.
It was strange to see another person so close after being a werewolf. It was interesting to think of how, only a few hours ago, she hadn't been a human. She had been an animal. A monster, in fact. You really are a monster. Why would this person want to talk to you anyway? she asked herself.
Paisley looked down into her hands, her hair covering her face. She had nothing else to say at the moment, but a few words snuck out.
"Strange, the fact that not many others seem to be in here today, isn't it? It's pretty empty. Well, I guess it is the start of term, not many people have as bad as luck as me, and you, by the looks of it.." she said, her voice still shy and quiet. She didn't often talk to many from other houses. In fact, this was Paisley's first time meeting what seemed to be a Hufflepuff.
There's a first time for everything! she told herself. But that includes mistakes.

The boy's eyes darted towards the stranger, although she was quiet, he heard her question perfectly, a shy smile showed on his face, as he answered, almost as quietly as she did.

''I-I am Maldor Homvilelow- I mean uh- Aldor, Aldor Humbleglow'' The boy chukled awkwardly at how badly he tripped over his own words. He listened to her carefully, as she told him her name.

''Paisley?-' He would rise an eyebrow. ''That is actually a really nice name.'' The boy smiled softly, as he felt his face turn red out of pure embarassment, he has never been used to this, and probably will never be, but it is always nice to talk to people every once in a while.

After everything went silent for a bit, he looked back at her, as she commented on how empty this place was, and how strange it was, Aldor thought of an answer, and before he thought about it twice, he spoke.

''I don't think it is really about luck- maybe just- stuff happens, you know?'' Aldor paused, as he shrugged. ''Usually, I usually come here at least twice a week- maybe I'm just very clumsy and careless-'' He would play with his hair, as he thought about a few more words to say.

''I don't mind being here that much- It is quite nice to be in a quiet and peaceful place- actually- it is nice but, it is better to have someone to talk to, I don't like distracting the nurses because of talking to them-'' He'd look back up at her, his eyes were pretty distracting, sometimes people just stared at them, and made Aldor feel really awkward, since he hates eye contact

I-I am Maldor Homvilelow- I mean uh- Aldor, Aldor Humbleglow'' Paisley laughed softly at his word-scramble. She rarely heard someone speak with flaws at this school, it was a nice change.
"Pleasant to meet you, Maldor." she said with a mischievous smile tugging at her lips. She couldn't help but tease him a little. She hoped he would understand
''Paisley?-That is actually a really nice name.'' Paisley felt her whole face light up bright red with embarrassment. Did this boy know how awkward this made her feel? She had never been complimented so thoroughly by someone other than her parents. It was surprising. She wasn't sure she liked it.
"Oh-eh, thanks?" she said it as sort of a question.
''I don't mind being here that much- It is quite nice to be in a quiet and peaceful place- actually- it is nice but, it is better to have someone to talk to, I don't like distracting the nurses because of talking to them-''
Paisley nodded understandingly. "I get it." there was a silence for a few moments, in which Paisley took to looking out the window, her legs swinging along the bed beneath her.
"So..." she paused, biting her lip. "What house are you in?"
He's a Hufflepuff you dolt! Can't you see the crest on his robes?
Paisley quickly overrode her last question with a new one. "It's a nice day today, isn't it? I hope I'm well enough to enjoy it." she said, then cringed inwardly.
Oh, great. Now you've just brought attention to your wounds. Now he's going to ask how you got hurt! You dummy!

His eyes would dart back at her, as soon as she replied, he couldn't help but smile and laugh quietly, at her comment, maybe he honestly found it funny, maybe he is just really nervous.

But then, his smile faded for a few seconds, as he heard her answer to the compliment he said, he knows what that answer meant, after all, he has said it many times before. He felt the need to excuse himself for making her feel weird, but felt like it wasn't the right time, so he waited.

After some silence, he was about to answer about the house he was in, but clearly, she changed her topic, avoiding an awkward moment, then, the way she commented about not being well concerned him, but he preffered not to ask what happened, after all, he saw her since he came into the Hospital Wing really early in the morning, and she looked devastated and extremly tired, so he simply stayed silent.

After a moment, he would look around, and turn back to her, he would lock his eyes onto hers, and thought of an answer.

''You shouldn't go out on your own- but if you are willing to- I am sure I can have some spare time to help you out-'' He would smile softly, as he played with his hair, blushing strongly as he felt very embarassed.

''Or if you don't feel better soon I can- come over every once in a while- maybe get something around the grounds and- bring it to you?- maybe flowers or- books?-'' He would smile kindly, why did he offer company to this person he just met? Well, in fact, he's seen her before, but never talked to her, he believes this talk won't go far if he keeps being awkward.

"No!" Paisley hadn't meant to be rude, but she didn't want to accept flowers from a stranger, a boy stranger, she had just met. Especially not when they were 11. It seemed odd and awkward and weird and icky and gross and just....not right.

And what did he mean by 'help'? Did he expect Paisley to hold his hand whilst trying to walk better? Or did help mean serving her at dinner? When was help needed? She was reading too much into this...wasn't she?

"I-I'm sorry, just no. No. No thanks. No." Paisley wasn't sure what the intent behind the flowers and help had been, but she didn't think she wanted to find out. Not in the slightest.
"It-it's been nice meeting you, Maldor, and I'm feeling a bit better. I should leave, now, it's been nice talking to you." she smiled slightly at saying 'Maldor', but one could see that it was forced with a close look. She wanted to be as nice as possible, but this had been just so awkward.

Paisley suddenly remembered why she didn't like talking to people. It seemed as if her other meetings with students had left her softened up, only to come back with the big blow. Flowers. Paisley couldn't imagine it. Her? Flowers? What would come after that? Chocolates?
She stood up, and although the whole room spun, knew she needed to get out of there quick. This was just too much. She limped as quickly as she could, barely making eye contact with Maldor as she went. She couldn't see where she was going, and she was sure she was going to fall over any second.
"Bye, again." she said, and then left. She left the hospital wing without seeing the nurse again. Her ankle screamed in protest, but she ignored it.
At last Paisley found herself in the great hall. It wasn't her common room, but it was closer. She sat down at one of the benches, the word 'flowers' still repeating inside of her head.

Paisley has left this thread. Thank you, it has been fun roleplaying. I hope to do it again sometime.
